TCBL on reset was awesome facing NAGA,EP,ESP,NOPE. Too bad SoS was a no show on that borderland(except for the vultures that took our east side camps instead of putting some pressure on their west side but whatever), which allowed for TC to focus solely on Mag.
You guys did very well, the D$RP and VR groups were a cut above what we have been facing lately in these screwed up match ups and gave us a shock. We’ll have to shake off the rust for ya’ll.

Not really. There’s nothing wrong with Tier 1. For all intents and purposes it is “balanced”.
TC is the common denominator for the same complaint that has been made in every T2 match up thread for weeks.
And I harbour no ill will toward TC. It is my go-to guest server when I need to. I simply recognize the problem and the most logical solution.
Then why are so many of your posts in your current matchup thread about transfers to T1 with none of them mentioning how those guilds should be going to lower-ranked Servers?
You are disingenuous to the utmost. You never suggested guilds transfer off BG when you were dominating T2 for months. You also know that in this random match system there is a decent chance that TC will be facing one or more T1 Servers in a match and that any of the current “top 3” Servers can drop down into a match with lower-ranked opponents.
So please, just stop with the concern trolling and go back to your T1 Thread ok?

Why should guilds from Tier 1 be going to lower ranked servers? Tier 1 is not creating a perpetual imbalance within itself to the extent that TC is steamrolling the other two servers its matched with. I already posited that TC can go to T1 to balance T2, or they could go to the rest of T2. I favour the latter. And breaking up Tier 1, which is the arena for high-concurrency, international wvw, doesn’t make any sense. It’s a niche, people like it. Just like people like small-scale wvw in the lower tiers.
When BG was dominating Tier 2 for months, the old-school ladder was still in place. We were actually making progress. TC, in the new system, is more than ever, stuck. Furthermore one of the servers was moving down, we never created a 4 servers 1 tier scenario that exists right now. The fact that TC has a slim chance of getting matched in Tier 1 doesn’t mean they should balance for Tier 1. Balancing for Tier 2 means they are more likely to stay with T2 and lower.
And what of us that enjoy our home on TC and want to face T1 servers as equals?

TC dispersing won’t fix anything. They will occasionally pop into T1 under this broken and stupid system and get crushed if they dispersed (even moreso than now).
The system itself is broken, blaming TC is not the solution.
No, they won’t. The system more than ever will stick JQ, BG, SoR together. And when TC, FA and DB (or whoever is in T2) acclimate their ratings, they will be stuck together too. That’s how it works.
On the small chance T2 pops into T1 through the RNG, it is still smarter to balance for the more frequent T2 matches, than to balance thinking, “Well one week we might get bumped up.”

That was the furthest thing from realism you could have possibly said.
The ONLY solution to this mess is in TC’s hands, and that’s transferring off of TC. You’re single-handedly making this a problem for hundreds, if not thousands of players by perpetuating this “Tier 1.5” nonsense.
Here’s the truth. There can’t be 4 “super servers”. Even if TC miraculously got the transfers to compete with Tier 1, one server will always be bumped into Tier 2 to ruin the game for hundreds of others.
Who has the immediate power to fix this? TC.

tc does not need 10-15 guilds to compete in t1 LOL that would be overkill. All they would need is
1x 20-30 man oceanic guild to go with there sea
1 × 20-25 man euro
tc has the na numbers to fight t1 and the sea to also do it
No your SEA is way smaller than ours and we were outmanned most of the time when we fought JQ and BG. Unless TC has had an influx of SEA guilds you wouldn’t stand a chance in that time frame
Also SoR has the smallest SEA in that Tier, so I wouldn’t base it off of that

Yes this match-up kind of blows for morale, but I think it is important to remember that even if Kaineng finishes dead last this week, we can still gain rating points here! We are not supposed to win this matchup, in fact every point we do take is a win.
Yes it might feel overwhelming to face TC with their superior numbers and so many of our old friends fighting on their side, but it is not a useless fight by any means. It is just time to whip out the Guerrilla tactics. Take that camp. Kill those Dolyaks. Spend this week training for future matches. Don’t look too closely on the overall score, focus on accomplishing the small things, and take pride in doing that.
I have heard of some seriously awesome fights so far this match, so it is really worth while logging in, even though the overall score looks kind of lop sided.
And I hope that everyone can get over the fact that we are now facing friends in the field. No one predicted this, so let’s make the best of the hand dealt. We in Dii also lost several of our core WvW-ers to TC, but you wont see us giving up or hating on the people who opted to leave Kaineng. Nor will you see any Dii-ers “spying” on Kaineng (or on TC), everyone is just playing to have fun and experience the game the best they can.

