ah, my solution would be to remove the tactivators altogether since imo they are mostly a waste of space. Other than the possible wp if you have a zerg nearby to come help and a small amount of supplies they’re kind of meh.

About the only things I feel useful in those upgrades is the +10 and maybe the sabotage depot options.. and we don’t need tactics for those. Just my thoughts though

I have a feeling that what someone is talking about is the ‘troll’ on “this” site dropping the siege on the tactic so that you CAN interact with it. In that case then it’s a super pain of course.. true epic trolling. But if it’s enemy dropping their siege on your tactic, other than hiding it, there should be no impact since you can’t interact with the enemy siege… :P

I wish we could just go back to vanilla gw2, the first couple years, HoT did major damage to wvw.

I believe that HoT in itself didn’t hurt WvW. What really hurt WvW was bringing something as big as HoT in while at the same time completely changing WvW with new borderlands that were almost impossible to navigate. The barriers that were there originally combined with much more obstacles that we have to deal with now caused even the most “die hard” wvw players to look at it and go NO WAY. By the time ANet responded by “fixing” the dbl so that it was much more usable (although still too big) a lot of people had just left wvw… and I know a few that still stopped playing gw2 altogether.

Now you add the linking, and you had noted (in some of the comments I filtered out for space), that it was up to the people to maintain their communities. I know that many people really tried to do this. But what community do you have when you really do NOT have a steady place to “hang your hat”? Being moved from host to host after the third iteration pretty much cleaned out a couple of the linked servers that I know of. They have people that bandwagoned there of course but the original “community” went poof. I moved my main to a host server where I already had some friends and the difference in the “feel” of things was immediate.

This debate could go on forever, and it probably will, lol.

For me I solved my “non fun” by moving to a host that I liked. My alt is still on my old server so I can go run with my friends there when I want but I probably go on that acct once a week now, maybe.

Bottom line to me is that linking seriously damaged WvW more than it helped. Do I have an answer? No I don’t know what the answer would be. So I figured out how to live with what has been done and have some fun again because frankly I still really like this game and the people I know in it

This week has been the best matchup I’ve played in since joining TC. We’re having even groups duking it out for 10+ mins/smaller groups coordinating to take down much larger groupd and its just amazing. Great fights every evening this whole week.

Agreed.. I’m on CD and it’s been quite a fun week for a change. At least this week we don’t have one of the huge servers sandbagged down to us… and some real fun fights. Roaming/havoc has even been a lot of fun

If the OP is correct then somebody explain to me why I don’t get skill lag or other lag? Not even in blob situations. I run mid to high graphic settings, nothing low and run GW2 on an ASUS RoG laptop. My internet speed is 60mbps.

If the lag is the fault of ANet then why am I not getting it?

Define “Blob situations” – people have different meaning for this. Maybe you just have not met the typical “skill lag” (a 50vs50vs50 SM fight is pretty good chance for that, while 70vs70 is not – for some reason need 3 parties for true skill lag)

I’ve been in situations where there were 3 of our groups in the same spot at the same time, minimum 40+ each with no issues. I listen and watch the map chat as people scream about the lag and think to myself… thank goodness I am not wherever they are.

Well, first you want guaranteed lots of activity.. then you don’t want queues. I’m not being mean when I say, good luck However I’m not sure that many have 2 hr queues… There are blobs on every server, even the linked ones since they are attached to hosts. I recently moved to CD and quite happy with that move. It’s the bottom of the tiers but still loving it.

Go big or go home – players deal siege damage and siege deals player damage.

Stack on gates and walls to melt them, no structure is safe.

Siege scales based on player stats, healer builds can get huge heals from treb #5 on zergs, glassy builds can one shot groups with cannons, etc.

Most people hate when Anet adds these gimmick weeks but I find them fun. Ridiculous or not, it’s a fun change of pace and it’s only temporary. I’d totally be fine with another trollish event that makes 75% of the playerbase angry because they can’t take a joke.

