I still enjoy PvP but i would say it is more frustrating now than it has been in the past few months. The pacing of everything is way different, and in general spike damage is absurd right now so it can make cutting your teeth painful, but i would still recommend someone check it out.

Well?
I recently started playing but after this most recent update fiasco(combined with sketchy pricing scheme for HoT) I am having very little faith in the developers….
How could Mesmer(mainly) or Ele(secondary) be released in their current state if the people play testing were competent? And over the last couple weeks no posts from anet employees on anything outside of HoT.
Communication from the devs has always been poor.
Edit: a word
Diamond skin is basically a health percentage driven selective invuln. With ele hp scaled to what it is i think it’s fine.
(edited by Asudementio.8526)
So basically what I am gathering from people’s arguements here is that it’s completely fair for me (a main thief for the duration of me playing this game, which is on and off two years) to completely CHANGE my playstyle because the way I (and many others) played a certain way? That seems fair to some people? I shouldn’t have to relearn and regear my ENTIRE character to accommodate a patch to the game. Bullkitten.
??
I think most of us had to completely redo our characters at one time or another due to balancing changes.
This has to be a joke.
Just because you’ve had to do it before doesn’t necessarily make it fair. Plus, I can tell you for a fact no patch prior to this one has made anyone completely change your gear set to simply survive. Lol. You must be the one joking if you tell me differently. Then again, It is very possible that I’m just mad that I spent a lot of gold and time to craft stuff only for me to have to start all over again. Very possible.
You are too far gone to talk with. Sorry the changes are apparently affecting you so disproportionately.

There’s one major problem with that build there tho
Eh i see a lot of little things wrong with that builds imo, but nothing so severe that it wouldn’t play well.
Currently in the game now yes there is a glaring problem.
Bug you’d like to mention or?

I mean if i played only spvp i probably wouldn’t buy it until they added more features that made it a good buy. Like maybe some living story stuff down the line will make for a really good reward track or something.
I haven’t really had any damage issues since patch; is it possible you have been hitting opponents running more toughness than normal or?
What are you trying to do in WvW? zerg, small group. solo roam?
Am I the only one who doesn’t want rifle and want staff so badly ? A melee weap sounds way more cool imo…
No, i don’t want rifle. I want mace…

Enjoy ESO.
I think it is a stretch to claim that cutting some of the conditions most likely to lead to a thief dying from removal by SE is a buff in that is allows more thoughtful counterplay.
Most thieves will be worried by immob, and let’s assume if you take SA you won’t take acro so immob is a real worry. In the past you could rely on HiS to remove immob as well as a bulk of what are now some nasty damaging conditions. Well with immob being a principle concern you can’t rely on HiS as HiS + SE won’t clear immob. Your choices are lyssa runes, kitten , withdraw, traited tricks and signet of agility. So at best we are blowing more cooldowns, or more important cooldowns, to do the same thing we used to be able to do with a single cooldown.
So basically we have to do more to do less or even as much as we used to. Stealth shouldn’t be our only way to solve problems, but that philosophy applied in this circumstance has left our class wanting. We can’t eat nerfs without buffs to compensate. The more our survivability is slashed as the offensive capabilities of the other classes are raised, the worse spots we will find ourselves in.
This change isn’t a deal breaker for thieves, but the general trend for our class leads me to believe that we will be facing a lot of future issues as more of our options for survival are eroded away.
The suggestion still reflects projectiles. It evades close combat attacts.
DS is perfect for its purpose, it doesn’t need a change – you just need to learn how to use it or use another elite – basilisk venom is really good as well and even got buffed with the patch as far as I have seen it – I rarely use it.
Really i think we would all like thieves guild to be more useful. If thieves guild had more blinds and immobs tossed in it, or random dazes i think many people would consider it. Then again the CD on it is horrible, a change to that would of course go a long way as well.
Your argument is that quantity of content is the only metric on which price should be established. Fine that is a fair position to have then. For others this is not the case, it is always something nice but for some of us we weigh the worth of games more abstractly.
Then by what metric do you weigh the value of this expansion?
