My moves are fresh, like my groceries.
#TeamEvonforever
My experience thus far has been that the stat buff has not been make or break for my ability to roam. Last night i had a laughably easy time hitting targets on the map as the counter groups from my opponents had to keep falling back to maintain the middle of the map and keep their control. This anchor for them made is easily to havoc in the northern borderlands and also ensured i would be able to keep them from pushing towards either the western side of the map or the eastern side of the map too ardently without putting pressure on the opposite side of the new capture points.
It seems to me the objectives and the map changes are ultimately good for WvW as they force more strategic allocation of resources and forces to manage a map, making offensives and counters to bunkering easier.
If the zergs are roaming for the capture points i am glad, more fights and less bunkering in fortified keeps.
If you disagree with the path WvW is going towards in GW2;
If you disagree with decisions made by certain individuals with 25 stacks of bloodlust;
If you disagree with the new content;
You get the jist; but this will be a peaceful protest.
It’s simple: Don’t log in for the first hour of WvW on reset on the 20th of September, go and spend some time with your family, friends, pets. Do some other activities.
This will allow parties involved, to “collect data” on the thoughts and opinions of the WvW community. But to do this, the message needs to be spread. After the hour of pandemonium, log in and continue playing like you normally would.
Hopefully we can stop the bullying that is going on at the moment. God Bless you all.
Yay! Shorter queues!
I will withhold my full judgement but form what i got to experience, yes- i like the update.
They need to remove stacking sigils, food, and oil/crystals/stones too!
actually that’s not a problem because everyone has access to them and is a great way to create more builds.
the problem here is a buff that only 1 server can get at a time making it more powerfull
Everyone has access to the buff, go cap the nodes.
They need to remove stacking sigils, food, and oil/crystals/stones too!
Because what we need is for players to yell at militia/pugs to get off the map to decrease point gains of enemy teams, good idea.
Can’t wait to hear you whining about an unbalanced league.
I’m glad you can’t wait; i’d hate for you to devote so time to waiting for something that will not occur.
Because what we need is for players to yell at militia/pugs to get off the map to decrease point gains of enemy teams, good idea.
actually yes, thats what we need. the time of pugs stacking one server and that actually being benefitial has to come to an end. the only way for that to happen is if pugs are griefed and chased away by organized guilds
why do you think this is a bad idea? the coat tailer pugs were the ones creating the problem, they sure deserve to be publicly disparaged and heckled into leaving.
If you think the answer to your personal issues with WvW population allocation is to publicly harass randoms and effectively make them a second class instead of integrating them into your server community in hopes of developing a more informed player base- then you, you are the problem.
Because what we need is for players to yell at militia/pugs to get off the map to decrease point gains of enemy teams, good idea.
S/D’s Larcenous Strike seems to inefficient with initiative cost to what you gain, i will likely only use the set now for the 5 and 2, maybe flanking strike if i get jumped.
Revealed is a much bigger issue. My ability to defend myself and my ability to survive is stealth dependent. Stealth is my condition removal and it is my way of dealing heavy damage. Any sort of repeatable 3rd party revealed drastically hampers my capacity to deal damage, defend, remove conditions, and much more. If this is not handle properly this change to rangers could DRASTICALLY weaken thieves in all formats but i fear most in WvW.
The nice thing about facing TC, similar to what nick said above is that a LOT of them run gear with little to no defensive stats. Half of a large pug zerg will melt on the first push. We may still get overwhelmed by numbers, but lots of bags drop before that. And with outnumbered who cares. I think I made 4-5 gold last night.
Additionally a myriad of uplevels and just plain baddies. TC is like a lottery where even a losing ticket gives you $100.00. TC is like 1840’s gold rushing in California, despite not being the safest profession all the time even the most average player can find gold. I love this match up TC makes me feel like the Spartans in 300, sure we all pretty much die in the end, but the glory associated with said death is soooo rewarding. And with DB in this match up too they can’t just sit in their towers and upgrade during off hours so we can just break down those paper walls like a pinata and get all the tasty TC bags inside. GG on PPT though TC, your prize is……… oh wait there is no prize.
I feel the same about DB and FA, it’s nice to take a roaming group and walk away with full bags. SoR has the sense to group build and be tanky, not many on DB and FA have the same sense. Not to say TC is any better.
so how did an organized tc guild get crushed by 20 commanderless FA militia with even numbers
that’s really sad
I heard 3 FA D/D zerker thieves autoattacked a 70 man TC zerg to death.
Wow TC, so embarrassing.
I heard a single FA who was naked and up-leveled look at a TC zerg, wiped them, drained all their supply, and flipped all their objectives on the map.
