The solution has always been to make the aqua breathers cosmetic so the stats and rune come from the helmet. Asking players to make more ascended items with more runes is just asking for time and money loss for no benefit.
Very much this. Since we actually can’t even disable the visibility of them i would also have no problem with removing them complete and just use the helmet all time.

First i wouldn’t install games under program files .. the rights there are often a little strange .. better create a new folder like c:\games or d:\games or whatever, and move your gw2 there.
Else .. no need for new install .. as a 32-bit application GW2 can use a maximum of 4GB memory under a 64-bit OS .. while 2 GB was max under 32-bit.

Duels and Cantha are most desired content we ware waiting for and those that dont like it are just minority.
No they aren’t. People asking for those are just minority.
Why dont you go then and look how many views and comments Cantha tread has? I dont even want to talk about numbers of treads made for dueling.Stop been selfish people.Dueling wont hurt anyone.
last time i saw a thread like this about 80% were against duels, the reason why you don’t see “remove duels” threats because it isn’t in PvE.
if it was, i can guarantee that allot of players would leave the game permanently, apparently it does hurt someoneWell i played WOW,AION,and at least 10 more MMORPG games and no1 ever left cause of duels
.But i know that many people did left GW2 cause of lack of duels and 1 of them is my brother. This is only MMORPG game that i know that has no open world (pk) or duels in open world at all.It was only thing that was backing me off from buying this game. But what lacks here…Everquest Next will have.Too bad that Anet always learns too late.
Yeah .. because i left AION of course because all the ganking and griefing from open World PvP that of course is much worse than duelling since there is no way at all to decline it.
However that game is the main reason i never again want to have to play a game where i am confrontated with PvP in any way in the open world.

I like how most people in this topic are criticizing the Anet speaker for linking them to another site in which they can choose to find things.
That’s like getting mad at a dog because you threw its ball over a fence. Do some digging, it just sounds like you guys are feeling entitled for hints about new, relatively hidden content.
So you like it when you want to find information about a product, that you don’t find it on their own webpage but instead someone tells you to got to Facebook where you are find a linkk to Twitter, however you don’t understand how twitter works, so you don’t find anything relevant there, but after using google for an hour you finally find out that you need to go to Tumbler or whatever ?

I mean I play Lotro, an 8 year old game and it has an amazing weather effects. Lightning storms, thunderstorms, heavy rain that last for hours on end, soft rain with sunrays shining thru, snow storms/blizzards etc.
I hated it most of the time since i simply got headaches after hours of rain, or fighting in a snowstorm where you barely saw an enemy even in melee range.
So i really hope they don’t get over the top with it.

I farm a lot in Dredgehaunt Cliffs, so all my character have some keys in their inventory, however it makes no sense to have them in you bank, especially since they are soulbound and you can’t use them on other characters.

In Dredgehaunt Cliffs there are quite some quick events where you only need to kill just a veteran, however since Megaserver they are often done by others now.

I think, judging from the last of content in the last 6 months, that since EOTM the map developers are working on GW3 which according to rumors may be using the Unreal engine.
Where did you hear about GW3? Or are these just rumours with no basis?
No they really bought 2 license of the unreal 3 engine. Google it.
NCSoft bought them, not ANet. And NCSoft already used Unreal for Lineage 2, and they also used CryEngine for AION .. so that has nothing at all to do with Guildwars.

Just be carefull not to put upgrades into the items with a character that should not use them, since that makes them soulbound. There is also a warning popup, but people often simply don’t read it.
Ascended items however stay accountbound now after the feature patch, but still i would always first give the item to the character that will use it, and then put the upgrades in.

i always found it strange that necro dagger doesn’t cleave.
as the OP said, every other profession has the ability to cleave in melee (and most of them are alot more powerful than necro dagger attacks).Necro dagger is one of the highest DPS in the game, so not really.
no, no with an extra helping of NO.
compare it to warrior greatsword damage for example,
the warrior will deal a hell of a lot more damage and his attacks cleave.Per-hit, true, but necro dagger attacks so much faster that it does have the superior DPS.
Greatsword is bad at auto-attack. Better compare necro dagger with warrior axe.
Else i would also like some way to simply transform our staff into a melee-scythe with cleave on auto-attack since we already have the visuals that makes a staff look a little like a scythe.

