beautiful work bud. Watching video a second time ill have to look at when and where you used the Gyro because I couldnt really see it, but awesome work. Hammer 4 and 5 seem extremely good in pvp like I figured. Hammer 3 seems absolutely wonky, I felt weird using it, but it seems like despite the visual it works well

actually this is a great idea. I only started doing wvw back in the day because a commander was screaming his head off that we needed more people to help defend, and ive been doing wvw ever since.

There should be mail/notifications sent about our progress in wvw, how many tags are on each borderland/EB and what rewards we can work towards getting. People LIKE rewards, especially PVE players. If we saw loot we could possibly get (spirit shards, 2x rares) something like that, for our next wvw rank up, a lot more people would hop over there. Even if its for 10-20 minutes, thats a HUGE impact on wvw.

if a dev actually responds to this I will make a complete list of things that could hugely boost wvw. Im happy you made a post about this because ive been thinking about it for awhile

because it didnt give condition builds. We got condi bursts of burning and thats it. Base warrior can barely out put any condi damage, so we can only do decent to good burning every time we go in berserk mode. its not like we have good condi, and then it turns amaazing. Yes, the burning can absolutely burst someone down because of how strong burning is, but its not as viable or potent as a guardian.

Plus our offhand torch doesnt even give that much burning. We still have the Mace problem, where its a power weapon thats primal burst does condi.

Sword is both too weak at condi and at power. AA is the only part of it that does any condi besides its (normally) garbage F1.

The Longbow is actually worse in berserk mode.

Basically, as Robert Gee said, Berserker was built for condi, but was changed to both support condi and power. Sometime during that transition a rough patch was hit, because the condi isnt that strong and the traits barely support power. The few good traits seem mandatory, and the GM traits are pretty awful.

When you play berserker it seems like its supposed to function like Sinister Engi, except Sinister engi was 100% more damage and from range

a lot of people liked scarlett. what we didnt like about her was how she was presented. She knew everything, could do anything, came out of nowhere, had the worlds greatest army… yea. Its just how it happened. She was always happy and evil, never had a furious evil side to her. I liked her, but she could of been 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x better

It may not be for you. I find Thief extremely boring because of its weapon sets. I like the mobility, but thats about it. I would suggest trying other professions. However, it also depends on the game mode. for PVE, I dont like Thief at all but it is good, for WVW Thief is a blast and its fun in pvp as well.

This is an excellent ability and I’d like to see it buffed. Right now I can only teleport 1200 range with it towards a target far away. It lets me exit combat in WvW when I’m in trouble as long as there are targetable objects in the distance. It’s a good start but with further tweaking it can be fantastic. I’m getting PMs from people telling me to stop using teleport cheats so I think they should make the animation a bit more obvious for it so people know what’s happening.

It has no cool down and that’s good but it would be better if it cost less energy as I can really only do it instantly around 3 times or so.

For instance, thieves can teleport 2400 distance with shadow step (1200 going and then 1200 returning). I’d like to see Phase Transversal buffed to atleast 1500 range and maybe even add a trait to get it up to 2400.

What do you guys think? I’m going to main Revnant as my roaming class because I think when played well you’ll never die.

so you think a class thats well played will never die. Thats literally the definition of OP. sigh… Rev is getting a bad name already

Once Rev got weapon swap, and these elites came out, the game changed. I see NO reason not to have weapon swap, as good as hammer is, now we HAVE to take a kit for range, and thats not right. I DONT MIND it, but not right

This is in regards to PVE of course. I think in order to take Berserker, were gonna have to let go of Tactics. With Herald giving AOE might, and all these classes stacking might now like its nobodies business (Tempest, Scrapper, Reaper, Chrono) maybe we dont need to be Might bots anymore. Maybe… maybe its just better to go full dps from now on.

just because we get WS doesnt mean we need a nerf. Its not like we have a ton of weapons guys, getting rifle/hammer would just be like running another kit. It would just let us use, possibly, one less kit and open up A LOT more builds. thats all.

like I said during BWE2. UA isnt op at all, the problem is that UA requires 2 dodges to get away from, and then you have to deal with the rev AA right after which hits like prime tyson. Not saying any of this is OP, but thats the problem. It usnt UA damage, its the long evade and advantage it gives.

