im sorry ascended gear drops in many different places. its been out for years. If you dont have a set of ascended gear you have less than 500 hours of play time and arent ready for raids anyway. if you have more than 500 hours and dont have 1-5 sets of ascended armor stop sitting in lions arch mulling around map chat. I have a f2p in my guild thats already working on ascended gear and he just hit level 80.
it will be one of the most popular classes, if not the most popular. People arent happy with Berserker or dragonhunter, and a new heavy class is out now that just happens to have a great elite

How is it a new way to play the class? I have been playing bunker auramancer since launch … this is not new gameplay at all. Reaper brings melee combat to the necromancer which is most certainly new. Everything about the necromancer was ranged combat other than dagger/dagger which was only used to get back into deathshroud to continue the ranged combat gameplay. I think you would be happy with a pet rock as long as ANET made it.
since when was the necromancer EVER ranged?? Necro has been forced to use dagger/x especially dagger warhorn forever. lifeblast does more damage from melee range. axe has had 600 range for 3 years. necro has 1 1200 ranged weapon you cant even connect with the auto attack, its just for cc. stop posting. just stop, seriously.

After hours of testing, I have to take back some things I said a few weeks ago. I told people not to compare Reaper with Berserker, because one is for sustained damage and the other is for bursting. After playing Reaper and Berserker back and forth, this just isnt true. Reaper bursts harder, lasts longer, gives more active defense and is on a shorter cooldown. There was a recommendation for Berserk mode to not have a CD and I thought that was ridiculous, but now im on board with that. The CD just makes adrenaline an annoying feature and tedious rather than something I look forward too. When I have full Adrenaline and cant use it because im waiting for berserker stance, or I use it and then wait for more adrenaline, im losing dps, and im losing any reason to have it in the first place. I had some success for sure, but for both pve and pvp its nothing worth taking. Berserk mode is fine for the most part, I like it (despite the fact it looks like your fell in a red slurpee) but comparing it to Reaper I just cannot justify using it. No GM trait for power builds, no synergy with other traitlines. I somewhat understand why they havent made fast hands baseline in the past, but with berserker I dont get to swap between my weapons enough to take advantage of the mode, so now without fast hands I feel like berserker mode just makes me more frustrated than anything else.
Chrono, Reaper, Scrapper and Herald all felt like they fit their spec perfectly. the patch that changed all the traits a few months ago gave mesmer so many QoL buffs, like shatters shattering on you, that it really shines now in the chrono and it feels good. With Warrior I feel so tied so certain traits that im starting to think im really going to skip berserker altogether. Again, its not that I dislike it because I really do think its awesome, its just not a viable replacement for anything. If I cant be in berserker mode more than not, then im losing a lot of damage. im already losing PS/EA/Signet Mastery/Fast hands by taking berserker, dont take my damage away too.
Make power viable, make berserker better for power builds, make torch better for power builds (if possible).
low dps and not a lot of group support. this will somewhat change when HoT comes out (the dps part atleast). However, a lot of the new elites seem to self sustain might and boons, so it will be interesting how everything plays out
I think people asking for Mesmer nerfs should look at what the other elite specs are doing.
Berserker Kill Shot?
Its bugged and hitting twice…. its not a viable spec outside of sniping light armor classes in WvW lol… pretty much trash in PvP and rifle is a joke in PvE…
Chronomancer is the one elite spec that is strong in all facets of the game – its extremely good and the one spec that has little to no negative feedback other than its too strong….
Even the top PvP players are in agreement that chrono is EASILY the strongest elite spec released….
Except for Herald who makes Burst Mesmers and Theives look like they hit like wet fish and has excellent sustain and defenses as well.
berserker right now isnt that good, and as someone else said, our best attack is bugged and hitting twice… so yea.
Herald cannot outburst a Chrono, or out sustain it for that matter
nah it needs a solid 15-20% damage buff. if rev sword can get it, why not a 2 HANDED HAMMER
I thought I like it at the first 5 hours of pvp. but then again the longer I play with high ranked players the more I realize how easy it is to get killed and that all my offensive are nothing. Druid the healer is garbage where only possibility of being wanted is minimal and players who rolled for DPS never really want to play as a support. there are skills that looks fun but after hours of playing, you will realize that its all just a joke. Berserkers are OP and Herald comes next, then Scrapper, Reaper, Tempest, Dragon hunter, Dare devil and then Ranger. we are once again worthless. best build can be done with Druid as dps is condi and build up 25 bleeds. but if they have cleanse which is 90% of the time then you will end up running around like a clown not being able to do anything and your Astral form is the biggest garbage in pvp history. those who are saying healing full support in pvp are good? lol those are nubs who have no idea that they only needed to be cc’ed twice and players will be killing them in an instant specially Herald that can drop em but not as fast as Berserkers. and that is because Astral form does not have stability and this is intended to never make us op.
Don’t know if I can take this post seriously because berserker is extremely meh and you didn’t pit chronomancer on there which is probably the best spec in pvp right now