When i decide to purchase any dlc or expansions i usually ask the following:
1) do i have time to keep playing
2) is the game still interesting to me, do i have goals left, are friends still playing
3) do i find the theme of the content interesting, does it add novelty that is enticing
4) do i want to support the development team/publisher
5) do i think that purchasing will improve my experience above and beyond that of the base game
Pretty consistently this is how i decide if an expansion is worth buying. HoT hits and misses some of these, which is why i am waiting to pre-order until i know more about it and more about my commitment to the game.
That this is how i judge if i will purchase a game does not mean it is a valid method for everyone. If you are a very raw content driven individual then it may only make sense for you to purchase based on the number of zones and dungeons and so on so forth. My point in all of this is to point out that your way is not necessarily the best or more fair way to make consumer choices.
edit:phrasing
Guys just ignore Rin. He’s on every thread trying to convince us all that Thief was too OP, and these nerfs are justified and great for the game.
Clearly he is better than everyone and we just need to L2P. Or an aNet shill. My money is on aNet shill.
I’m trying to use logic and experience to detail my points, what are you using? It seems to me that you are struggling to find a good enough arguement against me, and so resort to personal attacks in an attempt to discredit me. Well, I’m sorry but you are wastimg your time. I find it very satisfying to see this kind of comment, because it shows me you have nothing to devalue my opinion with, and in the end only serves to validate my points even more.
I am sure people who can think for themselves will be able to make their own mind up about my comments. But thanks for contributing so constructively.
I went through your last few messages to see what all this was about.
I think most of your points are fair in that obviously these changes just force thieves to adapt, but some of your suggestions for adaptation are ridiculous.
Swapping utilities or runes are fine suggestions for dealing with SE not affecting control conditions anymore. But suggesting people take SA and acro is not reasonable. With both SA and acro your damage potential will be so heavily neutered that the spec is likely in-viable with the current pace of play. Maybe is mismatches or circumstances where you are extraordinarily careful SA+acro can be viable, but in general it is subpar at best imo.
I think there is a lot to say for allowing SE to remove non-damaging conditions as it used to. Usually the removal of such conditions required you to use a CD if you were really compromised. Compared to the current state of affairs reverting SE would open up more utility options and improve diversity in skill load outs. Furthermore the revert would up survivability of thieves a bit which would be very useful in the land-mined PvP scene right now.
The thing to be cautious of is this would be a buff to d/p which may push it further along.
In general we would be encouraging more pistol main-hand and sword main-hand play.
Utility and weapon diversity should be the goal, a revert to pre-patch SE would be the former but perhaps not the latter.
Gw2 was $60 and not $50. You don’t know how big/small HoT will be..
HOT is $60 bucks as well. So you are paying exactly the same.
And no we don’t know how big HOT will be. But we do know:
-It will be smaller than the core game, and thus shouldn’t cost the same.
-It’s a small expansion, not a full standalone expansion like in GW1.EotN and HoT are priced similar to their base games.
EotN was NOT priced similar to it’s core game. It was a lot cheaper than Prophecies.
Your argument is that quantity of content is the only metric on which price should be established. Fine that is a fair position to have then. For others this is not the case, it is always something nice but for some of us we weigh the worth of games more abstractly.
Last Boss being killed in the first Week of an MMO Expansion, this isn’t going to end well.
Instead we’ll get a cliffhanger after 4 days in the first Week of an MMO Expansion. And people are still going to complain there’s no content. In fact, that will be worse as it will highlight just how little substance there is to HoT.
For pity’s sake people! You paid $60 for ~30 explorable areas (counting cities) in the base game. And now ANET is asking you to pay $50 for a THIRD of that MAYBE. And you’re perfectly fine with it. I just don’t understand.
It is a different experience with different expectations. These differences do not mean the prices should be different if they ever are. Some people are content paying 50 dollars because they have gotten more than their moneys worth from the base game, are excited about the prospects of the game going forward, and want to fully support the team responsible for this game.
omg please don’t let it be melee staff, 1.I thought revenant was getting that in the expansion, 2. It does not fit the play style , i don’t see a lot of stealth or other thief like ability’s coming with a weapon set like this, 3. thieves are not monks -_- we are made to go in battle with the advantage and put pressure on enemy’s, and going back out if needed, then coming back in to finish the job, but still depends on how you play our beloved backstabbers. I spent my first year playing engineer, and it didn’t feel right, then i checked out thief and have been playing it ever since, don’t make me regret it.
daggers are not a thief’s only weapon. I think mace i a better fit, but imo staff is as workable as most other legitimate weapon choices.