Hi, i get the feeling you were responding to me on FA bl just a little while ago. I didn’t port hack i ran in through the zerg and hopped cliffs over to the SE outer. From there i kept running to kill ballistas.
Were you able to kill the ballistas while 4 of us stood there watching it die?
I could drop aoes on it, didn’t matter. It just died. There’s a pair of mesmers out there too… no guild tags… no nothing.. they just go poof and they’re gone, and then like 30-40 seconds later you catch another glimpse of them, and then they’re gone.
..and then you see them in your lords room killing carts without agro’ing guards, and as soon as you click on ’em poof gone…..

It would be better for our server Kaineng to boycott WvWvW for a week and escape this imbalanced matchup. The then bandwagon (WM, CO, RISE, RE, Meow, XF, etc.) Kaineng wasn’t able go through the needle that is TC and FA T2 to go to T1. Do you expect a weaker server now void of these bandwagoners (even these bandwagoners are now on the other side) fare well with this same matchup?
I just don’t want CHIPSY and RE and KN bandwagoners to FA if there are any having the idea that what they did was right getting out of KN. Better lose rating by boycotting this just to flip KN’s finger to them and to the matchup in general.
I know it’s a game. But to be in full control of the situation sometimes you gotta be in full control of the path of the server that it is treading. You just don’t force yourself fighting the invincible zergs of T2 servers which sadly house the prolly now gloating exKNs. Boycott the matchup and let them TC and FA farm each other. Uphold your pride and honor and don’t give them an impression that KNs are walking lootbags.
Personally i think there is a lot of pride and honor in outplaying the odds and still bringing it every night like i know KN can.

You know what… I’m done with this event. I’m not grinding for another achievement only to see it not count for anything. I’ve finished ten achievements, slugged through all the grinds, put up with AFK players in Dragon Ball, and now I have nothing to show for it.
I have patience in this matter, but the sheer lack of competence on Anet’s side is severely testing it.
If you feel you’ve been grinding your way through the holiday you should probably not be doing the holiday events. Unless you are grinding for a specific item like the wings in which case you have to express your willingness to Anet’s terms in getting them.

Yeah what kitten me off the most was the dragon ball arena achievement. i spent a good 2.5 hr for the kitten 20 wins and after that anet decided that all the time i wasted was for their enjoyment.
I think my time in dragon ball was well spent- i was initially under the impression dragon bash was to require 12 achievements to get the shattered wings but this was change to 10 before the june 11th release. Have some patience and if they do require ten then wait 2 days.

The system is dependent on 3 server match ups in order to give some sort of balance to coverage; we can argue effectiveness but it is clear that match ups are dependent on 3 servers being present and that no server should be allowed to vote no contest. All that said, it is discouraging that someone would feel the way you do- this really exemplifies what is wrong with the current match up system.

Let me get this straight. The answer to “fixing” the problem with the meta-achievement for the Dragon-Bash was to remove the Dragon Ball achievements from the meta? Seriously?
This is akin to spitting on the people who have already spent the time in the poorly implemented and altogether “unfun” activity.
I applaud you for realizing that these two achievements were tedious and seen by the playerbase as entirely too high of a number to be a fun thing to do. But, why remove them from counting for the meta? Why not allow your players to choose between doing Dragon Ball (a tedious game/achievement) or spending a ton of money gambling away on Moa Races (a huge slap in the face to the community since we have been complaining about RNG based things since day one).
Honestly, I love GW2, but since launch, it has become clear that the powers that be do not understand what the playerbase wants and needs for the game to continue to be fun and engaging. I want choice and fun, not what we have seen in this event.
This game may not be for you in its current implementation; i for one enjoyed dragon ball immensely and still play it even though i have long since earned the achievements.

