Yes, another Vengeful Hammers bug report. As always. This Revenant skill is so kitten buggy.

1. Doesnt work in narrow passages
2. often breaks but still drains energy
3. often breaks when enemy is blocking
4. often fails on even ground with no obstacle for no reason (Videoproof)

Death does not always equal failure, and living does not always equal success.

Overall its basic failure. Yes you can “use” the view from your corpse etc. But this “use” is the reward. Not the loot in this case. You can get a rewarded item for every single thing. Yes you even get rewarded for logging in.
Maybe we should get rewards every 1min we’re alive in combat.
Maybe we should get passive rewards when around a CMD.
etc etc.

The actual reward of staying alive is playing the game and killing more. Your death is already rewarded. Not for you, no. For the enemy. You now have to get your butt up and WP. Penalty. Even minigolf has it. Saw no one complain there yet.

so then the moral is to just take a bunch of defensive stats, and tag things and then escape. 100% don’t play risky and definitely always have tons of vit + tough. Ok got it. Also whether or not its feasible for them to change it is a different subject.

1. Good idea, to get to know your class better, put some more defensive stats in so you know how stuff goes.

2. Why are you in WvW? For fights? Or for the loot only?
A: If youre here for the fights you wouldnt care but would understand the declined loot for dead people (isnt really declined, just get ressed or WP fast).
B: If youre here for the loot, and the loot only, you should consider going PvE.

This guy was in WvW way more than 1-2 hours and still had those buffs. He was running non stop around YB keep and no one could kill him no matter how many attacked him.

You don’t want Revenant to fall down the Thief route do you?
Try asking them about preparedness.

Thief is still the no.1 roaming class for WvW and the most challenging for Revenant.
Doesnt look downward for me in that case.

Nomads is the cheap verson of Minstrel. So yes with Minstrel you can go full support Rev and Ele. But thats it. Other classes have more usefull attribute combinations. But you can go full Nomad bait warrior which is fun tbh.

There is more stuff in WvW than just holding a structure. Its about the amount of people you use for it. Use too many → less outcome in PPT since they could be capping somewhere. Also, you get nice PPK. Waypoints vanish when capping a keep. So theres a delay onto defending other structures around. Many structures get defended because you can farm the attackers. This works when the PPK by killing attackers is bigger than the lost PPT by your own keep. Its also to show dominance.

I’ve never had an issue using it. You can solo towers with it even. It has a dash, you can stealth yourself, block projectiles and damage gates/walls. Sure it was nerfed a bit after beta, but it still can be useful if used correctly.

Just need to use it with power class, full bloodlust stacks. Use powerfood.

What’s going on with these MUs?

As a Dazgo, i get forced into a timeout/break from WvW because of ANets MUs..

No reason to play this week, thanks a lot. Vabbi zergs everything and everybody down to ground. No chance at all. Roaming amd Zerging impossible against this predominance (in numbers!!)..

Fun to play? Doing reward-tracks? Try to conquest something? Maybe next time… oO Why you are not interested in a real (mean: playable!) WvW-MU? Why?

As said, the AM/Dz side got enough players. I whispered some and asked why the amount of thieves and rangers is so high, and that they dont have proper builds. 3 guys said that most of the people just play for themselves. Maybe you guys need some new cmds who push you people out of laziness. AM could do just fine, you got the numbers. But atm, when you got queue and cmd, still 90% are on roaming classes, we just need half the people to plow through. Cmon, you can do it!

It’s not that i have been playing much recently, but the kodash mu this week is a waste of my time.

The linkings are still a mess, the mus are a mess, no reason to play.

Stopping the linking, and play WvW as it was pre HoT, that would be nice. So servers can establish in their ranking area and dont drop and rise like hell.

Well I dont know which server is complaining, AM or RoF. We had some nice fights with RoF yesteday after reset even thought Vabbi won them. If AM is complaining, well check out their “blob”. its 50 people of thieves, druids, basic bearbow rangers. Every other class on roaming build. They got the numbers but dont use them.

Because we dont have any decent condi ranged weapon i would suggest to change Field of the mists on hammer to be a icefield to have synergy with abyssal chill.

1. ridiculously useless, Hammer is physical damage. End of sentence. Why change it.

2. Revenant gets Shortbow in next expansion, which will be condition damage based. So why change something we have now, if we get what we need anyway?

Though the leak said longbow for revs?