I think if we did kill mordemoth in HoT that we’d be really worse off than if he lived into a later released living story.
This expansion’s story hopefully will focus on the pursuit of destiny’s edge, the bolstering and continued rise to prominence of destiny’s edge 2.0 via a passing of the mantle, us exploring the effects of zhaitan’s defeat and how we can harness his power like the inquest intended, how the sylvari are being discriminated against and the growing social tensions there, the state of our pale trees and the existence of other pale trees, the connection of races such as the exalted to mursaat, the fate of bloodstones as hinted in arah p4 and what they can be used for, the disturbance of the mists by revenants and how their power can affects the dragons. etc etc etc
There is a lot of story to be told that can make the death of modremoth much more significant that it is now. Hopefully the expansion story will intorduce us to a lot of these things and give us more compelling motivations for routing the mordrem and what it means in the greater context of the world.
I apologize for rambling.
So, maybe people want to call me entitled, but what ever. Guild Wars Nightfall Collectors Edition was about $50, which I pre-ordered back then, and it came with:
Bonuses:
-Massive Guild Wars Nightfall poster
-Full colour map of Elona
-Two exclusive Skill Pins
-124-page Guild Wars Nightfall Art Book
-Mini Desktop Character Standee of Varesh
-Behind-the-scenes ‘Making of…’ DVD
-Collectable Game Activation Card
-Jeremy Soule CD Soundtrack
(Including a key for exclusive Guild Wars Nightfall tracks)
-Epic trial key and Nightfall buddy key
(Try both previous campaigns and invite a friend to play GW Nightfall)Game Content:
-A stand alone expansion
-Two big boss fights at the end, Varesh and Abaddon
-Dozens of new explorables
-Two new professions, Paragon and Dervish
-A huge endgame area, Domain of Anguish, with its own boss Malyx the Unyielding
(Released shortly after the launch of Nightfall)
-Two new character slots (And an additional one if you got the pre-release)
-Wurm mounts! And yes, that is the my actual game box in the picture down below.
So, what am I getting when I buy HOT?-Not a full a stand alone expansion
-No extra character slots at all
-No final boss fight with Mordremoth, just one of his champions
-No endgame areas or dungeons as far as been announced so far
-Not even the soundtrack
-The revenant
-One new Specialization for each profession
-A few explorablesAnd yet I pay the same price for it? This feels like I am paying the price of a full game for Living Story left overs, and NOT for a full expansion.
You are right, no reason for you to buy HoT. There is likely no way to appease you, not that i think anyone will try. Sorry this isn’t the game for you, luckily there is so little being added with HoT that you won’t really need it- furthermore no sub so you can just head out and come back whenever you like.
Cheers.
My guild [EG] Ethereal Guardians spawned tequatl, fought and killed it for the first time post patch with 9:02 on the timer on saturday. The biggest thing we noticed was not being able to push all the way through burn phases before he started attacking again because the HP increase was THAT massive. I will say though that we all thoroughly enjoyed the fight. There was about 90-100 of us and we were extremely proud of the increased focus, work and challenge it took for us to get a normally smooth run. After doing tequatl we spawned the buffed triple trouble wurm with approximately 125 people coordinating in teamspeak. Phase 1 was tight, if you miss a burn phase at amber it can be close. Phase 2 of the wurm head we did a triple decap and finished with 50 seconds left. Needles to say we were proud of what we’ve been doing since the bosses come out.
As the leader of a large PVX guild that has been downing these things with consistency and regularity, I can say that there was a very long time where tequatl was the domain ONLY of special interest communities (like TTS, ATT), strong PVE server communities (like blackgate) or organized PVX guilds like mine. More casual and unorganized groups were crying for it to be nerfed but eventually they learned to work together and improve their play to the point where random maps could organize and kill it with some regularity. Even now this was happening with triple trouble wurm (ex: EVOS guild running LFG TT kills) and organizing pugs. They have had many failures with pugs but slowly people learn. That’s just how it is with many casual GW2 gamers.
Hard content should remain challenging in order to encourage people to work together and be proud of something. If everything in the game is faceroll, GW2 would be abandoning its most dedicated playerbase. I would encourage your server communities and guilds to see this as a rallying call to challenge yourselves and prepare for more large raid content that hopefully will be coming down the pipe with Heart of Thorns. I for one am excited
Anyone has any pride in doing teq or wurm? what is this early 2014??
