D/D ele’s are beatable imo.

As far as thieves. They are literally designed to be excellent at small engagements and dueling. WHY WOULD YOU TRY TO SOLO ONE?!

I play a Sword/Shield and Hammer Warrior. The only way I can beat a thief is if I earthshaker them and then keep them permastunned and immobilized until they are dead.

Funny, though, those classes you mentioned have ridiculously higher contribution ability in large scale fighting which is the hallmark of WvW and is, coincidentally, where thieves are far less effective. You wanted “balance”, well there it is.

If people haven’t also realized. Elementalists are also the ultimate defenders and roamers in WvW. All you need is a bunch of eles and you are gaurenteed to successfully defend your towers and keeps.

Zerg at your door? Rain down fire and light them up!
Get downed on the walls of the structure you’re defending? No problem! Vapour form hover away to safety!

Zerg planting down catapults from a short distance? Get your elementalist engines ready!
Step 1: Focus block with swirling winds.
Step 2: “Suicide” run to their siege. Drop your AOEs of fiery death!
(Step 3: Get downed.)
Step 4: Float back to safety with mist (/vapour) form!

Trebs hitting your structures? Focus block with swirling winds and be the hero of the day!

What can a thief do? Fire a cluster bomb every 5 seconds that does squat all? Man a cannon where they melt to AOE?

Truly Elementalists are balanced…

I think the mass transfers has tipped the balance and destroyed the morale of SoS this week. It really is a game changer.

But that’s just for this week. SoS hasn’t given up as a server yet. Because Oceanics never die and will never abandon/band wagon to other servers like some.

D/D Eles are the new top OP class though.

You may be able to see them. But good luck catching, out DPSing and out healing them.

Usually it’s over in a few hits for a thief. A d/d ele is a 12-inch cannon mounted on a lightning tank.

I am allowed to keep my super elite fighting force of a guild out of BG BL’s to try to skew the results, I think I shall do so. More so as 10gp is alot of money to someone with 12gp!

The reality is, that if BG just 2v1’d SoS in EB the rest of the week, only on one map even, I’d be 10gp richer. No real BG’er should be able to resist saying they were the server who kicked SoS back to T2.

Also, anyone know more about the rumblings that some key SoS Oceanic/Sea guilds are transferring to TC to fight against Warmachine?

I really dont like way point system. Sure its nice to zip from one place to another with ease, but honestly for immersion sake, I would rather ride through a zone to get to the amazing dragon or what ever, then just appering when he spanws and killing him for the sake of loot. It really takes away the epic feeling you get from slaying a beast as large as a dragon.

What would I like to see? Less waypoints, more mounts; at least mounts with a temporary speed boost, with a moderate cool down so zone size wouldn’t shrink.

It would be better if they made way points cost 1-5 gems per trip.

They are a premium after all.

SPvP needs moar modes. It has been noted.

PvP stands for Player vs. Player. I go to WvW to kill other players. I am also a player. Therefore, WvW is PvP – claim rendered invalid.

No. You go to WvW to take camps and towers to help your world. And NPC’s guard those camps and towers, not players. It is more beneficial to kill NPC’s in WvW than it is to kill other players. Therefore, WvW is PvE.

He goes to WvW to kill other players, same reason I do. We are PvPing when we do that.

Also, without enemy players the WvW aspect of the game wouldn’t even exist. By it’s very nature, it is a form of PvP.

You’re both wrong. It is neither just PVE or PVP. But both. It is a hybrid.

You don’t have as much motivation as number 1. So drop SoS down to number 2 and that’s when you awaken the beast.

Put the sound quality of lowest. Problem is fixed and I never had the sound bug again.

I have noticed this as well. Was there a recent update that allowed this to happen? Or is it just because it’s been a few months and a lot of people have legendaries now and want to sell?

Clearly a exploit, the karma pick being able to mine ori is clearly a error so the people doing it should be banned. On the other hand being lvl 2 is not a issue aslong as your using a black lion pick.

What I get out of reading this:

Gem Shop = Good!
Playing the Game = Bad!

Same situation. Just one comes from a Karma vendor and the other from the Gem Shop/random black lion chest drops.

Seems to me the AOE nerf is not needed in anyway shape or form and more or less will make redundant Ele’s. Even if your not an Ele you must see this as a sign of things to come and as there is no support in the forums for this even though they said it was.

Anyway, I conceptually like the idea of a tank. It would basically just be a “catapult golem”, though I suppose it could also be a ballista.

“Real” siege equipment seems fine, golems are a bit out of place, and tanks and stuff would be way out of place

Because Elementalists wielding the elements and Guardians summoning magical barriers weren’t real enough.

Last I checked. This is a fantasy game. Not a medieval one.

Also there are already tanks in the game. And air ships. And submarines.

Add pre-events that spawns a dragon in the Stone Mist lord’s room where all 3 servers have to battle it out with (and each other) to claim SM.

Right as I log in WvW today, BG is in lord room at Ascension Bay in Jade Quarry Boderlands. Pushing on our Borderland when SoS has taken their Garrison, and has totally wiped them out of Eternal Battlegrounds. The logical move for BG is to regain ground on their own borders thus reducing the potential points of SoS. Just like SBI has done in the past, BG sees JQ as the easier target. This is the reason why there is frequently a huge point difference between all 3 servers at the end of the week. A more balanced approach on the battlefield will yield more balance in the final score results. I think many people get to personal about things instead of looking at the most logical attack strategy. JQ often pushes at SoS because we want to be #1 server. We are just striving to be the best in WvW and have nothing but respect for SoS, it is nothing personal. Welcome to tier one Blackgate we are glad to have you here

I’d just like to say I can’t wait for SBI to come back to Tier 1 so we have some real competition at least. At the moment we have two servers bringing their A game to Tier 1 and the third server seems to think all the Tier 1 fighting is on the forums instead of the battle field.

Tried to advertise my siege stockpile amounting into the 100s for sale. No one on the server was interested or even raged at me.

Although blueprints are soulbound, they can be dropped when equipped, allowing them to be passed to other players. Players will sell the blueprints to other players for coin. While transfering blueprints in WvW is intended¹, selling is not.

Players will spam the chat about selling blueprints, otherwise players will be unlikely to observe the actual trade. Selling in this fashion is not only subjected to suspension (players selling blueprints should always be reported) but is also highly susceptible to scams.