Disable tactics in EB spawn towers

If we own the keep at the time, then why not just take the tower wall down and cap the tower? I’m really not sure how this is an “issue” since… isn’t this thing called WvW all about the danger and risk of running in those areas? Do we really want to make it so safe to get around that it becomes boring and then people start complaining about the “easy” mode of operation in there?

Of course not everyone will be happy, I get that. But WvW, to me, is meant to be NOT easy. It’s a challenge, it’s nasty, people love to gank you, zergs love to roll over that one person and a few love to laugh. It’s the nature of WvW, and it’s the nature of some people. I don’t like those things I mentioned above… but… I’ve learned to make adjustments to my builds, and learned the ‘lay of the land’ so that I can go in and out of sight and usually avoid quickly as possible. It doesn’t always work of course and I’m glad about that or I would be bored.

For me, I prefer to keep these challenges in there. The blob-fest karma trains are a different story… boooooring. But the other challenges like this and roaming really has to stay, in my opinion

That kind of would defeat the purpose of having separate missions I think. The purpose, I believe, is to give us both something not that difficult along with other missions that are more difficult, even if the next mission is “the same” but requires more to do.

My issue with missions is that there are ones in WvW that REQUIRE at least 3 people etc. to run. That really kills it for the small guilds that are trying to get things done for their guild and can’t get people on at the same time.

imo, there should be “recommended” numbers of people but not required numbers.

Because I enjoy it.

After many hours of both playing WvW and browsing the forums, I’ve pretty much concluded that I’m in the minority for this.

I don’t care about score. I don’t care about winning, fights, PPT, KDR or otherwise. I don’t care about defending or capturing or what ever else.

I enjoy WvW because I enjoy socializing with server and guild mates. I enjoy that I can roam, I can scout, I can zerg, I can do what ever my heart desires without anyone or anything to tell me to do otherwise. I can play what ever class I want, I can play what ever build I want, I have nearly total freedom.

There are things in WvW that frustrate me, sure, but I don’t expect it to be perfect. Much like I do with a lot of things in life, I take WvW for what it is and I look on the bright side. What’s the point of always being upset? If you have constructive criticism, give it. Make a thread with ideas and be sure to consider all the variables. Your thoughts may or may not be heard by ANet but if it slips under their radar it doesn’t mean they hate you, they hate WvW and they’re not listening.

People are such drama queens. Yes, WvW has problems and yes, ANet doesn’t do a very good job at maintaining balance or keeping our interest. But at the end of the day, it’s still just a video game and it isn’t here to be a substitute for happiness. Enjoy it for what it is and give feedback where necessary instead of pouring your hopes and dreams in to a better future for the game (and probably your life) then getting mad with ANet and the world because things didn’t pan out the way you imagined they would.

BAM! I could not have said it better myself. My sentiments exactly. For all the so called issues (and I’ve complained about a few), I will still always enjoy doing what I do with my friends in WvW.

To laptop or not to laptop

All I can tell you is, I run a ASUS RoG laptop. Cost me $1700 CDN, 3 years ago. It stays super cool always, screams like the devil. I never get lag in the game with the very rare exception where there are actual ANet server issues. Not even when there are three blobs in the same spot.

All this talk about laptops being substandard really just means, to me, that some people haven’t found the right laptop yet . No I don’t work for the company, I’m just a user like the rest of you and it doesn’t matter if I’m at home, or sitting in Starbucks on their internet, I can still play with no issues. Mazda never had ZOOM like this

Edit: I run mostly HIGH on everything, and Medium settings on a couple.. nothing in the graphics is set to low.