TC better watch out.
Score? Anyone?
TC: 15921 pts; +280 ppt
DB: 10642 pts; +225 ppt
FA: 9970 pts; +190 ppt
This is the second time I’ve seen TC claim that their NA is able to keep up with or outscore SoR’s during that prime time, and no matter how I look at the millennium history of the matches I don’t see it.
It happens occasionally and briefly. It shows for some conditions TC can push up to match SoR even when, under my observations, SoR has groups out fighting.
There on those on TC who act as you have suggested but there are many more who do not. The WvW regulars have a much worse time fighting outmatched opponents than we do someone like SoR, but we expect SoR to perform and a lot of us were expecting so much more than SoR has delivered. You can kitten up your ego as much as you want, if you are a rallian as Aurust is, but the glimmer of hope some of our guilds have taken from SoR is in gvgs, everything else is lacking in notability.
Lacking in notability sez the TC poster…. Ha! I suppose deluding yourself is one way to make the butt pain go away.
Unlike some of the other posters that try to sugarcoat things, I won’t. TC barring a very very few minor exceptions, has weak builds, tactics, and organization. I did not find fighting TC a challenge, and overall I would say that because of TC, this week of wvw was dull…..
That’s fine, but you say i am deluding myself? that is laughable.

Here’s a bug for the devs to make note of: i died in trib mode, came back and had the reel showing i was in a cutscene permanently over my head. After about 30s i got kicked to the character login screen. Maybe the next time you release a poorly designed mess like this iteration of SaB you should make sure your game actually works first. Get it together Anet.
the 4th of october
Stealth is strong. A lot will claim it is OP due to it’s offensive and defensive strengths being tied up in one neat package. Having a WoW-like flare mechanic would be a fine thing, but any changes to stealth need to be carefully made kitten much of the thief class depends on the current stealth mechanics. Without careful adjustments the thief class could be really borked.
@ Dungald
Seriously? All of our guilds are equally part of our server. We work together as TC. If you were actually concerned with the health of the server you wouldn’t single out, much less denounce, a guild that is part of our WvW efforts. You may want to re-examine the groups you have such feelings for as to post about them on the public forums.
Armor is useful to a point but it suffers as all stats do by soft-capping. When budgetting stats all stats have to have their worth compared to one another. When you load up too heavily on one you find your other stats lacking for the minimal gains you have gotten by loading up one stat. For example; a thief who goes full glass can hit harder than a truck but many attacking classes can sweep away 60-70% of their hp very quickly. A mix of defensive traits and gearing while maintaining predetermined offensive thresholds is key. In general i think of how much damage i need to do for my role, how that translates into abilities, utilities, traits, and stats, and then everything i can spare goes to defense.
3900 armor is beyond excessive. Examine your rate of condition clearance, how much vitality you have, what your offensive capabilities, and beyond all of this what role your profession can fill and how to fill it. Taking a measured look at your play will enable you to craft a better build with fewer deficiencies. Remember though there is no omni-build. You will always be weak to something, and sometimes you will just die because of how you have built.

Hey TW you should sit down less then you might build up the chops to win a fight with less than 3.
My personal favorite.
1 guy on an AC, another on a cannon, both of them shooting me and /dancing to no end while their 3 teammates 3v1 me while I’m under siege. When I die they jump over my body and run away.
Assuming that only SoR does that bullkitten is ignorant.
I didn’t say only SoR did it to be fair. And i won’t parade myself around, i am not the best at what i do- just better than some.
Hey TW you should sit down less then you might build up the chops to win a fight with less than 3.
I know the guy, he told me you were trying to snipe his doly! He also said you had a silly back stab that hit him for 900. I lol’d
It probably went something like this:
Asu: “I’m gonna kill ya!”
Random TW: “NOPE!”
Asu: strikes for 900 dmg
Random TW: “Told ya so!”Yeah, i don’t focus crit damage as much as thieves typically do. And in all fairness i was more worried about the yak, but your friend must have a weak constitution to get so worked up over such a weak backstab. I expected more, /yawn. Stay classy SoR, we all know how hard it is for y’all.
So you make a troll post and get called out on you weak performance and then you tell them to “stay classy”. At least BG and JQ put more thought into their troll posts.
Weak performance? different strokes for different folks mate. And a troll post? i was calling out the poor conduct of that Rallian, but of course SoR can do no wrong. Try a little harder to sound genuine next time.
Yeah, i don’t focus crit damage as much as thieves typically do. And in all fairness i was more worried about the yak, but your friend must have a weak constitution to get so worked up over such a weak backstab. I expected more, /yawn. Stay classy SoR, we all know how hard it is for y’all.