Chilipadiboy, I agree with you. The average gamer does not really enjoy dying over and over with nothing to show for his/her time. They like rewards. They like winning. The recent hp changes are not bringing things like that. They are making things much more frustrating, and time consuming. That’s not fun or rewarding when you have to put in more time and effort for the same reward you got before, and now are more likely to not even be rewarded.
I mean you could always not put in minimally more effort and just end up not being rewarded at all.
Are most people railing against acro doing so after playing it?
I’ve been playing acro lately and while the feline grace nerf is annoying, all things considered Hard to Catch and Don’t Stop are really nice to have in the acro tree. I feel their utility is being far underestimated.
Really, there’s no need to call people that. It’s ok to disagree with me but let’s keep it civil. I hopped in game 10 minutes before Teq event started. I quickly set some traits and skills that I thought would be useful and headed to north boats. The whole event went off without a hitch. Did it take a bit longer, Yes. Could the rewards have been better? For sure. That being said, it was fun and I enjoyed the change.
The change was they made the fight take longer by adding more health.
As it stands tequatl requires more effort than it is worth. If the crit change was applied more reasonably then maybe people would feel more inclined to adopt the headache that is organizing 30 mins prior to an event for really subpar loot compared to what you could be earning elsewhere.
All the mesmers in this thread are pathetic. Mesmer has been viable in every meta for ages. .
Lol what a joke.
Metabattle two weeks ago had not a single meta mesmer build. I wonder why.
Your thief is leaking out. Someone is mad we can compete now.
Did your heartseeker spam get interrupted?
Mesmers are always such a classy lot, it’s boggling why y’all can’t get a blind eye cast to your situation now-or not even feigned sympathy.
You forgot shadow arts thief.
not really anything about thief i can actually think of as universally overpowered.
shadow arts has a useless selection of master traits and shadow’s embrace no longer removing all conditions anymore is a serious nerf, making it useless against power builds which use conditions such as immobilize, blind, or weakness. shadows rejuv is majorly crippling considering it requires you to stay in stealth for a long time to actually be useful. but if i had to say i think the stealth duration increase should be removed and replaced with something else.
and since i left guardian out, i think Valor still needs a considerable nerf since it was stupidly buffed by making all medi traits one single GM trait.
quick edit: please nerf celestial ele they’re ruining the game 10 times more than before. they are completely unbeatable on almost everything i’ve seen in a fair level matchup
I agree shadow arts isn’t as good as many are thinking it- which to be fair, looking at it on paper, and even considering the state of SA pre-patch one would look foolish to say that SA doesn’t seem great. All that said it’s not the issue most people have with thieves.
The shifting of stats from traits to amulets have allowed thieves to pick up stats that were otherwise wasted in the past by taking lines like trickery. This paired with buffs to DA, CS (buff is an arguable term, but given what it was pre-finalized patch) and the minor buff in trickery has allowed thieves to most effortlessly burst people down .
This was doable pre-patch of course, but damage is so high across the board that people mistake the issue to be with thieves in particular instead of with balancing in general. Though executioner does bring a lot to the table being in DA, i don’t think it is the root of the absurdity people are seeing with thieves.
The patch is more offense, less defense, and this favors power thieves a lot.
If the update is reasonable, then yes players should adjust and ask themselves if bosses are worth doing anymore. I have a feeling bosses like shadow behemoth will be ignored for much the same reason bosses like dredge commissar and fire shaman are, they are inconvenient and unrewarding.
BUT
This thread was to gauge the state of things, and the state of things is that the mechanics Anet wanted to introduce to balance the buff made to bosses are not working. Crits are failing to be significant due to poor zone scaling and selective limbs being critable. In this way the adjustment expected by the community must be considered mute until the bosses are once again functioning properly.
Until then, suffer on PvE heroes. Keep updating with what ya see, and let’s get what needs to be adjusted fixed.
any feedback on claw of jormag?
I find it inappropriate for this company, or any company. If you want to be an activist, fine. Support whatever. If you want to engage your company and your product in that activism…well, that is very foolish, regardless of what side of whatever issue you are on…it shows remarkably poor judgment.
