A couple things:
1) Unless you are fighting things way above your lvl you shouldn’t need to do this careful solo pulling. If you are killing one mob then you should be able to handle a couple adds.
2) If you can’t handle the adds then you can just run away. Stuff follows you for like 30 feet in this game, run for 5 seconds and reset the fight.
Right click → report → get account name → message
Has anyone tried creating a guild and using that bank for extra storage?
You can do this if you want but it will take awhile to unlock if you’re solo.
Start having your other members send him messages asking him to demote himself. Really spam him hard. He will crack eventually.
As far as unlocking the skills, there’s an easier and instant way to do it if you don’t mind spending the money: buy the unlock packs, and wa-la! You have heroes with access to every skill in the game, problem solved, now jump out there and get to farming lol.
$10 per skill unlock pack and 5 packs makes this a bit more of a chore than you make it sound. It’s not like a new person is going to have any idea which packs to buy.
And that part is exactly the problem. You assume the probability is the same(or similar), but haven’t proven that as true. Once you take that assumption out, you go absolutely nothing. Which is what I believe the previous poster meant.
“The 1x is the same as the 10x except 1 instead of 10.”
This was posted by a dev on another forum. I would link it but you wouldn’t have access anyway. Believe me or not, I don’t really care. It’s your money.
Myabe there isn’t a reset option because you’ll eventually get them all, so if you make some mistake you can always fix it after a while.
Exactly. There is no limit to skill points which means there is no need to reset them.
Ashford -> Iron Marches -> Fireheart.
If you are low lvl just strip and run for it.
If you need help navigating try this http://gw2cartographers.com/
Somewhere inside your race’s home city will be a purple swirly portal that takes you to Lion’s Arch. From LA you can hop to any of the other home cities. The starting area will be right outside the city.
edit: alternatively you can just open the pvp menu and go to the mists and then run through the purple swirly portal that’s right in front of you to get to LA. Might be easier if you’ve never run through your home city before.

You can also go to the other starting zones if you find yourself short on levels to complete hearts in an area. Don’t forget your personal story gives exp as well. Also at lvl 13 your lack of trait points is only a minor deal. I promise that you will be able to grind out your 10s without kittening yourself.
Edited to add: And with how dead my server seems….I don’t think posting on AH will help me get money faster. Pretty sure with the crickets I heard there this morning that if I did post stuff it would be a day or 2 before I saw a return on it. Is there a way (with out paying for it) to xfer to another server that might be higher populated?
The trading post is game wide, not server specific. Everyone will see what you have to sell.
And yes you can switch servers for free still.
You are progressing, you gained 2.5 levels while grinding money for something you need. Are you selling materials you gather on the TP? Are you looking at what low lvl blue items will sell for on the tp? Some lvl 10 equipment alone sells for silver. Are you salvaging the white chain items that vendor for 5-10 copper? Because that’s guaranteed copper ore at 20cp per.
Seems like a very small group of people even playing, and they are all “too pro to be bothered with someone trying to find a way to enjoy the game”.
People don’t like beggars. It’s the same in every mmo. I guarantee the tone would have been different if you asked the best way to earn 10s rather than asking for the 10s.
Do hearts, events and gather materials to sell. You will have 10s before you need it at 11. You really don’t need to be buying gear off the tp that early either.
As an engineer, I’m aways thinking how the medium armor looks too thiefy. Lots of them have knives and stuff hanging all over the place.
Are there really so few events that everyone has to crowd around this?
No but it’s a short loop with like 4 or 5 events and lots of spawns making it very efficient for farming karma and loot (if you can tag fast enough).
There aren’t chili peppers in bulk any more. Thus the post.
And then there is my infraction point for saying gathering is the way to get those items. I’ve been waiting 3 days now for the support to clarify it and explain why that was false information(or retract the point if it isn’t). Neither of those has happened, so I can only assume that there is smth we are all missing….and they’d like to keep it that way? Not quite sure….
Are you honestly suggesting that there is some form of conspiracy to keep the location of vanilla and chili peppers a secret?
I sure hope they updated that sorry excuse for an engineering weapon, can’t keep up with anyone and it’s so full of secondary button mashes you basically have to have fantastic eyesight to hit anything. I vote they revamp that and give us the option to make the potion effects center on the engineer in an AOE bubble that would make things a bit easier.
The grenade kit is okay (tho I wish it would work that well on land) but if you’re not specced for it it doesn’t do much so you end up throwing 34 grenades when usually in RL 2 would do enough damage to kill. (heck 1 would but that’s another post entirely)
even without grenadier, underwater grenades are better than anything else. If you are using the harpoon gun you are doing it very wrong.
Not sure I would call it a raid but areas like UW, FoW, DoA, etc would be a cool addition I think.
If you read the event page it seems like the friday event is a siege of LA by the new baddies. You (and I) will miss any opening cinematics but I bet we will still be able to participate in the event. Just watch the video on youtube later.
I won’t be buying any keys but if we get a cool mini pack or costumes I will get in.
Single recipe is less risky because less variance.
Correct. The 1x recipe will get you closer to the estimated return rate while the 10x recipe will allow for wider swings in luck.
I think it resets on death, logging out and zone changes. Don’t quote me on it though.
Race doesn’t matter. Pick whichever you like the looks of most.
The first time I did this I thought it was really hard and annoying. Then I realized you can dodge with the sack of food. Now it’s easy.
I would really like to see a sketch of what you think a legendary greatsword should be. Anet might not be interested but I’m sure that I’m not the only one who is.
You don’t need a fancy keyboard in order to not click skills. The most important thing is binding the skills to keys you can reach comfortably. Everyone likes different things, I personally use Q E R for 7 8 9, shift Q for heal and 6 for elite. A and D were rebound to strafe since I turn with the mouse (and so should you).
mesmer: I don’t know what you’re talking about with macros. I use the same keys for my mes as everything else. At low levels clones are mostly for distraction and shattering. At higher levels you can trait them for other fun things. Phantasms are the illusions that will do damage for you.
ele: as the guy above said, switching attunements isn’t optional. If you don’t like to dance between them it’s probably not the class for you.
I stopped playing my necro at 10 so I can’t help you there.
Well Nels said you can use the tournament reward points for elite skills for your heroes. I used those points on z keys which bought a good number of the minis I needed. When I did my grind doing JQ was a relatively fast and painless way to unlock the bars needed for 7hps which made the rest of the game much easier. I’m guessing queues will be much longer now though.