Oh yes definitely, that’s a natural consequence of having more players (of which a large proportion are from PvE).
I’ve noticed that you guys say this a lot: that you have a large amount of PvE’ers. It certainly seems like you’re implying that this is the reason you have bad players. . . .
That’s all and well, but I can tell you that we don’t even consider guesting on TC anymore when we (God forbid!) have to PvE karma train in Orr. We never see anyone there. Hell, just yesterday we tried to guest on TC to run a few quick CoFs and, of course, the dungeon was contested and no one was anywhere on the map to un-contest it.
In my experience, you have no more PvE’ers than any other T4 server and above.
That’s funny because i spend a lot of time in fireheart rise and orr when i am not in WvW and there are always people there.

You do realize that you’re not required to complete the new achievements, nor are you required to purchase anything from the Gem Store… right? They’re all optional.
Of course. But it’s supposed to be additional, fun content, am I wrong? Honestly their game isn’t even finished or optimized yet and in my opinion they’re wasting their time by adding busy work “content” instead of fixing common complained about topics, like right-mouse click targeting, PvE culling, dungeons, build diversity and class importance, etc.
MMOs are never meant to be finished, that is the nature of a MMO. It is a living, evolving game genre. And frankly you know that people will always complain regardless of what the devs do.

I’m disappointed that Anet thinks a money sinks, some skins, and grinding achievements, are passable as content..
The skins are decent. Most I think are ugly, but that’s why there are already plenty of skins in the game for different options for different players, so I won’t complain about the skins…except it is ridiculous that it’s complete RNG and luck in order to get these skins.
Then the achievements…like 100 fireworks and 150 pinatas…how are those fun? Running through LA to hit “F” a 250 times on multiple characters or multiple times a day? This is not the excitement or content that I saw in GW1, and definitely did not expect from GW2. All of the content releases so far, with FotM as an exclusion, have been mediocre and, for the most part, temporary.
It seems to be all about the gem store and making money, now….much greedier Anet than the Anet I knew from GW1.

Let’s be realistic. Everybody on tc claims that winning by this much isn’t fun. but that’s not quite true, is it? tc has more people on this week than in any of the previous two weeks. Even though it may not be fun for the guilds, or the people who care enough to post on the forums, for the rest, for the majority of players, playing is so much more fun and easy when you know you can’t fail.
The amount of QQ in this thread is unbearable. I’ll provide the inverse of your statement for you:

Very classy from NAGA, trolling CD north camp. There’s a lot of difference in being defeated and getting stomped with multiple concussion. You just can’t learn anything after that.
Could you be more specific with the circumstances you are talking about? pm me if you have to, i am just curious because there have been times where i have set up an impromptu fortified defense of the northern camp to just deny it from my enemies.
Not sure how more specific i can be. TC mega zerg just turn everything Blue in CD border by capping that camp and these guys proceeds to build 2 rams and a catapult right at the portal just for the fun of it.

Very classy from NAGA, trolling CD north camp. There’s a lot of difference in being defeated and getting stomped with multiple concussion. You just can’t learn anything after that.
Could you be more specific with the circumstances you are talking about? pm me if you have to, i am just curious because there have been times where i have set up an impromptu fortified defense of the northern camp to just deny it from my enemies.

Im kind of on the fence who i’d like to face next week.
On one hand, I like SoR because (I don’t mean any offence by this), but SoR is very easy to kill; and because there are so many of them it’s basically a lootbag fest. You eventually get overrun by sheer numbers so there is room to learn better strategies to deal with overwhelming numbers.
Our old T2 opponents provide more competitive battles and the fights are generally more even; but the flip side is, there is not as much loot. Numbers hurt them as well as they don’t have the coverage.
I’m curious as to what BG and JQ can bring. Don’t really care about the points, but I’m curious to see how other servers fair in straight on battles.
Anyone who believes they faced a full force SoR is delusional. But by all means, please continue to underestimate your enemy.

