the raids are a joke compared to raids in cataclysm (wow) and yet people tryhard on ‘em.
first it was the ap and the zerk meta toxic mentality. now it’s li and wannabe pro/delusional tryhards.
What are we talking here? LFR? Normals? Heroics? What about mythics now? 10v 25?
MFW my guild for newbie raiders has better VG splits
Raids are not impossible for newcomers but they certainly are impossible and SHOULD BE impossible for people like you Phoenix.
Let me give you the perspective of a guild leader and raid leader about why people are responding to you the way they are.
I have a group of 10 people, who have allocated their time and resources to raiding for a night. These people have been given assurances that we are all likeminded and looking to work together to progress through content. People who are unwilling to play roles the raid needs, or wear gear appropriate for the DPS, healing, and tanking requirements of an encounter get benched. Why? Because they are not working for the team; they are saying ‘I am more important than 9 other people who have just as much right as I to be there’ . You in the same way that you defend your personalized builds, with all the fervor of a high schooler on summer break without a job and too much time on their hands, are signalling to all of us that you think you are more important than the rest of the raid team.
If your build is better than another explain why, show footage, or give math supporting your claim. Most people organizing raids or leading guilds should be able to follow along just fine. When someone tells you to change your build to synergize with someone else in the comp, don’t get kitteny and throw a fit like you have this entire thread.
The raid scene isn’t the problem; the problem is your attitude- and the sooner you pick up on that the sooner someone may be willing to waste their time and give you a a chance.
We are a new guild formed from a core of familiar players whose life circumstances have largely excluded them from participating in raids until now. To that end we have decided to form a guild to try and recruit players with limited experience and gear in order to provide a raiding experience for more players. Our goal is to level, gear, and learn together and to make raiding more accessible to a wider segment of the population.
We ask that our members have some individual drive to improve their gear and their play, but paired with that to have a desire to help one another progress.
Our current intentions are to raid at least two days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays at 10pm EDT for 1.5 hours a night. We are only a few days old as a guild, and as such are trying to hammer our details and accommodate our members.
We ask that applicants at the minimum have exotic equipment with appropriate runes and sigils. If you are borderline due to expensive sigils go ahead and apply.
We as a group routinely run dungeons, fractals (of all level ranges), do map farms, and run guild missions in order to improve our gear and to kit out alts.

Could we get clarification from players and Anet on how the change in division placement based on season 2 rankings affects the division crossing achievements for The Ascension back piece?
How exactly rewards, in regards to achievement credit, from previous tiers are delivered is not fully stated in the patch notes, so anecdotal evidence from players able to log on and Anet employees would be helpful.
I imagine for those casual players who have not completed their division crossing achievements, this new system would “unfairly” penalize them. Is this the case in game, and if so should Anet do anything about it?
(edited by Moderator)
So with a map rotation system, stability fixes, balanced population, reward system, new scoring system and GvG support I’ll probably reinstall the game.
Seems you’re on the right track there besides for GvG support where nothing ever happens.
guild hall arenas?
I messaged sus.
For me and alot of others on TC having open lines of communication is important (even more so after our coms were sabotaged by a group of people).
Idk, i recall TC being very reluctant to even using comms during playing.
People who move on from the server have no obligation to keep your comms up for you, especially when you make it clear you don’t appreciate their work. Just sayin’
Which is why we are alot more careful now about the kind of people who control our coms. We are alot better now without those people on the server. Maybe the reluctance of certain members of TC to use coms in the past was also linked to the behaviour of those people that ran it, as it is, this is no longer a problem.
Makes sense, given that some of the people involved now were still part of the organization 2 years ago, predating the group you are talking about. Surely it wasn’t everyone leaving until the hugbox was all that was left.
Glad to hear communication is no longer a problem with TC, good knows way too many people spent way too much time trying to get things working. Funny how we stumble upon panacea.

I apologize for all the obnoxious thieves in this thread- i think most of us appreciate BV being unblockable, but realize that A) that it is insanely strong to the point of being possibly broken and B) overkill with the other balancing changes.
