GM of Crew of Misfits (CoM)
Piken Square, EU
1) To not lay my hands on a single ascended item, ever. At least not until they are provided through other means such as WvW. I will not be lured with a carrot like a donkey, ignoring my guildies who are more casual in order to have the edge, which comes at an incredible monetary cost.
2) To never spend a dime on the gem shop supporting this new system which promotes elitism and gated content. On the contrary, i will farm with traditional methods, and in due time, finish up my T3 cultural set.
3) I will hunt people with full sets of ascended gear in WvW and destroy them in my nice and shiny exotic set. I will fight with the odds against me and make videos, showing how irrelevant it is for people who pve to have an edge in pvp.
That’s what my long term goal is. What is yours?
None. Your player types are deeply biased and you make too many irrelevant assumptions.
Just because someone has time(or not) doesn’t mean they love or hate the fractal dungeons.
Cant believe you just notice it now. I notice it 30 min after the patch was applied. 2 Orr event with higher than usual drop rates of porous bone. Guess people are slowly waking up and believing it.
This is a direct result of Nexon getting 15% interest in GW2.
I am not gonna go as far to say that and i am not a conspiracy theorist in any sense. All i want is a chance in a game that isn’t pay to win
Players will naturally fall to the fastest way to get wealth, when they should be going to many places and doing different things.
They should be? who are you to define what everyone should be doing? In your own logic you are applying a set of rules that you believe everyone “SHOULD” be doing, thus giving us your own version of what is fun, which is not for everyone.
In your statement you actually show the real solution to the issue, that more challenging mobs are less rewarding. So what do they do? they bring the loot quality of normal lvl 80-84 mobs to an abysmal level so that every possible means of making gold is obsolete. The consequences?
Let me break it down for you:
1) Farming is nerfed
2) People flood the gem store for gold
3) Gem prices inflate, requiring much more real money per gold
4) The market has no influx of new gear coming in because there is no farming, thus, mats and gear will also have inflated prices.
5) ascended gear are introduced, requiring 25-75g per piece to get.
6) It costs dozens of times to get what you used to, pre nerf.
7) Want proof? Watch the news and spend some time thinking what happens to real world economies.
8) make a sandwitch and have a cup of coffee.
9) come back tomorrow to admit that you have no idea what you were talking about and that i have helped you find the nirvana of economics 101.
Cant believe you just notice it now. I notice it 30 min after the patch was applied. 2 Orr event with higher than usual drop rates of porous bone. Guess people are slowly waking up and believing it.
I’ve been noticing it for quite a while but never before i had been so furious to make a post about it.
Who are you to tell me whats repetitive or not?
They are the game designers, who tell you everything about the game. If they wanted to call green in their game “yellow”, they would be within their rights.
In this case, grinders farming over and over would be bad for the community as a whole, since it would add a lot of gold in the economy and thus increase prices for all the real players (the people who are more interested in having fun instead of grinding). The DR system and all the limits to farming are thus great, as they both punish grinders and help players.
I really hope you’re trolling. If you took more than 3 seconds to think about it, you would realize that a healthy amount of legitimate grinders is actually what keeps your market stable and prevents Inflation by bringing more items in the TP. I wanna see how much fun you will have when you wanna go buy an exotic piece for 10g that used to be 1g because a few people are monopolizing the TP. As a fact it’s already happened. A full draconic Berserker’s set has moved from around 10g to 25g since the patch hit. A lot of other gear also.
And, who said that casually doing a few events every now and then for rare drops is not fun? It sure is for me, and the means to achieve my ends in the game, as far as gear and skins are concerned.
Enjoy your FoTM grind if you can find a group. Oh also, and your great Gem store prices which have skyrocketed also.
Maybe they should have gone with a P2P model from the get go and let us do what we wanna do…
Their response was “we’re not adding a gear grind”, which they didn’t. That thread amounted to a group of thoughtless, angry players baselessly calling ArenaNet liars a few thousand times, that’s all. Just because people refuse to accept the truth of the matter doesn’t make said truth any less true.