Nerf or remove the condi

Birdy told me that the Balance Team is pushing for condi to get stronger so there isn’t going to be a nerf to condi, soo therefor WvW is going to be screwed

If this true and it happens then I tend to agree that this will make things much worse in wvw. Even with Druid I can condi clear 15 conditions… but that doesn’t stop the zerg from hitting with another 15 one second later. The condi that hits now is extremely nasty and frankly I don’t even use condi on my Druid. Considering the amount of people trying to keep condi clear going I use a zerk style build with lots of toughness and health. But it’s still pretty useless against a group of condi beasts. Making condi stronger would seriously threaten what fun is left in this WvW area.

No wonder i can’t get anyone to play wvw with me. I was at a popular server moved to crystal desert and NO ONE wants to wvw.

TkMan… what is your times that you’re online??? I’m on off and on during the daytime and a lot of the time after 7pm most week nights (pacific time). If you want to join up for some roaming havoc send me a whisper or better yet join my guild so we can find you easy As I said in my previous post.. I get frustrated, but I keep going back for more!

ah yes, well the incentive to play based on whether or not we win regardless of server I’ve been on.. doesn’t exist for me. The incentive to play and have fun and some good battles definitely exists though. The problem of course currently is in the way people bounce up and down the ladder. I have no problem being in the bottom server.. lol, I’ve been there pretty much all my wvw life and that’s just fine. My problem comes when we are here and someone who definitely has a huge number more members playing comes up against us. I mean here we were defending our fire keep against one of their huge groups, while another one took our T3 Air and then Earth keeps. We have nowhere near the numbers to deal with this.

Tired, frustrated, blahblahblah.. but will I quit WvW… lol NOT likely! I live for it. I have backed off a bit to get a breather, and will hope that the matchup changes next week.. but I’ll always be there somewhere at the very least wreaking havoc in the enemy bl’s..

At the end of the day what people perceive becomes “their reality” regardless of the real truth. The problem is that we don’t really even know what the reality is. We only know what we are being told and we have no way of really knowing the real truth. So while we are left with is perception.

It’s not an insult. It’s just simple logic. Perception being reality is fine, but if they’re so set in their ways, then nothing is going to matter. If one can go outside and tell me they’re a attack helicopter, then i’m going to take them as seriously as that. Likewise, if people are going to indulge in paranoiac fantasies in a video game, that’s fine too, but don’t disrupt my game based on them.

Your opinion on auto upgrades?

I think people forget the fact that in order for this “free” upgrade to happen you have to keep the camps running! Similar to before, but before it depended on the amount of supplies in the keep and who wanted to dish out the silver and gold for the upgrades.

Now you fight to keep the camps running and get your upgrades that way. It’s so easy to halt an enemy upgrade just by roamers taking the camps over and over again. It happens a lot. So now you get OUT of the keep and have a bit more fun than just sitting in and zzzzz then spending more gold.

Yes, if nobody is on because everyone is sleeping you get the auto-upgrades more quickly etc etc. We see a lot more T3 keeps now than before I think .. maybe .. But isn’t WvW more about the battles, in and out of the structures than it is the poor little guy that sits in there for hours babysitting and trying to get the upgrades in the order that someone wants without being screamed at.. even though it was HIS gold that paid for the upgrades?

Frankly I think this system that we have now is much better overall.

Ok, seems there are a few concerns, so let me give some info here (with no slight intended for the OP or anyone else participating in this thread):

  • We encourage our team members to play the game. Many of us do. This is a good thing for the game and for the community! This is good for every aspect of the game, from PvP, to WvW, to PvE, and beyond.
  • Sometimes playing the game in a competitive sense means.. you win! It doesn’t seem fair to suggest that a developer — who has absolutely no advantage on the live game — should back off, or intentionally take a dive, or move to a different server. After all, it’s likely they are and have been a participating member of a particular world for some time, and moving isn’t reasonable, nor is it required, nor should it be expected. I’m on a world that isn’t highly competitive, but I don’t find myself feeling the urge to move to a higher-ranked world. Conversely, if my world suddenly becomes competitive, I won’t be shuffling out of there to satisfy some edge-case expectation of me as a player or staff member.
  • No one is required to represent the ArenaNet guild. In fact, no one at the company is even required to join the Anet guild. Both are entirely voluntary. I rep other guilds, sometimes, but I rep Anet most of the time because that’s my choice. Other members of my team are not members of the guild at all. It’s very much an individual decision.
  • We don’t have a fully decked out guild hall if you mean in the decoration sense. You should have seen me scrambling to decorate for Wintersday. I’ve thought of taking up scribing to do more. Quite frankly, I feel we have a real dearth of decorations and going to other guilds’ halls to see how they decorate is always a treat for me, because they do it so well!
  • Did I mention ArenaNet playing ArenaNet’s game is a good thing?