It said Bow. I bet it will be shortbow since its only used by 2 classes yet (Thief, Ranger), while LB has Warrior, Ranger, DH. Not sure though.
And yes, Icon looks like it, also the picture of the Rev holding the quite small bow screams for shortbow.

I don’t see why these “new” servers can’t start with a mid tier rank and let the system move them up or down until they get to the right place. At least then the other servers are likely to actually stand a change at least 50% of the time.

If you create a new sport team, regardless of the sport. You start at the bottom. Doesnt matter if you have top players or not. You start at the bottom.

I fear this suggestion encourages K-training and zerging. Prefer the current system more than would want to encourage the “we can flip it back” mentality.

could add a cap. Recent patches didnt caused karma blobs all the way, fights are still prefered. So its like “defend SM and dont give them pips and get loot, or give it to them, run away and cap it back later”. I doubt any decent CMD would still give it up. But you could do a max. quest repeat number like “Max. 3 times SM per day”, but the “20 player kills” or “20 killer revives” could be infinite etc.

Im using the duneroller on a regular base. Its already extremly strong. You can do 1700 dmg on a T1 wall and take it down in like 2mins. And still be fast enough to run away from everything except condi. Also you can take out almost every defending siege when switching to action cam. So I dont know where your problem is.

In my opinion, the pip system right now is making it to attractive for people to go AFK on an outnumbered map. Also you just have to keep up your Participation.

This could be a solution:

1.) Increase the needed pips for single chests by ~20% to compensate for 2.)

2.) Put an additional Tab at the WvW window for extra pip aquisitions like:

- each 20 Playerkills -> 1 pip
- Capture Stonemist Castle -> 3 pips
- Capture a keep -> 2 pips
- Capture a tower -> 1 pip
- Revive 10 players -> 1 pip

And to compensate the outnumbered farm:

Remove the outnumbered +5 pips per tick. Instead, outnumbered players gain double pips by the extra quests named in 2.)
This will cause people to be active on outnumbered maps, whilst still getting more rewards/pips

This adds a little tournamentish tone to WvW. The additional tab could be made similar to the achievements, with filling bars. Once you filled the bar you get the pips.

Why would you stop people from throwing siege on downed people? Because if you do, they will just do something else to make you feel humiliated. To prevent that, just dont make it personal. Unless you want to disable jumping on corpses with Enchanted Snowball on, or without transformations. Or /dance on your corpse or whatever.

For solo play, you will get ganked by alot of condi thieves, and condi everything. By switching to mallyx instead of shiro for example you still dont get enough resistance to handle condi spam.

For blobs, theres a backline build with herald/shiro Hammer/Staff.
Then theres a melee blob build which is recommended, going with mallyx and dwarf with same weapons as backline.
Last viable build for WvW is the Healbot Revenant with Ventari, which is hard to gank. Shows its true potential when roaming in a small group of min 2 people. Also really useful for blobs. Kinda difficult to master due to the tablet coordination.

Most of the pvp changes will have an effect on the balance and is basically a microenvironment for testing. If the balance changes are good they will make into PvE and WvW probably.

This is anet strategy from 3 years ago. Now its just pvp and leave alone WvW because they see WvW as NPC grinder nowadays. Its basically PvE for them.

ye got the same problem every day, full inventory because of 20 brown chests which dont stack at all, even though I do the same reward track all over again. Then you end up with 4 times the greens you had clogging up your inventory before. Yes nice mats and all, now WvW is really rewarding and paying back the money you waste for food/utilities. But you also end up with 20 green sigils/runes… gnah.

Nah I think energy should decay to zero out of combat so you have to build it up just like adrenaline. Its too op right now and needs to be nerfed. Also wouldn’t hurt to increase the energy cost of some of the weapon skills like staff 4. Right now revs can remove TWO conditions with a 1sec cast-time skill. I don’t get how that hasn’t been rebalanaced to 25e yet. My condi reaper can barely stack condi on revenant because of that skill being spammable every 15seconds.

Found this to be a problem in every game mode: Once you go out of combat, you loose all energy which is above 50%. When youre below 50%, the energy is building up by time.

I’m playing several builds, healrev in WvW has a huge disadvantage when going out of combat. Just needs a CC, youre stuck at backline and heal melee group with tablet. No outgoing/incomming damage -> energy drops INSTANTLY to 50%.

Duel situation vs thief: Both low HP, thief runs out of combat, thief gains initiative pretty fast while Revenants energy drops back down instantly.

In any situation, also PvE, it just needs a second out of combat to loose all built up energy instantly. In my opinion the decay should be over time with a tiny delay (Blinking energy bar?)

