Even if that’s the case I have the level 3 mastery and I have yet to see any cracked encryption drop, and you can subtract 20s from each encryption you open since that’s the cost of a key. Yes I have found a 5g trophy but that was once in who knows how many boxes opened.

Moa have a strong offensive attack, it’s easy to down players with it, if you know what you are doing and not running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Or you can disengage from the fight if you get Moa’d it’s not like you have to sit there and take the beating, Moa is a CC that allows you to continue to attack, and to disengage, the look on mesmers and engies faces when you turn around and down them after they Moa you is priceless.

Yes, Distortion Prevents your from Contesting/ capturing a point, Well of Precognition is bad and should only be used as a Last resort, since it will affect all team mates, while Blurred Frenzy only stops you from contesting.

Levetty just because you don’t like pvp doesn’t mean it should be removed.

All Anet needs to do like they proved they can is to tune each game type separately, since they proved they can change revealed on thieves in Spvp compared to Pve and Wvw, then it would be truly balanced, instead of balancing the whole game around Spvp

Shield 5 combos well with blinks incentives it returns to you not where you cast it, so you can shape where it goes or double the distance it travels in a straight line.

The shield has alot of defense if you pair Sw/Sw and Sw/Sh, the #4 blocks are great, and then you have projectile blocking with CC which is always a plus

This is funny. Everyone said a few days ago no one would run Dragon’s Maw after it’s CD was just increased by 20%. Renewed Focus for sure, right? Turns out it’s still pretty good. That is a good nerf by Anet since now there are several competitive elites for Guardian (poor Ele doesn’t have a single one!)

I think all the idea that you should burn all your dodges/stunbreaks/teles against a single trap is pretty misguided. As a DH, that’s exactly what I’d like you to do. Then you have no dodges left for my Might-enhanced True Shot, and my Justice pull back into the traps.

The only counters to a GOOD DH trapper right now is to a. Kill them without triggering any traps (difficult but doable if you are careful and have numbers advantage). b. Ignore that point and concentrate on getting the other points. c. Send your pet/minions in there to trigger traps first.

There is no question DH is a top-tier build right now for Conquest. Whether it needs further nerfs is absolutely impossible to say without seeing metrics that only Anet has access to. Let’s just leave them to do their work.

Noone said you needed to blow all CC/stun breaks. People have listed ways that can be used to counter the one trap. Dodges and CC/stun breaks should be used when most effective, using them appropriately to counter a good elite like DM is a good use you would only need to use one not all. Thats where reading comp comes in.

You have to have all other Specializations unlocked before you can unlock the elite spec. You will need to get Hero Points from Wvw or Pve content either open world or faster if you do Hot

Elite specs are only for level 80 characters, to get them you need 250 Hero Points, which used to be Skill points.

You can solo getting elite specs but better in groups,

This is where you need to l2p and l2 position. All of your arguments are invalid, and I don’t play engi never have since the play style never called to me. But elixir s doesn’t provide stability, it provides invulnerability two different things. So gg and again I never mentioned teleports. I asked what you do as an Engineer, Elixir S is the only possible way to survive the trap without being Flamethrower build. As I said the trap has the exact same animation as two other traps that aren’t worth dodging, you aren’t reading an animation from a 1.2k range Judge’s that is already casting the trap. Also in my edit I mentioned Rangers too, how do they survive? They literally can’t without http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shared_Anguish if they even took it and it was up.

So your saying popping a lower CD utility skill to counter an elite is so horrible. I think you are under the impression that all builds should be able to counter all builds. And again if you see a DH casting a trap why wouldn’t you dodge through it?? There’s roughly a 33.33% chance it’s Dragon’s Maw, and if they do JI you can still dodge out of the trap before the Jaws close on you or are you ignoring that part. I don’t even play DH and I know you can dodge out of the DM before the jaws close. And on the ranger thing I never saw the edit so I never said anything against it.