Do you realize that they have taken every means we had to be self dependent in the game and stacked us in a never ending overflow in lions arch, trying to find a group which would take us to FoTM? Who is gonna run any of the other dungeons now? Have you checked the gem store prices right now? Sky rocketed high. Do you really think this is gonna last long? Elitism is already getting in place, people are having a hard time finding groups for FoTM and the gear treadmill already moving forward.
Otherwise, why would a thread get 11k replies? Or are those people bots too?
First off, let me say that i have played GW1 + purchased all expansions except the last one so i do have an idea of what was and what is, in the world of guild wars. Second, i have put over 500 hours into gw2 and currently leading a small guild. I have been really enjoying my game time regardless of some bugs and minor issues. Yet…
My issue is with how the new direction of the game is affecting me and many other players. The issue is mostly in terms of in game economy. A couple of things happened that really bothered me and I’ve felt an emotion that i never would have expected to feel in a F2P MMO, “Cheated”. Yes, that’s right. I feel cheated. Want to know why?
1) We have no means to casually earn game gold for any small to mediocre purchases within the game such as the T3 cultural set, and other items. This is so, because our means of farming for gold through events has been eradicated and this has taken place as stealthily as possible with no notice what so ever. All we know is that Anet does not want us to farm because its repetitive.
Who are you to tell me whats repetitive or not? That is my decision, not yours. And since a lot of the bots are gone, why is the DR still in place?
2) We are introduced with a different type of grind, cascaded as ascended gear, which literally will render dozens of gold i’ve spent to get my exotic gear sets and skins useless. Eventually there will be whole new tiers of gear people will obtain through endless hours of gameplay and will have an unfair advantage in wvw, which is something i really enjoy doing.
3) The gem store. The big picture. This is where i feel cheated. I feel as i am directed there for my purchasing needs, not as a possible choice but as the ultimate one. But have you seen your $ -> gem prices Anet? Who in their sane mind will pay $1 for 80s? Not only you cut our in game gold income but you present us with a system which is basically beyond rip off? Have you noticed your little graph in the gem store going up? Currently:
a) 1 USD equals 80s
b) 1 gold = 85 gems
Enjoy it while it lasts but you aren’t getting a single cent from me. Not now, not ever
seriously someone reply -.-
what do you want us to say? That its the most pathetic action you could do in a game? As mentioned above, the thief will laugh and proceed to continue his pvp regardless of what you do.
In wvw nothing beats the greatsword for mobility. You cant kill what you cant catch and how often are you going to 1v1. Glass cannon GS is instant kills on many classes and thats not even with HB. Full tank has crap dps and half tank is = to full GC for defence. It all or nothing for toughness, your better off stacking Vit.
I have tried every build from GC to full Toughness/Vit. In order to get enough toughness to even matter you end up with almost 0% critrate.
Even with a half and half build back stab hits for the exact same damage as full GC.
Great sword and GC are a blast to play you have play smart. BTW arch arrow crits for 10k on GC builds, great for wall defence.
Your statements clearly show you have little experience with the warrior class or the game in general. Some reasons why:
1) Backstabs hit tanks as hard as they hit glass cannons? Oh really…
2) You incline to the idea that critrate is a must have for all builds.
3) Full tank has crap dps??? There is no dps in pvp. There is control, survivability and good timing. As you said, the game is not all about 1v1. That’s why you should provide more than situational burst in pvp, in your group.
4) Any spec is a blast to play with, if you are smart but intelligence has nothing to do with having fun. Honestly, nothing in your comments shows high level thinking skills, so implying that you have fun therefore you are smart is an overkill and makes you look silly.
What you say above will pretty much work in a zerg where your opponents are either
1) running for their lives and you pick on easy targets
2) inside a keep aoeing with your longbow
3) your target is stationary, a practice golem, or inexperienced.
If you want to give us some insight about the viability of the GS, provide a link to your build, a video and tactics that you use that make it great. Until then, you fit perfectly into the full signet 100b+frenzy GS warrior noob stereotype
I don’t know why people use anything but the GS. It’s far and away better than every other weapon we have.