I hate yak snipers for forcing people to walk yaks, you should all be killed with max contempt.
but but wxp

I thought you were going to explain how it was an OP combo. I am disappointed that a new use for them has not been revealed to me. Regardless of that though here is a bit of a bump for your topic. As many bugs in the game need to be resolved as possible.
Apparently the days of classy opponents are long gone. /nostalgia
Mad TC players ddos our TS again.. Yay!
Bro that’s some nice paranoia you have there, where can i get some?
Oh of course! I forgot that in this weird revisionist history SoR is in no way responsible for map blobbing- it’s not like they made it a mandate in February when SBI imploded.
SOR, please be civil with TC. You should expect that when a server with so much pride in their wvw skills is getting utterly obliterated, a few of their members are probably frazzled and just came here to vent their frustrations. They have no choice but to resort to the tried and true " your roamers sux" line to make themselves feel better.
TC is only “classy” on the forums when they fight weaker servers……
Tells everyone to be civil with TC; immediately isn’t civil with TC.
Yes i want a buff and an orb mechanic. The buff needs to be impactful, stats is one way to do this- there are surely better ways but we will just have to fight for them.
It’s equally hard, if not harder, to find TC roamers during the past few days as well. Half of them just run away when I wave, while the other half either die too soon or run into structures half-way through battle.
I guess roamers are now a rare species across all servers.
I blame the blob mentality SoR has embraced.
SoR: Who do I sent the rent bill for being hidden in your TCBL Bay for over an hour and a half? I feel like I owe you guys some rent for staying there so long….
No need to pay rent coz you just spent 1 1/2 hours staring at your toon, must’ve been boring lol.
No we TCers are a lively lot. When we aren’t chatting up our guildies about our next RP session we practice RPing as elements in our enemies’ keeps. I believe handin was role-playing as a shrub tonight in bay, working on his leaf flutter in the wind.
Match ups based on glicko need to return, i would like to feel like we can move up a ladder as a server in place of feeling confined to a roll of dice.
I just watched a SOR raid run away when they had more then us O.O
It’s probably a tactical retreat to resupply!
To be fair it actually could be.
Or it could just be sunday… or monday… or tuesday… you get the picture…
I miss blackgate. I love how they will actually stand and fight, whisper our commanders to set up fights, etc. etc.
Even SoR roamers (that rare creature) will turn tail at 75%. Very boring.
Only “good” TC roamers I’ve seen are stupid FOTM perplexity condi-spam engies + mesmers and mace shield warriors. And they normally run in parties of 5+.
Seen nothing but talent from SoS roamers. Some really unique builds, and they don’t bump their chests about their wins, or QQ when they lose. Nothing special about TC roamers :/
Funny i’d say the same of SoR roamers. Only one of note so far and most of the time your roamers form up in groups of 4-8. SoS are much better roamers.
I just watched a SOR raid run away when they had more then us O.O

SoR just proved its “superiority”
At least have the decency to tell your spy to wait a little before sending an entire guild to sweep a tower to find the hiding mesmer.Just cause you got sweeped you cry foul and accuse SoR of spying. Tbh, why would SoR even bother spying SoS lol. No one is interested in spying SoS.
SoR has a win without pause mentality, spying would not be far-fetched in the least.
Lzay I did not claim we are bigger than the wvw population, Im sayign we are a big part of it and the hardcore part of it. If they wish to push us into the ground then thats their decision but they shouldnt do it the way they do it now as its unprofessional and insanely rude towards their customers.
Everyone can agree that the altar system is a good idea, however everyone also agrees that the stat buff should not be implemented for various reasons.
Anet not listening to their playerbase is a bigger concern than this buff in general.
GvG players are a big victim of this on top of problems it would already cause and that is the point that is made.
Insulting GvG or arguing about how big or skilled it is should not be included in that discussion@cimon, enjoy your 24 empty servers with 3 stacked servers blobbing the world
Because you can’t play for ppt and be hardcore?
And no, not everyone agrees that an orb mechanic should not have a stat buff. The buff has to be worthwhile, stats ensure that. We can argue how much of a stat buff it should be, but there are those who think a stat buff is not a bad thing.
That is part of the problem with the GvG community, they stomp around and act like they represent the entirety of WvW and that unless they get everything on their list of demands then there will be no WvW.
Also, the GvG community has been inviting resentment towards itself with how it treats not only Dev livestreams but discussions counter to their positions in general.
