I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.
2 years is a long time for an MMO not to release anything.
I think you are mistaken. We have released content and features in the last two years on a fairly regular basis. Just because the content and/or features were things that you personally did not particularly care for doesn’t mean we didn’t release anything.
Please don’t trivialize the efforts of our design and development staff down to “nothing” because you didn’t like it. It’s fine to comment that you didn’t care for what was released, but don’t pretend like we’ve done nothing here for the past two years.
Looks at WvW
Looks at sPvP
Looks at precursor crafting
Looks at official GvG game-mode
Looks at guild capes and guild halls
Looks at new zones and dungeons
Looks at new weapon, utility, and elite skills
Looks at slow and almost non-existent balance updates
Ok Mark.
Ew.
How does it feel to ignore work because it isn’t something you personally benefit from?
Sometimes I wonder about people in this community and whether they can be content at all.
Keep up the good work Anet. You obviously have a large part of your audience that refuses to be satisfied until you dance to their beat.
does this game have anything free soon? it seem to slowly turning into typical Limited free to play game… and why use feature patch name for these updates when they actually are pay to gem updates even dye options have gem notice is that what we paying next?? i bet upcoming events are pay to play too i respect areanet all those years but recently i am very disappointed you,, if you so much need fees please start selling expansions like orginal game instead of turning main game slowly big gem store
Sounds like a ‘you’ problem.
I haven’t had an issue with playing the game, converting gold to gems, and buying what I want.
“what I want” being “vanity items nonessential to gameplay.”
I love that Duuhm ban.
I strongly prefer harp playing to PVP content.
I am afraid of most sharks in Gw2 due to a phobia, and because of that avoid the orrian ocean, -especially- where the megalodon spawns. I’ve been forcing myself to deal with them to overcome this.