Take note- that many of the bandwagoning thieves you will see coming back into frame lately will be the sort to yell l2p, when they refused to do the same when our lives became hard.
Balancing in this game is practically a caricature of itself :/
Heya …
Precognition preview changes say “no more invuln, it’s now 3 times aegis”.
Change it to blur again. Invulnerability was too game breaking for enemies like Vale Guardian (you KNOW this is only about VG green fields), agreed. The only problem why this skill didn’t stay blur in the first place was because of pvp. Therefore make it prevent capture points and it’ll be fine.
Aegis just doesn’t fit the concept of PRECOGNITION, the ability to forsee enemy actions! Aegis is also not reliable with multi hits or all the auras in raids. With aegis, this well will just go from top to flop and will be never seen again in raids. Aegis is for chaos storm, not Well of Precognition.
Just my input.
Greez!
Madame Le Blanc :|
Precog also needs to not affect skritt in stronghold, but yes- aegis is the wrong way to go.
how did you get to ruby without keybinds? :O
Each skill has 2 slots for keybinds. I use the secondary keybind slots on my keymapping so my action bars reflect the original assigned keys- even though i don’t use them. I assume OP does the same.
That music is not for his fight. During the first summer festival, called dragon bash it was the song used to promote the event. The holiday was a celebration of killing the dragon Lts. around tyria and featured a massive holographic Shatterer that would swoop around Lions Arch and roar.
They are referring to the song to remind players that the initial impressions of the shatterer were that it was an epic design for a mob and encounter (albeit absurdly simple). This patch is about restoring the shatterer’s glory and so they linked back to this song to remind people of dragon bash, their initial encounters with the shatterer when they explored blazeridge, and what he should be as a world boss.
@Asudementio I the idea of roaming, like the playstyle I’ve seen from thief seems fun but I want to find a more viable class to fill that, I don’t really like the bunker builds or anything like that, always been more fond of damage > tankiness with whatever classes I play
scrapper (engineer elite spec) may be a nice compromise and change of pace for you. I would take a look at it if i was you.
Thanks for another insanely expensive addition to the game! Great job! I’m sure all the people spending 1k gold on this single piece of armor are super pleased at their elite status. Them and the bots should throw themselves a party on the devs dime.
Who thought 10k drinks was anywhere remotely near reasonable? Were people not enraged enough at finding out how expensive night fury was?
Can anyone explain what the point of adding content the vast majority of people can’t afford is? Why did this become the grindiest game in the world?
Given that i basically used winterday content to earn my winter’s presence i am quiet satisfied. Gold is the great equalizer in this game in that it allows you to put effort into different activities and make gains in others. For those who hoard gold it was easy for them to buy the skin, but in doing so they shifted wealth to gold poor and more time rich players. Furthermore, people who bought the skin put time into the game in otherways to be able to achieve the result- unless they bought gems but hey if they bought gems at least people got some gold-gem exchange boost from it.
All of this said, i don’t think that 10k was the most reasonable number for the achievement but it was certainly doable given that comes out to 450 presents a day. Even being conservative that comes out to able 2-3 hours of play a day for equivalent gold return as doing wintersday content. This means that if you focused on minigames and events tied to the holiday and its skin you could get it. For a “status” item that amount of time investment kind of makes sense (that’s about 70 hours total).
To address your final point, there should be content out of reach of most players. exclusive skins allow people to set goals, and invest more resources in the game. The vast vast vast vast vast majority of content in this game is easily accessible and achievable- a few items every few months that only a few have keeps the whales, achievement hunters, and other hard core players going is good in my opinion. Most games in the MMO scene thrive when they have a varied playerbase.