this game doesnt have a population problem and it wont. Theres nothing wrong with hard mobs, as they should be. Theres always guilds/parties/random lfg/people in the zone that are down to bring the ruckus with you. This is way too easy

Great synergy between Headbutt -> Outrage with Rousing Resiliance traited.
Full adren instantly and 1k Toughness with 12sec or 2sec downtime depending on foes met.
Although, Headbutt could do with a minor range increase, maybe like 250 instead of 180.I feel the Hammer Rageburst is lacking in damage and secondary power, either increase the Immob to 2secs or add cripple for 3-5sec after the Immob since the aftercast, atleast to my experience makes the 1sec Immob virtually useless.
Or change it to a AoE pull with the effects going in the opposite direction (all impact crater like) and only target 3.I don’t know if this has been suggested before, but why not give Warriors a unique condition: Deep Wound, from Gw1. cut 10% max hp (not 20% as in Gw1) away from target as long as they are under the condition. Non stackable ofc.
And please make Fast Hands baseline for Warriors.
GM trait Furious, why does it grant bonus condi dmg, I know that the devs love condi dmg, but a more fitting for the warrior, since we are more of direct dmg type of class would be pure dmg, maybe change it to 10power instead of condi dmg.
yea until theres a GM trait for more power, berserker will just be cool, but viable for power builds

im seeing a lot of people loving it, especially the staff. its 6 30am for me and only classes I didnt try were DD and druid. I hopped on druid for 30 seconds just to see the animations and such and that was it. im hearing staff is great and such but I dunno… what pve builds are you guys using and such?
I feel the scrapper is a fail on so many levels, The new ranger pets have more use and utility then all the gyros. And whats with that lame function gyro that have no use.

Does berserker just repeat the same thing base warrior can do, only worse? Maybe the numbers are a bit off, or there is a missing piece to the puzzle, but berserker can really change you play-style and has some powerful inter-line synergies (Cleansing Ire + Berserker mode = condi cleanse machine). Plus, with the clear burning theme, Berserker is a great trait-line for any condi warrior.
Tempest is just like a bad version of water and arcana, and no aspect of it really works well.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s not about which is better or not, it’s just that it adds nothing new to the table. A promise made a thousand times. I feel like I’m being forced into kitten I do NOT want to play without any alternatives. Every week increases the feeling that we are being punished for their incompetence to balance professions.
actually no, berserker adds nothing to the table. If you take it, you lose out on the ability to take any kind of punishment. Berserker is strictly for dps and it barely boosts dps, just for condi. Our condi traitline is in Arms, so now if we take Arms AND berserker, we lose out on support or defense, or both. Its a mess because Warrior traits are spread out and berserker sadly has little synergy. Berserker, in itself, is good, but to use it you lose dps AND any ability to live. Yes, it can burst people down with condis, but as of right now thats all it can do. With axe remaining power, and GS now a power weapon, you lose both of those in a condi or hybrid build for the most part and berserker doesnt support power builds well yet.
Also, look how many berserkers you see running around this weekend, its very few because warriors are moving onto necro for now

