Just harvest all copper and iron and whatever and sell it, and a new player can make a lot more money then we could made when the game startet.
It was even hard to have the 10s for the first traitbook at level 10 in the beginning, now harvest 2-3 copper nodes or whatever and you already have it.

Stat increase is about 5%, but often overlooked is the ~5% increase in armor and weapon-damage of Ascended armor and weapons.
Its mostly not even 1% in stats if you look at your total stats and not only compare it to exotic.
For example, a character with main-stat STR has normally around 2000 STR, a full set of ascended armor gives +15 (? or maybe 17) more STR, so thats not even 1%
With the old Crit-Damage we got +1% more crit-damage. For a zerker with 100% that was also 1% more.
So personally for me it is absolutely not worth the 500-700g or whatever it costs, as long as there are any nice skins out there that i don’t have
Weapons however i made a lot for nearly all my alts, since they at least bring 5% more damage for “just” 50 gold or whatever.

That being said, discussions of gold selling are not allowed, nor creating posts to dispute moderation. Those topics will get threads removed and/or closed.
What if we instead just talk about “annoying persons” that send us whispers we don’t want to see ? Is only the G***S***** word the problem, since all these threads in the end just are discussions about suggestions how to improve the chat so you don’t have to see whispers from annoying persons, and not really about the gold selling.

Yet there are those intent on removing all choice and limiting things based on their belief system.
The OP clearly states he has no problems with other people wearing skimpy armor and does not want those removed.
Did anybody bother to read the post?
The OP also states that he has never really looked at all the available outfit, or just showing the face means already “skimpy” to him.
Especially if you look at medium armor most of them covers everything, and even light armor there is more full body covering armor than what i would call skimpy.
Or of course that 5-10% is simply “way too much” for him, and not only maybe over 50%.

That aside, considering gems are purchasable which can be instantly converted to gold, the whole premise of “newly generated money” via dungeons being a bad thing is rendered completely moot. In half a minute I can spend $10.00 at the gemstore and convert that to ~70g.
Totally wrong .. the gold is not generated out of thin air, you just get the gold that some other people pay to buy gems, and even there a part of that gold is removed from the economy.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Also, champ coin drop has been greatly nerfed, most of the time you only get 1s and some change now, every once in a while you’ll get 7s+.
Yeah .. last time i killed the Troll in FGS i got 1s22c, 3 Bloodstone and a green item.
And even John Smith has said before the last nerf, that running the train is by far not a good way to make money.
Would be interesting to hear some numbers from John here btw.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Dungeon rewards are fine, if you take an average group say it takes them 10-15 mins per path, allowing for errors etc, you can run say, AC p1/2, hotw P1, CoF P1,2 in say 90 mins, this would get you about 5-7gold + drops
Thats however 5-7 new generated gold, thats the problem.
Do the FGS train, and you have maybe 1g as new generated gold in that time +drops, maybe even less now. The last time i did the train was before the last nerf, and there i had made 2g30s pure gold after 4 hours.
And there are also not 1000s of people do the train. In EU we have normally maybe 2-3 instances now of FGS .. all in all i would say there are maybe 100-200 people doing the train at the main time.

My personal opinion is that NVidia just release crappy drivers all day long, Each time i had tried an NVidia card i had spent days testing different driver versions until i found the one with the lowest bugs. Had to go over 10 numbers back until i got rid of the Bluescreens i had constantly in Age of Conan on 64-Bit Vista at that time.

I can’t even believe what I just read.
Dungeon running can barely make a fraction of the profit TP players can..
You understand however that TP flipping actually removes gold from the market, while only dungeons create a lot of money out of thin air ? That is the real problem for inflation, not how many anybody earns from selling stuff to others.
So it would for example be better if a dungeon gives instead of 1 Gold 3-4 T6 mats of choice. At the moment that would be even more than 1g if you sell them but it wouldn’t create new gold.