Hey guys, relatively new to pvp in gw2, just swapped over from WoW, queued high rated 3’s for the passed few years but the game is going down hill so wanted something new, what are some of the better classes for pushing in gw2? So far I’m pretty fond of thief and revenant but just wanted some opinions, thanks
ignoring the above poster, you may wish to stay with revenant at the current time given to how strong it is against the most common builds and abilities you will encounter. Thieves are viable to a degree but are heavily dependent on their teammates experience and builds to be able to maximize their effects. Solo queueing places thief players in bad positions as they may not be in a position to rotate or +1 properly, while revenants bring enough in their load-outs to be able to address most unfavorable situations better.
If you state what role you are trying to fill in PvP, or the mindset you hold in approaching team fights, secondary objectives, and rotating onto enemy targets we may be able to suggest other classes for you.
Nah just stomped a team full of +1’s. The big upside of not being in a team of those was that we killed their lord on third minute then just roflstomped what was left for fun.
It’s almost like they are meant to add to a basic team comp rather than be an exclusive component of it. About the only thing you can get away with stacking a team with are builds with a bunkering capacity. A build that is decide to tip stand offs between bunkers by +1ing is likely not able to counter bunkers on a parity basis nor survive tons of AoE pressure. It would then stand to reason that if you fought a comp of said players that’d you outsustain them and have a reasonably easy time.
But let’s strip away all context and sense and just laugh at how bad +1 builds are, and not how broken bunkering is- which i guess bunkering has to be strong right because the whole format of capture the point is dependent on stopping decaps, it’s not like reasonable team fighting and rotation should be the dominant factor in deciding capture point outcomes… /s
Supreme (calling you out, Idc tbh if you reply. just want people to read this and understand) is a prime example of why assassin classes, Thief in this game, are incapable of ever being viable passed release.
Assassin classes (they said Thief wouldn’t be, but we all know) are predicated and created on the idea that players with little to no knowledge of the game will be easy targets for them and those with higher knowledge will be fair game, the “I wish Thief could 1v1” concept. However, players refuse to admit that they have no idea how to learn to play – now you know where it came from- and then blame a class and its mechanics. No where in this games history has Thief EVER been game breaking, not as far as I can remember anyway. Maybe potent as it should be, but not flat out overpowered. However, players like Supreme prefer answers to be handed to them instead of reading into the problem and figuring it out. For instance, today’s Thief dies to weakness which is very easy to apply for MANY classes. On the downside, people don’t realize why Weakness is a powerful condition- reduces damage by 50% and reduces endurance regeneration by 50%. Something to note here, this killed Pistol Whip, and this killed “evade spam”. This condition also makes it near impossible to properly fight a Ranger as they get it when struck and also gain Protection.
Anyway, food for thought. Just wanted to offer that.
Last thing- Supreme:
1) your common video is literally a handful of months into the game, and follows the typical “game released, I haven’t played long, but obviously Assassin class is broken. as always, and I know everything about the game”
2) pointing fingers to make yourself look the hero, makes you look the villain. but keep it up, the transparent troll in you is already showing
3) But then Build D, crushed by Build A’s 9 and 10 point, can rise from the 5 position to the 9 position. This is balance. There is no perfect balance, there never will be. Buffs kill, nerfs kill. Buffs save, nerfs save.Have a wonderful day, going to do that thing where I make sure my team loses pips 3 matches in a row because I refuse to play anything other than Thief.
What are you?..ha yes the 1001 thief who tell other to L2P..such originality.
Can’t you guys change the theme of your song? It has been the same one since launch. The best part of these type of answer is…they’re just a wall of text, and obviously lack logic.
Seen as you tell others to L2P, it must be obvious that you play their own profession better than them…then kittening prove it with a video and not empty words.
But hey..in over 4 years not a single thief ever showed a video of them playing another class in non bunker spec against thief
Keep telling to yourself how great you are..keep living in that “delusion of grandeur”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Thief-1-Helseth-0/firstIndeed 10k dmg backstab from stealth are totally legit and require loads of set up and skill …oh kitten…no more 10k dmg backstab apparently ..everybody went tank mode to avoid being instagibbed…time to buff thief dmg because why not?!
You never saw mediguards fighting theives or are mediguards bunkers??
