HoT took a few years to come out after gw2 hit the shelves. It’s highly unlikely that a new expansion is coming anytime within the next year or so. Look for quarterly updates and other enhancements to the game (if you call them that).. but another expansion? Highly unlikely.

Right because im WvW Im really gonna go out of my way to imspect someones gear so I can asure my dominance >.< you argument is hollow, they scale you up in WvW so you can fight level 80’s as a level 10. Inspection would make absolutlt no differance in pvp!

The so called “scaling up” in WvW is crap. If you come into WvW with an uplevel and expect to beat a level 80 player who is geared for WvW you will quickly realize just how poor the “upscaling” is. Ya you get the number 80 by your name… but you are NOT level 80 by any real stretch.

… and if you are level 10 or any level that can’t even use good exotic gear and weapons with decent stats then you will just be wiped by anyone, even the bad ones, in wvw that have at least the right level gear.

This is also another reason why I keep suggesting the Dynamic Maps.

Make the number of maps adjust itself after the active population, avoid queues, and avoid empty maps. And also reduce map cap a little bit to avoid the lag while at it.

If 200 people per world wants to get into EBG, and only 50 wants to go to BL’s, then roll up 3 EBG’s and 1 BL. If 20 people wants to go to EBG, and 120 wants to go to BL’s, then 1 EBG and 2 BL’s. (Min 1 of each).

Best way to fight queue’s, let people play where they want, reduce the empty maps, and can even be used to counter off-time PPT advantage somewhat.

It’s not like there’s some group of people suddenly saying.. ‘hey we want to go to a bl’. There’s no way in real time to know exactly some magic number of who wants to go where. That kind of programming doesn’t exist and likely never could since you can’t read people’s minds…. AND by the time let’s say 20 people try to get into a non-existent BL the first 19 of them have likely gone on to do something else.. so that programming wouldn’t be very useful.

Increasing all map caps based on just one doesn’t make sense. It just allows the one with the most to have even more. Increasing just one map is going to have the same effect except now the other maps have no hope of more people coming in.. even though they’re not there to come in anyway…

Just my thoughts.. and no I have no suggestions on this either. Some have come through that were ok. But this one.. simply would not work.

oh ya, that “empty map” thing… ANet has tried to do that in the PvE land but MANY times when I’ve been forced to switched maps due to a low pop on the map I’ve actually been moved to a map with much less people around. Go figure that one… NOT a solution that would even remotely work for WvW.

This joke called wvw has thrown me, or had me throw myself, into pve land once again. Seriously wvw is more mindless than pve unless… unless you actually enjoy being a drone, meh. Argue if you want, it doesn’t matter to me anymore. For me it’s something I once did… and all that wasted gold and gems on wvw goodies… then again I did get a crapload of gold selling it all off!

It is funny how people automatically think blobbing as a zerg will win you the match. As with real warfare, every aspect is a factor in victory. A zerg of 50 pugs will be decimated by an organised elite group of 20. A 5 man tower group can fend off a 50 man zerg with the right siege placement.

50 downed by 20… yep I’ve seen that… when you’re organized it’s pretty awesome.

As for 5 men in a tower? If they can hold off a group of 50 then that group of 50 is pretty bad.. lol… With that number the blob should be able to easily build any siege they need to take out the inside siege as well as take down a wall… from far enough away (read: trebs) that the catas and balli’s in the tower can’t touch them.

sigh I hate to say it but it doesn’t matter what we say… we all should know that by now. They don’t even respond in any way to much of the thoughtful stuff that people say in here… and you can find some gems amongst the rubble.

Sorry but I didn’t read this because at the end of the day it’s another in a long list of suggestions and experience has shown that ANet is going to do what they decide in their meeting rooms… not what we suggest… except maybe by fluke…

Strategy in WvW? hmm… get with a commander that knows how to run a blob; get into ts so you can follow his/her commands quickly; shoot to kill and don’t die. For the most part it’s simply a case of putting on your borg gear and listening to the voices in your head blessing your for accepting your assimilation without much struggle.

THAT is the way of WvW these days.

Server Pride

And as far as “Server Pride” goes, I’m sorry to say but that isn’t a real thing, it is just something to complain about. Have guild pride, its guild wars, not server wars.

As noted in a previous post of mine above, I kind of agree it’s not about the ‘server’… but it IS about the community, if you have one. For me it’s not “something to complain about”, but really is sadly enough a reality that we can’t do anything about now.