When they started with DR it was when everybody did tunnel events in Orr and we just sold all the green and blue trash to NPCs and mobs there only dropped bones that were worth nothing, and everyone was happy earning 2g per hour
These days people seem to have forgotten how much less money we made those days, and whenever they think its not enough they make DR responsible, even if they don’t know how it really works.
Else i have noticed that they have changed DR recently. I was leveling a new character, and before Megaserver i chain-farmed 2 events in Dredgehaunt on 3 servers until DR kicked in. When i logged out after that for 1 hour or so, i could normally start again farming maybe an hour.
This time logging out didn’t work. Also the DR kicked in much slower than before, where i got maybe 10,000 exp for the event and suddenly only 300. Now i got 10.000 after a while i got 8.000 and a while later 6.000 .. and then i suddenly asked myself .. hm … haven’t i got more a while ago ?
Then i did 2-3 events in another zone, went back to Dredghaunt, got 10.000 first time, and directly less the next time and so on.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
There is NO DR on farming mats. DR only applies to weapons and armor drops and to exp and karma from events.
I have farmed Arctodus in Frostgorge for maybe 8-10 hours once, and noted the number of T6 mats after each 30 minutes, and in the end it was more or less the same even after 10 hours.

Think about it for a sec. What other elements in the game generate more out of nothing other than dungeon.
Open world. I bet that vendored common drops generate way, way more gold than dungeons. Especially seeing as dungeons are being run by only a small minority of players, and everyone does open world content of some kind.
Before the MF changes, when i still vendored all the trash i found, i made maybe something like 50s / h from that when i farmed one hour mobs in frostgorge for T6 mats.
However .. i wished that thread had been opened in the BLTC Forum, since then maybe John Smith would have to say something, since he has the numbers.

Think about it for a sec. What other elements in the game generate more out of nothing other than dungeon.
I thought about it. It didn’t take long.
World bosses. Stand in one place at a pre-determined time, press 1 repeatedly, win rewards. Rewards that generally add up to 1-2 gold or even more if you get an exotic or highly valued rare. And all can be done in about 15 minutes and in many cases, much less.
Nerf everything! Everything is killing the economy! The economy is killing the economy! Kill it!
Whats so hard to understand what new generates Gold is ?? Even if the boss drops a precursor the new generated Gold is only 1s20c or whatever is in the bag.
The precursor is mostly sold at the TP and will even remove some Gold from the economy.
In the end the inflation is however not really relevant for traders and people that farm materials, since the mats get more worth with the time because everyone has more money .. the funny thing is that at some point the fixed money from dungeons will maybe bring then people to cry that dungeons don’t give enough.
I mean .. people are already constantly crying about T6 blood .. but i hope that it will reach 1g at one point because then i can start to laugh at everyone that things : just run dungeons and buy everything from the gold you get there.

I believe this may be a troll thread (no offense) but what evidence is there that Dungeon gold is “killing the economy?” Because someone thinks so it is so? Seems like a post to stir up Dungeon lovers for its own sake, OR someone begrudging others the way they have chosen to enjoy the game.
I actually have not seen huge shifts in the economy for a while, though perhaps I am not buying as much as of late. Mats seem to be stable-“rare” mats still priced as expensive as they used to be, and more common mats according to the “Ascended demand”. Globs of ectoplasm have been priced similarly for many months by now, for instance.
Can u name me another other source gold being directly inject into the economy other than dungeon that can generate up to 5g+ a hour per person out of no where, just by running 4 ez path.
Buying gems with real currency and converting those gems into gold.
Touché.
Wrong. This does NOT create new gold, it only shifts gold from people who buy gems for gold to those who buy gold with gems, while also destroying a part of the gold.
Its the very same like selling stuff at the AH doesn’t create gold.