Tempests are in a good spot and consider them one of the least “gimmicky” builds. They are reliable and I swap to play one if there’s none on the team.
Remember staff-less tempests suffer from poor mobility, low hp pool, low-ish damage output.
If you play carrion Reaper then yes, the ds tempest and certain daredevil builds will counter you. A power necro can handle daredevils well. As for the tempest, you will need to rework your traits, swap amulets and maybe start playing one to better understand their mechanics.
Ele hasn’t been in a good spot for ages.
4 ele and a thief?
gg only has two places
1) at the end of a close, well fought match you genuinely enjoy.
2)against kittening scrubs that you want to demoralize back to cursed shore
Have you ever thought that you are just bad at the game and have low mmr? I know this is crazy to you but.. you are probably bad at the game too if you get matched with newbies.
That gauntlet is down there for ya anytime ya want to take it up.
What is your goal? to win, to have fun, to master a class that fits your self-image?
Daredevil is a ton of fun, i play it because i enjoy its pacing and mechanics- you should play it too if that’s the case, but if your goal is to win realize that at times you will have to very much outplay your opponent to achieve results. Bad thieves and daredevils are a dime a dozen, trust me i keep their company, and all they do is cause a team problems.
There are a lot of reasons for this, but sufficient to say- the nature of the meta renders our ganking ability and teamfighting overall worse than a lot of other classes. We can still perform great, and at time be the tipping factor for your team, it just takes some attenuation of expectation and solid work.
I say give it a go, but be ready to practice a lot and get yelled at by randoms even more often.
Withdraw still needs 10%
This
also hey Luto.
I dont understand one thing. I assume if i unlock second part of ascension now and start doing class archs i will be getting credits for both part 1 and part 2.
Howered will i carry these unlocked ascension parts to next league or do i have to start over unlocking them again?
Achievements go from Dec 1 this year til Dec 1 2016. They carry cross leagues/seasons within that year as far as we have been told.
We need a pile of salt finisher that you get when you make the amulet. Stomp someone and bury them on a pile of salt with a crying quaggan on top. Would be 10/10
I just carefully looked into new lege back achieves and realize that crossing from emerald to sapphire now before I finish first tier can be serious setback in later division cross achieves. Ofc it can be potentionaly retroactive but who knows. Better stay somewhere in last tier of emerald for those few days (and count that cross to tier 2) then wait few months for another season to finish it:-P
Yea no need to worry about that.
Not all achievements are tied to the tier of meta they reside in. For example the crossing divisions and the buying of essence items for shards of glory are independent and can be completed at any time regardless of if you are working on Year of Ascension part 1,2,3, or 4.
Go ahead and check it out in your achievements and you should see you have credit for it in Year of Ascension 2.
The name of the game is “Guild Wars”
Yes, it’s annoying as a solo but conquest was designed for team play not solo play. Playing as a solo in an environment now designed for guild teams is at your own risk. The people who play in trios, quads, five mans are winning because the conquest match type rewards superior team communication/coordination.
In all seriousness, if you sit back and give it some thought, why would you expect to get good win rates a solo join in a team oriented environment?
Not trolling, just pointing this out.
You literally Just Asking Questions off
It is entirely reasonable to be expect to be able to solo queue and make progress if you expect to be queued with people of similar experience and capability as you.
Right now we have a system that puts 5 yolo queuers with a newly minted rabbit on their team to tank their win rates against premades (hyperbole but meant to illustrate a point).
The current system punishes people for being competent and shuffles people into a more restrictive guild team environment. If the meta were any worse and people absolutely had to be in a guild or premade team to be able to even compete then this game mode would be solidly dead.
A viable solo queue environment is essential to this game mode. If people can’t plug and play, if the time investment needed to achieve rewards is so high, and if the meta is so off balance then this game will continue top die a slow agonizing death.
But just keep asking questions about why not just form a guild team hurdur.
So wait, there were literally hundreds of thousands of people on Twitch watching videogames and only 2000 bothered to have a GW2 stream open?
yep.
