You don’t have the skills required of the content so you don’t get the reward, and the difficulty of the content doesn’t necessarily need to be changed to ensure any player is able to complete it. <- that’s my point

You missed MY point, I WAS able to do 16 achievements(just as the devs had promised when they said I could play this game my way… ie. no pvp), as listed in the section of achievements for this event, however, someone decided that one of the achievements listed would not count for the meta and now it’s my fault?

In a way it is your fault as you should probably realize that the frequenter achievements are never part of a meta and just a way to reward repeated play. Be more careful with selecting achievements for meta progression in the future is my advice.

You would likely benefit from playing GW1 and looking around in GW2. The lore of the human gods is vital to the story-telling of both games as well as for present situations and situations to come. If you find the subject matter that as the human gods tied to to be “old worthless” may i suggest you shop around for a different game because they are tied in with everything. A sincere interest in the human gods by the playerbase could lead to some interesting events in the story and could change and effect the concept of the elder dragons.

And who’s to say the Fall of Abaddon will play out much differently than other dungeons/fractals? Maybe it’ll be pretty much the same as the ascalon fractal (another one set in the past). We simply don’t know anything about either fractal – and it’s silly to suggest that you know in advance which fractal will be better when we pretty much know nothing about them other than their names.

I would like to point out it is not silly to suggest the type or caliber of content we can expect given content of similar stripes, such as thuamanova being related to CoE or the categorized fractal.

To add to the list of fractal attitudes, i was kicked from a fractal group this morning because i am leveling the fractal reward level of my thief. I was told i could not play with the group as my thief but i could bring another class such as my guardian and go. The difficulty level? 20.

But definitely the Evon(Abbadon) supporters seem to be more from the GW1 ‘old guard’ who have been following the lore since many years ago. Except for good old Konig from guru. xD

One of the common mistakes I read is that people think this fractal will be the same fight as in Nightfall, when it is actually the cataclysmic battle that turned the Crystal Sea into the Crystal Desert 1000 years prior. That points to not really paying attention.

I don’t think more casual observers realize that the Abbadon fractal will require a new map and new enemies because of the nature of it, but if we get Thaumanova, we will likely tread through a mostly re-hashed map and fight copy-pasted enemies that we’ve already seen.

Of course some people understand all this and still like Kiel, and that is perfectly fine. It’s a democracy.. kinda. I voted 50 times xD

Technically you’re making the common mistake that the Thaumanova Reactor fractal will take place in the area we can currently access. If you speak with people there, I’m almost certain they say that the accident was caused by Inquest experiments in an area underneath the Reactor. So it -would- be a new area.

Plus wouldn’t the Abaddon Fractal just be a ‘re-hashed version of Orr’, if you’re using that logic?

Abbadon was defeated at the mouth of torment which is part of the crystal desert formerly the crystal sea. May want to read up on lore so you can make more informed statements.

I like Magnus but him having 2 votes (Kiel is his Robin, she will do EVERYTHING he commands and Kiel lacks a lot of personality) on the same individual on a council of equals breaks the power balance.

Just some reminders hoping to affect the final outcome:

- If you’re voting the pretty face, Evon’s first mate is human female and prettier than Kiel.

- If you’re voting for the human, take in consideration that you’re really voting for a Norn (Magnus) as Kiel winning only means 2 votes for Magnus. Aditionally Evon offers the most important battle for humanity in a fractal.

- If you’re voting for the waypoints, take in mind that it is a temporal thing, so you will save like… 30 silver maybe? No big deal compared with permanent content.

- If you’re voting to punish RNG, take in consideration that Evon is just the NPC, it’s an outside game lore decission (and if you’re blaming Evon for that, start blaming him for being able to trade quickly, finding what you want to buy or selling really fast anything you got). Aditionally current iteration of the RNG is akittens best as now you can buy the skins from players so you don’t need to take risks.

While Evon might offer (one of) the most important battle for humanity, Kiel offers insight into the single most important battle for ALL the races, namely the Elder Dragons. Thaumanova has been confirmed to relate to all six of the Elder Dragons, which are far more important than the human gods.

Also, keep in mind that Evon is either manufacturing goods for or dealing directly with the Molten Alliance (and thus Flame Legion), as well working with the Consortium. Neither of which have any good intentions for LA.

The role the gods have played in the events shaping tyria is incalculable. And all signs shows a mirroring between the human gods and the elder dragons. More lore and interaction with the gods and a community desire for more of the gods could mean a very interesting flushing out of elder dragon lore and lore of the dead races. On the other hand Thaumanova was LITERALLY REBUILT as the crucible of eternity. I really fail to see how it could offer us anything lore wise that could not be shown through CoE. But hey let’s all be short-sighted and vote for the human cause you know, luls human.

JQ makes some good pushes, definitely seems like some good scouting work.

FA seems to not want to push JQ at all, tries to bite at TC’s heels, and gets their natural tower taken away from them.