More damage, more mobility, escape tools, ranged snare which hits multiples.
When coupled with frenzy gives the highest single ability burst in the game.
This pretty much shows that the ‘wide choice of weaponry’ for a warrior is a bit of a joke in spvp.
It’s Gs or go home imho
When coupled with frenzy gives the highest probability (that you will get 2-shotted) in the game…If you manage to land it.
Apart from that, let me analyze your statement
“More damage, more mobility, escape tools, ranged snare which hits multiples.”
1. Your 1 ability swings way too slow for it to be considered effective damage.
2. Your ranged snare hits multiple people when they are very close or aligned, a very situational ability that misses more than often when the enemy player is strafing.
3. Your 5 ability cannot be cancelled mid-cast. (Correct me if i’m wrong)If you miss your target, you are open to ranged fire, while being unable to act, until its done.
4. For a GS build to be effective you have to run glass cannon. Add that while being under frenzy.
5) You have no effective condition removals, heals or defensive abilities
I could keep going but i think i get the point across. But let me ask you a question: Are you defending your point around Bulls rush+frenzy+100B? Because really, it hardly justifies the effectiveness of a GS warrior. How are you going to fare against
1) Bunker builds
2) kiters/condition spammers
3) Toughness/vitality builds
when that combo is on cd?
Also, for the record, i rock 31.5k HP s/wh – rifle or s/sh – rifle heavily invested in vit/tough. I’ve been hit from this combo several times before, for around 12-13k tops(from exotic geared warriors). You know what i did right after? I proceeded in destroying the GS warrior. Heck, sometimes i even solo them with just the rifle and stomping them while i have 100% hp.
TLTR: My personal opinion is that GS in its current state is lackluster and situational, effective against inexperienced opponents and mass wv3 when you are in a zerg. But out of curiosity, please do share a link with your build/sigils etc
Well I was one of those people who went around reporting bots left and right and complaining about how they were ruining the game…
Turns out I was wrong, the lack of bots is what will be the ruin of the game. Prices for even the most basic materials have gone up 500-1000% since the bots vanished. I can’t afford to craft, I can’t afford to buy armor, I can’t afford to do pretty much anything since the bots were banned.
I hate to be saying this, but the game was better off when the bots made everything more affordable, I was having a lot more fun with the bots bringing in a steady supply of stuff, please bring them back.
In your reasoning we should support cell phone thieves because then we can then buy cell phones for a much lower price.
Serves us right? yes.
Is it moral? no.
Will you Still support bots when you get hacked and your account is used to farm gold to be sold to other players while you are unable to play? Please tell us…
Bots are banned in Waves. This gives the company(in this case Anet) time to gather useful statistics regarding bot behavioral patterns and ban en masse. The resources it would take to detect and ban every single individual bot would probably require the gross national income of a small country.
Additionally, banning too often, in small increments will push bot farmers to advance the bot technologies much faster, thus making it much harder for future bans.
From my meager knowledge in AI, Anet is doing a fantasic job. Well done
Why didn’t you check the combat log?
obvious troll is obvious, indirectly whining about d/d thieves and directly complaining about 100b warrior. He did check the combat log, that’s why he’s on the forums.
What kind of player is lvl 22 in spvp and doesn’t know these 2 gimmicky builds?
Warrior is the most versatile class in the game and for me incredibly fun.
Apart from some people who are seemingly unable to find a good synergy in their abilities and weapon combinations, i’m having a blast in pve AND pvp, whether it is sPvP or wvwvw.
Let me give you a few reasons why many warriors whine like little girls regarding their pvp performance
1) They run around with a GS, in full signet builds and feel they should 1 shot everyone. If not, warrior pvp sucks.
2) They don’t bring skills which remove conditions and/or provide immunities to damage and die really quick, therefore warriors are squishy.
3) They focus in Burst instead of mobility, versatility and group support, therefore when their burst misses or doesn’t kill someone, then warrior damage sucks.