I thought most necros spec’d reaper now a days? Keep the dream alive.
My apologies if there is an older thread of this topic that should have been bumped. i tried searching for one using the forum search tool (with all its faults).
The root of imbalance in this game (imo) is trying to juggle multiple games modes, that have fundamentally different needs as far as player engagement, with a single set of skill mechanics and modifiers.
It is less than ideal to have 3 completely different iterations of a skill as far as being welcoming to newcomers, or players who jump between game modes, but it is essential for preserving tight control of boss mechanics, profession interactions, and ultimately being able to finely tune maps and events.
We as a community should express ( for the nth time) that it is in our and Arenanet’s best interests to split the game modes and have the professions be balanced based upon how they interact with each game mode, solely for that game mode.
Though this is more resource intensive, it would likely be the best way to tackle the issue where skill relevance is asymmetric across different segments of the game. The biggest issues though seem to be, does Anet have the resources to do this? And do they have the system in place that would allow them to modify skills based on what zone/mode you’re are playing in?
Thoughts? Concerns?
TLDR: WvW =/= Spvp =/= PvE ; split game modes, balance skills with different coefficients and interactions in each game mode.

Need to make a perk of the expansion worth while enough to satisfy purchasers?
Plenty of them felt like garbage when first seen- matter of overcompensating?
As an owner of Quip and Bolt my recommendation would be Nevermore. Go big or go home boys.
Magic Toker on Revenant, Caed on Ranger… I have no doubt Sindrener will follow with something viable pretty soon. Surely if those WTS-level all-time-thieves reroll, I can see worse thieves joining the bandwagon.
Which means any thief/daredevil remotely interested in competitive PvP taking their luggage and moving to another class that actually doesn’t give you diarrhea to be effective.
So what is it?
*Disclaimer: I’m actually quite sad being this negative about the class. Nobody wants their favorite class which they’ve invested in for 3 years, ruined for the game mode they actually cared. A big hug to all thieves who feel the same.
I rerolled daredevil. I’m doing fine, though life could be easier. For someone min-mxing with a specific team comp i would consider other classes, but for the solo player bashing heads with people thief daredevil is still fine by me.
You simply need to understand you’re the minority, most people can’t play all day, every day. Content will never be balanced around you.
Content should be balanced around those who don’t play the game. If it takes more than an hour to do than it’s too hardcore for the guild wars crowd….
10/10
Why?1. Elite specs take some time to unlock. ( thats why they are called ELITE specs, you must work a bit for them).
2. You cant get all the masteries in 1 day which is awesome ( stop complaining about them, you couldnt level your character fast when Gw2 started also, but some ppl forgot about that).
3. Mobs are much harder all over the place, on all maps. Again great, now im using my brain in combat. ( And yes its SOLOABLE ).
4. Personal story is awesome PERIOD. ( yes it gated so WHAT ?)
5. Just exploring new maps is intresting and rewarding ( You can unlock home instance upgrades just form exploring).
6. Hero challenges give you 10 HP instead of 1. ( and thats why they are maybe 10 times harder —> which is great).
7. Seeing carebears on forums rating HoT with 3 out of 10 just because Itzel poison lore
(which got fixed) adds soo much fun to the game PRICELESS.You my friends were used to just 1 2 3 every mob of every map for sooo long that you just cant get used to actually doing something which is not braindead content.
You forgot the feeling of finish cof p2 for the first time wiht blue eq back when game started. Some of you never had that feeling, dont know anything about the game other than pressing 1 2 3 on your keyboard and still you gave yourself a RIGHT to trash talk the half of features just because my 2 year old son cant finish it 1 day and max everything…. So0 sad…
2 days of reading this thread made me feel sorry for a lot of you….
Carebear Wars 2
Shut your trap and watch this video.
https://youtu.be/TrwtWAGGGB4?t=1m22sUnlock home instance? Tell me where? Dam, post a guide.