These weren’t suggestions silvermember. I’m making fun of the notion brought up time and time again that raking in money on the TP is somehow unfair to those that “play the game”.
The countless threads wanting more ways to filter the not LEET from joining your party. The threads complaining that you can’t sell your loot on the TP fast enough to get back to your next speedrun/boss train stop. The threads that insist that the most desirable items should only be dropped from the hardest content so only those “worthy” can get them. The threads asking for super tough content. The threads asking for mounts to show off on. The threads on how the new wardrobe devalues legendary weapons allowing them to be skinned onto lesser weapons over and over again. The threads complaining how expensive it is now to get free gems to buy exclusive skins.
They all dovetail together into a picture of a player who is upset that the game is unfair to the talented player, by allowing the untalented (in their eyes) to succeed. A player who values their appearance as a way to establish their skill who gets upset because others can achieve it without the same dedication.
Maybe this goes back to WoW style repetitive raiding until you “put in your dues” and get a full set of BIS for your character, thereby establishing this notion between BIS gear and ability level. If people can buy BIS gear, or the look of BIS gear, that destroys this notion. This leads to wanting to see AP, gear stats, trait picks, etc of other players because you can’t simply look at and judge. It leads to threads where players are upset that other players are earning more doing activities that they see as not core gameplay, ie bopping things on the head.
And some of these notions have popped up in this thread as well. That wealth is “unfairly” distributed across the player base. That it’s the wealthy’s fault that prices go up and that gems cost so much now. And how did they get so wealthy? Well it must be because they are filthy flippers who control the market and ratchet prices up just to see if they can. “Burn him, he’s a flipper!” hysteria.
I’m neither LEET or a flipper. I simply enjoy playing an hour or two and I feel that I earn enough for what I want. I’m patient. I place bids if I want something or price my own sell orders to sell off the night’s haul. 99.9% of everything sells in 24 hours and I’m earning 10-20% on top of those who sell to highest bidder. These are observations from reading this and the GW2 Discussion board.
I’m not suggesting fixes because I don’t see a problem. If the price spikes the first thing I check is it’s chart to see what supply and demand did. I don’t call every bubble inflation. Is there inflation? Yes. But it’s not what’s happening 9 out of 10 times someone drops that word.
+10 to that.
I’m so sick and tired of the people here that seem to want another EQ-Style game here where only 0,5% of the player can get the currently best items so that they can show up how leet they are .. and of course (even if they always say they are not interested in non-raid content) can farm all lower content waaaaay much better.
I’m somebody who really play a lot, but since i simply hate raiding i was always somebody who simply “hasn’t earned it” to get the better stuff.
I came to GW2 exactly for the reason that i can get here best armor and most skins without beeing forced to do raids in any way. And i really wish all these elitist kinds of players would leave and go to Wildstar or whatever instead of bringing the devs to give us things like ascended and Teq 2.0

Why have some people always such problems when others asking for a little more quality of life ? Especially since this thing here also makes a lot of work for the support it should also be in ANets interest to change it, or make it easier to spot.
I bet you also have flamed everyone who asked for a wardrobe or account bound dyes before the feature patch, since that all were such “stupid” things to want.
Or if people want more search option in the TP .. oh my god .. can’t you read and find whats light, medium or heavy armor ? Only “stupid” people will ever need such filters ..

More probably they are here because they have played other MMOs, and experienced unique items. As such they understand what unique means in the context of the genre. It is common knowledge to them, and therefore it should fall under common sense to make use of it.
So .. what other MMOs are you talking of ?
I played Lineage2, EQ2, AoC, RoM, AION, RIFT for example, and in none of them exists something like that.
And if unique really means they are so unique the NPC shouldn’t even have a second for sale. Or to go one step further there maybe shouldn’t even be more than one available in the whole world.
Hmm… I guess I don’t mean those. That is a very eclectic group of MMOs that no one cares about, so nice name drops. The last time I ran into a Unique item was in TOR before I left for GW2.
Unique, in the context of MMOs, meaning you can only use one. Sometimes you means you can only possess one. That’s all it needs to means. But I agree with the suggestion I’m deciding you’re making. We should remove ascended gear from the Laurel vendors and force everyone to acquire them a different way. Then there wouldn’t be any problems with people trying to buy two of the same unique item, because there wouldn’t be any to buy at all.
It is maybe that way in the meaning of SWTOR then, but not in general in the meaning of MMOs.
Scroll also down here to the “unique” level 44 dagger .. oh .. the Guy wields 2 of them.