Who cares about a slight nerf to do PvE?
Q: Will this affect your speed clears?
A: yesQ: Will this affect your effectiveness to run dungeons/fractals?
A: yesQ: Will this cause longer ques for you in dungeon runs?
A: Heck No..My point is that the DPS associated is minimal. Greatsword is a mobile weapon and should not be confined to Passive Adrenaline with all your DPS associated with a single skill. I understand your frustration with having a nerf to your class/build but this is honestly a step in the right direction for Warriors.
I am sure that in time you will come to agree with me..
Fixed. A 5% reduction will affect speed clears and dungeon runs, minimal as it may be.
Sure as hell not gonna be in any -less- demand, cause of it, and wise use of the Arcing Slice might shave seconds off mandatory trashmobs.
I don’t really play warrior; my main is a mesmer. Also, I play shatter (20/20/0/0/30) with the staff/ sword+focus. The only issue I ever had with fighting warriors in spvp is that they could passively heal most of my damage without resorting to using endure pain pretty much ever. I can avoid the majority of the hammer skills, except the bursts skill, as long as I was in staff or had most of my skills off cooldown. However, once I start kitting with staff, they switch to LB destroy me with burns, my illusions die and they remove all of the conditions I put on them.
I think that healing signet should take a slight nerf to the passive effect and that the other healing skills need to be buffed to make them more viable compared to HS.
Tbh, I never really noticed how strong CI is since I play a burst build, but not being able to kill someone because they passively out-heal all the damage I throw at them needs to be addressed.
what does your build look like? I’ve met some mesmers that hit like they’re wearing pillows on their hands, and then some that absolutely melt my HP pool.
Certain it is the healing sig alone and probably not a very tanky build? Was he able to kill -you-?
I don’t mean to imply that your build isn’t what it should be, and passive outhealing is an issue, but we need to consider any factors we can before jumping to a nerf thatll affect warriors across the board.
Also remember that you guys will be buffed next patch and PrisUnder Mesmers are the bane of our existence
Kind of too glamorous for a ban, but I’m not against the idea.
Adrenaline changes are a massive change to Warrior class mechanic and to state anything otherwise is lying to oneself. ANet nudging some traits/utilities to provide more (and even less in the case of Berserker’s Stance) Adrenaline gain at the same time as this sweeping change to compensate shows that you have a class mechanic that is seriously broken. Seriously seriously broken.
For example, when Thief initiative mechanic was nerfed (“balanced”) into the ground and back, what did ANet do? Because the Thief initiative class mechanic basically relied on taking specific traits and utilities to maximize performance, ANet increased the base initiative regen and nerfed the utilities to diversify builds.
In Warrior’s case, they nerfed (penalized) Warriors Adrenaline gains (even the best Warriors can’t avoid blind spam/Aegis so losing all your Adrenaline for no impact will be very common) and now Warriors will “need to” take specific traits and specific utilities as well. Guess what the next step is going to be when 90% of Warriors will have the same 3-4 traits/utilities to compensate? ANet probably already has it on the “balance” roadmap.
In the meantime, do what the Thief players did (besides whine about it) and reroll to the new FotM – at that time, it was Mesmer/Elementalist — you all should be rerolling to Ranger/Engineer
Instead, I’ll just start using GS in pvp.
Oh, really? Didn’t knew that. Well, then let’s see what we free updates got for our full box price in GW1 when compared to GW2:
GW1 Prophecies:
- Sorrow’s Furnace
- Tomb of the Primeval Kings revamp
- Helloween quests
- Wintersday quests
- constant balancing updates
GW2 (blatantly copied from the wiki):
- Mad King’s Labyrinth zone,
- Reaper’s Rumble and Lunatic Inquisition activities,
- Mad King’s Clock Tower jumping puzzle
- Ascent to Madness dungeon
….Yeah, now I see what you mean.
Serious question: Is there really someone here who bought the game back in Summer 2012 and honestly assumed that we would receive that amount of constant updates and support for the price of a single boxed copy?
~MRA
i would have prefered to pay for expansions if it had gw1 amount of content.
I would spend more in the gem store just to support anet if i liked the stuff coming out.i dont feel the vitriol that some people feel, but honestly, while i do think the dev teams have been working hard, and spent some big time on some things, it hasnt been that effective at making the game feel deeper or more expansive. Die hard gw1 anet fans i know that were at pax multiple years at all the anet events, dont even plan to go to the booth this year.
I cant say everyone is unsatisfied, i dont think everyone is. But even some people who really liked this game barely log on. I dont think the content that has been released is the content people really wanted to see. They basically wanted new game modes, more skills, new full maps, new stories (which they have done a bit of) new explorations, refined systems, expansions of systems.
You just got to step back and really look, and what they have put out doesnt renew the game experience. Thats ultimately what every MMO has to do to survive, as much as Qol stuff is nice, it doesnt make the game feel new and exciting.
Where is the new and exciting game patch? you guys are gamers, you remember staying up all night for that new content to hit, and explore and find and get all these new things thats what ya got to recapture in order to keep a lot of people engaged
You’re assuming no one was/is excited about Drytop, no one is excited about the living story. I’m pretty sure Anet has metrics that show otherwise.
Some people just like jumping and it provides a lot of that too.
I’d like to say personally that dry top is now my favorite hangout spot. The oasis is Gorgeous and you get free loot for a little bit of jumping.
As of right now, with the way they handled the scarlet fiasco, the way they entwined the Mordrem tendrils along the leyline she disrupted, and they general changing state of the world, is very pleasing to me. I go on little strolls through the world to see how the content has changed since last patch.

This is really cool information! Thanks Talon.
Also, and not to be overly snarky here, but this is a good example of one of the ways players can feel like we’re not receiving the necessary communication from ArenaNet. I’ve been playing this game for 731 days (though a paltry 2200 hours or so) and I just today learned that official communications from a GM have a special chat color.
We’ve only recently started using visible and active GMs in the game. Prior to say – 2 months ago? – you wouldn’t have seen a GM.
Look for us more as we’re slowly ramping up our presence.
This should be part of the Feature Pack.
10/10
Would read again
I’m fairly certain that ArenaNet has previously stated that game developers do not have any in-game abilities. Only GMs do and all GMs are identified as a GM with “GM” in their name.
As this ArenaNet employee is NOT a GM, there is no way this ArenaNet employee could have caused the OP to disconnect.
If true, OP whine to the max, close ok