Shoot me for spitting into the wind I guess but I always hold out a little hope that something will change. Even, as I said above, permanently put us on ONE server. We’ll deal with the zergs etc.. it’s not that hard to roam a lot of the time depending on the time-slot. But it makes it much less of a dedication when you’re just doing it for the sake of running around on a host server as opposed to doing something for ‘your’ home server.

I get it, but if you don’t want to be on a guest server, then transfer to a host server. I’ve transferred more times that I care to think about, but only because I wanted to go where the fights were or I was going where friends were. I don’t have any server loyalty, I have loyalty to the guilds that I am in. That is really the best way to be because anet can make a server go at the snap of their fingers, I don’t suspect that they would ever do the same to a guild unless they had real good reason lol.

oh hey it’s all good that’s the way you like to play… and have friends that go wherever you go. Yes I could switch servers and leave behind the other 2 guilds of people that I am in that I love to run with… but no.. that wouldn’t work for me. I’m glad it works for you.

The title of this thread should have been Community Pride, that would make more sense because that’s what people are really talking about. It’s hard to have a community establish a way of doing things when you continue to bounce from host to host. Most of you folks don’t mind that and that’s great seriously… but many of us don’t and we would love it to be a little different.

I have absolutely 0 issues with changing allies/enemies about times to time. I like to have contact with different people. I like to have an populated WvW enviroment oposed to the deserted borderlands (Empty, not DBL) we had before.
You people just seen to hate to be in contact with players from other communities and use the excuse of server pride to hide behind it…

Oh this is so wrong. I love being in contact with other people. It’s not about that at all.. Many people here are mistaking the term “server pride” for the actual server. Yes I’m from Borlis Pass… yes I’ve been there forever… but it’s the community that I loved that has been affected. To me in this case ‘server home’=community.

It doesn’t mean I don’t like meeting other people. Most of the people we’ve been linked with have been great to meet and run with. But it’s not OUR home. Some people ( me included ) have said that even simply assimilating us into a server would be better than moving us around like drones… and it definitely would be.

Having a place to call OUR server would once again let us have “our” fight and even if we had to adjust to the awful blob life it would at least be on a server that wouldn’t change, (unless a person moved of course – willingly).

I could move on my own to a host server but then I would leave all my peeps behind that prefer to stay together, (which I do as well). I spent 4 years building relationships and we have some real nice solid ones. That’s what I call community, hence server pride. Not just the name of the server.

It’s so sad that the huge majority of the comments you see in here now are about removing the linking even though the apparent poll asked for it. But of course the poll was in favor since MOST people that play gw2 are on the top 4 tiers… that in itself skewed the results of the poll. Those of us in the lower tiers that really liked how we played had no chance.

We have also seen our community slowly broken down into either roaming guild groups or simply groups that come in for missions and leave. Most hosts are gracious and fun to run with but it is THEIR server, not ours. A large number of the people I know personally don’t like the big zergs and don’t run in them. I would rather run with a few people and run havoc on camps and towers and battle other roamers than be a “borg” drone.

ANet will continue to see these posts; will continue to ignore them because they know better; and will continue to see people like us play less. As I’ve said in other posts, I’ve seen so many of my friends stop playing completely. The other leader of my guild and her partner are two of them. My guild went from a nice roaming group of about 10 on average, to a group of 1-3 on a good day in WvW. I know at least 6 other people personally that stopped playing because of the linking…. and that’s just people that I know.

One positive thing financially has come out of this for me though.. I spend a LOT less money on gems than I used to since my commitment to WvW and even to this game has dropped off significantly.

I truly don’t understand why ANet thinks that it’s ok to toss people around from server to server and really think that they love it… because I believe most of us don’t. The ones that do (for the most part) already had moved to higher tier servers… :P

Oh so it’s a PPT tactic for avoiding fights. No wonder I never thought about it.

lol, I guess so… I never thought of it that way… but when I’m roaming/havoc it’s one of the things I do to try to distract while the other part of my small team is set to power down a tower wall. I personally DO NOT CARE about PPT or the score period. Since linking I stopped caring about that altogether.

I simply now try to see what kind of things I can get away with before I get zerged to death. It’s the only way I can appear to have some fun in WvW since I totally dislike being a zerg drone and the small to med size servers where roaming and sneaky tactics used to produce some fun results, don’t exist anymore. I can still get away with some stuff, just nowhere near as much as before…

NA World Linking 28 October

Beyond that fact that there’s simply zero competition as the Dev’s are making up rules as they go, making up teams, having biased populations, it’s not a fun competitive environment any longer.

