I totally agree with you. A lot of the achievements seem mundane and dare I say, grindy? With the meta reward being a mini or a backpack…neither of which I really want :|

Achievement hunting is good, if it’s something challenging. Not when I have to knock on 50 doors.

I love running GS+Hammer with 0/0/20/20/30 full Knights with Soldier Runes.

Although it may not be as effective as the build Soverign posted; 0/0/20/20/30 build with S/WH + Hammer. It’s really fun.

Not really an “front line tank” build, but more so a “secondary tank”. It’s great if you want to do DMG/Semi-Tank (you can get around 3K Armor if you play around with trinkets)

Here is the trait differences:
Defense: “Merciless Hammer” instead of “Cleansing Ire” (either one is good)
Tactics: “Leg Specialist” instead of “Empower Allies”, and “Lung Capacity” instead of “Quick Breathing”

Utilities: FGJ, Shake It Off, Balanced Stance
Elite: War Banner / Signet of Rage (switch around as needed)
Heal: Healing Surge

This build allows you to CC with Hammer AND do decent DMG; faster skill recharge + more dmg when enemy is disabled + continuous bursts.

For condition removal, since you have soldier runes, you have FGJ = Removes 1 condition, Shake It Off = Stun Break + Removes 2 condition.

Overall Survivability: Decent
Overall Support: Low
Overall Crowd Control: Medium
Overall Condition Removal: Lower than META
Overall DMG: Medium-High
Overall Fun: High!

Secondary tanks shine if they are really quick to move around the zerg and avoid the big hits. The main tanks can really help with the supporting aspect.

And to answer why I use GS; “Quick” Escape/Engage Mechanism (if you are in a zerg you will auto have speed boost anyways). Also being a semi-tank, you can actually HB people without instantly dying…it’s fun to see 10k+ on 3+ enemy

Not sure if this is the optimal way to go with GS/Hammer with a ZvZ, but that’s what I’m doing right now – I’m open to suggestions!

ANet’s armor design team needs an overhaul or better creative inspirations.

Shelling out loads of gold for horrible looking gear defeats the purpose of chasing “vanity” in GW2…which is what ANet seems to have us players strive for…

Well for starters, as someone said awhile ago “ascended weapon is a poor man’s legendary” :P

Secondly, go for ascended weapon if you want the “stat”, go for legendary weapon if you want the “vanity”.

You do 200 damage to Palm Assassin boss. I’ve tested it out on a solo run.

I also have this issue…I have finished World 1 and World 2 in normal mode first of all. But it doesn’t let me start World 2 TM, is that a bug? I really don’t want to do World 1 TM, green skin does not appeal to me at all, but I’m reluctantly doing it.

EDIT: Ghiste that just happened to me, I just finished World 1 Zone 2, but left before it went to Zone 3, now I have to do Zone 2 AGAIN?! wth is this.

I’m quite perplexed, help me out here. Why did you spend $300 on rich coffers, and better yet, why did you spend $800 on gaming this week? From what you said, you have “disposable” income – but $20K is nothing. I understand that it’s your money and you decide how you spend it, but just for ONE skin? Why don’t you look at the opportunity cost man…$300 add $100 more, and order the new PS4 or something. Go out and spend that, go on a vacation, buy someone a gift, donate to children in need, or something.

I too, have “disposable” income, but by no means does it justify shelling out that much for a game.

Sadly some “hopeful” kittens will still buy them. You can no longer use “Supporting the Game! Supporting ANet” with these idiotic RNG purchases. Anytime you open your wallet to blow money, think of the opportunity cost. I’ve been reading/hearing people spend >$50 on these coffers. That’s like one (maybe even two) GOOD game on a console and/or steam – do that instead, that’ll give you 60hrs+ of quality gameplay as opposed to “chance” to get 1 “rare” item in GW2.

Perfect solution: You only get chest from your home server. Keep the 1 chest per character method.

I believe the main issue is the lag & overflow – which would be reduced if guesting didn’t allow you to loot world chests.

I think most people are accepting of Kudzu and it’s covered in flowers and leaves floral footprints. They don’t seem to be bothered by a bow which represents some kind of powerful bond with nature.

Off topic: I don’t like the Kudzu’s footprints, the weapon design I’m fine with, but not the prints…also it lacks aura…thus i’m reluctantly saving all my gold/karma for Twilight (unless something better comes up by the time i’m done)

On topic: I don’t mind the flying unicorn weapon, but definitely not something I will get. I wish they would give us more variety on legendaries…

Why are you complaining? Once you hit lvl80 each time you level you get skill points which you need for various Mystic Forge uses. Also lv80 is where most of the good looking armors are found…

This. Some people, like myself, are pretty busy irl, so we don’t get much game time! Good thing about being a Finance grad is that I can apply basic market knowledge in game and make decent enough profit to not fall behind my friends/guildies that play so much haha

Finance grad myself. Well, actually in my senior year at the moment. I would never try it, but it would be interesting to see how some of these firms I interview with would react to me bringing in Guild Wars 2 data and displaying how I have successfully navigated the markets.

yes because FUN always comes from repeated attempts to FAIL
there should be some sense of getting better not tremendous failure every time everyone should be enjoying this but either cant or find it near impossible to even get past the first few snowflakes
i could care less about the rewards that i dont even like in the first place i would just like to be able to actually complete the damn thing

i will say if i wasnt being slowed down during the puzzle i wouldnt complain but the lack of any ability to do more then a bunny hop due to freezing before i even start is not Fun for me

I’m confused, how are you being slowed down? The only time you need to slow down are for sharp right/left turns and the candy cane area.

Also yes its FUN because you are supposed to learn from your initial mistakes and go further after each try, not repeatedly make the same mistakes -_- Not sure if it’ll help, but I’m sorry that you can’t get it right…

• WASD (left) and mouse view/control (right), or
• arrow keys to control all movement

Call me old-fashioned but the last time I used WASD and the mouse was in HL2. I’ve been using the arrow keys since GW1 and kind of gave up on the reliance of the mouse usage. I do understand this is what can hinder the progress within the specified time, as you’re running up the snowflakes as you’re constantly lining up the next move with the arrow keys, but others aren’t used to using the mouse (like me) which is obviously a lot quicker while just holding W and hitting the spacebar occasionally. Something I gotta get used to again with the JP’s.