Missing traits for Energymanagment

This is just my opinion, but Revenant lacks traits in EVERY traitline, since there isnt any, about energy management.

This could solve the problem, that Revenant has both CDs and Energy. Some skills consume a ridiculous amount of energy whilst having a high CD such as Reinspiring Reinforcement.

Possible traits could be:

- Energy by chance on crit (Devastation)
- Energy by chance on dodge (since stab AFTER successful dodge got completly useless) (Invocation)
- Energy when interrupting an enemy (Herald)
- Energy when getting stunned/dazed etc. (Retribution)

Of course the energy reward shouldnt be insanly high, but should add more fluidity in the skill rotations.

What do you guys think?

Well since I guess I’m not the only one struggling with the targeting, which is party wide AND personal, I made up this short graphic to show how this issue can be improved.

Explanation:
Youre in a squad/party. Someone targets a player/NPC. But you want to have another personal target for yourself. Switching the target causes to loose the marking for the whole party.

Solution:
Adding a new target icon which can blend over the regular icon when party AND your personal target are the same.

In this example:
Ctrl + T (regular target, visible for the whole party)
Ctrl + R (Personal targe, visible only for yourself)
If Ctrl + T and Ctrl + R on same target, the icons will blend together, of course the design has to be simple and easy to identify.

Check out my quick graphic to make it easier to understand.
I guess its a pretty simple thing to implent, but makes stuff a lot more easier and can be used for better coordinations. (Yes I’m aware of the squad markers, but this is quite simpler and easier)

This improvement would be extremly viable in WvW (where conflicts due to cross targeting happen alot).

THIS would be much better. Outnumbered wasnt rewarded before except for reward track and no repairs. Now its THE possibility to farm. Complete nonsense

No Loyalty Bonus

We need to update the loyalty pip description.

You need to earn at least 75 pips for 3 weeks in a row to earn the loyalty bonus. We wanted players to have to participate in skirmishes to be considered loyal.

got more than 75 pips, the loyalty pip still didnt pop up.

Who didnt had the problem in a squad, that several people are targeting several targets. For example a healer wants to have the CMD on target, the CMD wants the opponent CMD on target to see their next movements. You cant make a squad for every target. Then we would end up with 50 tags.
We need, additional to Ctrl + T targeting which is party/squad-wide, another possibility to target for yourself only. Ctrl + R or whatever, doesnt matter which shortcut. But make it more visible than the crossair we have now.

Well, we used to get trolled by rams, but since they have a faster decay timer, trolls switched to ballistas, useless on walls and are up 1 hour

Havent fought this server since months. Spy sabotage didnt happen for months.
In this MU were fighting this server. Coincidence it happens again?

Got all sups wasted in EB keep with ballistas and got siege capped. 10 mins later said server attacks our keep. What a coincidence.

Every corner of EB keep has ballistas, if you need more screenshots just ask.

and what makes you think that is a bug? Having skills interrupted shouldn’t have consequences?

Interrupted skills dont go full CD and dont consume full resources. Also its not a charged attack. If the casttime gets interrupted it shouldnt consume energy.

Pain Adsorption is consuming 35 energy even when interrupted. In times of condi bombs in WvW its essential to have this skill unbugged.

Edit: happend 100% of the time
1. Try to cast Pain Adsorption
2. get interrupted while casting it
3. Skill interrupted, 35 energy less

Congrats surviving with this in the current condi meta. Just make it an instant cast.

Noticed with several people that if Bravost in EB gets flipped, it appeared the message in chat that Langor got flipped. Just flipped those probably, dont know if its the other way round, we havent lost Langor yet.

I’ve never even heard of the “wiggle” strategy is used in WvW.

Anyone hear a commander callout a wiggle stack, or a wiggle blast, or a wiggle bomb?

Sometimes on drunk raid in WvW. But I guess thats just due to the intoxication. Prevents further toxication by condi.

Rev Tablet not working in WvW EB blue keep

The tablet doesnt move to higher ground on some places in WvW. I’m pretty sure that the same thing happens in PvE aswell, only that I never use it in PvE.
The ventari tablet is moving through structures instead of onto them as seen in the video.

Locations where this happens:

- Blue keep EB water gate
- Quentin Lake Tower EB, water-way on the side of Danelon Mine. When Casting the tablet in the water, and moving it up the hill to the passage to Danelon Mine, the tablet will disappear in the ground still on water level. You have to loose the tablet or switch legends to get the tablet back on high ground.