Have you heard the saying: “Perception is reality” ?

Regardless of what you and the rest of ANet knows and does there is a perception out there that you have access to abilities that other people don’t have. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not because the perception is still there.

When you claim using the ANet tag it truly just upsets pretty much anyone that I know for example. I see the map chat light up with comments that don’t seem to stop for a while once we see a ANet claim on a Keep especially. One favorite comment is for people to go on the hunt for an ANet player and stomp him/her because there’s also a belief out there that you get some sort of title/achievement for doing this. (urban legend?)

The bottom line is that there’s nothing you can say that is going to change peoples’ perception of this. What you all COULD do though is stop claiming using the ANet guild and relieve a LOT of angst within the wvw community just by doing that one pleasant thing for us.

Desert BL [the case for removal]

Pick a server, check kill/death ratio on desert bl compared to other maps.
Theres ur proof that no one goes to desert.

edit: or maybe it is because it is so massive that no one ever finds an enemy on the map?

Well it IS proof that at least someone goes to DBL although the numbers are a lot lower than the other maps. I can preach all I want about how much I like the DBL but the fact still remains that for people that really like to zerg/blob fight the DBL simply isn’t good for that. I’ve posted before, (as others have), about how good it would be to remove the center of the map stuff and make it a nice flat battle ground. I bet for the DBL that would be a great “revival” thing. But I don’t believe they will ever do that.

So for the DBL it will continue to be a roamers home mostly and a k-train spot for the bored blobs that just want to paper things. As much as I really do like the DBL the numbers truly are proof that it’s still a map that’s not working for even close to half the wvw population.

Desert BL [the case for removal]

Kills made in total on Borderlands are roughly 40% : 40% : 20%, that alone shows its not populated anywhere near the Alpine map.

and yes Alpine is stale and old however it does have decent balance. The DBL whilst having some nice points and ideas does not have good balance and it is certainly not much faster to move around than Alpine. Certain parts are, if you hold shrines etc and make use of the jumppads or flying portals but then someone flips a camp or shrine and you’re screwed.

These changes that have been made on the DB map have made them even better imo. Of course you can fall midflight if someone takes a shrine out from under you as you’re jumping. That’s the risk of it. Seriously this game isn’t supposed to be a snap.

The DBL is nowhere near as bad as the people say it is. If the time was dedicated to the DBL, (even half the time as ABL) then people would eventually learn the ins and outs of it. It’s really not that hard to get around. Once you really know the map it’s not as slow as you think. Yes it’s bigger than Alpine but so what? To me that’s the challenge and fun of it.

I have to suspect that no matter what different type of map ANet might come out with there will be complaints. That’s the nature of things. But going in and screaming NOOOOOOO then posting about how it needs to be removed truly isn’t going to be helpful… once again.. in my opinion..

*Edit: Note, the first iteration of DBL was totally terrible. It was definitely designed to be painful for anyone and everyone. The changes that have been made to it since then have made it much better.

What do you find OP?

OP to me is something that is significantly difficult to counter consistently while being dangerous all in an average players hands. If it is effective but requires exceptional skill to pull off, not OP at least in the general sense.

