As the title says, “Drop the Hammer” doesnt have a ground indicator. When stomping someone in WvW its quite difficult to figure out if the hammer animation on you will CC you or just damage the enemy. Theres no clue to figure out in 1 second wether the hammer will strike you or not. This is even annoying when people blast waterfields and I dodge out of it by reflex.
Why not encourage scouting and roaming with creating marker-traps?
Scouts/roamers will have the ability (like all other traps) to set down markers (just one at a time like the other traps). If an enemy crosses the marker-traps, enemy players in a 1200-1500 range get marked for 30s-1min.
I think this could be a nice but subtle improve improvement when this marking works like a shorttime sentry.
Any comments on that?
Well since you just need the Gift of Battle, just stick around with the class you feel most comfortable with and compare the meta builds, just go close to it. Then you just need to run in blobs, pick a ranged weapon class, and just tag everything, until your Participation Level is full. Then just pick a few Boosters which increase the gain by Participation and just kill an NPC every 3mins. Watch a movie besides so you dont get bored, water your plants etc.
I’m tired of going into options in WvW each time I switch from roaming to blobbing. Could we get the possibility to add a shortcut-key for this? Would be awesome.
This is a serious issue playing this class. I’m talking for the WvW mode since Rev got stomped in PvP. I dont understand why this class is getting nerfs (some were ok-ish) while huge bugs arent solved. The pre-nerf skills just compensated the enormous bugs!
- Precision Strike: still aims at non exsisting Objects or sth else (The heal-backpack at sentries, the ballistas above gates which arent even there, walls, walls, walls, flowers) instead of an enemy
- Unrelenting Assault: still aims at non exsisting Objects or sth else (The heal-backpack at sentries, the ballistas above gates which arent even there, walls, walls, walls, flowers) instead of an enemy
- Unrelenting Assault: impossible to go roaming in WvW without meeting some condition spammer, 5 stacks of confusion + UA? say goodbye! It still hits you every hit!
- Phase Smash: Shouldnt this be like shadowstep? ignoring all the Guard-lines and static fields? Pretty unclear.
- Forced Engagement: Is NOT a projectile, though gets reflected so I get taunted. If its not a projectile, just make it similar to the Mesmer greatsword autoattack or Druid staff autoattack.
- Vengeful Hammers: They still disappear in narrow passages. Its the only skill which is completly useless when you defend a keep, for example Overlook on EB (the narrow steps), and they disappear as soon as you cast it. Your opponent is standing close to a wall? Well, they will just disappear too. If you are afraid of them casting through a gate, you should take a look at eles meteor, no one cares about casts through gates.
- Inspiring Reinforcement: If you got swiftness on, and lag a bit due to player numbers (just a tiny lag) you wont get one stability buff if running forward.
- Phase Traversal: Gets also stopped by Guard-lines, static fields etc. Look at thief, there it works.
I like the class. I dont know if devs actually try to solve those bugs, never saw an answer to any of those threads. The class is now ~1 year old, and we have major bugs. Please fix those instead of nerfing it to the ground. The nerfs might be justified, but those skills actually helped to compensate those bugs (there are more, those are just which I feel every day, every hour of playing this class).
I use it as a door stopper.
Oh yes. So its not buggy, but it still works if you weaponswap afterwards then instead of before to get rid of a few.
Thought of a simple Rev roaming build which I tryied for a few days. Due to the lack of damage against physical builds, its pretty hard to face illusion chrono. Warrior is still not that hard.
Tested mainly against condi necro (really easy) and condi trapper thief (working well) and condi engi (will bomb himself)
Pulsating pestilence sometimes bugs out with cleansing sigil which could be swapped out. The additional poison (about 12s by sigil + 8s by trait) keep the healing low.
Its not OP against anything except condi necro, but handles condis quite nice if you swap you weapons and THEN invoke your legend so the sigil for cleansing is on CD, you still loose 4 condis through invoking (1 lost, 3 transfered).
I mostly use hammer instead of staff (poor dusty Nevermore) for roaming since it works well after thieves run away (doing that all time). Im a bit rusty with staff, if you find it easier to use it instead of hammer, go for it.
comments on Dulfy say the same: no more buttcapes, give us the option to hide them please.
They dont even add armor to the game and prefer to add outfits since its less work. Why would you even think they would bring a new race?
Title says enough. The new outfit is the proof. Atleast give us an option to hide it. I dont want a completly different outfit only because I change from male to female. The more people will ask for no more buttcapes, well maybe someone does sth about it. Shouldnt be that hard to remove it per option.