I roll as warhorn/sword and rifle bleeding warrior and my survivability over damage is extraordinary. I have won 1v2 countless times and have done some pretty amazing 1v1’s with skilled players where some i lost and some i won. This is so, because every class can be great when the player behind the keyboard is smart and agile.
Having said that, i mained a warrior/monk in gw1 and tbh i prefer gw2 much better. In gw1 warriors were in a sense, pigeonholed to choosing monk as secondary due to their dependence on heals. Our abilities are more fluid and our weapon swaps allow for some very dynamic combinations and unique styles.
So why are you still on the forums? Roll a warrior now!
Edit: Just to be fair, because we are definitely not God Mode in pvp, Mesmers give me the most trouble, not while i’m fighting them but their insane damage and unpredictability during their down time. It takes at least two people to safely stomp one mesmer during their downed state.

bumping to keep this alive a lil longer
Crew of Misfits is a mid- sized social guild of mature players, focusing in most aspects of the game, whether it is dungeons, wvwvw, exploration, jumping puzzles and helping each other out.
Many of us are working professionals and have families so there is a great emphasis on Personal Life but when we are online we like to relax and enjoy every bit of the game as a team.
We have mostly lvl 3-4 upgrades and we activate xp/karma boosts for the whole guild every weekend. We also share various things in the guild bank (dyes, rares, mats)for those who need them.
We are looking forward to grow with mature, active people who will “Represent” us and be part of a cozy place to hang out. Also, i am looking for 1-2 people who would like to be officers and help with recruiting and a few activities.
Thanks and see you in the game!
Ath
What is this plinx you speak of?
forced… this word you use…. I do not think it means what you think it means.
From the depths of my heart, Thank you.
Every-time i see someone writing the word “forced” the only thing that comes to mind is that this person is lacking a significant portion of their brain.
Try this build, it has been invaluable for me. Feel free to tweak it around
its not a warrior only issue but a profession-wide one. It’s acknowledged and being worked on by Anet.
As a temporary fix, try being mobile while attacking. Strafing helps. As for siege weapons, not sure.
From what i have gathered, your guild influence and upgrades are server wide but you can have members in other servers as well. But yeah, if you move you will have your guild, just starting from scratch upgrade wise. All upgrades will remain on your current server for those who are still there. When you return back to your original server, you will have access to those upgrades again.
I am also a guild leader and facing the same issues. I wish we could have a once per month 100% guild transfer or something close to that
I find myself in the land of Pandaria…I’m like…what the kitten?
I quickly log out and log back in Guild wars. Nightmare solved
Human thief, 24
completed 4 times.
Once with a speed boost
Rest of the times with 25% passive from signet(if its applicable in the puzzle)
1) Is that speed boost helps a lot with getting ahead of the green ooze
2) If you are a keyboard turner, its highly unlikely you can do this. You must strafe by the mouse and make pauses of 200-300 miliseconds tops, especially at the very first part.
3) If you need to, stick a small colored sticker on the screen at your characters feet. That way, it doesn’t matter who is on top of you. But also as some already mentioned, when you memorize your character’s center point, you don’t really have to look much at it.
4) Don’t let the adrenaline rush get you because you will lose control of your reactions fast. Take a break and come back after 30 min. You will see that it gets better.
I did it first as a human, with a speed booster and then without.
Good luck!
I like the idea but the issue is that you have no defensive cooldowns to outlast your opponents, especially when they are a ranged dps.
I use a similar type of build as a warhorm/sword warrior and i find it that it works great but i have alot of condition removal abilities and i have heavy armor.
Still i would like to try your build in wvw with caltrops/Shortbow spam
@Edelweiss
I appreciate your comment but i see such flaws in your statements that show that you haven’t even tried the build or even payed close attention to it what so ever.
First off there is no such thing as top tier classes. I have fought and successfully defeated every class 1v1, and have also lost to them in wvw and sPvP. A skilled player will give me a hard time, no matter the class.
Second, please take a look at your statement: “Sword builds (our best condi weapon) do more damage with Berserker’s rather than with Rampager’s/Rabid/Carrion.”. Are you aware that Berserker’s set has no +condition damage on it what so ever? It is in fact the worst set to have as a condition warrior.