A good example of generally not being OP is the Druid. Druids can be so bunker they are near unkillable. Others hit like a truck. However, there are no builds (that I know of) that pull both off with an average driver. There are some extremely well played Druids that are monstrously good but in my experience that centers around exceptional skill. Engineers, Revs and Tempests follow a similar line. They can feel OP but in almost every instance you are dealing with an extremely skilled player with complex rotations. Basically the player is mostly beating you, not solely the build.

Now underwater Rangers/Druids are stupid OP.

Again just my opinion.

I find this thread very odd … I can’t understand how it appears like the OP associated the evolution of the game with it losing it’s identity, implying that having a game that evolves is a bad thing? Perhaps I haven’t played enough MMO’s but … I’ve yet to play an MMO where the devs don’t tries to change a bit to keep the game interesting to it’s veteran players.

Sure, Anet has made some errors during this evolution but I don’t think this is very relevant; any expectation that Anet just scores homeruns is unreasonable. I wouldn’t want to waste a single minute in a game where a developer would just pump out the same old, just to maintain game identity. Frankly, I think the whole idea that a game’s identity is the sum of it’s content and lore is wrong; it’s identity is how the dev team implements the game and interacts with players.

I think that a lot of angst, (although it’s not mentioned much in these forums), is that this game is called: Guild Wars 2

Where are the guild wars? The WvW in gw2 is Server Wars, it’s certainly not Guild Wars. There really isn’t any incentive to have guilds battle although you see guild groups roaming around looking for fights here and there.

This is what makes me “chuckle”. I play a game called “Guild Wars” (2), and it’s a name that doesn’t represent what you do in this game in any way that I can see.

My understanding of the original guild wars was that you had actual guild alliances (I don’t know how they worked since I didn’t play it), and I assume guild battles? GW2 moved away from those things, although they did bring back the guild halls finally.

This game has LOTS of variety between mapping, story, bosses, raids, pvp, wvw… Enough to keep people busy for ages. But to me I don’t see what it has to do with guild wars.

1) This really has nothing to do with the thread nor many of the complaints.
2) The title is not based on actual player guilds fighting with each other.

  1. That might be true but that’s not what the title implies. The subject of this thread is “Did GW2 lose its identity”. Where are the guild wars? The WvW in gw2 is Server Wars, it’s certainly not Guild Wars. There really isn’t any incentive to have guilds battle although you see guild groups roaming around looking for fights here and there.

This is what makes me “chuckle”. I play a game called “Guild Wars” (2), and it’s a name that doesn’t represent what you do in this game in any way that I can see.

My understanding of the original guild wars was that you had actual guild alliances (I don’t know how they worked since I didn’t play it), and I assume guild battles? GW2 moved away from those things, although they did bring back the guild halls finally.

This game has LOTS of variety between mapping, story, bosses, raids, pvp, wvw… Enough to keep people busy for ages. But to me I don’t see what it has to do with guild wars.

Not sure how Ranger is broke.. I come across plenty of roamers of all classes that seem to have a good number of counters for my Ranger/Druid. I don’t run condi though, I run a Marauder build. Lots of everything except condi. The EASIEST people I come across for me to take down is other rangers, though there are some that just seem to be built for survival more than anything and manage to run away.

To me, Thief is the one class that’s truly ridiculous. What they can to stealthed makes no sense to me and the amount of dps they can put out in a few seconds in stealth is worse. If I can hit them with a reveal shot at the right time then hit the right combination of skills they will fall, but that’s a stretch for me since my reaction time isn’t what it used to be. Most good rangers should be able to deal with thiefs though if they don’t get hit from behind of course..

The other classes, imo, are not that much different. Simply different skills and counters and if you see two people that know their classes super well having a duel it’s fun to watch. It’s more about “knowing” your class than it is about the imbalance, imo. (except for thief!)

The State of WvW

I have to agree with that, I’ve been with Crystal Desert for a while and it seems as though no ones really paying attention because we haven’t had a decent pairing or match-up in months. No offense to the servers we are paired with, they seem like nice people, just not enough of them.

