OH yea, and champion wurms.. same thing… all range, their ranged attack is slow…sidestep, or even just dodge, never go in melee, use obstrutions to block their attacks and otherwise settle in for a long, but fairly easy kill (the wurms dont even move at all…kinda like that siege devourer)
I just circle strafe them. Their AI is horrible enough that they miss most of their attacks. You can even solo melee the giant in Diessa once you learn to tell when he’s going to do each attack.
Skill points in zones 1-30ish need adjusted too for soloing. Hard content should be something to consider and take a shot at.. Like open world champs. Wolfmaster, for example, isn’t needed for anything. He should eat a level 11 solo. You should have to get help. That said, Skill points like Vilnia in Snowden, why should a skill point be that level of difficulty for a player of zone level, when population and participation are declining in a zones of that level?
I didn’t find that skill point difficult at all. Once you see her attacks, you’ll understand how to beat her. I’ve beaten her solo on 6 classes while doing map completion to level so I know it’s doable.
Very few people level by map completion so of course you’re going to see less people and more events that failed.
I’d like to see skritt riding horses.
I have, every single dredge I have ever been in, not once have the shock waves been reflected.
Are you standing on the wall or are you leaving some distance? The shock wave does have a large hit box.
And to address the second part of your previous post, I was just saying that the attacks can be blocked. I wasn’t arguing the viability of it when there’s so many of them.
Here’s some confirmations from other people that have tested it, including on mesmer with temporal curtain.

The shock waves cannot be reflected, and the majority of the dredge use that, the only reflectable attacks are the dredge stargazers? the ones with the rifles that shoot the bullet, but there arn’t even that many of them compared to the others. I would venture a guess at 70-80% of the dredge are unreflectable, and blocks are useless (assuming aegis and other short blocks/block 1 attacks) when you have 30+ all spamming the same skills that 2-3 hit you.
Also remember that dredge cannot be blinded. do you have any idea how much that screws over a zerker guardian? :‘( :’( :’(
Shock waves can be reflected with wall of reflection. Try it. I’m not referring to the boss which can easily be dodged.
All ranged attacks could be reflected unless I’m forgetting something. Even that shock wave attack can be reflected. Which attacks are you referring to that cannot be reflected or blocked?
If done properly, the first two panels leading to the final cage should not be an issue if you use coordination to minimize how long someone needs to be in that cage. Realistically, they shouldn’t need to be in there for more than a few seconds. For the final cage, it’s easier to kill the left side and have someone kite the rest. Just make sure to grab that veteran that spawns before the person at the console aggros it.
Try it and you’ll see that it’s still doable.
The gem store does rely on any outside source. Also please explain how buying gems with your own gold is using someone else’s money?
Pay close attention. You are about to see some La Nouba caliber mental gymnastics…
Just facts, sorry to disappoint.
Gems are created in the gemstore to buy with gold whenever someone trades gems for gold. They are a finite resource created from outside the system by people with real money. When you use gold to buy gems, you are not buying them from Anet. The only supply of gems in game comes from…..real money. Any and all purchases from the gem store use real money. Either yours or someone else’s.
Please provide a source otherwise your post is entirely speculation/opinion rather than “just the facts”.

Edited my post. Meant to say doesn’t.
You can target him easily two ways:
- From a distance by clicking at the top of the head
- Stacked on the wurm and waiting for it to collapse first
Just hover your cursor around the screen until you get the familiar target icon. You can also call the target so you can quickly re-target it. You do not necessarily need to be in a party to do this.
It is indeed not subjective. It’s a store.
A store that is part of the game.
part
pärt/Submit
noun
1.
a piece or segment of something such as an object, activity, or period of time, which combined with other pieces makes up the whole. But you are free to disagree. Its your opinion. And opinions are subjective.
Incorrect. You consider it part of the game because you can buy things from it to use in game. This definition would also include any and all electronic retailers, brick and mortar stores that sell gemcards or copies of the game itself. Since this is obviously not true………..
So the Black Lion Trading Company (aka gem store) is not part of the game because you can buy things to use in the game just like you can buy the gemcards and the game itself from a brick & mortar store. Therefore by this logic since you can buy the game at a brick and mortar store makes the game not part of the game.
I do think your logic has flown out the window. The BLTC is part of the game and anything in there can be purchased with in-game currency. Or are we going to argue that any vendor that sells things in the game to improve your character is P2W? The gem store is as much part of the game as the vendor in Metrica that sells the “Golem in a box”.
Incorrect. The vendor in Metrica does not rely on any outside source. The gemstore does. Also nothing is purchased with in game currency. Everything is being paid for in cash, if you buy gems with gold you are just using someone else’s money.
The gem store doesn’t rely on any outside source. Also please explain how buying gems with your own gold is using someone else’s money?
EDIT: Meant to say doesn’t

