Maybe thats because people feel like anet has canceled the whole WvW-support. I saw I got aggressive and salty the last months. No reason to act like this in PvE. But WvW is just depressing.

I am sorry if players feel that way. I see it in posts, sure. But I believe we’ve made it clear that the game mode has not been abandoned. That was confirmed quite recently when a dev made some comments about upcoming changes. Unfortunately, the thread devolved into dev bashing, and the OP asked that we remove it.

I feel that while things may not be perfect, they are not as dire as some forum members paint them. Continuously dwelling on the negative isn’t necessary or productive and it doesn’t represent the true nature of the game mode.

Well, but just take a look what has happend in WvW in the last year: Almost nothing except of some siege-experiments. No work in:
- Dire/Trailblazer condi bombs, condi being too strong for being passive
- Missing added condi cleanse skills to several classes
- Runaway thieves
- Unplayable with 3-server blobfights
- Server linking gone terribly wrong

Sorry if this sounds too negative, its just that I love GW2 because of WvW, I spent so much time and effort in it. But having to face the bad sides every day make it less joyful.

if we nerf dp and trickery we can “overbuff” everything else, because thief has been balanced solely around dp for about 2 years now they can’t really buff the other traitlines or else dp would become even more unbalanced compared to the rest

I think what I said changes little. Expanding access to legends doesn’t fix what’s wrong with the legend skills or make the idea feel any less like the Ele concept.

I know. But since the adjustment of the legends themselves takes way more time and effort (And we know that Revenant isnt getting one of those), I thought adding a third legendary is like a cheap shortcut version which will outplay the BETA-phased legends.

Very not true. I know for a fact you will always get marked going to Danelon from Blue Spawn if Langor has a watchtower. I would assume there are more, I know Bravost “woods” area will mark you unless you cut up the first switchback near the drakes.

No youre not, just pass by Quentin Lake. Also this is about leaving spawn, not heading camps. EB is a different matter. OPs problem are prolly watchtowers on a servers home borderland. As invader you have 3 entrances on ABL.

First of all, the op was talking about EBG spawn towers.

Second of all I’m sure grimjack is talking about going to danelon from blue spawn through langor, in which case you would be marked going around that tower as you’re right below it you don’t have a choice there. Not to mention that guard if it’s the enemies would detect you as well. That side isn’t the best way to go to avoid detection anyways.

The problem is the watchtower area of detection is obviously too wide. Hell NET in alpines use to detect enemies down on the road to NEC. This is a problem that they probably can’t fix since towers have different sizes and heights, unless they figure out the largest one that needs covering and adjust the area for that. The area of detection really just needs to be just beyond the walls, not a kitten mile away from it.

So? thats counting for every spawntower on EB except Bravost and Mendons. Those towers are easy to capture since you can build spawntrebs.

The WvW Laurel Merchant doesnt sell Ogden’s Ankh or the Aspect Amulet (both Nomad Amulets). The PvE laurel vendors do sell them. Cant get the discount with badges. Jurah’s Jewel missing, too.

the adition of 1 more legend to the rota would be interesting but first you would have to take the energy cost from weapons to balance out the cost vs abilities that have it and buff other legends so they are actually worth swaping to like shiro :/

Actually theres no need for that anymore. You could go hammer backline rev for example with Glint and Shiro and have mallyx in case you get condi bombed. Or Jalis for extra defense. Ofc ventari will be useless for that build but hey its not different from traits: not everything suits your build

Minstrel is better if youre going full healing instead of Nomad. I got Minstrel armor/Weapons and Nomad accessoires (easy to get) on my heal-rev, and you can just run with melee and dont need to worry about dodges, and just heal the heck out of everyone.

So ive seen a guy running down from WP on APL to Redlake tower just to hit a piece of siege over there. Once he achieved it, he logged off, came back and did the same thing all over. Tried to stop him, he logged off. No loot, no WXP. We used to get it.

Envoy of Exuberance not reaching player

1. Revenants “Envoy of Exuberance” is supposed to be a flying light orb to the target area, heal over there, come back and grant protection. The orb is barely comming back, only if the ground is completly flat.

2. It fails even more often when walking. Cast it, make a few steps backward, fail.

3. You cant heal someone on a slop since the orb just hovers above the ground

4. Not a bug, but please add some condi cleanse to it, its annoying in the current condi meta

Ranger pets never dies, so, working as intended. Move on.

wtf? Rangers pets NEVER used to keep ressing the player when theyre at zero health. Prolly another one of those exploiters.
Rangers are now unkillable underwater since the pet is dead and I cant interrupt its healing.