Not sure if any Tekken players are out there, but what we call it is “frame traps”. where your attack, blocked(dodges) still puts you at an advantage for the next strike

doesnt matter. seriously, even of reaper isnt the highest damage spec, it will live longer than guardians revs and wars, while maintaining really good damage. number crunchers will appear, but, reaper is awesome.

The thing is… I’ve crushed so many reapers during beta event that im a little unsure of their capabilities.

I’ll just have to try it for myself.

I pounded out some reapers on my necro as well, but cele signet reapers were crushing people. I didnt have much problem with them, prob because I play necro so much, but heralds chronos and scrappers, 3 professions people say are so great, were getting stomped by reapers.

Not a single Guardian or Dragon Hunter in the world first raid kill.

I tolled you this would happen, with the constant nerfs to Guardians, the horrible Dragon Hunter, the constant power creep every other profession has received, and the new powerful elite specs others have received, there is no reason to bring us anymore to PVE content.

What is the role of the Dragon Hunter?

It offers less DPS, less group support, less healing, less everything! Our core traits, skills and virtues are far superior in every way! The only reason to go DH is if you want to roleplay or do open world zerg content.

mesmer is one of the easiest classes to play imo. its only hard when you first pick it up because all the skills and attacks cause clones and seem wacky, but once you break it down its simple. Engi is the hardest, followed by ele. Thief and Ranger are up there, if were talking about HIGH lvl pvp. if not, id still put thief up there but not Ranger

I don’t see how being able to use my rifle with hammer waters the class down. Baseline engi, I don’t want or need weapon swap. The class was designed with medium range in mind from the jump. However scrapper is a whole new ball game. It’s the first time we are designed for melee, and I just think the option to swap to rifle would be interesting for build diversity. 3 of the rifle skills are melee anyway. If I could take rifle I’d use one less kit and one more gyro or elixer. I dunno, I just think the days of one weapon should be left in our 3 year past. Rev got weapon swap, think it’s time we did also

You’re such a baby. New way to play a class, go to the dragonhunter forum with that garbage. Reaper brings absolutely nothing new to the necro, it’s just awesome. Thieves had entire traitline butchered just to make daredevil work. You cry so much it’s pathetic.

How is it a new way to play the class? I have been playing bunker auramancer since launch … this is not new gameplay at all. Reaper brings melee combat to the necromancer which is most certainly new. Everything about the necromancer was ranged combat other than dagger/dagger which was only used to get back into deathshroud to continue the ranged combat gameplay. I think you would be happy with a pet rock as long as ANET made it.

Necro has been forced to use dagger/x especially dagger warhorn forever. lifeblast does more damage from melee range. axe has had 600 range for 3 years. necro has 1 1200 ranged weapon you cant even connect with the auto attack, its just for cc. stop posting. just stop, seriously.

Wow, the levels of your dishonesty … 600 is ranged, so is 900 and 1200. Melee is not ranged which I believe is defined as under 300 (more like 220ish). Reaper is a Melee which is a very different gameplay than wells (ranged), axe (ranged), offhand dagger (ranged), staff (ranged), deathshroud (ranged), ect. The only time Dagger main-hand was used was to build LF as fast as possible to get into deathshroud in order to kite (which means to maintain range from a target). You need to stop posting to learn the definitions of words, seriously.

youre making it painfully clear you have never, ever played Necro before. You may have seen one once or twice on EOTM but thats it. go over to the necro forum right now and tell everyone how youre happy Necro is finally a melee class, because its been ranged for 3 years. I cant wait to see it.

If you think stacking 20+ might freely with only a single adept trait (Reaper’s Might) isn’t over tuned then I can’t help you

Defense is not a problem I’ve been having with Reaper

scrapper and herald are both sitting on 9-15 stacks of might before they even get into combat. Tempest can hit 12-25 fairly fast as well

the first hit being a stab looks… so awkward. its not the biggest deal in the world, but its just weird for any attack to start off with a stab, it just looks strange and out of place imo.

Addressing the Shiro/Glint power spec.

Rev against conditions:

Perfectly fine. The lack of condition removal makes it challenging to avoid exposition to any condi. Your only backup is glint’s heal. The evades and the invulnerabilities can help too.