Work for it? You mean grind the same events or different events over and over even though it is against their manifesto?
Soloable in event? Really? Please record a video of you doing an event by yourself.
Let me answer this question :
4. Personal story is awesome PERIOD. ( yes it gated so WHAT ?)So what you ask? Why do I have to GRIND A MILLION EXP + just to play a story where I am supposedly to enjoy and where MY CHARACTER was supposed to rush to save people? IT BREAKS IMMERSION.
See bolded.
That is not a hill to die on- trust me.
I solo’d plenty of the hero points and events in both verdant and auric basin. Haven’t done much of tangled so can’t speak to that map. The content in this expansion is harder, but it quite legitimately reminds me of BWE2 for the original launch- which is the level of difficulty i wanted so dearly for GW2. It’s all doable but punishes sloppy play; you can make mistakes but the worse you are the more help you need to recruit. And frankly that’s how it should be. I have seen plenty of players rise to the challenges presented with this new content and i think that this is really a non issue long term.
People need to get over the fact that they will have to do more than stand still, not dodge, and ping their auto attack to flail down mobs now.
Please post a video of you doing a Maguuma hero challenge.
If i have time i will, i am not sure i can redo some of the more doable ones i am aware of though? Like can i redo hero challenges that i have completed, because i focus on a single toon.
But if you are seriously this kitten about this you are really showing the quality of player you are. There is no serious discussion to be had about the soloability of the content in maguuma, unless you are focusing on that ALL maguuma content is not soloable.
8/10
Coming back from a hiatus and playing other games, i am finding this expansion fresh. Characterization, theming, and encounter design is above what i expected. I am very supportive of the break bar, and that is allows for role diversity in some specific ways. I have been commanding dragon’s stand and it is a very satisfying event chain overall- i liken it to straits of devastation done right.
Points off for pacing as experience gains to mastery achievement feels a bit off but, we are 3 days in and i have a ton of masteries already so maybe my expectations were off? It just seems like very little content is gated behind masteries and so it’s frustrating doing so much for so little.
I also don’t like the ending of the story in that i felt it was noncommittal, but i will give them the benefit of the doubt.
All in all, pleasantly surprised. Keep it up Anet- you are going in the right direction.
(edited by Asudementio.8526)
Canach’s sheild doesn’t deploy and you cannot complete his segment of the pre-Mordremoth fights
*Mordremoth’s eye will sometimes not desummon between attempts and will attack players upon spawning in
*Mordemoth’s ariel phase attack will persist past death and kill the player on a follow up attempt
*Floor will not load properly causing rifts to be unusuable.
So some stuff on the dodging.
First of any else feels that the dodge from Bounding Dodger and Unhindered Combatant feels way slower to execute?
Second why don’t Bounding Dodger and Unhindered Combatant and Lotus Training change the dodging for Withdraw and Roll for initiative?
withdraw and RI aren’t not dodges, they evades- directly analogous to sword/dagger and short bow 3 in how they are effected by other abilities
increase cd and have it remove all might or lower cd and remove a single stack of might?
really they just need to adjust the CD of sigil of nullification and perhaps purity. keep generosity as is
Watch us not get a weapon altogether. XD
Thief elite spec is thief gets deleted.
honestly, i’m sick of this melee staff crap. Why am I sick of it? we already have plenty of melee options a it just takes another dump on what our other crappy option has been for years, which is pistols. We need something that compliments what we already have and gives us a stronger range option, which is rifle. Melee staff is stupid and people who stand by it should just go rerole as a pandarian monk
Or you could, you know, support reverting the nerfs made to shortbow and welcome increased weapon diversity whatever it may be.
I wanted a control weapon in mace, we may get staff with high mobility- but really we are all just taking wild guesses as to what exactly we will get and should get.
Less rage and more adaptation.

@messiah.1908
Thieves shadow embrace shouldn’t remove slow when a thief is in stealth. Shadow’s embrace removes damaging conditions. So you are incorrect there, thieves must use a rune, a sigil, shadowstep, signet of agility, or sword skill #2 to remove slow.
