For mobile? I can’t see it really happening at all, even less the tribulation mode.
Also they probably didn’t trademark the SAB by itself, but as a content inside the game it is protected by the GW2 copyright.

And on top of all that, the loot really sucks, so there is nothing to worry at all.
If you got near the chest you’ll have the achievement, and the vista is really close if I remember correctly, so you got everything, the chest is just a tiny flavor.

Yes, that is what I mean with “specific” and “ideal” scenarios.
GS against many targets and in many PvE situations (where AI is kinda dumb) you can easily land hilt + maul, in 1v1 fights sword is superior for sure.
LB you need distance, you can’t rely on RF all the time, so GS is the 2nd best power weapon to have in general, and IMO the best burst you can have (DPS =/= burst, just to be clear)
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
- Sword have better DPS and allow you to an off hand weapon, but GS have close enough damage and is way less clunky to use, pick your poison.
17% dps difference =/= close enough
On ideal scenario it is 17%, I agree, but overall that difference is lower and in specific cases GS outdamage sword.
All in all GS is VERY viable in any power build, for pvp, pve and wvw.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes there are many threads about it, but resuming:
- Yes it is totally viable.
- Sword have better DPS and allow you to an off hand weapon, but GS have close enough damage and is way less clunky to use, pick your poison.

I thought they did a sequal bit called Guild Wars beyond. It bridges the gap between Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2.
This might be what you are looking for.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_BeyondIt was meant to be an ’’expansion’’ and it was cancelled.
What do you mean exactly?
I played GW Beyond. Maybe you mean that was supposed to be an expansion but in the end was released as free content?
EDIT: Yes Utopia was the canceled one and instead the GW2 started to be projected and GW:EotN to be made.

Oh, that map completion is character bound maybe you completed with another toon?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I love Wintersday, I love gifting, but when you said " This game has great community" you’ve lost me.
The community is horrible, people are toxic.
It is kinda sad that you have that impression. I always felt that GW2 have a great community, only part of the dungeon “elitists” in game and a few PvP players are kinda toxic.
@OP, it looks great I’ll check it for sure.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
When you left the game?
A few way points, PoIs and hearts was added, the WPs was added with the guild missions, some PoIs was added during the LS S1 and 2 hearts was added in Caledon Forest and in Plains of Ashford.
Also a new area was added in the Magumma wastes (Dry Top and Silverwastes), but that area doesn’t count towards map completion.

steal a magic dragon egg, make an omelette, have no time to explain, profit

Can’t be more accurate than this.

Hopefully more nodes will drop, more people will farm it, and the TP prices will drop, and everyone will be happy
Sounds like a dream scenario, but what will most likely happen is people will get greedy once they realize what they are worth and prices will sky rocket like they did with precursors pushing them beyond anything the average player is willing to pay for.
Yeah it is and I agree with you, but someone needs to be the glass half full person, right? ;D
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It would be even better if it worked like the current mini-pet system, sometimes I’m in one of my alts and I want to use How-to-dance Vol I for example, but I remember it is in another toon, if I could access it among my alts it would be amazing.
But a dedicated tab in bank would help a lot.

It’s easiest to get to if you’re Blue for the week, where it’s just a short jog away from your Keep.
Yup. Red would be the 2nd easiest, you just need to cross the ogre village area and get your wolf.
Green is the only side that would have trouble to get it.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Unfortunately the story model you suggest doesn’t fit the MMORPG scenario.
For that devs not only need to add a story branch for every option but also make a story that makes sense for everyone and every NPC independent of what path/option you picked.
In MMOs the player character is usually only an important person among a mass of other really important NPCs against a problem, different from a single player RPG where you are the savior of the world.

When making my asura thief I tried to use my RL last name “Bardy” it kinda sounds like an asura name, but guess what, it was taken somehow … so I added an extra “d” and now my thief is called “Barddy”
That actually works better for an Asura. They have a tendency to have double-letters, so the second ‘d’ just seals it.
Yeah I also think it got even better with the extra “d” and fit better the asura name convention. But I’m still intrigued by who took “Bardy”, it isn’t a common last name at all.