Rev against power:
Op.
Too many evades. Too many invulnerabilities. Too much damage at low risk. You can faceroll anyone. Just use unrelenting assault, block with your sword, evade and block with your staff, apply weakness with glint and turn all incoming damage into hp and you’ve got yourself a full rotation that can’t be countered. Oh yeah, and you get protection, fury and perma swiftness with that… a little bonus from the house… and stability on dodge…. oh yeah and I forgot that you can also stun break on both legends if you don’t feel like dodging.

Mobility in WvW is too high. Shiro can make you leap 2,400 units at a low cost.

Fix this. Right now, everybody is justifying revenant’s strenght by “it’s weak to conditions so it is a good trade off”. No, it is not. If you can beat all power specs, nothing is a good tradeoff.

im not saying youre wrong, but I saw a lot of reapers beating revs this weekend. As I type this I realize many of those reapers were cele signet with dhuumfire.

I never wanted weapon swap on engi before, never needed it and still dont, but playing scrapper this weekend… I felt like being able to switch to rifle would of just been amazing. Again, I know we dont need it, but I feel like it fits for scrapper

salty as can be. ive been a super white knight for berserker, but until it does more dps than herald, I simply cannot justify using it.

its not all about dps, but berserker is a dps traitline and im annoyed it doesnt add more damage than traitlines that offer more

Well they are still mesmers, just like reapers are still necromancers and so on and so on. Its the same with the rev. You have to pick up a certain trait line to pick up herald so it doesnt matter that it was created while the class was being developed. If the majority of the builds revolve around one minor trait then its poor design.

which is why warrior is poorly desgined, every build takes fast hands

I think its a little different for Rev, as the elite was made while the profession was being made.

5 Second Weapon Swap - Discussion

Let’s take a look at the mesmer. Before the big patch every mesmer had to run Illusionary Persona if they ran a shatter build. The trait was so mandatory that it limited build diversity so they made it baseline.

Now you can actually make a shatter build without Illusions trait line, which opens so many build variations for the mesmer. The question is now: why don’t we apply the same logic to other professions? (Like warrior)

iAvenger must attack on distance, not melee, ranged attack its faster starts, better then launches the projectile with damage AoE. A melee is a nerf, dies very quickly, and the beginning of attack is very slow (as far as, iAvenger what is running, and then strike on enemy), the enemy see it and dodges very fast (on pvp is useless).

iAvenger attacking on distance is more accurate. Ranged attack launching a projectile, then do AoE damage with the sound effect of attack (add the sound effect attack, on BWA3 not have this sound, and if the previous BWA2 yes had)

Melee is the most ridiculous, increase life the iAvenger health will not solve its survival, it going to be similar to iDefensor? Increase life as the iDefensor? No please. Put to distance to shoot a projectile, then hitting AoE, and the problem is solved.

I Do not understand how they support the melee iAvenger, i dont notice anything in combat, it goes unnoticed. It seems to be a phantasmal only to shatter, because what iAvenger takes to close with the enemy and then attack… is very slow runner

In the BWA 2 it was faster and more accurate attacking, nothing more invoke, attacking the enemy with the sound effect of attack, and it was what characterized him. The change was arose by bouncing projectile, because many of you did not like.

The Solution Put the iAvenger as was attacking BWA 2. Attacking on distance, and doing AoE damage when it hits, and do not forget to add sound effect when attacking

The wells alltogether are to strong for what they do. They have way too much damage for the additional effects they provide. Either reduce the damage by a lot or reduce the effects they give. The untraited mesmer wells are way better then traited necromancer wells, that feels horribly unbalanced.

I dont think mesmer wells are too powerful at all, but necro wells have needed a buff forever. getting protection from them isnt enough, I agree

im sorry ascended gear drops in many different places. its been out for years. If you dont have a set of ascended gear you have less than 500 hours of play time and arent ready for raids anyway. if you have more than 500 hours and dont have 1-5 sets of ascended armor stop sitting in lions arch mulling around map chat. I have a f2p in my guild thats already working on ascended gear and he just hit level 80.

Haha 500 hours needed for GW2s easy PvE content.

the average person playing since launch has between 3000-6000 hours. 500 hours would mean youve played roughly 6 months to a year. haha?