Edit: or a trick if traited
Having played acro quite a bit since the changes, i was very excited to see this change. A lot of doomsayers will continue to whine about having to be more judicious with their dodges, and it is certainly true that acro is less rewarding still for a lot of set ups- but this is a good change. Thieves who have been learning to maximize acro since the overhaul should be overjoyed for this. Acro has a lot to love in it, and every little buff helps.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/%22Sic_%27Em!%22
It sucks i know. Pick rangers love to get us with it.
Edit: I blame mesmers for its utilization in WvW. Also carry daggerstorm as an oh kitten button for lb rangers. You can use smokescreen if you prefer.
1. Is there any advantage of playing currently my lvl 20 guardian if I would most likely play the Revenant Shiro Tagachi?… like can I play to build or collect something to hand out to my Revenant, like pvp gear/points/coins/badges/currency or if possible even change class/job to the Revenant when it comes out?.
2. Based on given info about the Shiro Tagachi could it compete versus mages or ranged possible heavy damage and crowd control? (I hate being one shotted at max level in top gear, imbalance in imminent crowd control death in 1v1 at equal gear-skill-levels).
3. Does castle siege and open world pvp occur?. Have these forms of pvp been affected by p2w, neglected mechanics by devs, broken AoE skills, guilds that grew out of proportion etc?
1. There is no advantage to playing your guardian in particular- but playing any class to become more familiar with current builds and tactics in pvp would be beneficial.
2. Gear is normalized in gw2 so you shouldn’t worry about being outgeared in fights. Melee competes with ranged as is- when you mentioned a mage i assume your are talking about ele, necros, mesmers in gw2 terms. It is hard to say how shiro will compete against these classes, but i wouldn’t expect an easy fight from any of them.
3. WvW is castle siege pvp in GW2. GW2 lacks any p2w elements, it is all pay for cosmetics. As far as neglected mechanics, i’d say no- WvW has always felt pretty solid to me, though the current meta is very ranged heavy. Also there is a current week long event going on that is ruining WvW because the strongest siege unit basically has no cost . But in general WvW is a solid format. Some guilds are super huge but with map caps it is hard to have an OT experience as you would in a game like archeage.
Edit: A Word
If anyone is interested- I’ve had to be away from the game for a while but now I’m back playing again
Welcome back, if you ever have any questions about anything game related you can shoot me a pm or mail.
i mean, it’s not perfect, but i can dig this meta
Add them as a rare drop from a scarlet themed fractal- go nuts.
No references, no methods, poor formatting. Legit.
They don’t deserve your faith. They deserve accountability and a trip to a college algebra class, because the numbers they put out with the Specialization patch are horrifically incompetent.
Ditch this joke of a game and go FFXIV Heavensward. Best MMO expansion in years, better than any WoW has made and will certainly be better than Heart of Thorns. Look at the body of work of the last 3 years from Anet… it’s one disaster after another, and now they want to charge a full game’s price for an expansion that they still haven’t fully explained?
GW2 is just a shiny kitten and a brazen cash grab that cashes in on the hipster gaming demographic, which make no mistake GW2 players are. You don’t want to do trinity or pay subscription because you simply can’t handle group mechanics and want something great for little investment.
You whine all day on here because the game simply doesn’t have enough for you to do. Anet spends more time and money on Fox News style PR livestreams and advertising than pushing themselves to the limit on content pacing and quality like FFXIV does.
FFXIV is a categorically better game at this point, and the gap will only get bigger between the two games. It’s arguably better than WoW too, altho WoW fanboys are waaaay too entrenched to ever admit that.
This is a peasant tier game made for instant gratification hipsters. Graduate from the trough and join the most skilled and competent MMO community in the world.
Huh….

Oh, makes sense now…..
0/10 try again
Edit: You know when most people quit a MMO they don’t hang around for months screaming at people still playing it. Problem may not be with GW2 mate- just sayin’