Op was having fun playing music in front of the bears. Dev interrupted him, twice apparently.
Was the op doing anything he didn’t have the ‘right’ to do? No. Thus any retributive action against him causing an interruption in his enjoyment is unwarranted.
Touche. Playing music is enjoyment, unwarranted interruption of that would be harm.
Good point.
That being said I still cant side with “not moving for 3 seconds” so the mod could get a picture. (Assuming this happened etc youknow.).
Grey and grey morality for me. One more leaning toward “you cant tell me what to do” and the other leaning toward “I’ll make you do what I want.”

I didn’t sign away my consumer rights against unfair practices when I clicked it.
Let’s see how you’d feel when you get kicked out of the game just because a dev didn’t like how your character looks at that particular moment (not Kodan in this instance).
This is quite true.
However, I wouldn’t be ticked if an admin wanted to do something, asked me to move, and kicked me for a second because I didn’t want to. I would consider that fair game.
If an admin was kicking people based on appearance, then we’d have a case, imo.
Again this assumes he did any kicking at all

You should have moved anyway, regardless of whether or not they d/ced you.
You have the right to play Gw2 as long as you follow the TOS, and complying with requests from moderation is part of the TOS.
All you had to do was let the poor guy get a shot of the bears (move for 3 seconds), and you cant even prove he actually dc’d you at that.
Is this actually a thing?
[Toning this down because it may be more grating than necessary]

To be honest I don’t think the nerfs are unwarranted. A 6/5/0/0/3 Zerk GS Warrior is still going to have personal DPS through the roof in PvE right? You’ll just have to play a bit harder to keep it at an untamed level. I think the changes to SoR will have more of an impact.
For PvP though, Arcing Slice is looking like it will have a taste of what Eviscerate is able to do if it nails someone. A nearly 6k crit on foes with less than 50% health with no might – definitely seems like something you’d want to dodge.
I can almost hear the qq on the wind…
There is just pretty much two problems with warriors and that is Berserker Stance and CI with LB.
The feature patch is going to put warriors in line in my opinion, at least in most parts. They just need to adress the problem with CI + LB.
And what comes to Berserker Stance. Complete immunity to condition for 8(10)s is too long. Either make it a bit shorter or make it like Endure Pain. You can still hit them with the conditions but they don’t have effect.
What this would mean is that you could still overload the warrior with conditions while warrior is in berserker stance, but warrior won’t take any damage from them or be hindered by the conditions. After the stance runs out they start to tick and effect like they should. This would probally be kinda hard to code, but could be interesting change to the mechanic of Berserker Stance.
I don’t agree with the zerker stance nerf yet, in light of the new mesmer buffs. Let’s hold off on addressing that for now, there seems to be a gradual buffing to other classes to bring them into balance with what was considered “op” for warrior.
I’m also reconsidering the Longbow/CI synergy because of these buffs, as it will be the only viable means the warrior class has for surviving against a PU-build mesmer that skirts out of range.
The scales have shifted, slightly.
balance:
high damage / high health, armor, sustain / slow as balls and easily kited
high damage / high mobility / low health, armor, sustain
high mobility / high health, armor, sustain / low damageimbalance:
high damage / high mobility / high health, armor and sustain.
with melandru/holebrek, food, dogged march, healing sig, disproportionate base stats, eviscerate, CI, you really have to have your head in a hole not to create a warrior without drawbacks.
Let me modify this a little and see what you think.
high damage / high mobility / high health, armor and sustain/ perpetually visible
med damage / med health/ high+ armor, sustain / slow as balls and easily kited/ perpetual visibility
high damage / high mobility / low health, armor, sustain / low visibility
high mobility / high health, armor, sustain / low damage / low visibility
I’d like to add that while the Warrior has:
They also fight like blind elephants against anything that can disengage by stealthing.
Visibility is a combat advantage in this game, so at least in that area, disadvantage is ingrained.
With Eles having high sustain, Guardians having high sustain, other warriors having high sustain, and Necros having… urr… lich form, for 1v1s, I suppose, there’s a kind of complex balance going on that doesnt just boil down to armor class and how strong someone hits.
Does that make sense?
(edited by Azure The Heartless.3261)
If you give mesmers AA torment, GW2 will turn into mesmer wars 2, at least until they make another class completely op.
Ahahahaha, warrior detected.
Can you tell us in which game mod condie mesmer will be OP?
Now:
- wars OP at pve, mesmers useless
- wars OP at WvW, mesmers useless
- wars OP at SPvP, mesmers useless unless 1 man at all mesmer community
oh condie pu mesmers immortal 1×1 but also can not kill someone because have not chase abilities.
[Previous argument about Mesmer PU build not needing Torment stacked on top of it]
You know what, I don’t even care.
Still gonna win.
(edited by Azure The Heartless.3261)
No, it should work if you actually hit an enemy with the skill. As that was the whole point of changing how the trait works.
Doing otherwise makes the whole change meaningless, as people will just use the longbow for a guaranteed cleansing, despite the change. The point of changing how adrenaline and CI work is that you aren’t supposed to be rewarded for failing.
And as now, it works exactly like that.Sorry it works on Adrenaline BAR SPENT, and not on hitting someone. Get it?
Did you even follow the Ready Up about warriors?
One of the devs explicitely said in chat that they’re changing how CI will work. And it won’t process on miss.
Kay. Thanks for clarification.
i hear thieves were also supposed to be Squishy McBurst and mesmers were originally intended to work.
when people make threads about warriors being OP, you have a lot of warriors who trip out and rage like they have no idea why someone would post that (or assume the answer is the poster must be bad). it seems to elude a lot of wars that healing signet and cleansing ire are not okay.
when people make threads about the state of p/d thieves, even thieves agree that spec needs to get nerfed. same goes for PU mesmers (just look at all the mesmers AGAINST improving scepter with torment).
This. ^
Again, I -main- a warrior.
I’m fine with actually doing damage with a burst for CI.
I also think HS is in a good place.
I can’t see why a hambow warrior should be allowed to reset every 7ish seconds for absolutely no reason other than he chooses to, even if he cant tag his opponent. This branches to other builds of course, but this is a glaring issue to me, in terms of that particular build.
(edited by Azure The Heartless.3261)