We are currently facing a server that should be in T2/T3 and another that has at least 2-3 times our population. We where stuck with that kitten Desert Borderland for almost three months straight and the list goes on and on.

Because of this, we have been shedding players since people just get frustrated with playing out-manned literally 75% of the day, and servers taking advantage of this by k-training us when they know we simply don’t have the coverage.

My point being, if someone was actively paying attention to what actually goes on from a granular server level, these types of obvious imbalances should never happen.

That being said, we do have a solid core of good people so if any of you Guilds want a challenge, instead of stacking on the latest flavor of the month server, try moving somewhere where wins are not just handed to you. You have to earn them.

This out-manned situation seems to be a result of this new way of bouncing people up and down the combat ladder. You win you move up, you lose you move down… I’ve been told by people on the servers that have moved way down the ladder that many of them sandbag just to get to the lower tier then sit back and just run slaughter k-trains. Much like SBI is doing right now. Here they are on T4 rated 7th in standings along with NSP rated 8th, and we are rated 12th and fighting them.. go figure that.

Needless to say but of course we are almost always outnumbered. Even now as I look at the borderlands almost everything in site belongs to SBI. Boy this must be fun for them.

The one bright spot for me now is that I am NOT on a linked server anymore but on CD where a lot of great and fun people play. We get frustrated a lot lately though!

People keep saying oh we voted for desert bl but the people who voted for it are no where to be seen and that’s because the majority who voted for it only go EOTM , PVE and people who only enter WvW for dailies . Just to a revote and exclude people who hardly enter WvW .

Maybe that’s true on your server… but not on my server. There are LOTS of us who voted for and play DBL all the time. It’s also my preferred BL to play on. And the folks I’m talking about are those that are over 1k wxp. I myself have almost 3k wxp and play on DBL almost exclusively. It’s not dead.. Not insane like the other bl’s (most of the time) but certainly not dead.

I dislike DBL and avoid playing there if at all possible. It’s really difficult to navigate and if you die in a fight there is no way you’re getting back to the tag.

It also seems really PvE heavy. Like the person who designed it had no interest in big fights. Seige Wars is not my idea of a good time, unless I want to go semi AFK while listening to music on a night capping crew.

I play WvW for intense Zerg/Blob fights and in my experience they are in short supply on DBL.

Wow, this is truly from someone who doesn’t know the DBL at all. DBL is so easy to get around compared to when it first came out that it makes me shake my head when people say how hard it is. If you spend as much time in there exploring it and running around as you do disliking it you would find it’s not as bad as you first thought. It’s actually quite a fun map to run on once you know it

What can you do if there is no commander?

Grab Ruins
Place Supply Traps EVERYWHERE
Kill Sentries
Form a Small Group and Flip a Tower

Basically anything/everything that doesn’t require a Zerg to do, and remember, the Commander is only one person, keep faith in yourself and others to do work, and don’t allow having no Commander cripple your resolve.

I think the main problem is we all try those things solo or with a small crew. The sentry markers show the lonely dot, blob comes, runs you over.

You should be able to kill a sentry in 10 seconds, or even less.. and that’s solo. On my Ranger it’s easy. Then you run one way in case they’re looking and in case tracking is still on for a second or two.. then change directions. By the time they even try to get to the sentry you are already gone.

A camp that’s not T3 is pretty easy to get almost all of the npc’s down before the swords show up it you group them up and target the supervisor with everything you got.. Once again you can usually get the camp down solo pretty fast.

If you are bored and alone.. take up the challenge of doing things like this alone and time it. You will find tricks and skill combinations that you might not have thought of. At least you can have fun making the enemy run all over the place as you cap, port, cap the other side, port..

And then as people has noted.. there are towers.. Alone it’s not super easy but it’s doable.. With 3 or 4 people a tower can be capped easily and maybe you’ll even get some pvp out of the deal.