Thirdly, you mention that i have low HP/armor. Investing more into them will make my conditions extremely weak. What you are suggesting is in fact contradictory to your statement. You basically start by saying that my damage is terrible and suggest something which would make it even more terrible.
Additionally, let me say that i have successfully outlasted almost every single thief i have encountered.
Again, all comments are appreciated but please do your homework first
(edited by Ath.2531)
@phaeris
Understood. Would you further elaborate your experience with it? Also, have you used the correct rune/sigil setup as shown in the link? I actually find this build excellent for 1v1-1v2, 1vzerg but its made to outlast, not to outburst.
Check Anfuhrer’s build for endless condition removals here
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Anfuhrer-s-warrior-build-to-maximized-spanking/first#post478820
@Ljiona
I updated the build to include leg specialist. It was an error from my part not to include it as i am currently using it.
@LameFox: From what i have gathered as of now, it seems to be adding the bleed stacks since the sigil doesn’t say from which ability the bleed should be applied from. I will do further testing with and without the sigil and give you and update.
@ WhysoSully.4652
Yes, it does activate. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Last_Stand
As for your signet of Rage question, i use 6x Superior Rune of Lyssa: http://www.gw2db.com/items/49978-superior-rune-of-lyssa
The benefits of the 6 piece set are simply amazing. (but so is its cost: 1g20s on Anvil rock)
This build is definitely not an attack 1 spam.
I wasn’t saying the build was 1111 spam. I was saying that the current combat mechanics and itemization are dubious for sustaining a build actually focused on Warrior condition damage, when a weapon+attack that is tuned for condition damage performs better with power gear.
Flurry would obviously lean way further to Carrion or Rabid stat spreads than 1111. However, it’s pretty questionable to build around 1 ability (nevermind 1 condition).
I totally understand where you’re getting at. I keep rampager’s because it synergizes with my sigils below
Warhorn: Superior Sigil of Earth(+60% Chance on Critical: Inflict Bleeding (5 Seconds)
Rifle: Superior Sigil of Rage(10% chance on crit to gain quickness for 3 sec)
It makes flurry really nice and also adds some extra damage from crits
Apart from that, Carrion is absolutely a good choice with the setup as well
As a warrior I’d suggest that you try this build:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Anfuhrer-s-warrior-guide-to-maximized-spanking/first#post476821
let the thief bring you down at 25% then pop endure pain + heal + elite skill(with lyssa 6 set all boons)
By the time endure pain has expired you will have almost a full hp bar and the thief will have excausted their spamming. Aditionally, the thief would have gone through 8 seconds of your retaliation.
@ EasymodeX
This build is definitely not an attack 1 spam. You can build adrenaline by rifle and a few sword attacks and bulls rush+ frenzy for an amazing bleed application. Make sure they have used at least a couple for their condition removal abilities before doing so.
@phaeris
Let me know how it works out for you. Keep in mind that this build is made to outlast your opponents in a group pvp setting and does amazing well in huge aoe zergs. In this build, timing your condition removal is crucial and i use signet of rage defensively. Yes, its a more defensive build but there’s nothing better than finishing off your opponent with >85% hp
Finally devised the ultimate Sword/warhorn + Rifle build which gives superior survivability and a nice damage kick.
Please keep in mind that this build is aimed for wvw/sPvP .
You can find the build here by copying and pasting the link in your browser:
http://www.gw2db.com/skills/calc/warrior#2|15|60|45|915|5728|246|0|0|0|0|20|1525|1523|0|30|1084|1081|2416|20|1518|1507|0|0|0|0|0|0|0|0|28013|28033|49978|49978|49978|49978|49978|26058|48792|0|0|0|0|
Gear: Full Exotic Rampager’s set (power, precision, condition damage)
with Superior Rune of Lyssa: http://www.gw2db.com/items/49978-superior-rune-of-lyssa
On sword: Superior Sigil of Agony(10% increased bleeding duration)
On warhorn: Superior Sigil of Earth(+60% Chance on Critical: Inflict Bleeding (5 Seconds)
On rifle: Superior Sigil of Rage(10% chance on crit to gain quickness for 3 sec)
This build focuses on survivability but don’t be fooled.