This brings up a point of semantics I hadnt considered.
New Adrenaline rework says:
"
We reworked how the adrenaline works. Currently, your adrenaline is only consumed if you hit with your skill (i.e. if you miss with Eviscerate, your adrenaline is not consumed). Now If you miss your adrenaline dump skills, you will lose adrenaline."
Does this mean a whiffed burst attack counts as “spending” adrenaline?
So now we can proc CI whenever we want basically?
Anet this patch is really disgusting for a thief player.we really get nothing and now we are also more and more punished in 1vs1.
Why didnt u improve some of ur traps? Why didnt u improve ur condi cleanse? P/P is still crap?Traits?Im okei with the nervs but there is nothing that compensate…….
=(Haven’t you heard?
Thieves are Thieves
you got stronger, and the skill floor got raised. Time to evolve that playstyle.
Your full of nonsense.
in what way is cleave + improved venoms and mesmers being a threat nonsense regards “Thieves being stronger, skill floor raised?”
That isn’t cheap, that’s strategy.
If you really wanted the buff you’d have someone scouting from the corner of the map close to the point. You can see both avenues to chief/svanir from there.
nothing with stealth can move without giving away location from out of line of sight all the way to the chief, and anything else you could melt by focusing them.

your core gameplay is still there, and your venoms are buffed. Daggers now cleave, and warriors can’t evispam you.
only thing majorly diff is now your blind dura suffers, and Mesmers actually have a chance to put up a fight against you now.

NO NO NO!
prestige.

Think about it this way:
would you still do it for the loot if those AFKers were not there?
you didn’t do it to help them, you did it so you could get the chest yourself.
some people are jerks and just want to benefit from what they didn’t work for. Other people are late to the party but work hard, and some people have emergencies. some people are probably too weak to stand in damage zone of the boss without wiping.
The loot is there to encourage as many people as possible to at least assist you in some way. punishing people who could not be there for the start or most of the duration will lead people to pass it outright, and you might need them.
Don’t worry about who’s who. Do it for you. Let the jerks deal with being jerks.