Ah, we did lose a few badges but they were quickly regained a few minutes later. When we rolled back through and cleared the keep out. I made more money on FA last night then JQ. At least they new when to run. All FA did was drop on the floor and give me loot bags.

DIS wasnt looking too hot last night against an outmanned FA force. I guess when TC rolls around in 50 man blobs its pure skill and killing 20 players is a big deal.

Last night was a blast on JQ bl. Had a ton of fun skirmishing with JQ and our old pals( read: foes) FA. Looking forward to great week of WvW.

People who have difficulty with thieves are just like me who had difficulty with guardians and d/d eles i think. I had to learn from my enemy and play as my enemy to learn how to defeat my enemy. Thieves are far from invincible but you have to be willing to learn and adapt.

Sure you can look up guides but that ruins the experience, however the experience is an ugly mess. Nobody here wants as many players as TC has. That’s just silly that the game puts that many players in one area. If it were doubled, the lag fest would make it unplayable, and serve as the primary reason for why people leave t1 and t2 servers.

On opening night I saw a blob of 40 tc, then another 40 joined from their hiding spot by garrison. That was hilarious, as we didn’t even match the numbers of the first 40. Later, we took back garrison with the out-manned buff on. Am I complaining while saying this? No. Of course not. I rarely died, and I made a metric ton of loot. As did my fellow guildies.

You guys are coming off as talking down to the way we play, and free-spirited enjoyment of the game. It’s a little over-the-top. Get a grip. I’m sure there will be 5 separate chapter-length responses to this. Perhaps dissecting it down to “you play for loot, we play to win”, or “nice points, bro”, or even “it’s not our fault you don’t have players”.

If your team is dying more than us, then you lose imo. Nobody cares about the score at the end of the week. That’s why people come to Maguuma, because we would rather just kill people and laugh at them.

I agree to an extent- whether or not a week is a win for anyone depends on the caliber of fights for me. Also every server has WvWers that rather kill then cap. Capping is a reward for the killing in my eyes.

Rethesis makes their movements very public. They had a huge thread basically asking to be recruited, and when that failed, they went to TC. This was after following WM to SOS or Kaineng (can’t remember which at this point).

Comparing that to a guild who has apparently been on one server until very recently would be very strange.

And what makes you think the thread failed? RE carefully considered where they wanted to transfer to, as any guild should when it comes time for them to transition.

You’ll be delighted to know that what you’ve “seen” is far from the norm, given that our enemies don’t try to roll in a full queue blob.

It still baffles me how anyone on TC can ever delude themselves into thinking they’re outnumbered. I don’t think anyone on TC has ever fought a single fight while outnumbered, with the exception of very few guilds (ZN, TSL, EP maybe?)

TC faces fights outmanned in greater frequency than even i thought we would. That said in general we outnumber our opponents in confrontations when i am present, which is for a myriad of reasons.

First, great fights last night on EB, FaTe appreciated the great fights and sometimes being outmanned and sometimes not. Sometimes we won open field sometimes we didn’t. Yes the server population differences will impact us week to week, but bring the fight smartly where and when you can. For those who doubt population makes all the differnence Mag started out strong at reset at one of their best coverage times, as the night went on they dwindled and the maps and scores reflected that. We maintained a strong presence is EB, and ok presence in SOS BL.

When we made pushes into TC areas 80 man zergs show up. Two things I noticed. Our SOS BL would spike temporarily in PPT and in map control. As they claimed a tower or two and defended the SM they would withdraw leaving more equal numbers and we could push again rather than play defense.

A zerg stacking for 25 might buffs, swiftness, and stealth is never bad and should be done frequently, which makes conditions and hits both hit harder, evening out number disparity. Any commander who says its a bad idea is either crazy or new. When you are in a zerg finish the downed and if you are downed aimed for enemy downed for rallies they can make all the difference in the world.

SoS brings the fights no matter the odds and I’m proud of that. Is there a magic formula to win without wipes? Nope, its going to happen, using good strategies can and will reduce some bad wipes. We need more people sticking to one commander on each map. While there are times for a two pronged approach, when an 80 man zerg is capping something T3, its not the time. More than 2 commanders on a map is just stupid unless they are running together in the same place.

As for some bored folks who left, I wish them well and hope they find what they are looking for. If you are reading this you probably are well versed in WvW. If you are not though, join a guild with a competent commander or 2 and strengthen that guild and the server as a whole. Organization can make up for less numbers, and success will pull in more players which will lead to more success. The next best thing you can do is show up.

Just some thoughts. See you on the field and I hope for more great fights and bags for all.

It’d be nice to have real match ups again. Getting tired of fair weathers coming out in a zerg and giving my server a bad name of running from field fights. KH thrives on field fights and hates zerging, but it’s hard to find fights when zergs steal the life from our opponents and they stop showing up.

It was nice to run into KH being split off from the CERN/TSL/PINK/whatever the hell zergs all night tonight. Props for not going full blob.

Because drp and PYRO weren’t running a big blob, oh wait….