World Linking was a Pandora’s Genie Crack Bottle….that should never have been opened…imho

Some decisions should never be entrusted to players.

All the Zerg addicts want WvW to be 24/7 blobbing, but you need bodies for that…which recruits from the bottom tiers while destroying their communities.

WvW will turn into an exhausted & dead Zerg addict stuck in a Tier based system that denies healthy competition & simply re-inforces the addiction for Zerg stimulation.

ANet lost alot of WvW communities which used to bring in gems sales that were not tied to Server Transfers due to World Linking.

ANet really needs to break the World Linking & get WvW off this horrible cycle that is destroying the surface areas that allows communities to exist.

Some decisions should never be entrusted to players.

There’s a better Long Term solution that ANet should consider…one that doesn’t use World Linking & removes the Tiers to let players choose their Match-Ups…imho

Swords will trigger if you kill the upgrade guy. It’s a great tool for scouts to divert attention.

Swords will appear if you just hit any of the guards then leave.

I belive he meant if you just leave the NPC dead it will keep recontesting. But honestly, why would anyone bother to just tap a camp when you can pretty much flip it before swords even come up?

You give the server winning T1 a link? lolwut? Who is making these decisions? And could you please explain them? I think we’d all like to be enlightened on this since it seems pretty nonsensical.

They were only winning because they had a good link before. (The proof is already showing in the total score)

Thankfully for us we have been moved elsewhere. I feel bad for ET though.. :P … although ET might be a small group in WvW but they are some of the best people I know!

1. Adding a GvG environment that really supports that sort of play ALONE will bring back a lot of guilds and players to WvW.

2. Get rid of Desert BL , do you need a poll to really see that this was a horrible idea? Statistics alone from the time it was implemented should be enough to tell you it was a disaster.

3. Bonuses for roaming parties to encourage roaming again and small scale fights

Personally I think you should look for a different game. Short notice: my server had queues on all maps yesterday and the opponent servers had them as well. Didn’t happen to me for a whole lot of months. Stop making yourself believe this game mode is dying. It isn’t. It’s just you being salty because it is not what YOU wanted. That’s ok, but accept that there are way enough players out here who do make your opinion look not so important in the big picture. The same happened to me with raids. Hated them, still hate them, hate the idea that items are hidden behind what I consider a crappy instanced group content, had to accept that I won’t change it. Moved on.

I think you might have missed the point of what many people are saying. Perhaps the ‘game mode’ that exists now isn’t dying since it seems to be running with people that will play it. But there are parts of the game that people really loved that aren’t a fact of life anymore… such as enough tiers that different styles of WvW play were really possible.

These days it’s really a blob fest for the most part. Of course last night there were big queues.. it was reset night, AND re-linking as well. Since my friends were on we went in to see what we could do and as usual, especially on reset night, it was impossible to even do a simple grab 10 sentry guild mission without being run over but no less than 15 people after managing to hit just 2 sentries.

You like things this way and that’s great, I don’t hold anything against you for it. But please don’t trash out on the people that actually like a different way of playing WvW. What you said about our that opinions (“look not so important”) is exactly what we are talking about. Your friends may all be staying as many are, but I have now seen at least 10 of my own friends stop playing gw2 altogether, and many other people I know have the same story about people they know.

Being a ‘borg’ drone will never be what I enjoy.

So many of the suggestions sound decent but from most of what I’ve read all over these forums, most are probably not attainable. I only have one request…

2 and 3 don’t matter to me whatever they are. Even MERGING servers instead of having this ridiculous linking slaves to hosts would be better.

@Diku: What you said about gems is so very true. Since linking my gem purchasing has dropped to about 1/5th of what it was and I’m not likely to be buying more gems anytime soon now. I don’t even care that much about finishing upgrades in the guild hall.

What won’t happen is the removal of the world linking. Thanks to the poll they won’t take it away… sadly. All this means is that this Friday will be the same as the last several Friday night’s for me… I will NOT be online until sometime on the weekend, except to pop in to PvE and get the daily chest and maybe do the PvE dailies then head back offline.

As noted by me several times.. my days of WvW dedication simply don’t exist anymore.. period. Also, sadly I don’t think ANet even reads most of these… and if they do… well… I realize this is more for us to chat about what bugs us and not for them to take action… I know that won’t happen. :P

It hard to accurately quantify what is really causing people to leave WvW.

Most that suggest WvW being ruined by ANET were here since the beginning and admit as much in their posts. ANY game that is new will seem much more entertaining then after having played it for years on end.

