If you have two legendaries, I don’t think you should be complaining about how much of pain potentially losing a footprint effect is when its so hard to get one legendary let alone two lol.
Not trying to be rude but this thread, although a valid question people want to know about, its just funny. Sort of like rich people complaining that their pool is too cold or their maid is ugly. Be happy to have what you have, don’t get mad because of it!
Having a legendary isn’t enough. If I worked so hard to get a legendary, only to see it doesn’t meet my expectations, I’d be disappointed and there’s nothing wrong or insignificant about that.

I’ve been using it lately and it is actually quite good. Water, air, and especially earth all have good skills. Obsidian flesh and magnetic wave are so good that it is worth taking 20% off earth cooldowns trait. Both fire skills and water chill skill are borderline useless though. Since flame shield is instant though, it is at least better than nothing, and flame wall allows for some (difficult) might stacking. Gale is also on an obscene cooldown (but is otherwise an excellent skill).
It does desperately need a mobility skill, preferably in water or fire to replace the crappy skills.
No it doesn’t. Defense and control is focus’s niche. Damage and mobility is dagger’s. Focus should be buffed/changed to better reflect this. Such as fire skills being changed to something else a lot more useful. Other than that, cd’s across the board shouls be reduced.

Mine crits for about 4k, got a rare 7k on a thief that was running away from me.

It’s completely possible that he could have hit 7k with full zerker gear with a crit with full ascended gear with Fury, 25 stacks of might, the right traits while standing right next to the guy while teleporting while the enemy thief has 25 stacks of vulnerability and is a level 1 upleveled thief in WvW with no gear on.

What I feel is that because of focus, ele’s are allowed to go all out, if only for a few seconds. That means I could go for burst in WvW with focus and allow the focus to cover my kitten when things go wrong. Really, I can’t reset fights as well, but I’m sure as hell to put heavy pressure on the opponent to give me some breathing room.
As for potato’s build, dunno why he took focus in PvE. No need for the defensive/cc when smart playing with s/d or d/d will kill it faster and with just as little risk. Focus is more of a PvP weapon.

Wait a minute? I should be punished when I use my Savage Leap to gap away from my target so I can safely switch to my rifle? Should I be penalized for playing differently because you aren’t able to immobilise me or daze me during my leap animation?
I used to be able to cripple, gap away and switch back to my rifle. Now, with the changes that came on sword/mh I give away my cripple, wich is tied to Savage Leap, if I want to gap away and I can’t rely on Hamstring sinds it has a ridiculous short duration cripple. So my only option left is Aimed Shot and after that, unless I get back in melee range I have nothing left to kite you…
Also, if RoL got nerfed it is for the simple reason you could get away unhindered with a single click and be out of range of any attacks. It was basicaly a free cheating death card every 20sec… If you freeze or cripple a greatsword Warrior he looses all his extra mobility, wich wasn’t the case of the elementalist. Exception is the warrior longsword, but it hasonly a 600 leap unaffected by swiftness compared to a 1200 leap wich was affected by swiftness.
What they should have done with RoL is easy, reduce its cooldown and its range to every other 600 units Leaps This way it would have been more balanced and elementalist would have need at least 2 RoL to get out of range from ranged foes. And people wouldn’t have complained and the elementalist would have got an option to gab away while staying in range for their scepter attacks.
It’s people like you who got RtL (it’s RtL, for Ride the Lightning, not RoL) nerfed.

I was watching this subject like a hawk in hopes of the necromancer receiving some sort of cleave weapon. As far as when we will see this kind of thing.. I am guessing it will be much later in the year after they implement the system for obtaining new skills and traits. So much of what they have talked about is already on it’s way and that’s exciting!
Necromancer with ghostly bullets would be amazing btw >.<

It is going to prevent me from enjoying my guardian in my own way; trust me.
Duuude. Those two actually sound awesome. Man, a thief with a hammer getting the jump on you?? kitten, game over man, game over. A staff engineer sounds like a guy who could spawn some stuff to control a point. Man, more turrets or robots would be awesome.
Man! If anything, plenty of people are still going to use the classic guardians. Just that there’ll be the oddball or two running about.

Keep in mind that because of dungeons, it’s quite easy to get decked out in exotics. Something to use upon 80 so nobody is relying on greens. Ascended gears are for people who want the best stats and something to work towards.