I use gold % ^ amulet infusion.
every salvage you do increases MF, but dungeon runs give a set amount of gold.
Good lord, all the qq, it’s ok though, you’ll still be miles above ranger
You seem to think ranger is inherently worse than warrior.
Let’s fix that shall we?
The problem is that warriors have only one viable build in spvp (hambow). If there was a way I could go axe/mace or sword/sword and not get wrecked by the axis of evil (necro, mesmer, engi) I would. But seeing as how warriors have limited condi removal in spvp we don’t have a lot of options.
Limited condi removal:
shrug it off
shake it off
Trooper runes (which turns FGJ/fearme/OMM into condi removal)
Melandru runes
There’s lots of condi clear. There isnt much condi clear that lets you build full cc spec but the options are there.
troll thread for bad players of other classes to “discuss” how they want to nerf another class.
In game where thief is a ultra heavy duty double duty evasion tank, plenty of stuff to fix first
Hello pot, meet kettle.
This thread is a valid one. the only non-ridiculous suggestion so far is require bow to tag with comb. shot for CI.
And even then, as was previously stated, the target is the -ground- and we dont have any other multi target ranged weapons anyway, so…
Might just look the other way on that too.
(edited by Azure The Heartless.3261)
And yet OP you fail to see how this affects the other aspects. The “buffs” do not make up for the heavy nerf being received in many regards. The new change for instance, cripples rifle even more than before.
you mean rifle was partially useful before?
No but:
With the bleeding i could do more damage on POWER builds compared to the new rifle AA where they remove bleeding.
And:
If rifle issnt viable, why reply on that part??
Now reply on the rest of his post.. the part about nerfs hit harder compared to the useless buffs..
Brutal shot -> Autoattack = you will now do increased damage for 12 seconds. and max out your adren bar with auto attack.
Brutal shot has a 15 second cooldown and applies 8 stacks of vuln. Fierce shot has a flat 20% damage increase. For auto attack.
The damage has just moved into raw power instead of bleeding ticks. That buff is far from useless, provided you can land brutal shot.
kill shot ready quicker than ever, if your opponent is paying attention spend adren bars on something easier to land.
My response about rifle being viable was a snarky comment. It is incredibly difficult to use in PVP settings since it only focuses one target. the moment two people focus you, you cannot use rifle and kite. unless you are in a zerg. In which case your auto attack now provides you with ‘instant’ killshot.
(edited by Azure The Heartless.3261)
And no reply to the rest of my post??
I will take it upon myself to answer your post.
Which builds are nerfed “into the ground” except hammer/lb power?
Faster projectile is certainly an option, and could easily be considered mandatory.
Longbow isnt nerfed into the ground. We are proposing changing one skill to require you to aim. in 1v1s you can ensure that with pin down, in zergs it doesn’t matter, you’ll hit -somebody-.
You proc CI in WvW by aiming.
Not all warriors use Hammer. this suggestion will primarily affect them because they have no mobility and need to tank condis, but in WVW, you are guaranteed to hit someone if Zerg V Zerg, and in 1v1 you have Pin down and the luxury of aiming.
Again, your CI isnt going anywhere, and proccing it will still be possible. It will just require hitting an enemy. anything. Ambients even if you’re in WVW roaming.
It isnt as end-of-the-world as you think.