in WvW im standing next to the Waypoint with Glint on and go AFK so people can stack up swiftness on me.

I understand that Rev has some deadly combos which are known for everyone. Those got nerfed like hell. But instead of boosting other skills in the game THE SAME AMOUNT others got nerfed (50% less dmg staff5? wth?) we just get more nerfs. Its incredibly depressing to play Rev since it came out.

Well yes, but then they should fix up this stuff. Chaotic Release is also “releasing chaotic winds” which is a movement from A to B but ofc doesnt get reflected due to common sense. No projectile-no reflect. Grenades should simply be made projectiles which they are.
And another Rev Bug:
Dwarven stances “Forced Engagement” does get reflected on the caster when being cast through Wall of Reflection, Warrior Shield Reflect and Engi Bubblereflect and… Yea you know where this is going. Its NOT a projectile, just compare it with mesmers GS1.
Yes let’s nerf one of weakest skills in game. Nobody even play condi necro in WvW.

Bug No.1:
Its known they vanish when you get close to an obstacle/wall OR UNEVEN GROUND, you cant use those hammers at the side of a hill since they dont adapt the ground! And Anet seemed to confirm this is a wanted feature. But seriously, theres no other skill just vanishing when close to an object. I cant even use this kitten skill in narrow passages, what the hell is this. Try to defend EB OL keep at the stairways and cant use it? Well thanks alot!

The hammers dont crit, its not specified they cant.
Cant you atleast try to make Jalis a mediocre legend for out-of-blob fights by simply unbugging it?

Got buff too and cant cap sentries. Since relog doesnt vanish the buff I cant roam for 15 hours, thanks.
That will be hard on guilds that recruit players from other servers, especially on lower tier where off hours guilds mostly recruit not from within the servers but rather from other servers.
If you wanna lock upper tiers, sure but don’t drag the lower tiers into it when they need the most help.
Opposite: The guild knows when to recruit people from other servers and when not. A week before transfer opens you can talk to everyone you like to join your server/guild, and as it opens they can transfer. Yes its harder, but with some organisation it could be quite nice.
Also, transfering to a server is not a normal thing then, transfering will have a value.
My suggestion to avoid this:
Make server transfers only possible 2 week BEFORE the new serverlinking is happening, like an open transfer-window for 1 week. So people have to decide while a Matchup is up, not when they see where they get most of the loot right after re-linking.So players may have to wait 2 months before allowed to transfer to the server where their guild mates are? Don’t you think that’s a bit too harsh?
Why so? If you organize your guild transfer on this timewindow you got no problems.
Revenant doesnt even have a Juggernaut Effect, your sword should be fixed with GW3

every once a while the servers are re-merged with others right now. So guilds and many players transfer to smaller servers which are merged with high populated servers AFTER the merge. They got massive blobs and farmfests.
My suggestion to avoid this:

a thief crying about stealth? Ahahaha this made my day. Thief has the lowest CD on blocks, has enough evades, ports, dodge attackes and stealth btw. and they still cry. sorry im cracking up, always good to laugh in the morning.
how Hammer useless now?
Well, for PvE purposes, its damage is way lower that the sword.
For WvW raid/large teams, his main tool (Coalescence of Ruin) was double-nerfed
Hammer is still doing fine in WvW blobs if you dont go backline, you need a melee build with Jalis and Glint. CoR is still one of the few skills which do high damage on 1200 range but not being a projectile, it can hit through every reflections. With a bit timing you can cast Jalis Elite to be up for your group 50% of the time.
And PvE wise: sword was always the high dps weapon, and hammer the ranged lower dps for lazy times.
Problem at the moment are constant nerfs but no actual important bug fixes, just smaller unimportant ones. UA is still bugged, same like precision strike. Staff5 still only draining one time with shiro daggers.
I actually got better chances with the Melee Blob Build against thieves. Jalis for protection and if the thief runs away just taunt him. Hammer and Staff. But youre just static and need to hope for 2 good Hammer2 hits. Essence Sap is still the most overpowered steal skill ingame and thief can easily outplay you.
everyone gets tons of these, just ignore and move them somewhere else.
Then check your key combinations ingame, maybe some key got a weird second function which causes this.

Well I was wondering since they do fight when idle and then get untauntable when walking. Also it shouldnt matter if the Dolly doesnt want to fight, I kittening taunted it.
check your mouse. I had the same issue for days and kept wondering why I was loosing target at some point. It didnt stop. Then I tested my mouse with photoshop, simply clicking and moving and I saw an additional dot sometimes. The mechanic was broken and did doubleclicks from time to time which made me loose my target. Try to clean the mechanic with some air pressure.
Would be quite funny if there wouldnt be “xD” everywhere.

i hope you wont come back here to complain on how easy is for your enemy spies to intercept your server’s ppt units and wipe by their fight squads
since gw2 is f2p, spying isnt worth it anymore since everyone can do it anyway. IF you have a spy account, and want to spy, you just log through each 4 maps or just go onto TS and then log your normal account. you will hear where the cmd is and where he borderhops.
Since the teamchat got merged, there would be a nice feature to avoid “do we have a cmd?” “cmd anywhere?” “WHERES THE kitten FARMFEST??!?”:
If theres a tag on EB for example, just show one blue cmd icon at the WvW-Window where you choose the battleground.
I wouldnt add numbers as in “3x red tag” or list them “Red tag, red tag, red tag” etc, just once as the window might crash if everyone on the BL tags up.
This could be helpful for off-time playing, for example I go online at 9 am and just want to know if we have a tag. I dont need to enter the maps, I can see it from PvE-maps. Also I dont need to ask in the server guild.
What do you think?
For example Forced Engagement doesnt affect Dolyaks in WvW. Theyre about to enter a portal, you try to taunt. They keep on running. Its like theyre walking siege.

Next time you do a nerf, could you first remove bugs like the UA and Precision random targeting (since 1 year!) ? It doesnt help to remove bugs (the ele aura with UA) and nerf other skills and traits to the ground. While mesmer got boonshare builds nerfed, all other builds got pushed for example. Revenant just gets constantly nerfed. I love the basic Revenant mechanics and hoped that anet would simply reduce the damage a bit BUT fix the skills so the mechanic doesnt get lost. Now we have a kittened up mechanic which relies on 1-2 predictable combos, terrible heal and still gamebreaking bugs like instant deaths with UA and confusion stacks.
Please do something.

doesnt mean you guys should just put them ingame before any testing on your own. Dont you have a test server? I mean it just takes 10min and 1 person to see of the timer works, if it gets proper damage and if it hits through gates and other stuff. Maybe 20min. But shouldnt you take this time to make sure it doesnt get exploited like now?
My suggestions:
- Portable Walls (50 supplies per regular keep sized wall piece)
- Portable Gates, to fill the gaps between the Portable Walls. (100 supplies per Gate)
- Portable Supply Depots (90 supplies per Depot, grants 100 supplies ready to be picked up when built, wouldnt that be even more genious than cannons? I KNOW!)
lets not start with UA or Precision Strike. Just be happy when you land a single hit.