You know me Asudem. I know all about that PPT game and was more hardcore about it than most did on TC but I can tell you that stat buff is in no way a positive addition to the game for WvWers or GvG-ers alike. Areanent with their subsequent changes has moved the game to support larger and larger blobs. WXP, then siege being tradeable and now these stat buffs.
The orb bonuses should not have been stat buffs all also should not spread across the whole wvw population. They should have made it so it had buffs such as quicker upgrades, more supply per dolyak. Things that directly add to defense and PPT rather than stats that help blobs and servers with superior coverage. They made a big mistake here again.
Secondly, GvG is very much an active and large part of WvW; however, I agree that ANET needs to separate GvG from WvW but they actually need to come out and say something on the subject or they are going to see a drastic drop in organized wvw population. This doesnt change the fact that arenanet has been kittenting on normal WvW from their patches in the last 6 or so months as well. Orbageddon sucks for us GvG-ers yeah but its equally bad for WvW-ers and PPT players.
The orb mechanic has to have meaningful impact on how WvW is played. I think stat buffs are the most straightforward means of doing this without HAVING TO snuff out all playability. The stat buffs need to be impactful, not overpowered. I wouldn’t mind the buffs not giving stats but unless Anet can devise a way to have the buff effect the gameplay in a meaningful way, which they seem woefully incapable of doing thus why they fell back on a stat buff, the orb mechanic may as well not exist.
10% more hp to all walls and doors per orb. 10% move speed to yaks, or 15% strength to guards. maybe even 5% dmg to siege engines vs walls/doors per orb but that may support the snowball.
^^ stuff like this, is WvW and makes a huge difference in the long term.
I have been thinking along the lines of triple wxp, double gold with quadruple from event completes, and yaks have increased health. Too much?
Where is all the TC chest thumping now?? I think SoR should rub it in your face all week, TC has been clkitten on the forums lately with chest thumping about crushing servers they outnumber.Funny how during Sea and oceanic last week you had Merc sized blobs hitting 500+ ppt bragging about taking all keeps ect… Where all those people go?
So funny
There is nothing to gain score or reward wise from this map. Servers actively involved in a match up would lose almost no players to such a map as i have outlined. This map is for those breaking from WvW, who need to test something, want to arrange a duel, or simply need to buy something quickly. This map would not have components to warrant it major attention of zergs or guild groups, save for organized training and the like- but even then a lot of such groups may want to pressure their training by roaming.
I like thieves, mesmers, and eles as roaming classes; though i could argue warrior.
I’d put money on vizunah
Oh, i would SO watch this.
GvG community lashing out? GvG community is being labelled and looked down upon. WE ARE “PART OF” (thanks for the heads up :P) THE WVW COMMUNITY. We are all WvW guilds 1st, do arranged GvGs 2nd. WvW guilds put 10s of hours in each week to WvW. Thousands and thousands of slaughtered foes a week, they may enjoy 1-4+ hours a week of GvG. So stop labelling “gvg community” and all the vile and hatred towards them.
My guild spends more per week on siege than any die hard true “WvW’r” as they like to think of themselves. My guild kills many many times more foes than these “WvW’rs” my guild earns many more points during their activities than … you get the point.
I know of NO guild in EU (don’t know about US scene) that does GvG and doesn’t do WvW. Each of these good strong guilds looking to challenge themselves in a fair even fight with each other are a boon to their respective communities. When pugs and commanders can’t handle enemy zergs, who looks for the fights, who comes back time and time again to fight the hordes, guilds.
What is so wrong with wanting the option to fight opponents on a level playing field?
I gladly walk into the jaws of death and take whatever WvW throws at us during our raids. Double or triple teaming guilds, huge zergs, bring it on. No complaints, but how about some simple love for the option to fight EVENLY with fellow guilds??
I know i don’t mean that GvG don’t WvW and i’m not many people do. The distinction is what kind of play the player thinks should take precdence and how they act towards certain WvW play-styles. And the vileness? How else to you expect a lot of people to respond when they are insulted, look-down upon, isolated, and ignored. It is the same thing GvG supporters are getting from Anet and a lot of them readily return such attitudes towards their server mates.
I think if GvG got its due attention this would all stop, but that doesn’t excuse behaviors.
Indeed, that is what bother me, why do you expect that Anet takes into consideration the GvG community, that itself shows no consideration to the WvW community ? I have been many times on WvW where we only needed 4k points to get back, hence our major guilds are busy WvW’ing, this is what i dont like about GvG, there are some player’s that are massively involved on WvW, ditching dozens of gold for siege blueprints, scouting towers for hours, and then a guild who could’ve helped them is just sitting on a map, procing queues for their own fun, i find it quite egoistic, the only real solution for GvG is a brand new gamemode or a submode on sPvp. I know i have hyperbolised some points but that is just to explain my point of view, dont hate on me because i am not on the gvg fan boat, i’m just trying to have a correct debate.