I agree with Chameleon Dude.
1 – What if instead of a mount you could toggle permanent swiftness and stealth? It would do the same thing for you.
2 – If WP was account-bound, why you would use your previous suggestion? Also many things would need to change on map completion for 2nd and more times.
3 – Really? You want that new function to save maybe 1~2 minutes of using WP and walking to a place?

Because when we bought the game back there, those items were not included.
It is really rare a company update retroactively the sells they made with the new package options.
I also pre-ordered the game with the deluxe edition (I would buy the collectors if it wasn’t so much trouble to import to Brazil …) but I understand that when I bought such features was not included. Sure it would be nice to get them but I don’t expect to.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Nice links, tons of nice info.
GW2 Norn culture is a mix of Norse and Native American cultures. We get the hunt and the path to the glory from the Norse culture and the shamanistic “religion” and beliefs from the Native American culture.
It is kinda sad that in game norns have a very detailed culture but a very shallow lore of their origins.

You can also get transmutations by fully mapping a city map (Divinity’s Reach, Rata Sum, The Grove and so on), you’ll get a guaranteed transmutation charge, since you are a new player, I suggest mapping all the 6 cities and you’ll not only get the exp but also transmutations enough for the whole set.
BTW, if you need more later you can make a new toon, complete a city, get and use the charge and delete the toon if you want.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You’ll need Transmutation charges to be able to change the skin of your armor, and you can change it using the wardrobe system.

The only cap is 2 tiers per day with hot joins, it is 10k rank points.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It is not by number of matches, it is by how many rank points you get.
I think it needs 40k rank points to fully complete a reward track, but for the tome of knowledge you just need to get 4/5th of 1 tier, so you need about 4k rank points to get it.
Just for comparison, I usually play hot join pvp, and every win I get around 500 rank points.
EDIT: more info here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Reward_track#Reward_Tracks

You are probably talking about the cultural sets, those armors are worth just for the skin, the stats aren’t that good and cost way more than if you bought from the TP.
I suggest to keep using masterwork armor (green ones) till around lvl 60, then get some rare armor (yellow) till you reach lvl 80.
EDIT: save the karma, those are kinda hard to get and you can buy a full set of lvl 80 exotic armor with it, but cost 440k karma
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Every 2 weeks a new PvE set of quests / story is added and achievements is also, besides we got updates to how you level your character and get traits in PvE.
You may not be satisfied with the PvE updates but you need to agree that there are more updates there than in PvP and WvW.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
For a pug bearbow can work, but for a group that have the minimum organization the build won’t work.
With bearbow you won’t be able to stack with the party, that way the boss won’t stay in the correct place, the buffs won’t be applied correctly, some bosses may use different skills that wouldn’t happen if all was at melee, and spotter won’t affect your party (or if you are close enough, your damage will be reduced)
For dungeons it is not only the personal damage that counts, but the tools you can bring to the group.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Alright then, so … is there any MMORPG that isn’t “grindy”.
The only game that felt less grind than GW2 in my opinion was GW1, but of course I didn’t played all MMOs out there, and I’d love to know if such game exist, if you don’t want to name the game here, send me a private message.