It doesn’t utilize more than 2GB of RAM, doesn’t support 64-bit…..something that has been standard for a while now.
Thats not correct. It is compiled with Large Memory Aware and so can use at least 4 GB on a 64-Bit OS.
Its just crashing all the time on 32-Bit systems that only support 2 GB as soon as it want more.
Else i also haven’t seen any MMO with a real 64-Bit client, so i don’t know what is “standard” for you. Only AION should have had an unoffical version for a while i’ve read, but that was also never official released.

I just looked at my history, it was 17 days ago when i bought Kudzu, at that time i was down to 640g, now i’m again at 1360, so thats over 700g in 17 days, and that was mainly with harvesting Iron, Platinum, Ori, Ancient Wood, Lemongrass and farming Arctodus for T6 mats.
So there are still ways to farm even solo without following trains, only thing you need is to have some alts for harvesting

It’s the same with the giveaways to gem-buyers. The ‘we love you more’ don’t mind this game is sold as B2P not F2P still we love you gem-buyers more. And good job helping to destroy the game.. Keep up the good work because you know, we love your more. And now advertisements in your face in a B2P game. Extremely rude.
Oh come on .. really ? Do you also complain that you never get free drinks in a bar or restaurant where you never give any tips, while the regular guests that always give good tips gets sometimes maybe a free drink ?

I’ll never play hardcore mode because you could be the best player in the world and can never die by your own hand, but the moment you DC because of internet issues or server side issues, you are screwed to the bone.
I could accept dying by my own stupidity, but not to anything else.
I must say that at least in the case of disconnects GW2 was really very good till now, have never died because of that. But else, even since so many people always tell how “easy” everything is, you can die here much faster than in most other MMOs.
At the moment i really really hate the problems with falling damage while running down stairs or hills where you really shouldn’t take any damage.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
If I die before I hit level 80, I delete my character and start over. I also restrict myself to a maximum of two crafting professions per character, just to keep it challenging.
My last character died at level 46 (messed up on a vista), so I started over yesterday. I’m currently at level 34, and I’m hoping that this one will make it!
Does anyone else do this? If so, how far have you gotten, and what’s your favorite class?
I don’t delete my characters, but i try at least to avoid dying as much as possible, and hate any single death especially if it happens to unfair one-hitshot mechanisms, or like some day ago through bugged falling damage while just running down a small hill that i could jump down without getting much damage at all.
So far only 3 of my 12 80s have however reached the 80 with 0 deaths.

Because they want you to use the cash shop. I’ve been saying this for months.
They don’t care if you use the cash shop, or somebody else, because every gem you exchange for gold was once bought with cash.
Yepp .. and also everybody who DON’T wants to pay real money should be happy if they bring other people to buy gold for gems, because that gives us better conversion rates if we want to change gold for gems.
That the rate gold→gems gets worse all day only means that not enough people actually buy gold for gems.
Also i think that the conversion rate has simply grown with the amount of money i can make.
When i bought my first endless gaterhing tools the cost was around 25-30 gold i think, however at that time i made 2-3g/h. Now they cost 100g but i also make 6-9g/h, so in the end i must farm not much longer now to get one.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
The numbers on channeled skills now simply add up as long as you maintain that skill.
If you see 100k you just have done 100k damage in total. In the end its not really different than before where you have also already seen the numbers add up for some seconds, and 1000, 2000, 3000 also was never 6000 but only 3000 in total.

Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
In the lodestone example above, the people pre-patch who stumbled across a lodestone and didn’t need it were only getting 2 g for it. Post-patch, when they stumble across a lodestone they don’t need, they get 4 g from it.
What lodestones are you talking about ? Before champ bags we were happy when we get 1-2 corrupted because they were worth 1g70s maybe, after champ bags they dropped to 70s.
Also farming normal mobs in Frostgorge for T6 mats gave me maybe 2-3g per hour before, now i can make 7-8g maybe.
The same happened at that time when they also gave us ascended weapons, that suddenly i could make 8-10g/h with harvesting wood and herbs, and it went even up to 12-15g sometimes at the first Queens Palace event when Rosemary could be sold for 12-16s a while.
So, i support what here was said:
You honestly think prices in TP are high because of gem->gold conversion rather then farming? because if we look like say dawn, in january 2013 it was being sold for 420g. In August 2013 it was being sold for 480. A rise of 40g in 6 months. Okey. Then Champion rewards got introduced and farming started. In 1 month price reached 622g to reach 1000g today. Gem to Gold exchange has been there since launch why did prices start to increase right the month after champions rewards where boosted?
We had a farmer say that after the nerf they still make 7g per hour. I dont farm and make maybe 25s per hour if even. Do you honestly think that removing gem to gold exchange would change anything for non-farmers?
Before the champ bags and Queens Palace only FZ speedrunners were able to make 8g/h, after that there were suddenly a lot of other ways to get that much money, and there still are even now. The only difference is that all those ways don’t produce new gold, like champ bags and dungeons, but instead remove gold from the economy since you have to sell the stuff you gather on the TP to make your money.

Personally i would even more like to see that the whispers of someone i have blocked also are removed from the chat. Alright, might I inquire about which large-scale multiplayer game you have developed?
Oh come on … have you even read the starter posting ? That makes the whole thread simply to a joke, and no try to hijack that with some other ideas would people take it serious.
We can of course now try to talk serious about programming, and how many experience you, or even more important the OP has with programming, so that he can say that perfect balance is easy to achieve. I did’nt expect such polarized answers to come out of this,
For the people against any form of limited items/prestige items, what motivates you to play the game?
Make my characters look “good” in my eyes, instead of running around like a clown just to show of my “prestige” items.

There are still a lot of farmspots like that, however the difference is that those can’t be zerged, so that you can solo farm or maybe duo, but it is not possible that 50 persons can get all loot there from the same mob.
Also .. DR doesn’t work on crafting mats, so you can safely farm those spots for 10 hours and still will get T5 /T6 mats, only drops of weapons/armor get less after a while.
And RNG is of course also a factor .. i often look what i’ve got after farming 30 minutes mobs for blood/claws/fangs and it could be something from 1-12. I also still think that MF doesn’t affect crafting mats, since i don’t get really more now with 180% MF than i got last year with 70% when farming the same mobs.
10-15g sounds however nice, i get more like 6-8 maybe .. but i also hate underwater
And of course, the same spot gave me only 2-3g last year, since it doesn’t generate gold but only gives you money when selling the items to other players, so the money is directly affected by current TP prices and also removes money from the game.

I was disappointed with this change as well. I used to look forward to my AP chests, but now it’s about as exciting as opening a champ bag…. in other words… not at all.

This is exactly why i always am against all those ideas from people that want hardmodes and that some items are only available at some special places, and not everything can be bought via gold.
THIS is exactly what happens if the devs listen to them, and thats how it works out.

I believe someone somewhere worked out that a full suit of berserker ascended armour, for example, had a stat boost above exotic equivalent to an extra ruby orb. Which is to say, really minimal.
Yeah, it would maybe just compensate for some of the points i loose because i prefer traveller runes instead of Ruby-Orbs .. and that already shows that i really don’t care that much about some minimal stats more or less

That normally can have 2 reasons.
1. You get a bluescreen, but your windows is configured to automatic reboot, so disable that option first, and look if you get a bluescreen now instead. In that case we need to know what the bluescreen shows you.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/automatic-restart-windows-7.htm
2. Your power supply is bad / has not enough power and simply leads to a restart under high load.

All for it, too. Anything that makes Living Story & Open world stuff less zergy.
I can’t imagine playing GW2 just for the loot and profit margins. There are a lot of other games better suited for that.
If they want to make stuff less zergy, then they should just make again events that don’t make you need to kill mobs with millions of hps. Just again something like all the early stuff in the LS where you had to do some tasks in the open world that als could be soloed.
But making zerg events with no loot makes no sense at all since i doubt anyone likes zergs that much.
