Do i understand it right the the OP wants to fight inflation with something that in
other MMOs always is the biggest source of inflation ?Don’t even know if i should laugh or cry.
Actually, OP wants to fight deflation.
Or that .. or whatever else .. hard to really get what he wants beside that he thinks
that a level increase would fix everything .. what of course is total nonsense.
Just relog in an old game that you played for years and where you had quite a lot
of money .. make 2-3 years pause .. relog and see that your money isn’t worth
anything anymore .. and you could also restart from scratch.
Reason : New levelcap mostly letts you earn 10 times more money than the old content and all prices skyrocket the same .. now if you missed 2 expansions its
maybe 10 * 10 = 100 times more

You have sound problems, but don’t post what kind of soundcard you use ?
Ever updated soundcard drivers ? Else maybe get a better card.
From the past i also remember that NVidia drivers had problems with SB-Live cards
what often has lead to bluescreens.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
My thoughts why we will maybe never get it :
- prices of yellow items / ectos crash down to maybe 10s
- T6 mats rise over 1 gold
In the end the Legendary will maybe be more expensive than before.

Huh. I never thought about stolen credit cards. They can buy, use and lose multiples of accounts without excessive cost to themselves as long as there isn’t a way for the card use to be tracked to the main business. That should be easy enough with a few precautions.
Not to forget that game developers earn no money on those and have a lot of
work and cost to ban the accounts and pay back the money to the legal owner
of the credit cards.
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na/achievements
All the Display names (account names are the email you use to login) and the approximately last time played so they can weed out active players from non players.
They might have some sort of macro based off the Leaderboards telling them when people log on.
I don’t see any email addresses there. The account names are NOT used to login.
However i also don’t like that we have our emails as login names, and would
prefer to use anything we want for that.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
In other games, people will say that you became more powerful because when you go to a low level zone you will blow up mobs just that much faster at the new cap.
In those other games those mobs however are also grey and drop no loot and give
no exp .. and the only reason to kill them there is if you finish old quests maybe.
However i also often enjoyed doing heritage quests in EQ2 solo when i was quite
some level above them.

What I would like to know is how they get our account names.
and some more that still don’t understand scam :

-Shadows: Pretty taxing. From “Ultra” to “High”, I gained 10-15 fps, depending on the area.
Is there any MMO where shadows are not one of things that eat the most FPS ?
At least i remember it from EQ2 and RIFT.

-What ever will people do if we don’t have a level cap raise!?-
… You know, play the game without having their gear become outdated? This is my problem with other MMO expansions; stop making the gear I worked my kitten off (or sometimes not?) out of date because of some silly idea we need to keep gaining levels to get more powerful. That’s so wrong. We can gain power through new skills/traits/weapons, and raising the level cap would make the extremely grindy ascended gear out of date. Can you imagine the nerd rage if they announced a level cap?
Not to forget that we never get really more powerful, since all the mobs of course
also are more powerfull, and in the end we just are at the same point where we
were before.
And if we indeed get more powerful, there will be masses of people crying that
everything is too easy and we should be nerfed .. or mobs should get harder.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I love how whenever something is hard, it’s clearly not a problem with the player; they’re just being punished for not choosing a better playstyle. Right??
So is it “better playstyle” in this case, when i just overwrite my stacking sigill with
5% more damage and 7% more critchance ?
And i really did that .. however thx god i don’t do dungeons, because then it would
be “bad playstyle” maybe to use those sigills, and i have to overwrite them again.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
They block them as soon as they are reported. What more can they do? It is not their fault that accounts got compromised.
I haven’t seen a “compromised account” selling gold in a long time. This most recent deluge has all been random letters for the account name.
Just look at all the posts here of people who still don’t get it with the actual scam mail,
even if there stand “This is from another player and not from ANet” at the bottom.
I really can’t get whats so hard to understand there .. but thats one of the reason
why its so easy for the goldspammers to have new accounts .
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
PS : By the way, “signet of bloodlust” are bugged cause they won’t never stack in scenarios.
There was a thread about this. Apparently these mobs and the ones in the Vinewrath don’t give exp. That means all the ‘on kill’ sigils, traits, runes, food, etc. don’t work. Pets with Master’s Bond also don’t gain points and get stronger.
I noticed this in the Vinewrath lanes. My ranger got there with no bloodlust. After killing awhile I noticed I still didn’t have a stack. I checked my pet, no Master’s Bond.
This new system badly effects anything that depend on activation upon kill which might be why some people are having unexpected problems.
Its not a new system .. it is really old and you already had that for example at
Claw of Jormag event .. however its not such a big problem there as it is if you
are in those solo instances having to kill hordes and hardes of mobs, and
finally some overpowered endmobs .. and simply don’t get your stacks and
your traits don’t trigger.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I have often thought the same after the trait changes and then the NPE.
They really made so much levels now obsolet and totally unrewarding because there
is nothing you get to see a little progress, that they could really remove all those levels
and in the end we would have something around 20.
However if they just remove them, then maybe every level would take 4 times as
long as before and so there is even less feeling of progression.
Especially getting more stats now in batches only every x level was really the most
stupid thing in my oinion .. after the trait thing.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
the actual engine of the game allows me to play up to 180 FPS,with extremes to 220 FPS, showing the engine isn’t that bad. it is the amount of data stacking up cumulatively
Hmm .. shure that the main problem is not simply the CPU-Power that is needed
to render all the different character with all those different armor models ?
However .. hard to test without having an offline version of the games with masses
of NPCs.