Skin cash shop game whit massive grind
A cash-shop grindfest
You never played Korean MMOs, did you? Then you would know what grind game and cash-shop based means.
Anyway, GW2 is a PvE game that thinks PvP matters, targeted to casual players of any age.
I’m 30 years old.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I’m the #3 (play at home, read at work)
BTW, the #1 case will never answer here, because you know … they aren’t here >_>
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Also also, Warrior #5 skill is a blast finisher.
Just like Ranger’s
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Now I know this thread has been made before, but I’m short on time. Can we please just get a perma-stow function for rangers? I often run into situations where I’d really prefer to not have my pet with me, whether I be in combat mode or not.
In that case the answer is easy: NO
When you have time search for the other threads about it and read the complete answers.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The way the game currently is, even if we would get double the healing power (using your example) it wouldn’t be as useful or desirable than power or even cond damage.
The problem isn’t the amount of certain stats, it is the mechanic of some stats.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
My main is a ranger and I think that our WH skills better than the warrior’s.
To begin with, ranger’s WH can cause damage …
Warrior have lower CD but ranger’s have better utilities IMO.
EDIT: Yeah a bit of reduction on ranger’s WH #5 or rise of the swiftness would be fine, but nothing above 5 seconds difference.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Or … you could watch the cutscenes on youtube?
But I also recommend what simplesimon.2084 said.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes, it was easier to get an exotic, but before launch Anet thought it wouldn’t be.
What they planned was very different from reality, that is why it feels so weird now.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Though Vitality and healing counters power attacks too …
Barely…
With Vit you’ll rise your HP a bit so it will make you survive maybe 1 more hit with enough Vit, while Tou will lower the damage from 100% of the hits and the cumulative damage mitigated will be superior than the HP you would get from Vit.
Also Healing Power + Toughness against direct damage is great combination, you’ll get less damage from each hit and you’ll heal for more.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
(edited by Belzebu.3912)
When the game was launched Anet thought that exotic armors would be hard to get and would take a while for people to have a full set, so since the cultural armor can be acquired with “just” gold it couldn’t be exotic so they made it as rare armor. I don’t need to say that it didn’t end as they planed and people got full exotic really fast, that is also the reason ascended gear was created.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Or just press the tilde key followed by the letter, or the Ñ key to the right of the L …
(the advantage of having a spanish keyboard)..
The Brazilian keyboard have Ç instead of Ñ to the right of the L
“The more you know”
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Toughness affect critical damage, it just doesn’t scale like against normal direct damage.
About condition damage, Vitality is the stat that “counter” conditions and Healing Power support both defensive stats.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Depends A LOT of where you are playing.
In PvP rangers was never OP, the spirit build was near to it, but was toned down, the new Rapid Fire isn’t OP at all, it many times can be used against the rangers.
In PvE rangers was never even close to be OP, the only reason rangers are allowed in dungeons is for the spotter trait and the frost spirit skill to buff the other classes, if you bring sword or GS at least you’ll suck less DPS-wise.
In WvW, you are only viable as roamer (actually pretty good at it, but not OP), in zergs there is no viable build at all, all you can be there is a meat shield, at best, with tons of regens and invulnerability.
The “Ranger is OP” trend began after the last update compressing the RF channeling time, and after that players couldn’t just face tank and ignore it, now they need to dodge or move and apparently it is “OP”.

this video by Gpotato talks about why healing power is uselessin gw2 and is unrewarding
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRnw05Boi8I
Wpotato or even better WoodenPotatoes, Gpotato is the name of a quite bad MMO publisher
Anyway, yeah healing power in GW2 is really really bad, the scale, the usefulness, every aspect is just bad.

Get a mouse with more buttons, I use a CM Storm Inferno, it has 5 extra buttons and that helps A LOT, and it cost like 50 bucks.
Also the rest of the skills you can bind to buttons near the “WASD”, like in the Q E R Z X C keys.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Did you added the Monumental tapestry to the Fellowship monument?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Officially you can use all the GW2 content in your youtube videos, you just can’t monetize it, unless you join a network, then you can monetize and the network will handle the legal part for you.
I used to make GW2 videos and I was from the socialblade network, I stopped for lack of time.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Actually you DO get a bit of advantage, finishing some Personal Story steps gives you a bit of AP, and 3 of those are locked for each race, so if you only play 1 race you can get just 3 of the 15 possible achievements in the “Hero” tab.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Depends on the theme you want to follow.
You can go for browns and greens for an Archer/Leather theme
Black and some blue tints for an assassin approach, maybe some details in red or white or even yellow (I like the black and yellow details combo).
I usually use a white/blue set since I wanted to have a snow/frost theme with my norn ranger, specially after I crafted frostfang.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
GW2 is not trying to compete with games like LoL and DOTA, but with other MMOs with competitive PvP.
If GW2 succeed to be among the “known” e-sports games it is good enough, even if only in the bottom of the list.