Really, let’s see off the top of my head engi have Elixir B/ Toss Elixir B, they have Elixir X and you said they gain Stability from the trait with Flame thrower. So your point is invalid. Thats 2 skills and a trait which, which if you said thief you would have had a better argument…. since they reliably have only DS. Gg you know there’s a thing called making a build that is useful to you, if DH is so hard for you or cc is so hard for you to deal with you use the skills provided…

Yeah, this is the poop end of the spectrum, hopefully raids release soon and we can see what is needed, since I have the gold on Standby to pretty much gear almost full Ascended but if they have different meta for different bosses then I may just hold off and craft legendary armor…….

No I addressed it, let’s see same casting animation, so same casting animation, which is simple if he’s laying a trap he’s doing it for his benefit/damage you, or cc you. Now if you dodge through it oh what you eliminated the threat no matter what it was, and if it happens to be Dragon’s Maw even better. Since you know you have two dodges…. and shouldn’t be wasting Stability on anything like that since CD and all, now if you know for certain it’s Dragon’s Maw then you pop Stability since no other trap comes close to same activation animation….. so it looks like I answered your concerns twice. But hey not everyone is great at reading comprehension. Since I never said pop Stab on the casting animation.

DH traps basically remove our ability to stomp/rezz, not only is that blatantly overpowered it’s also game breaking.

Let’s see what’s wrong with most of what you say. One the only counter is not stability, you can dodge through it causing it to activate and being useless, it’s hardly insta death if you get caught in it, people shouldn’t be saving Stab for only stomp/rez it should be used when most effective, which means to counter CC….., oh and it’s not a 30 sec CD it’s 75 Secs, all on top of a very obvious casting Animation and a highly visible activiaton animation. Both of which provide you with time to a) dodge through the trap. b) activate Stability. and c) getting away from it while it’s being cast, also known as positioning. If you get caught in it generally boils down to being outplayed.

You do realize it has the exact same animation as any trap in the game of a simple hand down motion for .5 seconds right? If you somehow see it being placed what if it was actually Procession of Blades or Light’s Judgment with the exact same animation, what if they Judge’s mid cast?

You do realize, that if you notice them casting a trap the best way to render it useless is to dodge through it, since that’s why they give most skills casting animations, to properly time dodges….. now if you do get caught you can clearly see the maw close and before it does you pop Stability to render it useless.

Your response just asks for me to say L2p since that’s your issue…..

Ski Cask, with this I’m talking about before the full effect triggers since one it has a cast animation when they set the trap and two it has an activation animation before the effect is fully activated both of those give more than enough time to say dodge through/out or to Stab up. If you get caught in it after both of those very obvious animations that’s your own fault.

Yes, I even provided him with ways to get them faster, the content he was doing does not provide them in any decent amount, I play very rarely and I have way to many of all the mats, that I either have to refine them, or feed them to my Princess/mawdrewey. It’s not much of a grind, you can spend less than 2 hrs doing champ train or wvw and come away with alot of the Empyrial stars….. did you fail to read the others posts the OP and I discussed? Apparently not.

Beepboopbop, Basilisk venom is on a 45 sec Cd and gives 2 charges of it. It works pretty well especially as a quick interrupt and to stall up players, now that being said if thief wasn’t in a crappy position it would shine better like it did pre June 23rd, how I miss those days.

I don’t play DH……. but an elite with 6 secs of Daze is not an Issue, it’s an Elite for crying out loud, with a long CD but instead of you double tapping a movement button you call for a nerf on something not needing it. Your mentality is mind boggling…. I can tell you probably haven’t been playing all that long so it might be hard to grasp but this game rewards and implements an active play style, you are as bad as People who QQ about Condi damage but don’t slot a condi cleanse…… you have 2 highly available options to learn to deal with this trap, learn DH animations and time dodges accordingly, or two slot a stability granting skill, which all classes have…