Time for my mandatory post I make in every one of these threads.
The only thing making the thief OP is how stealth itself works. If you block an attack from the one in stealth or dodge their attack, they are not instantly forced out of stealth and given reveal. Due to this, this can fall back and try again. Give them the reveal the second their attack is blocked or dodged however, and suddenly we’ll see less problems with the class in WvW.
This could be a fix but we’ll either need some mobility or survivability to compensate

Is this suppose to be something new and unheard of? There are already countless threads stating the same thing. I’m guessing some thief rolled you and you had to post on the forums?
Thief was made to be bursty, and has been stated. If you don’t like having been essentially 1 shotted, I suggest you look to your gear and apply some more toughness and vitality. Too many people going into WvW with their full zerker setup they use in PvE and expecting to roll people the same way as NPCs.
Please be more mindful of your posts like this.
The point is they have the BURST and the MITIGATION… Not sure there’s any other class that has it in such abundance as a theif. Plus they are just plain unfun to play OR play against.

fix it. No reason that a class should have so much mitigation (i.e. stealth) in it and damage burst. No way a class should be able to go into a 20 man zerg without fear of dying. Get in trouble? Go into stealth and run.
While thieves are able to do what you list, in order to maximize or even do one very well a sacrifice has to often be made in another. I move fastest when i give up some stealth, i survive most when i give up damage. It is a trade off and your post reeks of frustration and ignorance.

No need to get negative. Even though you are getting utterly destroyed when the previous week you thought you may have stood a chance against a tier 1 server.
One player, once upon a time, mentioned that “no one really knows if there’s a gap between T2 and T1” because it’d been static for so long.
You have decided that because of that one remark, ALL T2 SERVERS, especially TC, seem to think we could beat T1 servers.
That is not the case, and never has been….yet you have made it your personal troll campaign and odd obsession for the past couple months. No one from TC went into this week expecting to do amazingly well against SoR. SoR, for all intents and purposes is a “T0” server, not a T1 server, anyway.
If TC was going to be even partially comparable to a T1 server, it would be JQ, and even then that wouldn’t be a win…it would just be a more fair fight than this week has been.
Compounding this week was our obvious 50% attendance yesterday because of this stupid dragon event. These stupid ANet events annoy the hades out of me.
Aurust – Please drop this silly campaign. No one in TC feels the way you somehow got it in your head that we do. Seriously…no one thought we’d stand a chance against SoR. Like…no one.

Troll all you want, but sunday and monday nights we queued 3-4 maps and ticked for +350 both times. Last night we barely had half population on all maps. You can discount that as a fact all you want, but the fact remains that this happens on TC every single event-launch day. No one is “blaming” anything. It’s just a statement of fact.
AGAIN: no one thought we could beat SoR. No one said we might. No one even expected us to come close to a tie.
I suggest that you read next time before trolling. I don’t know what your obsession with T2 is, or what your superiority complex stems from, but I suggest you figure that out and maybe consider transferring…

Monday night SoR was ticking at +220.
TC was ticking at +355.
Given that I was not talking about coverage gaps, I’d say my suspicions were rather confirmed, were they not? Even last night, with our severely reduced attendance, we passed SoR in PPT a couple times.
As far as condescendingly patronizing people….I doubt you have the ability to “finish.”

No, it’s not your imagination. Most SoR I’ve encountered run if they are evenly matched and only want to play when the odds are at least 2-to-1.
I really wish they would come out and play when the scales of power are even, and not heavily weighted in their favor. But hey, it just makes the bags of those I catch trying to get to the zerg that much sweeter.
Sorry, you guys are simply too strong for us to ever win in an even fight.
All our commanders are completely stumped over the fact you guys didn’t break into T1 and simply take over everything. I just wish SoR could get it together like TC has, I just have never seen such a level of skill and dedication since I started this game at launch. You guys should be proud and celebrate this achievement.

I would like to commend SoR on their level if patience. It must take a lot of patience to wait for enough numbers to show up before they come out of their t3 walled keeps.
I am interested in seeing the inside of one of your keeps later today, as I’m sure, with so much manpower inside, you guys put it to good use redecorating and the interior looks fabulous?

This is why I love to bash on TC. When they are winning their match ups they are forum white knights riding high upon their mighty forum positivity steeds.
A few more days of TC getting absolutely demolished, (let’s not kid ourselves here, SOR has resorted to keeping attendance low and playing on lowbie alts to somewhat even out the terms to keep us entertained, not to mention a guild flat out temporarily transferring to find competitive fights), and we will see this forum flooded with their QQ.
Its OK TC, we will roleplay your server, tell you to keep your chin up and maintain a positive attitude, as we wreck everything around you and make all your base our base.
No need to bother roleplaying, SoR acts exactly as you have described TC as acting- save for the giving advice and critiquing their opponents in one of the most condescending fashions possible.