BIG Pros:
1) Nice condition damage from armor set + points in Arms and +70% condition duration (50% from Deep cuts + 10% from Sigil of Agony +10% from lyssa rune set)
2) Amazing tankiness with a lot of points invested in Defence and Tactics
3) Remove conditions like there’s no tomorrow
(2 from warhorn skills, 2 form heal, All from elite skill omg) – from rune set
4) Gain boons like there’s no day after tomorrow
(2 from warhorn skills if converted from condition, all boons from elite skill) – from rune set
5) Access to retaliation twice. One from Spiked armor + one from using elite skill
6) Great heals from investing in the Defence tree
7) Superior Sigil of Rage on rifle can pack a punch of bleeds when it pops quickness and it usually does because i have high crit% (65%ish)
Cons: Try it out and let me know
Good against:
1) Ability spammers where you can chain retaliation + pop endure pain.
2) Condition Builds. Your condition removal is insane.
3) High burst builds. save your endure pain until around 25% HP + pop it with heal + elite skill = almost full HP bar in a couple of seconds.
Bad against: Try it out and let me know
Let me know what you think and feel free to ask away. I will be using this build during the weekend a lot so i will giving you frequent updates.
Rock on
(edited by Ath.2531)
why dont you guys stop complaining and start playing a warrior as it’s meant to be? Stop running glass cannon builds and wonder why everyone is 1 shotting you.
One example: check yojack’s min/max build and tweak it for wvwvw or spvp. I run wvwvw as a warrior and my survivability is simply astounding.
Benefits:
1) Great condition damage
2) i can remove 5 conditions on demand (2 of them converted to boons)
3) perma sprint for me and my group
4) small heals from shouts
… just one. This one.
As Bsquared has said, the dungeon finder feature is one of the things that destroyed the social aspect of most mmos for many of us. It promotes selfishness and instant gratification, something i never, ever want to see in guild wars 2.
The harder it is to find a group, the better you can bond and make friendships with those that you will eventually group with
@Flyfunner
Crew of Misfits at Anvil Rock.
My guild runs a balanced group consisting of a tanking geared guardian, a support warrior(me), a support or dps ranger and another 2 dps. We run all parts of AC in around 2 hours.
One good strat in AC 2 is to have a tank round up the adds and keep them aggroed while everyone kills them. glass cannon builds here have a hard time.
In AC 3 we have the tank kiting the extra adds while we kill the burrows. I keep my group sprinting non stop and removing conditions via warhorn + shouts and occasional heals.
Also, see if at least 1-2 of your team mates can have more of a support build than glass cannon. It helps a lot.
Just as the title suggests: i would really like to be able to save my various armor skins in a bank tab for future use.
Right now i am planning to get a new set from the gem store but i don’t want to replace the armor set skin that i am working to get from dungeons. Saving each and every set for the sake of its looks would take way too much space and that also means that i would have to buy another rare/exotic set to have the stats, which would be really expensive if i want to collect armor sets.
I would really appreciate any input on this idea
I have played around with sword/shield and rifle and i find it effective in terms of survivability/damage.
Yet…i’ve discovered a build that allows me to put around 20+ bleed stacks on a target in around 5 sec. and follow up with an eviscerate. It does need a precise execution for it to work
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQRAsX3ejgONv5OKPMxBCjiiEkzjkMFyrU0m7A
1) Savage leap, Hamstring(for pvp)Dual strike(for pve) and whirling axe your target. You should have full adrenaline. flurry asap. This will put 20+ bleed stacks
2) Switch to axe/shield (should have at least half full adrenaline) and finish off your target with chop/shield bash for interrupts and a full adrenaline eviscerate.
Keep in mind that this will not always work but it will put a lot of heavy pressure on a target.
The cons is no range