I find the intolerance and the demands for conformity by those who claim to bow down to the secular gods of the state and of liberalism…well, that is equally foolish. Labeling anyone that doesn’t agree with your view point as intolerant, is hypocritical, and intolerant. Especially when the concept of tolerance, and what should be tolerated, changes overnight. Three years ago POTUS was against gay marriage legalization.
As far as the law, and the experts…remember, it was a 5-4 decision. The “experts” fundamentally disagree. We get to do that in this country. Some people think this is a victory for liberty or equality. Others think this is a departure from moral and biological first principles, imperatives, that are beyond the reach of politically correct whimsy.
I mean corporations are people right, surely they have a right to express themselves. The individual who works for this corporation has a right to express themselves. If the two disagree they will settle the matter internally, but that does not seem to be the case.
Or is this invoking the logic of the “secular gods of the state and of liberalism”?
I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. There, now before I receive my infraction:
It is clear that this game is not accepting of everyone, only those who accept their politically correct viewpoint. And all those ‘tolerant’ folks who aplaud Anet and can only stand to play a virtual game filled with people who have the same thoughts and beliefs as those them, I don’t blame you. It’s much easier not to have to discuss or argue or having your beliefs challenged. Good luck with life.
For me, I believe in God, shocking as that sounds. And many of my friends don’t. Unlike many, I believe you can disagree with someone and his/her lifestyle and still care for them. I realize that it is only a matter of time before the feds start fining and jailing churches who don’t perform same sex marriages, like in Canada. But I will continue to follow my core beliefs.
I am uninstalling after countless hours of play. My biggest regret is that I just prepurchased HoT. I’m asking for a refund, doubt I’ll see it. Now lay on the hate, I can take it.
Wait, so your lifestyle is supported by both the company and the game. A life style that you, through personal beliefs, hold as directly opposed to your own is also approved of by the company and in game entities. This means that the company is in fact intolerant of you??
Actually political correctness was a liberal political movement that originated at the University of Wisconsin.
I pulled this from conservapedia as i figured you may find that as acceptable.
“Political correctness or P.C. also means the alteration of one’s choice of words in order to avoid either offending a group of people or reinforcing a stereotype considered to be disadvantageous to the group.”
This was the way in which i read it in your post, but i can see the disconnect now that i know the context you were going for.
test comment as i can’t access thread anymore
Unfortunately, 90% of people who volunteer for this will only do it so they can be the first ones to play the patch and figure out changes in the market etc.
It would be a fair trade off then to make it so that you will only have access to limited segments of the game then right? For a patch that has such sweeping class changes you have access to spvp, dungeons, world bosses, and WvW.
Shatterer seems fine post update
The social “justice” warriors are sure giving the op a bad time with their one word vocabulary…. “bigot” Over and over I see that word popping up… A bigot is someone who can’t tolerate another person’s point of view. This would be more appropriately apply to the politically correct crowd. I mean look at the name “politically correct”. They’ve already assumed their intellectual victory and really don’t want anyone questioning their superior intellect. OP has issue that by gw2 posting that it is representing all players in that post….. well all players don’t agree with the court’s ruling… so would the social “justice” bigots quit harassing the op
politically correct means that someone is phrased euphemistically as to not offend anyone who may have sensitivities to a particular wording due to associative meaning, it does not have the connotations you are applying to it here
I’m referring to this: https://twitter.com/GuildWars2/status/614560129573351424
Please remember that a very large portion of your player base doesn’t agree with the court’s decision today.
If one of their staff expressed disapproval on the court’s ruling today, and people (your current opposition?) were asking the staff to keep out of politics would you be so keen to keep your position?
Sorry, I am on the side that says there’s no problem with ANet putting that up, but please think about that question. Pretty darn sure there’d be numerous angry threads if your scenario actually happened. Of course, the outrage wouldn’t be a request that ANet stay out of politics. It would be outrage at ANet being “bigots.”
Well yes, i understand that’d likely be the case- but let’s return to my scenario.
If OP was on the opposite of this would they still be supportive of having anet refrain from politics? chances are they wouldn’t be. And that’s the point. This is being discussed because someone is contentious with the issue at hand and is trying to grasp at whatever little comfort they can get to support their dissent.

Colin recently said in lieu of having a public testing server for big changes that the only thing they can do is try to make prompt changes to the game when problems are encountered.
