(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It’s confirmed by the devs to be a bug and is getting fixed.
Yup source
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
That is not a “potential exploit” at all.
Rangers could get a high quickness uptime for a while, but like the others wrote, this build is just a “quickness” machine, and if anything hits him before the attack the combo lose good part of the effectiveness, and overall the build isn’t useful at all.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Funny thing is rangers were a great class to begin with. Yes it took practise and management but we were already good. Now we are buffed to be equal to other classes, and they are complaining and QQ because they dont like the underdog and now they need to dodge, block and think about more defensive, strategic play. Hell maybe its time for people to stop going full zerker
I agree in parts
Rangers:
- Was a good pvp class but not that good to be among tournament level meta, spirit and trapper builds was good at best, not great.
- Good WvW solo roamer, but there was better options out there.
- Had 1 skill (Frost Spirit) and 1 trait (Spotter) that was useful in dungeons, and now FS was nerfed to oblivion and the RF buff barely compensate that, we got a self damage boost but we lost the ability to rise the party damage.
- WvW zerg rangers were plain terrible, not a single positive thing, even the water field requires the ranger to be in the middle and if you are tank enough to survive you aren’t causing enough damage, if you are causing damage you aren’t tank enough to survive for long, at least now rangers can actually do something, we are still far from be good in zergs, we just rose from useless to bad ~ mediocre.
- Open world PvE … is any class bad at this?
Resuming, we were never a GREAT class, great players was good at most, and the average made the class look bad, now we have the deserved tools to compete closely to the other classes without the need of “leet skillz”
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
About the necro update, the Terror trait was fine, but Dhuumfire was bad implemented and later got an even worse nerf.
The current ranger update is fair and just brought up the “weaker” players by a good margin, while the “stronger” players just got some a tune up. It is like the old bull-rush → 100b warriors, it was a nice 1 trick pony that soon lost it magic.

All ascended gear are account bound, including backpiece, trinkets, weapons and armor.
Difference from ascended to exotic is indeed small, if you only change 1 item then weapons are more significant, but still small tough, but if you swap weapons then the difference won’t be as noticeable, unless you craft a set of weapons.
Ascended are more focused for fractal runners and min/max players (or for completionists like myself :P ) so if your budget is kinda tight you don’t need to worry at all about it, the reward for all the effort isn’t good if you look at cost/benefit.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If you can and know that you’ll use the Longbow the most, then craft the weapon, since the stats + raw damage is good, besides the infusion slots.
Backpiece is the best option if you are not certain of the weapon you’ll use, and even if you later want to use another character then you can just transfer it and use with any other weapon.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Then why mention it at all when it’s only a Skin which has no bearing on stats…
Because it is rare, cool and not easy to obtain, I would also brag if I could.
It would be the same as I said “With the new update my Frostfang is biting a lot more of my enemies”, which btw is true and I’m loving the might on ricochet
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Dreamthistle.
what the hell does this word mean?…. Why do you hate plain english so much?
… try google before posting, that is the name of a skin in game.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I think they unlocked them for everyone, because I don’t have HoM unlocks and I suddenly have the black moa and black widow.
In PvE/WvW or PvP?
In PvP it was always unlocked for everyone, in PvE/WvW you need to unlock in the hall of monuments.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The tournament stats on 12th, the feature patch was on 9th.
To start the tournament you just need to go into the WvW, everything will be automatic, but only after the September 12th WvW reset, it is usually about 1 hour after the daily reset.

Gather around, my children, and I will tell you a story. Another story about Forum Posters.
There is another kind of Forum Poster that I forgot to mention. This kind of Forum Poster is the worst kind. This kind posts on the forum without checking his facts, and goes and calls other innocent Forum Posters dumb.
Again, my children, don’t be one of them.
I must be really dumb … I honestly want to know how to turn the new leveling system off, can you guide me?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
First of all, i have to say that i do not really understand why Arena Net put their resources into such a feature. It’s well known that GW2 is a casual game with fluid and self explanatory leveling experience, just freedom and slow completing the map. Easy.
All those changes was the default features from the China client, now for some reason those features was implemented here, even though players in China complained and players here was relieved that wasn’t in our client … until now.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes, that is a thing many players pointed out.
In GW2 the difference between day and night is almost none, I would love a much darker night.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
^So the last hit is not a hit?
Nope.
All channeled skills like 100b, mesmer’s GS auto attack, ranger’s LB rapid fire and so on, cause several hits but the sum of the damage is what appear in the screen.
You can also look in the combat chat channel, if you caused 11k damage with 100b you see something like this:
100b: 2000
100b: 2000
100b: 2000
100b: 2000
100b: 3000

Used to have many more Norn spirits, but several main and secondary spirits died after the rise of Jormag. Owl in special was the one that told the norns to retreat the fight against Jormag and move to southern areas to try a better approach later, but ended dying during the retreat.
In Hoelbrack you find an area dedicated to the fallen Owl, Ox and Wolverine spirits.