When I see anyone ingame, its either an english name, or something german, latin, french, whatever. What do they all have in common? Exactly, everyone can still read them.
Its not hate, its just simplicity. I cant read cyrillic and neither cant the majority of GW2. We dont have chinese letters/words, we dont have Icelandic Runes, we only have the basics. And its more comfortable.
I wouldnt be able to report an exploiter or hacker or whatever with a cyrillic name if its for example a speedhacker and I can target him only for a second (happend alot 2 years ago). To fast to report, but I was able to read the name.

Stop using simplicity as an excuse to yell out racism.

[WvW] Perma Tagged Keep due to Siege-bug

Its not the 1st April anymore, so please get this off us:

The siege spawned at Lowlands Keep (EB) is permanently tagged since the spawning siege is not ours somehow. The other keeps seem not to have this problem.

Can this be fixed soon or do we need to wait for a similar bug in raids?

EDIT: Why is the keep getting tagged only because guards hit something but dont get hit by themselves? Just remove those tiny useless tagging triggers. Just let the stuff get tagged when a structure got significant damage like a ram/catapult.

Saw today that in WvW a ranger got ressed by his pet even though it was at 0 HP. Another ranger ressed some dude with search and rescue, the player died, the pet kept ressing him, HP was going up, pet HP was at 0%.

After one year, the MOST obvious ranged damage skill CoR still is used to nerf Revenant even more? Seriously. The animation is so obvious. As a Revenant myself I barely hit anyone except i just cast it aimless in a blob. And since the animation is unique in this game, I never get hit by it since its so obvious and slow.

Arc Divider on the other hand hits way outside its animation. You can see the sword, you can see the white/yellowish glow by the swing, but its like range 100 infront of my character and still hits.

Fast Stomps need to be removed.

Yesterday i believe I did my very first instastomp (downed on 2nd hit and stomped with 3rd). I was proud but it takes great timing.

thats not instastomp. instastomp is if the person get ‘downed’ by your 3. hit but then it wont go into downstate at all it will just go from standing in front of you to stomped on the floor

Both versions are pretty overpowered.

Since the recent patch we got 2 wonderful, awesome and gameimproving symbols. Theyre golden, silver or bronze. But which colour shows what?

So I thought:
Gold: 1st place in MU
Silver: 2nd place in MU
bronze: 3rd place MU

We are 3rd place in this MU, and have silver tower.

So I thought:
Gold: 1st place in Skirmish
Silver: 2nd in Skirmish
Bronze: 3rd in Skirmish

We are 3rd place in this and most Skirmishes, but have a silver tower.

Anyone knows what they represent?

So I thought:
Gold: Log off condi kid
Silver: Today is your PvE day!
Bronze: The stars aligned in your favour, go use the mystic forge NOW!

Meh, I don’t see how this actually fixes much.

You need so serve more simple fixes. Adding a 3rd legend slot is way easier than reworking all the legends themselves.

If youre on a wall as DH and the enemy is standing downstairs at the wall, when the wall has this round foot (i hope you know what i mean) just pull him up, 1/10 times you can pull him up to YOU, yes up the wall. other 1/10 times he will just skyrocket in the air and die by falling damage.

Killing an NPC grants 1 stack of bloodlust sigil, killing a player grants 5.
Why not also grant 5 stacks for each successfully ressed player? Would maybe make ressing for few people more attractive than just letting teammates die. (Talking about a pugblob now).

Why should ressing people give that? People would get downed on purpose, like setting your house on fire for insurance, just cause it’s profitable. Having downed allies should never be something you can profit on. That’s bad gamedesign.

the people who would go and do that are the ones that also go and kill the neutral mobs outside of every spawn and durning acutall fights they wouldn’t because that would remove any blood lust stacks they would have on them

Exactly, plus: Ressing someone in a blobfight for example is way harder than killing one. You drop a AOE inside the other blob and 5 of them will die prolly, viola: 25 stacks. So with ressing it takes much longer. Take minstrel ventari rev for example.

prolly the necro is lagging, this is completly normal in WvW. Normally you couldnt stomp him then, only range since his corpse is still where you CCed him. Just dont kick corpses away next time.

to add: we are still marked even after teleporting out of the tower, now it says were marked by Kalevala (the guild which captured the tower afterwards)

The other server said it was visible on their minimap (when we tracked our own!)

EDIT: happend twice now (bravost). Had to leave WvW to get the tracker removed

Saw this the first time, we captured a tower, it was claimed by one of our guilds and we all got marked instead of the enemies. You see that pretty clearly on the screenshot (compare the guilds).

Is that the improved WvW UI they were talking about? lol. It’s just an icon. Gosh this game sometimes: You leave for a year and when you come back to check how things have evolved you see that nothing has changed. Even SAB is still stuck at world 2.

More raids, many PvE improvements, PvP seasons.

As a suggestion to buff rev, could shield number 4 “envoy of exuberance” also get the ability to remove 2 conditions so I can have a reason to run sword sword/ sword shield?