A level cap raise would kill the game for a whole lot of people. I don’t think ArenaNet wants to do that.
Yeah normally you should think so .. however .. sometimes i have the feeling ANet
likes it to see the forums go up in flames for whatever reasons.

Could also be a problem of thermal paste .. i remember i forgot to put thermal paste
on my fan for my first dual-core, because i was used to fans that had the paste
directly on their bottom.
And then i wondered whe EQ2 ran worse than with my old single core.
Temperatur on windows desktop was maybe 60 .. and went up to 112 as soon as
i launched the game o.O

Look into your crash.txt (or post it here) how many memory is used by GW2, i assume
you maybe hit the critical value of around 3,6 GB where a 32-Bit client crashes.
Try to set character limit and quality to a lower value so that less memory is used.

wow, alot of people really dont want anything to happen to their precious ascended gear o.o…….I got some ascended, would like to see the level cap aswell, honestly dont want to run throug it all without any reason what so ever, what is the point of having new maps if already are level capped? people will just try to run them as fast as they can….
PLEASE A-NET lvl cap raise…………
If people don’t want to do the new maps, they won’t do them anyway? They will just use level tomes or run EotM. Also, Silverwastes and Drytop are level-cap zones. And yet people go there. Even in other MMOs like WoW that have frequent level cap raising, many people just run old dungeons together to speed level to the new max.
problem is that they are not encouraged to do them, they simply do them out of boredom or “unique events” I want to be encouraged to dungeons because of gold etc, I want to be encouraged to actually see what is in that part of map…. Yes I do understand that there might also be a map completion in the new expansion, but in all honesty, it feels more of a grind than actually exploring, like when I saw the cities for the first time, or when I hear what they are saying……..As soon as I got lvl 80 I mainly skipped all the hard work gw2 did because I literally didnt need it…..and also because people encourage you to run through things
(I came a little late to the game, so I haven’t seen all dungeons intros etc).
What you call “encouraged” i call “forced”.
Encouraged for me means that the zones are interesing and thats the reason you
go there. Forced is you have to go there no matter if you like them, just because
else you are not able to level.
However, that simply doesn’t work here, since you can level to 80 even in the
starting areas.

I have some outfits, and use them mainly when leveling a new character and also
on my 2 Asuras.
However, i really wish we would also get again some real armor sets. I think we didn’t
even got one new set in the shop since we got the wardrobe .. only outfits after that.
That somehow as schizophrenic as that we got the possibility to change traits now
everywhere for free .. but that new characters simply didn’t have those traits to test with.

Games used to be about challenge. People didnt complain about games being too difficult back then as it was normal to force players to improve.
And then there are people, that really think that games are about having fun.
But in MMOs there always are those people that think a game has to be “hard work”
and that killing a hard mob in an MMO is just the same as climbing Mount Everest.

It would be browser/page dependent. If it is on the box on the bottom of the thread it doesn’t stay. If it is on the reply/quote page it will remain at least in Firefox.

Does the computer just simply shuts down as if you pull the power plug .. or does it
reboot ?
If it reboots aktivate that Windows doesn’t automatically reboots on errors, so that
you see a blue screen, if there is one.
Else its mostly that your power supply gets old and shuts down when it is not able
to generate enough power.

Try also to limit your FPS to 60 .. running at 100+ FPS sometimes only makes your GPU

I support the idea of raising lvl cap. Would be nice to get more trait points. But I think the max gear should be kept the same and require lvl 80 to use.
The number 14 is in no way connected to the number 80 afaik .. so its possible to
give us more traitpoints if max level is still 80 .. or even if they set the max level
down to 20.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
In the end you can simulate what a new level cap brings by yourself :
-delete all your armor, weapons and trinkets .. and give all your gold to some friends.
-start over again regearing your character

Throwing down random numbers from other game doen’t help much. You are not saying what is the normal boss hp, how long it takes to kill, etc. Also most other games have a healer and a tank, so the dps is doing only/mostly dps.
You can hit 100 times more but if the boss hp is 1000 times higher it doens’t matter. Pure numbers from other games are vague.
Makes more sense to ask yourself how long does it take for a character of the same lvl of the instance and same gear lvl to kill the boss.
Wow .. i think with level 50 i had maybe 6.000 HPs .. and it had doubled to 12.000 at
80 .. so that was something like 33% more all 10 levels .. but now … what the hell
has happend ? And can a maxlevel now one-shot raid-bosses from lower levels ?