Welcome to the world of the Gaming Forums.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The thing about frost spirit isn’t only the damage boost the player gets, it is about the damage boost the player gives to the rest of the party.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
+/-
The idea in general is good, but the problem is how to implement that correctly, besides ANet already stated that perma stow pet is not an option for them, they want rangers to be the ‘pet class’.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If that rune set goes to PvP I can see a new ranger meta coming.
In WvW trapper build with that will be a popular roam build.
EDIT: That was announced for the China update, not confirmed here.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yeah, many here in the forums thinks that Feature update = Content update, and that is a bit sad, but kinda understandable.
How is it understandable?
The majority of
end-usersconsumers are stupid.
Exactly.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yeah, many here in the forums thinks that Feature update = Content update, and that is a bit sad, but kinda understandable.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Well, I’m in the group that didn’t buy a kit of infinite tools because keep swapping them among my 8 toons would be too inconvenient, so I just buy a couple stacks of regular ones for each toon and problem solved.
If the infinite tools was accessible from a wardrobe system or make them permanent for the whole account then I would buy the kit for sure.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You can always try join a guild and get help from them.
CoF P3 is one of the paths that ppl avoid since it is substantially more time consuming and doesn’t offer enough reward for that.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
If you enjoy Fractals, your best bet is the Fractal Capacitor .
Otherwise look for either this one or the Spinal Blades , the last requires Blade Shards, that is kind annoying to acquire now.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Anet decided to keep a standard of making text and voice over for every supported language.
GW2 have support for english, spanish, french and german besides the chinese client.
Maybe the game is not even prepared to have a different text/dialogue file from the voice over files, so just make sub-titles isn’t as simple as you imagine.
Besides all that, the languages that aren’t already in the game represent a very small market individually, so financially it may not seem a good option to invest time and resources.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Vanquisher is way, WAY easier than Cartographer, with a decent hero group you can face-roll all the maps in the game. You can even do the vanquisher the same time as the Daily Zaishen Vanquisher so you gain coins to get z-keys at the same time.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I want to wield 2 Longbows, because of reasons
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I think they added 1 giant, the one that appear in Dry Top Sandstorm and take ages to kill.
There is an event in Brisband where giants spawn after certain scale and with enough players many giants spawn, that is where people farm giants.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I play since betas and I only have 12 giants killed.
But yeah, it is 1000 kill for the full achievement
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
There are people who exist that only have one toon, you know.
So that is your lucky day.
The chances of getting a precursor that you can use will be increased.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
How so?
EDIT: Except you are trying to get Dawn as a necromancer for example, then yes, it will be harder.
Precursors are named exotics.
So what?
Ok, time for examples.
Lets say you are playing a guardian, the chances of getting a light/medium named exotic armor will decrease, but get a heavy named armor will increase.
In the same scenario, get a Dawn or a Zap for example, as a guardian, will increase , while getting a Lover or Tooth of Frosfang will decrease.
So they aren’t making precursors harder to get, they are just making it different.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
So basically they made precursors even harder to get.
Got it.
How so?
EDIT: Except you are trying to get Dawn as a necromancer for example, then yes, it will be harder.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Probably it does.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Aspen Saplings are spread in all lvl 1~25 maps, just run around the 5 initial maps and you’ll find plenty of them.
Check the wiki for more info: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aspen_Sapling
Every sapling/node respawn after the daily reset, so it will take at most 24 hours.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Sure, but by veteran I meant “not new”, a feature where you need lvl 400 of a crafting skill isn’t focused for new players at all, so I would label as for “veteran”.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Umm … I over-read that part, I thought it was about those new types of gear like the rifle in the example. Oh well, 1 item less in my list, haha
Still plenty of stuff for the veterans and the announcements didn’t even finished.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
A thing that I do and works 100% of the time is, try all the emotes.
There are only 6 possible emotes to do in Langmar, and if you do the wrong one nothing bad happens, so you can just spam all the emotes and when you do the right one the curtain opens and done.
When you see that the 45 seconds counter started, type:
/salute <enter> /dance <enter> / wave <enter> /sit <enter> /point <enter> /bow <enter>
You don’t even need to see the emotes happening or anything, just type.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
but the new backpieces seems to be end level crafting, so rewarding the veterans.
only crafting level 0-399, so no exotic lv.80 backbags. Not for veterans.
I just read the official announcement, can you link where you read that the new backpieces will be just for crafting 0-399?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
All I can say is watch out for reflections… that quick dps can be a double edge sword…
Signet of Stone is the answer ;D
I can see a group of rangers in WvW timing Rapid Fire + SotW + SoS + QZ with piercing arrow and then running for their lives, but with bags dropping on their feet all around haha
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
An all-ranger group can run anything in the game, you just won’t be able to set a new record of CM speed clear (or maybe you can … who knows?), but I think that isn’t your goal.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Lets see …
New PvP only armor from Tournaments and PvP track, doesn’t feel like focused towards new players.
Class balance change affects everyone.
WvW commander tag and the new Siege Golem mastery are focused more towards veteran players.
New Crafting UI and recipes affects all, but the new backpieces seems to be end level crafting, so rewarding the veterans.
Most of those may not excite you, but actually few of the updates are focuses towards new players, most of the changes affect both new and veterans or just veterans.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You can’t stack the items, you can re-gain them.
After you consumed / destroyed the living story specific items (like Mysterious Seed for example), you gain it again after completing the corresponding LS step.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes, you get the items again (if you used the items) and make multiple backpieces if you so desire.
The episode is account unlocked, only the progression of the steps are per character, but any current and future chars can play the episodes.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes you can transfer the items, but also, your new toon CAN play the Season 2 story line, if you unlocked a S2 episode, any toon you have and make have it unlocked.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes you can. Just use the same email when making the GW1 acc.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
HoM and Achieve skins still doesn’t require transmutes, those are free to use.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Mainhand spear + shield
That was my thing in GW1, in a BM build.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I was wondering I could enter with my Ministry of Purity cosplay
But that wouldn’t be fair.
Why not?
At very least you can just show off, and be a non-concur entry.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
All classes are great, just a few classes aren’t in some meta builds, like Necros are in a bad spot for dungeon speed run, but even so necros can do very well in dungeons and they are great in WvW and also good in PvP.
Rangers have a good spot in dungeon runs, currently in a bad spot in WvW zerg fights, but great in WvW roaming, and also in a good spot at PvP, warrior currently is in a good spot (not the best) at everything, and that is what some players is complaining.
Resuming, any class will allow you do achieve everything in game, as long as you enjoy playing said class.