I think that annoying Vee Wee (he always post something like heey Vee Wee here #1 engie or something… yeah yeah Vee wee we all read it now :-)
but he made a suggestion like this:
when arrow hits your target it will creates the Aoe Field at that target
And the target issnt the ground but ofc a foe..
And ofc a different arrow that goes horizontal and faster compared to its arrow right now.
That works too.
Why can’t we “just can’t” do that?
>Target ground, any initial damage or damage from fire tick for touching the field procs CI.
Longbow still sets up for Fiery Aura, area might, burning, Pin down for immob, idunno, hitting more than one target with one of the only two ranged weapons we have?
There’s lots of things you can use LB for other than condireset.
Gotta be careful about that, if its not coded right (har har) it’d result in multiple condi cleanses every time someone steps into the field. Since every other burst resolves CI when adrenaline is spent, if there’s no hit on execution it shouldn’t trigger.
Just add a 5 sec cooldown to CI proc, problem solved.
Doesn’t the field last longer than 5 seconds?
My mistake, 8 seconds.
There may be some microbalancing needed here, especially if burst recharge is specced.
or they could greatly increase the speed of the projectile and just have the initial damage for being in the landing radius proc CI. that works too, imo.
And yet OP you fail to see how this affects the other aspects. The “buffs” do not make up for the heavy nerf being received in many regards. The new change for instance, cripples rifle even more than before.
you mean rifle was partially useful before?
Why can’t we “just can’t” do that?

IF:
Cleansing Ire should not be a guaranteed proc on Combustive shot drop
Then:
make ALL burst skills the same!
So all have 600 leap
So all have same damage
So all cleaves/Aoe
So all are 1/2 sec casttime (also kill shot)I mean if you want F1 be the same for all weapons you SHOULD also adress this problem.
We don’t want all F1’s to be the same. We’d just like their burst skills to require doing damage to proc CI. How they go about doing that can be varied.
>??
We dont want all F1’s to be the same?
but they do have to suffer all from the same adrenaline chance right?
If you do this that atleast remake Combustive shot!
You cant give longbow the same effect if you keep it a GROUND attacked skill!!
you just CANT do that.
So now you have to remake longbow F1..
Give me any reason now to use longbow over hammer? or every other CC weapon because the reason many use longbow is the 100% CI proc so you can spend some traits also in offensive traitline..
We aint all running condibunker or warhorn in pvp or full glass hope he dies before you do builds..many other weapon builds will suffer very hard if you chance longbow F1.
Why can’t we “just do” that?

That seems to be the issue with the builds; since Lb is 100% proc rate right now, you can clear three conditions every 10 seconds, provided you are in the fray and/or havent touched SOR.
just make it require aiming, is all I’m saying. All we’re suggesting is remove the guaranteed from an already amazing condiclear setup.
(edited by Azure The Heartless.3261)
Why not just remove longbow’s burst and add a “health burst” that instantly refills your HP and removes all conditions by shooting yourself in the face?
You mean do absolutely nothing to LB burst?
Sure let’s do it.
I wonder if it’s possible to proc CI when someone touches the field, or if they’d have to rework the skill itself.
I’d rather it stay AOE, hopefully it wouldn’t require a skill revamp.

If a warrior cannot just pull out a bow and reset his condis, then he’ll be forced to endure them for the duration, spec to clear them sooner at the cost of less damage output, or ensure his burst hits.
all of which are issues that could assist with the “warrior is good at everything at once” complaint.
If the only thing hanging up Warriors as being OP is the easy reset with the bow, just change it and call it a night.

Can’t you guys read? 100b 5% damage nerf, is transfered to the 8th hit. So basically the nerf is neutralized by the end attack damage boost. The only time 100b is nerfed, is when not finished.
The irony is killing me.
Produce the post that says 100b is going to have a buff on the last hit.
The livestream said it will remain the same. As in, 5% decrease for every hit -except- the last.
That’s a nerf. Y’wanted a nerf? there ya go.
Other laughs I had:
Nerf RTL on squishy ele ok?
some of best healing skills in game.

Longbow, be there before its 50% hp.
Sword or GS for mobility if you need to speedtag.
I don’t farm at cursed shore because of Risen sharks.
those things are kittening creepy.
Dry top is good enough for me.