Also there is no way a new player is getting 30 points in less than 100 hours. It took me around that and I got a bunch of handouts from people. In the months before launch I saw numerous fresh people grinding 30 points and it took them all at least that long. Doing pvp for hero skills is going to take even longer now.

He said he would demote himself but he doesnt do it. altough it takes just a second to do it
Sounds like he’s not going to. If I were you I would remake the guild and not invite that dude again. You can regain the upgrades but you can’t force that guy out of his position of power.
Just a note: DE is generally used as shorthand for dynamic events, not dungeon explorable or whatever you are doing with it here.
On topic: no I don’t think so.
I truly hope this is how it plays out because if he or a new Trahearne-like character hijacks our story in the expansions, I doubt any reasonable person would buy them.
Lots of people really don’t care about the story. I haven’t actually completed it on any of my characters and will buy expansions even if there is no personal story.
I thought you were referring to the last part of the post, “The item will be soulbound on use so just put it back in the bank and pick it up with your ele.”
You can just create it on the warrior like pchow said. just put all the items needed in your bank, take it out with the warrior, create the item. The item will be soulbound on use so just put it back in the bank and pick it up with your ele.
He can’t do this. You can put soulbound items in the bank, but only the character the items are bound to can take them out.
Soulbound on use
Also OP the binding properties of an item are always clearly listed in the description. If you didn’t get burned here it probably would have been something else since you didn’t read closely enough.
I’m hoping for something similar at christmas time. Maybe a sack of presents.
The best you can do is run a support focused build with lots of healing gear on an ele or guard. This won’t be like playing a paladin in wow and standing in the back spamming 2 all day though. You won’t be able to heal a group yourself in the traditional sense.
I’ll start you off with there’s really no such thing as healer classes.
When I want to bang out a daily asap I usually jump an 80 over to metrica. Tons of variety and events.
In a year or two I probably wouldn’t really care. If they reduce the cost 3 months into the game I would seriously reconsider buying gems in the future.
If this isn’t based on the daily then why do you care? Is that giant slayer achievement really attractive to you?
Salvage cloth in orr and forge silk.
I think it’s good that people are encouraged to leave orr in order to complete the daily. It’s not like you have to go very far to do it.
I believe that when either of two “on crit” sigils fire they both go on internal cooldown.
That’s easy and I actually have a character right in the area. Too bad I’m at work.
ele is pretty much the king of self combos. Engi does have access to some but it’s not a main focus.
I personally prefer the engineer since having to do fancy 12 button combos just to kill a pack of mobs isn’t really my thing.
greatsword and whatever
Warrior, maybe thief if you don’t mind being a bit squishy.
Due to a common action among my friends, I think the achievements “playing with no pants” and “Godzilla trivia master” should be implemented.
I believe they are self-explanatory.
I think the more important question is why in the world do you have so many BLCs?
I’ve always been under the impression that it was based on the current server population, not the number of people with it registered as their home server. This is why you can get in at non-peak times.
The problem is that the top tiers of wvw servers are attracting a 24/7 population so getting on them at any time can be very difficult.
Best advice I can give is to keep trying or get your whole group of friends to hop to a different server.