My opinion on the DH:
The longbow is okish
The 5. attack is bad, you can easily dodge the last big impact, just know the mechanic, count 1,2, dodge.the traps are – sorry – just rubbish.
i played against a mate in pvp. he was a minion master necro, i could never kill him, then we tested the whole stuff.
all minions and himself cluttered together and i hit all traps at once.
long story short – > i died the minions attacked me and i was down and got killed by them.
the mechanic that you got a longbow and traps seems that the guard should be a ranger, but how can you hold your enemy on range? its nearly not possible.
then traps are not used with ground target, that means i have to go to the enemy and use the trap, which can be easily evaded.
in conclusion:1. let us get the 25% movement speed. if i have it right in mind the guard and mesmer are the only class which don’t have this utility.
2. the sound is ok’ish but sounds a bit like a lightsaber or similar.
3. make traps ground based, or just let us get something different. i got no use, espically of the new heal.
4. the fifth skill from the bow needs a bit of rework. if you know the mechanic you can easily evade the big impact by counting.besides that i don’t see any reason for using the dh.
the class of the guardian doesn’t get any benefit. the class is called GUARDian but just the new virtues help me, but the rest is a big misunderstanding, in my eyes.

Alacrity becomes 33% recharge and durations nerfed slightly.
Increased recharges on shield because….reasons.
Target limit added to tides of time.
ICD on DE for lulz
ICD on chronophantasma and illusionary reversion.
Slow access slashed across the board.
Wells reduced in power because….reasons.
Danger time reduced to 15% crit chance….maybe 5% if too strong.
Time marches on, remove one of the components, either passive speed buff or control condition duration decrease.
That a nice enough list for you?

Tempest is bad and the worst elite specialization because it:
Tl/dr Tempest lacks purpose, lacks synergy, lacks meaningful effects and, most important of all, adds nothing new. It is just bad in all aspects and will be bad at release and in the future.It feels bad to play it, and feels even worse to know you paid to be able play it.
I really wanted to disagree but can’t. I agree with every point.
Now it’s going beyond receiving the short end of the stick.

after spending time on chrono scrapper and reaper, ive come back to berserker and im a bit … well, im not sure how I feel. I think the Berserker is in a much better place than it was last bwe, lets get that out of the way. However, I feel the only reason berserker exists is for an upgrade to dps, you wont take it for anything else. I dont feel stronger taking this traitline. I feel STRONGER in berserker mode, which is awesome, but when im not in berserk mode which is more than 50% of the time, I am without a doubt weaker than if I would of taken something else, and this just isnt cool. Now I cant fully test Berserker how it stands, because its def better for condi, and I dont have sinister gear and a few other things id like.
However as for power, its just not working out. Axe and GS feel amazing as a berserker, but theres no traits to support them. Berserker needs more power/dps in its traits for power builds. the GM traits, 2 are condi and one is stability, and thats just not cool. In Verdant Brink there is close to no one playing Berserker, everyone that tested it for the most part said its “ok” or worse, no one loves it. What bothers me about it is how quick people gave up on this spec, to the point that warrior players are barely giving any feedback on berserker and instead are all playing other specs.
Bottom line is, Berserker is a good idea, but as of right now it feels like a weaker Reaper. Reaper feels more survivable and powerful. Herald is doing more dps than my berserker, and its doing nothing but auto attack. im stacking up to 3 bars of adrenaline, going berserker, and blasting through as many bursts as I can, and a revanent presses 1 and is doing more damage than me. Its not cool… at all.
We just need 1, or two more dps oriented traits and a few utility fixes and we’ll be in a great spot. Until then, expect see Scrapper/Reaper/Chrono/Herald in every party