Worst idea ever .. and has been discussed already 1000 of times.
Just remember that people could be instant new max level with level-up tomes, and
then they can trash all their ascended gear just to grind again for the next gear.
I prefer to grind for new skins because they are not obsolet like gear with stats,
whenever there comes something new.

GW2 is the only game I’ve seen where critical chance can approach 100%
every champion in league of legends can hit ~90%, one champion has double critical chance so he can reach cap with a lot less investment in to his build
EQ2 soft cap on critical chance is 1400%
GW2 is the only game I’ve seen where critical damage exceeds 200% of base damage
critical strikes in league do 200% damage unless you buy an item which boosts it to 250% base
EQ2 base damage 839 after modifiers is 2,500,000
GW2 is the only game I’ve seen where a temporary damage buff (Might, in this case) could/can approach the base damage of a max level character (Note: that’s the buff benefit by itself, not factoring in the synergistic benefits of critical chance/damage)
i’m pretty sure like every single game ever has builds where you can wildly exceed the base damage of a character with buffs. In league you can like double, triple, quadruple (etc.) your damage stats through damage buffs by items. baron buff used to give 40 attack damage/40 ability power which is like half of your base attack damage and I can’t remember how much the ability power is because I forgot lol
EQ2 Damage output with temporary buffs can reach up to 35,000,000 damage per second average
maybe you just need to play some more games
Seriously QFE, GW2 is probably one of the lowest dps games i’ve played and the builds are simple.

WTF have they done to that game after i left when Rok was the latest expansion ?
I just saw a while ago that with level 95 characters now had 900.000 HPs .. while i with
level 80 hat 12.000 at that time.

I don’t think the want people freely map hopping.
For one, if I remember correctly, regular resources nodes are map specific, so it would be far easier to hit up what you need by clearing a map and then moving to the next one.
Is still possible to some point .. but was much better of course before the mega-server
where you always had 3 zones of a map, while now often there are is just 1
instance of a zone .. especially later at night.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Also, change the event requirement since it’s really frustrating to run way out to a zone, only to find that the event you need isn’t up and won’t be for a long time.
This is soooo annoying ! And when the event is up, noone is there! Yay! Also those Eternal Battleground traits really suck too.
Yepp … they really should use events that are at least soloable. I remember when a
member of my old guild wanted to try that thing in Lornas Pass .. i think he wasted
1-2 hours there and didn’t even got to the final step of the questline with the champ
because he already failed before that twice.
In the end he finally took my advice to just buy it.

At level 50+ Dredgehaunt cliffs are great for killing yellow mobs. You can really run
a big circle around the zone where you constantly have spots with dolyaks, moas
and other yellow mobs, and when you have completed the route the first mobs
again have nearly full bonus exp. With 100% birthday booster, killstreak booster and food i make around 4 levels there
per hour i think. They are back to full XP bonus that fast? Show me the route pleaze?
I said “nearly” … not back to 100% full.
You can also kill the ice elementals at the bottom part of the route, they also are
seldem killed even if they are not yellow.

Also have you ever tried to unlock all weapon skills on an elementalist before the NPE ?

Of course .. the trait changes are still bad .. but they were not part of the NPE.

Yeah I’ve not been a fan of personal story and LS since the sept patches where kills in the story don’t count as actual kills for stacking sigils, and effects like guardian virtues recharging on kills.
Never did it with a guardian, but i’m sure especially that would annoy me to hell if i can’t spam F1 all the time when i have to deal with masses of mobs.

Backing up Vayne here, if you see what people are willing to pay for convenience ( endless mining picks/harvesters/woodchoppers, royal passes, endless salvage kits…) this is exactly the reason people are also willing to pay more for a bank tab.
Yeah .. for me also convience is very important.
I have meanwhile maxed my bank, and have 17 endless mining picks, and 11 or 12

Look here as an example :
http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Cap
And i don’t want to know what now is possible for damage with all that double-attack stuff.
I also remember that there was a time when characters even had reached nearly 100%
avoidance or blockchance and were nearly invulnerable, so that was also nerfed hard
with the next expansions and “normal” characters suddenly went down from maybe
80% to just 50%.

I’m confused.
Sometimes I see my GS Skill 2 hit for 30K or Pistol Whip hit for 20K.
How much damage am I actually doing per hit ?How can I tell how much damage I’m actually doing if these numbers are cumulative?
I’m confused can you explain this stuff to me?
That question is ironic .. isn’kitten
Nonetheless i answer : just look into the combat log .. also pistol whip has 9 hits
so one hit would more or less do 20k/9 .. or if you see 1000 – 2200 – 3500 on the
screen the first did 1000 .. the second 1200 and the third 1300 ..
Really so complicated ? (i still hope it was ironic)