Here’s a pretty good article on pay to win and what it means. Worth a read.
“If there are any unique purchases that positively impacts the game experience and are only available with premium currency (aka real money), then the game is considered Pay to Win.”
Perhaps you should read the entire article instead of just the bolded text. Context… context is everything.
It’s really a pity to read all these posts using some watered down straw man definition of “pay to win” then claiming GW2 is pay to win because it violates their straw man definition.
It’s really a pity that even though GW2 is one of the most blatantly P2W MMO’s on the market that people keep using various straw man arguments to claim it isn’t P2W every time a new P2W item is introduced into the gem store.
Same can be said about those that take the side that it is P2W.
Its no RNG you ether get 2-3x more exotic drops if MF is working (with MF100-200%) if not its broken, law of probability let all get same amount of loot in the long run.
Please read up on probability.
The mechanics shouldn’t be too bad. The recent change didn’t really have that much of an impact in the time it takes. Just about every group that I have been in that tried to do the jp into the cage took longer than if they had done it the legit way. The only exception would be with Mesmer but you can’t guarantee that you’d have one every run.
The bomb event is still the same as before the update and there’s a way to do it that many people either choose not to do or just do not know about. It’s not more efficient than the single thief running bombs but it definitely better than playing attempting to zerg the door with the bombs with the dredge surrounding you.
The dredge car definitely could use some work. I don’t see anything particularly challenging about standing in one place for 10 minutes which auto attacking dredge.
I suggest people use team coordination and at least try the “new” ways for doing the console and bomb events a few times. All I normally see are people complaining about those two while doing it the same way repeatedly and not attempting to find a better way to do it.
Yeah. I probably overestimated how quickly they could get the achievements. I assumed that they still had enough permanent ones to give them that extra push.
Supposedly more fixes are on the way that will make it easier to get kills.
Nice archivments points ! Is there anyone with 21k+ points ?
Yes. Someone had 20,500 or something like that a few days ago so I’m sure they broke the 21k mark.
Edit: Just check and there are 3 people with AP between 20-20.5k. They’ll likely have it within a week.

The fact that the majority of people use exploits to deal with this shard reflects poorly on the design of the shard. When even the most hardcore pve guilds in game decide to exploit the dredge shard because it’s not worth the effort to do it as the developers intended it to be done, I think some changes need to be made to the shard. That is the main point of this thread, too, I believe.
That’s not exactly a good argument. Most hardcore pve guilds also exploit(ed) arah p3/p4 and many more.
I agree. I was about to point just that out. People exploited CoE about a year ago so they could do all paths in a single run. That didnt mean that anything was wrong with the dungeon.
Just use google like I do. Make sure to put gw2 first and you’ll see a bunch of posts on your topic. Google even let’s you search by date too.
Yeah. People keep failing the last chain because they don’t stack. That’s always the issue when I’m there and observing the other platforms or what I hear in map chat.
Yeah because more inflation is a good thing…
This is 2 patches in a row they managed to mess up the introduction to the story update. Last time they made us go fight the marionette before the catchup instance in LA, which was supposed to have happened first in the timeline. This time the patch notes mention a character who hasn’t been updated or moved to where they say she should be. Also, why are we talking about the underwater probe going green as if we’ve definitely seen it when we haven’t been sent there at all? Hey Anet programmers, talk to each other!
No. The marionette came first before that instance. The in game mail referred to the sheriff, not Kiel.
I only see the probe as a potential flaw.
Here’s a refresher. Pay attention to the dialogue with Braham, Taimi, and Logan.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Origins_of_Madness:_A_Moment's_Peace
Also, after the marionette event, there was a sequence of dialogue between the NPC’s.