It’s not just all about zerg, roam, get blobbed, go home.. As others have noted.. it’s all about what YOU do with the game. For me, I don’t typically roam alone because I prefer to run with friends. Live or die, running with friends is what’s fun for me.

Bottom line.. find a way to have fun!

Outnumbered give no points

I am happy to see that when you are outnumbered in a BL the enemy gets no points from killing your and your people. At least when their blob rolls over you and they dance on your head you can lay there and smile knowing they get nothing from it other than causing you to invoke your wp mastery

This is awesome: Being killed while outnumbered no longer grants any war score to the enemy team.

That might be something worth celebrating if outnumbered was a local buff instead of map wide…… or if the score actualy mattered….

So not worth celebrating for people who don’t actually play the game as designed? I mean if you’re going to ignore the scoring of the game mode which counts the score according to things all over the map, whatever you’re doing is objectively no better from a game perspective than running around like a quaggan.

I play for my own enjoyment.

Ask TC players how much the score affects them, no matter how badly they lose they continue to gain glicko and are stuck in T1.

I’ve been playing on my GoM account this week, please tell me what difference the score is going to make at the end of the week when we are linked to a new server.

You get nothing for winning, you get nothing for losing. You can’t even claim bragging rights because the score is all about coverage, not skill.

So totally true Jim. Kind of humorous story … I got whispered by an enemy that we had to bring a whole server to kill him (10 of us)… then he came back with about 20 and they stayed back and ganked our trailers… ah sigh… but I had to laugh. Those that have the numbers, win… even so, our little group continues to bug the h*** out of the enemy every chance we can get and just have fun.

The one nice thing to know now is that when they blob us to death they get no points when we’re outnumbered, which for our group is most of the time.

We just want to get away from our old server and into something new. We want a medium population server, so we can actually afford the switch. Looking for a friendly server that’s good for a casual WvWer to pop in and follow a commander for a while, without needing to join a WvW-focused guild. Decent activity with no/low queues would be awesome. We’re leaving Anvil Rock, and considering Crystal Desert. Does this sound like a good fit? Any other suggestions?

Remaining on AR is not an option, neither of us has any interest whatsoever in staying here. That means we’d also prefer a server that isn’t frequently paired with AR.

For reference, these are the servers currently listed as medium population:
Ferguson’s Crossing, Devona’s Rest, Kaineng, Darkhaven, Eredon Terrace, Ehmry Bay, Borlis Pass, Sorrow’s Furnace, Isle of Janthir, Crystal Desert, Sanctum of Rall, Henge of Denravi, Gate of Madness.

High servers, in case they dip down at night (I think I read that pop is based on number online, not on server?): Dragonbrand, Fort Aspenwood, Northern Shiverpeaks, Stormbluff Isle.

EDIT: I don’t mean to dissuade anyone from staying on or moving to Anvil Rock! Our reasons for leaving are entirely personal and have nothing to do with the server as a whole.

If you’re looking for a medium linked server with a good community still then you might consider Borlis Pass. We came close to imploding like one or two of the others I know of but managed to “revive” and have a group of people that really just love to go in and have fun. I won’t say we’re better or worse than anyone… but we do have a nice upbeat bunch of folks. Message me anytime in game or on the Borlis.org web site and we can chat. How to make DBL the best BL.

Bear with me on this.

I suggest make the oasis a completely flat surface. No funky terrain, no trees, no cliffs or Ewok homes, just a flat open plain.

It is equal running distance from all spawn points and would become the ideal place for groups to fight. In the blink of an eye it would become the most popular BL.

oh boy… man this was one of the things I suggested over and over again immediately after they shut down that silly event in the center. I truly don’t know why nobody in ANet thought that was a good idea as well. Making it a great flat spot that could actually provide a spot where you might even get “Guild Wars” happening would be great. But… nope…