(Excuse my bad english )I wouldn’t say the GvG community shows no consideration to the WvW community, they just want to get their own separate platform in order to stop these arguments. And there are also a lot of players in these GvG guilds with hundreds of siege blueprints (For example I know ME has hundreds of each blueprint in the Gbank for everyone to use let alone what each player carries on person) so I’m not sure about this point your making. And yes GvG players do take up queues but there’s nothing they can do about it, and you say we do it for fun (which is true) so who would be so ignorant to deny gamers fun? It’s quite stupid.
I didnt say this, i told on my first post that i am quite neutral regarding this new orb buff and the GvG stuff, i am just telling that GvG, actually, is poor design (By players, because there is anything we can do about it ), GvG is indeed lots of fun, but it is egoistic in regards of the really involved WvW players. My point is not GvG being good or bad, i am mostly trying to tell you guys that you should stop asking for GvG QoL/Optimisation changes, and focus on doing some real GvG mode petitions, because GvG in its actual states could (And it depends on the guilds/servers ) hurt the WvW scene.
I think GvG is good for the game bad for community IN ITS CURRENT STATE. Without resources for GvG the community that supports it with fervor has been lashing out at the rest of the community. The sooner the format gets support the better for the health of the game. It is a valid play-style (pvp deathmatch)it just isn’t getting attention when it should.
Intro:
I believe WvW is in desperate need of more space so i will detail my case for a fourth map, describe it’s layout and functions, and argue how the map i am proposing is good for the health of WvW.
A map essentially needs a few things: space, safe-zones, contested zones, and a purpose that effects gameplay across the other maps.
Space:
The map i propose doesn’t have to be large, it can be smaller than EB if need be, i would probably say making it the size of the borderlands from north gates of bay and hills south would be sufficient.
Safe-Zones:
The map would have a spawn area like the others arranged as they are in EB. Each safe zone would contain siege and mock-ups of a keep lord’s room, supply camp, mercenary camp, and tower lord’s room. Each spawn would have vendors and portals to the 3 others WvW maps and one to LA.
Contested Zones:
Outside of each spawn is a large, mostly flat, uncluttered, sieged looking field. There can be simple terrain changes throughout, even t match which spawn is yours, but the map should be very open, very accessible, and lack towers, keeps, camps, mercenary nodes, and all of the like.
Purpose:
This field is for testing combat against enemy playing to improve your combat skills without fighting for objectives. These design choices are meant to make the zone a training ground and a testing ground for new builds, players, and guilds as to pick up skills and exposure necessary for WvW execution. To fulfill this this map rewards no wxp, no badges, no blueprints, no exp, no karma. There is no bloodlust buff here. This map is the heart of the mists of the WvW. It is a training lobby for all the WvW players. When you enter the map you receive a buff called “boot-camp” that reads: “As long as you remain in the staging grounds you will receive not rewards or boosts.”
Why this would be good for WvW:
WvW maps, especially in higher tiers, are incredibly crowded. Some of the players on those maps simply want to idle in a place that they can jump back into WvW. Others are solo roaming picking fights. Additionally there are dueling clubs and GvG leagues being played across WvW maps. These activities, to a degree, could be better spent in this fourth map where new players would be able to test their mettle along with those looking to improve their play without having to interfere with or disrupt the actual war effort being played out in the borderlands and EBG. This map would also serve as a reservoir for players unable to get into WvW on reset to hop in, watch the scoreboards, and still practice in anticipation of getting their queues to pop.
Additional Notes:
The map does not have to be pretty. The map just has to be functional. This map could be scraped together and improved later on. The sooner a map of this style is released, the sooner i believe the WvW community quality of life with spike.
If you have any comments, suggestions, or criticisms please post them below- let’s improve this idea as much as possible.
Move the queue out of EB please zepher, then players would gladly go there to get rid of that buff, if the buff is not there atleast
it is a separate map, have you been there lately?
You have to go through EB to get to OS, OS is not a solution.
We need a cloned small map with no objectives and no WvW buff to serve as a training grounds. No wxp can be gained there and it has hotm style training areas at each spawn with an open field for fighting
I personally think you should receive more wxp for killing players and defending objectives than taking objectives. Pair more wxp with more karma, gold, and a defensive reward chest that gives siege, money, badges, chance at gear, liquid wxp, and other things and i think that you could make defending very rewarding.
This would add worth to playing WvW as people would be better rewarded, but you’d have to carefully balance it as to discourage assaulting.