But timing dodges would take skill and learning to be better while calling for nerfs only takes a minute to post on the forums, I find highly amusing that I never see threads that’s start off with, how to I counter X, or what can build x do to win against build y. Sw is not the fastest way for Empyrial Fragments fastest way is champ trains, Wvw zergs and dungeon farming. I don’t even play that much and I have bags filled with them and I have geared 2 characters with full ascended items. Really the Empyrial Fragments are the easiest to come by

Let’s see, every mat needed outside of a select few are purchasable on the TP, the Vision Crystals can be made as many in a day as you have mats, they are not time gated, only the Spool of Elonian Cord, Spool of damask Thread, lump of Mithrillium, and Spirit wood Resin are time gated……. all of which are not used in making Empyrial Stars……. so complaint is invalid. Same with all other Obsidian Refinement. All you need to do is provide the Obsidian shards which are easily accessible and the base mats be it Empyrial Fragments, Bloodstone Dust, Dragonite Ore.

With all Mmos whenever an xpac is released to stay relevant /competitive in pvp enviroment you had to buy the xpac. Otherwise you never cared about being truly competitive with it.

Tetsuji apparently you don’t know how to actually play the game and want every class you have problems with brought to your level of play where they don’t hinder you.

I’m glad the Devs look at stats of the game and take all the QQ posts made with a grain of salt.

Again an attack/ evade with mediocre dps and causes the mesmer to be stationary and rooted that is easily avoided if you played using the already provided counters and mechanics in the game called dodge, or even simpler moving out of the way, and the whole burst to take time to setup and is not in the least instant setup up.

But no you want classes nerfed, for no other reason than you needing to l2p, every gripe you have made is easily countered or avoided. Yes Burn is borderline but still handled relatively easily.

the ranger needs to have the correct pet too if they want that ability otherwise its just no use.

I’m pretty sure ranger has Thunderclap which is a daze which interrupts……. unless that doesn’t count…

Ok I thought this was a joke troll post at first but now I see you might be serious…

First, BF is the easiest thing to deal with given you know exactly when it will end and where the mesmer will be after the blur ends (unless they chain blink or something else at the end to escape the damage, but then they’ve wasted a key skill so take advantage of that). Very easy to save up damage and apply cc or hit hard immediately on evade end. It’s a total non-issue. I have zero problems with blurred frenzy when playing any class. Not to mention retal kittens all over it. BF has been nerfed enough in the past, leave it alone.

Perma evade? lol, what else is there currently (before we get well of precognition) apart from normal dodges and BF? No other weapon offers evade, nor does any utility (again apart from well of precog). I’ll give you perma evade – try melee GS + Sw/D Ranger, now that is true perma evade…

Stealth bursts are very easy to predict and avoid if you know the mesmer is fighting you. It’s only when you don’t know a mesmer is in the vicinity and they gank you while you’re fighting another player(s) that you can’t do much. But seriously that’s the same with any class that ganks you – this is pvp with predefined teams, not wvw – if there’s a mesmer on the enemy team then look at the kitten mini map and pay attention to where they are and whether they plan to engage you in combat.

If 1v1ing a mesmer then most of the time the bursts are extremely predictable and easy to avoid. If they stealth while fighting, wait and anticipate incoming damage by dodging or using a defensive skill. If they go for burst outside of stealth then you have no excuses to not see the obvious animations and avoid at least the initial burst. If they stun use a stunbreak, if daze just dodge first…

Even then you can easily do things like engi shield 4 magnetic knockback to a stealthed mesmer to mess up their skill usage and I’m a total noob/crap engi yet still manage to dodge, block or otherwise avoid mesmer bursts and mess up their skill use – because as a mesmer main I understand how the average mesmer thinks. Not just how the class functions, but how mesmer players minds work and the subtle patterns in play that usually arise.

I can’t do the same to say necros (or engineers, eles and several other classes) for example because I have barely touched necro and have no idea of the thought process/personality that goes behind playing one so I have no idea how necro mains think, even though I know enough about how the class functions to fight against it.