As example early on i just loved the PvE and would rarely go into WvW as there was so much “new and fun stuff” to do in Pve. There were also all types of professions and builds to test in the same, places to explore and events to enter. When I started a character from scratch it was always an adventure to enter a new area that was higher then the one I left where I could test those new skills and explore.

That NEW factor wore off over time. If a new area now added it can take a single day to explore fully. If I want to try a new build , I just use tomes to roll a level 80 as I have no need or desire to go through the grind of leveling from level 1. I have done that

I am going to suggest that much of the "It was better then " type sentiments are in fact “It was new then” and I am going to suggest that this not a lot different then those people that reflect on when they were younger in real life and how everything was so much better.

Well in some cases it certainly was, but not in all.

To me this is not a case of “it was new then”. The fact of the matter is that it WAS better then.

It’s a case of changes that happened that have truly pushed people not just out of WvW but out of GW2 altogether. The final straw for many of the people I know, including me, was the world linking. People can say all they want about the “dead” low servers, and “server pride doesn’t exist”… but those people obviously never were on the server I’m on… and mine isn’t the only one that feels this way. My points were made in my original post so I won’t rehash them here.. I just felt it was important to note that this is not about it not being new anymore… at all.

If I didn’t have a number of disabilities and if I had an actual life, I’d have quit a long time ago. Unfortunately GW2 is one of the few releases I have for socializing and keeping a healthy brain.

I don’t know when I’ll be moving on but I do know that I won’t regret my time here. And you should feel the same, OP. Don’t live with regrets and don’t be upset because your time with something has passed. Feel happy that you felt happy and remember that moving on doesn’t have to mean letting go.

Revisit your memories often because only you can keep them alive. Good luck with where ever life takes you!

Absolutely! I have zero regrets for buying this game and playing it. I have some real good friends in here which is the one thing that keeps me coming back. It’s that sense of belonging to a server that has been wiped out due to the linkings. I’ve seen so many of my friends leave WvW and a handful of them quit the game altogether.

I won’t quit GW2 for the one main reason that I do have people in there that I have fun with. Time zone differences make it hard to be online at the same time all the time so it’s bits and pieces here and there.

What I was really pointing out that due to the many changes that have made WvW so much non-fun I’ve given up expecting it to be different and have backed off WvW almost completely.

In the last 1503 days (4 years) I have played 7663 hours up to this moment across all characters. That’s an average of 5 hours per day. GW2 addiction or what? Well it used to be.

There was a time when I didn’t even know these forums existed and pounded in GW2 / WvW for all it was worth. Finding friends, finding enemies to go after. Some days were as much as 12 hours on weekends. As I’m reading my email this morning from one of my friends asking (where have you been?) I realize that those days are gone.

I’ve said it in the forums how my 95% time in gw2 was spent in WvW at one time, and now it’s diminished. But my time in the game period has dropped to an all time low.

It’s the same song you keep hearing here about the direction of WvW and server linking. I have seen so many of my WvW die hard friends just drop out of WvW (or gw2 altogether), or do what I do and that’s go into WvW for missions or maybe a bit of havoc for a short bit and then leave. With the linking we have the one big issue that we no longer have a server to represent. Just a host, which in this case trolls us a huge amount of the time unless we just do our own thing quietly, that I personally have no interest in supporting.

Other hosts have been much more receptive but at the end of the day they are hosts and NOT our home world.

I figured I’d post this little bit in its own spot since I logged in this morning to GW2 to do my daily pickup of mats (not sure why I do that except out of habit), and then log out since none of my friends are in yet. While I was in I thought I’d to a /age check and surprised myself at how much I see I used to play, which is about 4 times the amount I play now.

Ah well, I will keep coming into the game to see friends but as things are going, (and obviously will continue to go), I will not likely tag up in WvW in the foreseeable future if ever with the current set up. Nor do I have a huge amount of interest in the same old other stuff this game has. The only reason I haven’t stopped altogether is because there is no monthly subscription. Or, (as in the case of WoW), it would be uninstalled.

ANet, I realize this makes zero difference on how you will continue to do things moving forward. But I just wanted to post my personal stats here as my final post to these forums. As I said in one forum entry.. it’s like spitting into a gale.. and frankly I’m going to keep my face dry from now on.

I can be fine if anet decides to have these polls to show you care of, but not use them to drop the responsability to the WvW community about the changes. 1000 players will never take a designer’s decision, because they aren’t and they will never be even if their number grows!

Well, thinking about, no, I’m not fine at all with these polls:
Come on, I don’t play pvp and still I can vote the current pvp related poll.