I’d say after CI/Combustive Shot interaction gets changed, the Warrior could use some small buffs. Perhaps a buff to Mending’s heal to make it more attractive as it is (and can be traited to be better) a very good condi cleanse, but usually isn’t worth losing the high healing amount from healing signet.
That’s reasonable. Right now I’d say HS isn’t so much overpowered as it is less situational than mending or defiant stance. I’d be more compelled to run those in WVW or PVP if they were more usable in cases where you were not damage or condibombed.
Alright, so so far, it appears that the foremost, if not only thing that should be addressed is:
Cleansing Ire should not be a guaranteed proc on Combustive shot drop
with some people thinking the warrior would be in a good place then.
I’m still on the fence about signet. 200-280 seems a bit low, unless it scales heavily with healing power, so more input on that would be nice. It should be scaling with healing power now, but it seems to be at a “begrudgingly accepted as tolerable” level as regards balance, which is fine considering it was looked at and the recent nerf was deemed to be reasonable.
With the CI/Longbow synergy cut a bit, would Warriors be in a good spot? Or is there something else that needs to be changed?
On the topic of small buffs, I’d like to see one to raw sword damage, but only tentatively.
I’d also like to see mace made a viable choice for pvp/wvw, personally.
Thanks for the civil discussion, also. Normally any mention of ‘warriors’ and ‘balance’ in the same sentence causes waves of fear from people who use the playstyles affected.

I view the longbow as a utility weapon that is taken on most successful pvp builds, similarly to the necro staff, as most successful builds will take that weapon just for utility, although the longbow is much much better for pvp than necro staff is, yet they are both mandatory to an extent.
I’d simply want combustive shot to only proc cleansing ire if it hits a target, and honestly I’d suggest toning down the power of the area denial of that skill, either by size or duration, because it forces you away from a huge area, and if you stay there you could easily get wrecked by burning thanks to celestial and might, and I just feel that’s a bit too strong. You don’t see necro marks having as raw area control and denial power as that one skill, and neither do you see wells having that effect because they match the size of a capture point and they are much shorter in duration, this having much weaker area denial power than combustive shot.
If both of those changes happened, you’d consider the class balanced?
CI proc on hit, smaller field radius ?
I’d like to note that armor that applies to all classes should not be taken as a reason for a class being overpowered, and that celestial warriors will do lower damage at the cost of higher burning.
Far as I can tell, you can make a warrior that has low condition duration, very high damage, heavy high health, very good regen, and very high armor. Maybe lower some of that?
Where would you start?
They have one of the highest base HP’s in the game to begin with, so that’s a thing.
Editing for response:
Would it be better if Warriors had:
*Less condi clear
*Less immunity ticks?
Should there be a cooldown decrease for slotted immunity skills?
Should we not be able to facetank? where would you begin toning things down, without going so far as to make the class a sandbag?
I understand you believe warriors have access to way more than they should, but how far should they be cut back to be “not overpowered?”
‘a pain’ is not synonymous with overpowered, mind you.

WTF!? If we don’t get newer game modes, I’m going back to WoW!
> don’t get newer game modes
> go back to older game modes
okay.
This is open to all classes, all viewpoints and such. I’m kind of curious as to whether there is a general consensus as to what is overpowered about warriors, and at what point they would be considered “balanced” by light and medium armor class mains for PVP (because in WVW food means idc.).
Is there already a general list as to what needs to be toned down/scaled up for them that is largely accepted?
Edit: So far, there is general agreement that:
Cleansing Ire should not be a guaranteed proc on Combustive shot drop
Any arguments to the contrary are welcome.
Edit: In light of the recent buffs, I have reconsidered the CI/longbow synergy in the face of Mesmers now having torment as a ranged weapon, personally.
(edited by Azure The Heartless.3261)
I wouldn’t mind any damage dealt to any enemy in the Combust. Shot field taking damage being the proc for CI, rather than it just landing on the ground.
Axe is fine now that Adren drains.
E.Shaker is fine now that Adren drains.
GS is now partially viable as a pvp weapon.
I cant help but think that “warriors being nerfed back to bottom tier” is the aim of many players though.
If we did have to hit with combust. shot to proc CI, then would the large “warrior is OP” crowd be placated? Or would they just move on to: “shout heal warrior op, Heavy class OP, Endure Pain OP, mobility OP” until we were just sandbags again?"
’Cause frankly, if there would be no point at which the consensus would agree that Warriors are not overpowered short of downright making them damage sponges, now is a good a point as any to stop nerfing.