I wanted to suggest the same. The condi cleanse is way too low on Revenant, as Staff 4 is the ONLY condi cleanse weapon sided. The other cleanse is on Jalis, nothing else except trait for legend swap. Thats too freaking low. I even dont use shield anymore.

Mesmers don’t even have a skill that can apply all boons when none of those boons are on you.

And Essence Sap is a OP rip off by the downed… DOWNED attack from Rev. Well I keep this issue updated so some dev will finally fix it. Every thief I meet is either condi or spams Essence Sap on me, and if you want to cleanse it with your only cleanse on staff the animation takes so long you will be easily interrupted which adds interupt traits/sigils. Yey.

Even though its a thief related skill, but a stolen ability from Revenant:

Essence Sap is extremly overpowered. I get a 4k crit against 3k armor (isnt much but hey?) and if the thief has double steal trait: its 8k with a 4 second slowdown. I mean wtf? Its CLEARLY overpowered, thieves even hunt Revs down in blobs just to get their steal ability. For a steal ability, this is clearly overpowered.

You know what, I saw that_shaman’s datamining for those symbols and was like
“oh gosh, maybe an event, a surprise tournament???”
and now its like:
“wtf has changed, oh wat. We got 2 tower symbols with different colours?”
Well, I dont know which Dev is working on wvw, but I tell you what: Get a password for you PC, your 5 year old daughter is secretly drawing towers and paints them and uploads them into the UI. Stop her please. No childish behaviour.

My client is constantly crashing since the update (3/28/2017) today. I cant play for 5 mins until it crashes. Sometimes its the log in server, sometimes server connection and sometimes just a simple error. My connection is stable. Does anyone else have the same with the recent patch?

I’ll write every error code down just in case:

I honestly think the Revenant needs more than this to feel complete. They are lacking in two major things – number of skills available (period, not just at one time), and infexibility of their weapon and utility skills in general.

I still think that this would solve the main problem (im not talking about bugs): No Skill variations. Yes you would still not be able to choose freely, but 3 legends grant way more choices and possibilities.

No, it would mostly only grant the illusion of more choices. The reality is that the revenant is severely railroaded due to the very different function each of their legends and weapons.

A good example of this is a condi revenant. The only functional setup whatsoever is Mallyx/Glint + Mace/Axe. What does opening up a third legend actually give them? Not much, since any legend other than Mallyx/Glint won’t do much good. What they really need is more condi options on their weapons and more hybridized skills, or a feature that modifies their weapon skills somewhat based on their current legend.

I don’t necessarily think giving a third legend is a bad idea just for improving the general gameplay, but there are much more important things that should be done.

Many condi revs run shiro instead of glint. So that argument is kinda invalid. Yes Revenant is lacking condition stuff, thats another issue. And still, for example shiro/glint/mallyx would do well with a condi build. Why? You got mallyx for condi stuff, glint for survival and boons and one facet aoe dmg, and then also shiro for escapes/hunting. Since most condi builds use sword/shield + mace/axe, shiro will profit by its heal with UA.

Also for physical builds this would be a huge improvement in choice of skills whilst still not being able to spam them.

We had a revote with cannons. A revote for DBL would be nice. If one has DBL theres a major advantage. 2 months ABL, 1 month DBL. everything would be fine. Why? because we still got EB left.

Big problem I feel when playing Rev, is that chains skills cost energy aswell.
For example Duelists Preparation: 10 Energy on activation, 10 more Energy to use Shackling Wave.
No other class has this, check thief for similar skills (shortbow cluster bomb for example).
Same issue with Staff 2 chain skill. Youre barely able to use both skills.
Please remove the costs for the second skill, the amount of situations where I use it successfully is so kitten low. You have to care about your energy already so much, now keep it up and kite around just for one skill?

Uhm yes and no Look at Flanking Strike/ Larcenous Strike, and Infiltrator Strike/Infiltrators Return both cost Initiative.

then look at the amount. It has the same amount like any other skill5 on weapons. But those chain skills on Revenant have together a 30% higher cost in relation to the 5th skill (costs are compareable)

Staff 2 doesn’t have an Energy cost on the Chain skill and Sword 5 is 15 energy on each skill of skill 4,

There is no rule that states individual skill costs need to be cheaper than skill 5. A lot of Resource costs are the same costs on the same weapons. Sounds like a non Issue, and it’s not like you can’t Legend Swap to instantly get the needed Energy….

Yes, sword 5 takes 15 energy, while sword 4 + chain takes 20 together.
Swapping legends only can be done each 10s and requires the situation to suit it.

Karma to Gold FAST in 2017?

You can buy mid-tier karma gloves and forge them for a salvageable version that breaks down into high-value mid-tier crafting materials (linen, for example). This is time consuming and tedious but has a great karma to gold rate.