There’re many other ways to show you care of WvW but putting the cannons in the current state, a prototype of the previous WvW siege state (no cd, no condi/crit dmg on them, no cap), show me lack of effort, the opposite of anet intent.

Very good point. WvW needs a designer taking charge. Outsourcing all responsibility to player polls is not the way.

By the way are EotM players allowed to vote? I bet they are and they have nothing to do with WvW.

Why isn’t stuff that’s in ‘beta’ thrown into EotM only? People still play it, but nobody cares. It gives the community a chance to jump into EotM, test it, and go back to their normal, flawed game-mode.

EoTM wouldn’t give them any real feedback from dedicated WvW players. Most of us don’t go into EoTM ever since it really is NOT a true representation of WvW at all. Just some bunches of people yelling at each other in a toxic zero structure environment… ok that part is close to WvW a lot of the time.. lolol…

Debating the polling process rather than giving feedback on the actual cannons is such a waste of time.

The issues:
1) No siege cap – We’ve already seen them deployed by the dozens in every structure.

2) No decay timer – All other deployable siege has a decay timer. I observed randomly deployed cannons everywhere. With no decay timer and no affect on the map cap/local cap, they are being built everywhere.

3) As a result of the above issues, the bleeds and chills can all too easily destroy any size force. Sure, I know defenders like this, but frankly it has eliminated any real fights at all.

4) Damage radius and distance has made them far too effective against rams and catas. Taking SMC will be nearly impossible, unless the structure is undefended.

I’d suggest hot-fixing these if Anet wants them to be given a fair look.

To start with, they should abide by the same rules as all other deployable siege. They should have a local cap, affect the map cap, and decay properly.

Reduce the damage radius as Jeknar suggested. This would make rams still a viable option, but would require good placement.

The bleeds and chills might not be such an issue if there weren’t so many being deployed. I’d like to see the first two changes made and then have a chance to re-evaluate. If that can’t be done, then I’d consider this a total failed experiment and complete removal should be the logical conclusion.

Yep, this kind of exploitation of the not-so-good programming put into this cannon was easy to spot within a few minutes of getting into wvw. One wonders why the devs either didn’t notice that, or maybe decided this was the “right” way to deploy this new item?

Either way this has become yet another nightmare in the long list.

imagine… the field is full of cannons… 30 of them all lined up with mastery on all. Hit the freeze bomb, then the next and the next… the zerg falls.. oh my… no that won’t happen but truly that’s an option for true trolls if they decide to get to having some real fun in this boring area.

lol… ah well Mylerian… what do ya do… seriously you didn’t expect something good did you? At least it’s something different, more range, maybe more damage than the ac’s… who knows… at the end of the day who cares because they will do what they want. Oh I used to take WvW seriously as a part of the game to really get into… now it is truly not much more than a lark. A little more intense at times than PvE but mostly boring blobsters or roaming aimlessly for a server I don’t even belong to.

nah you’re right… I stopped a thief with my ranger a few minutes ago in less than a minute… he was soloing T2 camps easily… but he didn’t last long when I got there… so I guess thief isn’t too bad anymore.. lol.. at least not that one!

and what’s cool is that people in your friend list that are on the enemy team can be generally located by BL. If they are on YOUR bl for example you can see that.. (IF you are a linked server member and not the host server member). Once again not well thought out by ANet I think… If I know one of my ‘friends’ is in a zerg and I see he has gone to a specific BL then I will know whether or not I should also go there.

It’s not an exploit or a hack.. it’s simply what ANet has allowed in their programming by making linked servers have NO home.

haaa.. finally something to really troll with… should be fun setting up cannons on high places and so on…. well, if we’re not going to get great changes to WvW at least we can have some fun for a while.. :P

Edit note: less health and less damage than normal cannons in keeps and towers… so they might be a lot like arrow carts… not that great.