Darn, I wasn’t sure if I was the only one noticing this.
I actually thought it was due to the enemy’s pet or friendly minion nearby proccing the explosion before the pierce.
I actually think its hitting, and then the explosion is acting as a 2nd hit
this is just a simple praise thread. I stopped playing mes early this year after 2 years of it being my main because I was jus so tired of how it worked in PVE. (pvp ive always been necro main, mes 2nd).
Now all the sudden, ive really put a lot of time into chrono each BWE looking for reasons to not like it, nitpicking as much as I could and… I just think its so good. I cant find a single thing about it that I dislike. bravo mr gee and community
I feel like chronomancer is unbelievably powerful in all game modes. even in pve, It seems like my dps isnt that high yet everything around me melts.
I like it though, I stopped playing mes a few months back and now its interesting again
tried it, builds works 10x better than what I Was using ty. Also elixer B as a scrapper just works wonders

How are you guys sticking to anyone in pvp? I can prepare a thanksgiving meal in between the second and third sword swings, and thats the one that applies our most reliable slow as this spec?
GS in pvp is only good against downed enemies literally. It works wonders in wvw though.

Overall after a few hours of testing: It’s getting much better, but it’s still not quite there yet.
The might stacking and weakness application are the best things out of it. I really like it. To truly enjoy tempest I find you need to trait Fire-Air-Tempest, and if you use the new healing skill you will be really low on damaging condi cleanse. You simply can’t fight a burn guard with tempest.
I don’t really see why anyone would use warhorn beside for Heat sync. The air skills are terrible to use, they feel slow. So does the water skills, fire 5 and earth 5.
Fire shouts is good but not the other ones, basically not all auras are equal and everyone will just take fire because it can be used while overloading since it has no cast time. It also has the potential to give you double the might since its a fire aura.
Traits are getting good there is a few ones that are unsatisfying but int general its a big step forward.
With a few important improvement I may well play tempest after all.
The most important aspects to improve for me would be to:
1- Improve the warhorn skills, make them more dynamic
2- reduce the waiting time before overloading by 1 second (or add it to a trait)
3- reduce the penalty for overloading by 3 seconds
4- remove the penalty for overloading if the overload fails
5- Improve the viability of frost aura, perhaps make it a 20% damage reduction instead of 10%A Fresh-Air equivalent for one of the other attunements should be considered in my opinion since the overloaded attunements take so long to be used again.
Fresh-Fire: Recharges your fire attunement if all attunements are on recharge.
I just want everyone to know, that if THIS GUY says the tempest is getting better, its getting MUCH better. trust me.

From the small amounts I’ve played so far, the only reason to take Berserker right now is for a condi Sword/Torch, Longbow build (which admittedly is AMAZING right now due to the strength of burns in the current state of the game).
However, most mainstream Power builds are probably not going to make use of Berserker. It destroys too much synergy. Remove Arms? No more Signet Mastery. Remove Strength? No more 20% damage buff or Greatsword. Remove Discipline? No more Fast Hands and 25% melee movement speed/immob breakers. Rage utilities are still underwhelming for Power builds, though loving them for Condi.
I realise the aim of this WAS to make Condi Warrior viable – and it has done that amazingly. I’m loving the amount of condi damage I can dish out while still being fairly sustainable. It just feels like an outright nerf for other specs though, and that’s why people are not that excited for it, especially considering that the majority of players in all Professions are Power builds.
EDIT: One suggestion I’d make is to revamp Bloody Roar. King of Fires already functions as a condi damage trait in this tier, so I’d like to see King of Fires become a Power based trait instead. A taunt also feels very out of place, thematically. Who attacks an intimidating avatar of rage? This should really be a Fear instead because when you see a dude go berserk, you run. Make the 1.5s Taunt a 1.5s Fear and make the Bleed into an explosion that deals direct, power based damage, and it’d be worth picking up.
I havent tried condi yet, althought last BWE all I used was condi. this time Im starting off power (this is for PVE) and I dropped Arms for Berserker, which i didnt want to do I might add, but I feel its a big dps increase. GS and Axe in berserker are devastating. Yes, axe is technically weaker than its original counterpart, but due to the AOE it has, im loving it. Attack speed in zerker seems more noticeable now also