It would ruin the lore whether I use them or not.
It’s like asking for the commando class to come in play and then telling people not to play it if they don’t like it.
Well, I guess that’s a good analogy. But only if guns are next to impossible for guardians. Who’s to say? Where does it say in lore that guardians can’t pull a trigger?
Is it that guns clash with YOUR idea of what guardians should look like? That guardians should be big hulking metal titans wielding large weapons and bearing sturdy shields to protect himself and allies from attacks?
Well, nothing’s wrong with that. That’s actually pretty cool. But there’s people (like me) who’d like to switch it up and see some guns on a guardian. And me using rifles on guardians wouldn’t stop you from enjoying your guardian in your own way.

I don’t suggest laptops for gaming as a main gaming pc because the high temperatures from continuously gaming affects the life of parts inside laptop , but if the situations need to buy a laptop the price of the above laptop is very good and it will play for sure the game smoothly ….. today

Ah yeah, as I am a user of laptops since I was 12, I’m well aware of the problems and limitations when it comes to pc gaming. I’m just too used to laptops that I won’t ever feel right until I’m kicking some kitten in WvW with a touchpad and elementalist.
And another reason is I expect to move a bit in the next year.

Hey, you should check out the MSI GE60. I just bought it two weeks ago and love it I play guild wars high settings at 1080p resolution mind you shaders and shadows on medium. stays steady 60 fps in PvE and 20-30 fps in WvW. It is just under 200 over your 1k budget but honestly worth the tid bit extra investment, i’ll post a link of where I bought it it’ll have all the info you need and the price I paid.
Note it’s a Canadian store local to my area, not sure if America has better deals or not but thought this may help. Its worth the extra nudge over your 1k budget, I love this computer, also has a steelseries blue backlit keyboard very nice!
Edit: Forgot to mention no cooling issues at all, even has a turbo cool button, I experience no throttle issues at all and ambient temperature in my house has been a steady 20-30C since I got it.
Oh sweet, that’s actually a nice laptop! I already picked a lenovo y500, but that’s a solid alternative, mainly for cooling. Always hated the heat issues. Thanks a ton, I’ll keep it in mind just in case. (:

I actually think the female running animation is a bit weird… Maybe thats just me being used to sylvari :/.
I’m a straight male and that was literally the last thing on my mind. Huh.
Anyway, I was really thinking about how females held their weapons and how they handled them. It just bothers me that the males hold their weapons in impractical ways, like swords: they’re holding a sword in either hand and run like they’re jogging. Gonna stick an eye out…
Also, greatswords. They handle then like baseball bats. That’s just plain wrong. Females are doing it wrong too, but… it looks cooler.
And as a male dd elementalist, I envy the female animations. Definitely looks like dancing through the attunements.

But yeah, I got nothing against melee weapons or archery. It’s just that in this game, where magic and technology coexist (and sometimes combine), I’d like to have the option to use guns on different professions than the only four we have now.
Could we get a response on whether it’s in the works to give professions access to more current weapons?

Really, I’m fine with running GW2 on low settings but running it at medium or higher is definitely a plus. All I require is at least 40 fps.
I’m noobish when it comes to computers but I’m told that i5 is pretty good. I’d like something with 1920×1020 res, just anything that isn’t 1366×798 crap.

I am one of the people who want rifles on engies to be focused on long range combat. It’d be an awesome match for his kits, especially tool and bombs, to have a mixed gameplay of long and melee range. Hell, swap rifles with warriors and engies, modify them a bit. Warriors with all that armor should be on the front lines. Engies strike me as the “tactical” profession, as in methodically picking off targets while having contingency plans (kits and turrets), so it should be complete with a long range weapon aside grenades, as well as tool kits and gadgets to back him up when things get hot.

LOL! If only :/, but yeah, that stealth is indeed pretty lame and took me a water fractal to discover.
But how about we all coexist and let everyone choose their weapon? I want GS because obviously: eye candy. It can be made interesting by adding interesting skills. Dagger does not fit the class yet is popular because sadly it has been one of the few viable weapons for eles it has some interesting skills, but Im not interested in being melee, and rifles, gonna be honest here, I feel do not fit a fantasy game all that much, including engineers, but Anet introduced them for a more “modern” Tyria world and some people do like it so w/e. The day we have a staff as good or better than Sunrise is the day I will stop this, until then, I want Sunrise AND Bifrost!

Honest, probably stupid question. How well do sword rangers do? Generally, what is the damage like? Can it burst people down quickly or not? Does it require being tanky? I’m pretty interesed in flipping in the air like some crazed ninja but I guess I can take up other weapons on the side. I’m probably asking for too much but I’d like to know if it’s mobile enough as well.
What weapon(s) go along with it? Traits? Utilities? Gears? Pets?
bonus question: what do you think are good sword skins? (aside legendary)