It is brutally apparent with this last big patch and the minor fixes that have accompanied it that this is a practice that is not sustainable. So many core facets of the game are unbalanced and it is brewing frustration and resentment.
We need to make a concerted push for the implementation of a public test server, or even a private test server that players can be randomly recruited into by Anet in the days preceding larger patches. Large group content and competitive game modes need to be checked by regular players for balance. The majority of the game’s userbase just acts and plays in ways that are obviously not being accounted for in whatever QA measures are currently in place.
If agree or disagree please say so in this thread, and let’s get a discussion about this rolling.
I actually lost the mood to play the game after failing Teq for the first time in over 6 months. Totally supported all the changes they are making to the game and even getting Ultimate edition of HoT but the game just feels broken now.
PvP is out of whack, Teq is unkillable, and my Wurmslayer headpieces and handpieces still can’t be reforged. Gonna be taking a break until everything is fixed. sigh
Sentiments like this really bother me; i don’t think this game’s playerbase ever need to be pushed to feel like this. Broadcast, get guildies and others talking about this. We need to get anet on top of fixing these issues.
30% crit chance, no crits on shadow behemoth. fight took more than 6 phases.
Dat 2 year old thread revival doe.
Didn’t even notice, wow. GG
Encourage people to post their experiences even if a boss is reported on in this thread- it’s important to figure out what tweaks need to be made, because i guarantee there will some that need to be made.
Can we get some feedback as people fight these bosses. With double health is it too difficult to kill them?
Does tequatl’s larger health pool make it so burn phases are not full phases even with critical hits allowed?
How are people faring against the jungle wurms which have historically very tight burn windows and timing?
Questions:
I don’t like it, but i feel that it is essential that we can given the craziness of builds and balancing right now.
I disagree, the critical strikes line feels very rewarding, with master traits being the outlier. I think a lot of criticism with CS is from the fact that it was changed to boost the damage of critical hits instead of just all damage. CS feels a lot better than when it was first preview, and is a viable alternative to some builds using DA or SA, but that said there is nothing remarkable about the line- it just feels adequate. Save for no quarter- love that trait, just a fun mechanic to play with.
I have played almost exclusively as s/d and s/p since patch to gauge it. Despite the loss of some of the dodge potential in the line, i have found hard to catch and don’t stop to be incredible traits. The buffs made to the line in the form of these two traits offset a lot of vigor and feline grace nerf. Could it be in a better place if feline grace was pure endurance refund? i think so, but it will survive. I don’t think it will out perform d/p in terms of ganks though. S/D is viable, just not optimal or accessible at all tiers of play.
i have not tried a condi build as on paper it seems to lack the survival needed in the current meta to apply serious condition pressure- but i can be mistaken.
I still swap to them from time to time but not because they are now traitable.

Why would you alienate your visually impaired gamers? The UI is too small @ 1080p which has been the new standard for quite some time now anet.
See, with transgender’s, functionality is already built in. You get to select a boy or girl.
Anet, if your so thoughtful with LGBT community, why not show the visually impaired community some love and update the UI scaling?
You can bump up the UI scale in the graphics options menu. Try large or larger to see if that is suitable.
He may have been running the new thief acrobatics GM trait.
Don’t Stop: The effects of crippled and chilled on you are reduced by 50%, meaning your movement is decreased by 25% and 33% respectively, rather than 50% and 66%. If you would become immobilized, you are instead crippled for 4 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 10 seconds.
Ok thanks, but the message IMMUNE should not appear. That is confusing!
You should be thankful it appears. Now that you know that the immunity is given by the trait you can go for another immob immediately, since he won’t have immunity for another 10 seconds after the first.
Edit: but you know, rangers and immob- spider pet master race
Moderator, I am requesting this thread be deleted… its a cesspool of hate from both sides, and has nothing to do with the game. Or at least move it to the off topic designated forum area.
I second this.
Balthazar was already a cheap option for people not wanting to use scholar. For classes that apply burning it’s now slightly better, but most likely still sub-par compared to running scholar.
You are likely thinking rune of the flame legion instead of balthazar.
I agree that thiefs need a new weapon, but I’m not sure staff is the right one… off hand sword would be nice. But axe, longbow and rifle all fit the “thiefy” niche.
I’m telling ya thief needs mace- call the elite Bruiser or Brigand