I haven’t tested this but I’m assuming you can’t use these consumables in the regular WvW maps? I’m about 99% certain the answer would be a no.
I usually just do the 4 original PvP achievements since I know the other four are time consuming. I can usually do the PvE ones in 30 minutes (longer if one is a dungeon), the WvW take 30 minutes of less depending on which ones, and the PvP takes about 30 minutes. For sPvP, I don’t care about rank so I normally go all out on my first match and then look for nearly finished matches to complete the match participation achievement.
You loose 1460 points per year if you skip the 4 new pvp dailies, plus all the permanent achievements which come alongside doing them.
True. With how much of my time I would have to invest in doing those, I decided it wasn’t worth it to me. I still do the other dailies just to keep the AP coming in but I have yet to see any reward that’s worthwhile to me to inspire me to go all out with getting AP. .
Only one PvE achievement has you go into the center of the map and you technically don’t need to fight any players.
I didn’t mention any of the pve achievements or specifically the LS stuff, which I actually didn’t mind and got them done in maybe 30 minutes. I’m talking about general game play, and there is now more PvE than ever in a WvW zone.
Well taking camps, towers, keeps, and the castle is PvE too since you’re fighting NPC’s. The enemy players are just an obstacle. People forget that WvW is not pure PvP but a combination.
Maybe the probe sensed a great amount of magical energy. Didn’t Arah have the same thing and it turned out to be coming from Zhaitan?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic
Maybe the lines converge there and she’s trying to call or wake up a dragon to attack it.

Please provide a link to a source that is current which states color assignment is random.
I can’t vouch for it being purely random… but a quick look at matchups will clearly show that colors are not directly tied to relative rank anymore. In some tiers Blue is the top ranked server, in others it’s Green.
I edited my post as you made yours.
This is pretty much what I explained. I don’t know where the official source from Anet regarding it is located.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/When-does-the-worlds-change-colors/first#post3467650
Please provide a link to a source that is current which states color assignment is random. I do not recall this change ever happening.
All I remember them doing is adding an additional variable into their formula for rankings that adds little volatility. If servers rankings are far enough apart, then they have a low chance to go to another color.

Thanks. I figured a large percentage would be dailies and monthlies. Dailies only take about 90 minutes to do so it’s not like you’re spending a considerable amount of time like some people were suggesting.
It has been sort of tied-in. If you went into the LA living story instance during The Origins of Madness (it might still be there), you could see Rox talking to Rytlock Brimstone about it: Rytlock sent Rox to kill Teq in order to test her and see if she is worthy of joining his Stone warband (Rox lost her previous warband and is now a gladium); Rox helped and brought a chunk of Teq’s tail to prove it. Then Rytlock sends her on one final mission before accepting her, against the Marionette. There is also the dialogue between Braham and Rox where we get that Rox just does not get it that she already is in a warband, with Braham and… well, I guess just him.
It’s a very weak tie-in, but I think that’s all there will be to this. Teq is too far-off to be otherwise related, but who knows?
You have the sequence of events wrong. I bolded your mistake.
the information is correct.
I’m also curious about something regarding your AP. On the same screen as in your screenshot, can you hover the cursor over where it tells you your AP total and tell us what the breakdown is?
the information is correct.
You should go kill some bats.
Should just make the suggestion that players can’t destroy bridges in their land or something similar.
Stability has always been important in WvW well before Skyhammer and EotM were released.
As far as necros having it unfair when dealing with stability, I suggest you look at what other classes have first.

I think the Anet devs should do a live stream of them doing a level 40+ dredge fractal the legit way.
I like this idea. Go make a post in General Discussion and call it “Dev Live Stream Idea”. Start talking about how the devs should live stream doing dredge fractal at scale 49 to show us how they like the new changes. But emphasis the thread is about live stream so they don’t move it to this forum. And we can keep bumping it.
There has already been a thread made about this months ago.
There are no high fractal videos online of dredge but here are videos of where people are struggling.
Bomb Event
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_38rOY6Nl88
Console Event

It’s not the ideal way but the easiest most likely from a programming standpoint.
Colors are not random. My server has been green since the beginning of December.
I think he means random in EOTM only, I would hope that all the green servers would not be put together in EOTM, that would be obviously unbalanced. Colors represent the place you finished the week before in regular WvW for those that are not aware of that fact.
All servers that are green will be on the same team. It’s in the patch notes. The ranking is more involved than simply based on what place your server placed on their tier.

Here’s a tip for the future:
All living story objectives are marked on the map. They can either have the gold star/asterisk or the gold star/asterisk on a scroll.
I’ll enjoy it more once people realize which objectives reward better points while also taking less time to flip.
You only need to spend about 2 hours at most every two weeks for just the story content. You can then complete the meta with an additional amount of time by doing the living story specific daily. If you want all of the achievements then that will take more time but doesn’t contribute to the story.
You don’t even need to fight to get the golem parts. Most of the people don’t even know where to go anyway.
It’s just RNG. I know you don’t think it is but it’s true.
Umm… Only like 5 dredge respawn infinitely on the bomb path. There are also more ways to do it than what’s on the wiki.
For the console room, you do not need stealth or a highly defensive class. Players have done this in full berserkers at 49/50.
The constantly spawning dredge from the car does need to be fixed. At least have a creative mechanic than just fluff to make the fractal longer.