Thief didn’t seem to receive a huge buff, other than a slight boost to venomshare. Im more surprised that Anet is ok with the idea of Warriors running around with perma-resistance

Not huge maybe… but more damage to a couple of skills… which I don’t think were needed. .. and yes you can see the duration of the venom has been reduced but so has the recharge rate… I’m sure it won’t make a huge difference but in this day when people are talking about how much damage thiefs can put out while in stealth it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me… but then again I’m not that sensible.. :P

Bound: The damage of this ability can now be triggered in midair or underwater.
Vital Shot: Increased damage by 15%.
Dancing Dagger: Increased damage by 20%.
Skelk Venom: The recharge time of this ability has been reduced from 40 seconds to 30 seconds. Its duration has been reduced from 30 seconds to 24 seconds.
Skale Venom: The recharge time of this ability has been reduced from 40 seconds to 30 seconds. Its duration has been reduced from 30 seconds to 24 seconds.
Spider Venom: The recharge time of this ability has been reduced from 40 seconds to 30 seconds. Its duration has been reduced from 30 seconds to 24 seconds.
Ice Drake Venom: The recharge time of this ability has been reduced from 40 seconds to 36 seconds. Its duration has been reduced from 30 seconds to 24 seconds.

it gets better… so now thiefs don’t just get MORE damage but they also get shorter recharge time on a bunch of their skills… well that’s just what they needed so they could take down people even faster while in stealth..
and before the ltp people start yapping… it’s not about that… anybody that knows a thief that has a good player controlling it also knows that it already puts out more than it should while in stealth….

I’m NOT trying to be a jerk when I ask this…

What about being in the “Danger Room” with Taimi was so hard?

I only did this with my main currently, which is a Vanilla Warrior(not with Berserker loaded). I think I was downed once when I dodged past an orb when trying to shut down the flame circles.

Or am I misunderstanding which part was the big challenge to everyone?

What professions are you guys having so much trouble with? Just curious as I bring my other toons up through the story.

Because now that guild influence is no more it doesn’t matter to a guild entity whether or not you rep. You used to get guild credits just for having members rep. Now it means nothing. It’s yet another way, along with megaserver, that ANet has damaged this game.

I’m a good scout and give good call outs but I’ve probably been blocked by half the people on my server for spamming the chat once. I don’t appreciate being called a troll when I’m not.

It’s funny how people seen to be able to read the chat to tell we are doing idle chatter but think it’s too hard to see the calls made on it. Honestly, I can see it all on chat with only gold sellers blocked.

lol, depending on the volume yes. Depending on the server you are on you may experience more volume than others. I don’t consider all chatterers trolls at all. But idle chat was actually never this prolific ’til after this global Team chat.

But, it is what it is and will remain that way obviously. Jeknar you rock for having a great filter… for me it’s too much to be running, fighting… and expect myself to be able to catch that one important callout amongst the other messages. Filtering my chat down to map and squad chat seems to work much better.. for me

I never see inappropriate comments in team chat. Maybe you should report those guys on your server or just block them.

You obviously are not on Maguuma, or linked with Mag… I have so many blocked that I have just given up again now and turned Team chat back off.. Truly not worth it.

For the most part suppression won’t work anyway. From what I’ve seen in the last day or so it’s a number of people chatting about everything and anything… some of it actually wvw related. It’s not one person entering multiple messages one after the other so a suppression filter could actually pick it up anyway.

I’m using Team Chat once again and blocking out the ones that appear to be “trolls” of the channel. Idle chat isn’t terrible if it’s slow moving. Lots of chat about nothing is a pain and results in blocking. Only takes a second or two to block.

As for the useful Team messages… it’s not too hard to tell quickly if you need to take a messages seriously… and of course I will use it when NEEDED to ask for help, providing all the info needed, etc..

Server Linking Discussion

All I know is that with the linking and constant change of our ‘partners’ my WvW Roaming alliance pretty much died… most of both guilds quit the mode because they did not like the almost constant large zergs.

For people that like the big fights, it’s great, but for us smaller scale players… meh.

Yes and it’s a sad thing that ANet will not make any changes in this regard. The smaller servers will continue to be moved from place to place as “filler” for the hosts. People will continue to drop off until all that’s left really are the ones that want to zerg/blob.

What this tells me is that is what ANet’s vision of WvW is. Not roaming groups, not small defense teams that can actually be effective now and then… but just blobs fighting blobs.

I’ve said it before… I used to spend at least 95% of my online time in WvW… now it’s more like 25% and dropping… I truly truly don’t have any investment in “protecting the land” anymore. It seems all anyone cares about is PPT and PPK. Meh, if all I want is to kill things period then PvE is always there… ugh… but it’s ok when friends are on to run with for fun.

add hide function for costumes shoulders too

I think the reason they don’t have the hide shoulders options is that the outfit is a continuous mesh/texture without anything underneath the shoulder portion. I could be wrong and they may have multiple layers

You can hide the head armor so no reason to not be able to hide the shoulder armor.

If they designed the outfits as single meshes with not under layers then no, the reason you can hide helm is there is no under layer for the helmet to begin with…..
