Only 2% of the total population (115k players) of gw2 has rank 2000. The average rank of all players is rank 47. You could craft 3 full sets of legendary armor from raids faster then you could go from rank 0-2000 with no boosters. Please address this Anet.
You are looking at that efficiency site. We do not know if that 115K players who registered there are a fair sampling of the overall player population. We do not know what the percentage is. Maybe you can craft 3 sets of legendary, but that doesn’t mean everyone can.
Thank you anet for making a reasonable level requirement. Do not change a thing.
Stay strong Anet, don’t let the snowflakes wear you down!
HoT was not perfect by any means, but I feel the OPs list is inaccurate on more things than I want to spend typing up.
I hope the next expansion offers more explorable zones than we got with HoT. I hope it has better writing from my perspective and I hope we run across some stories to what happened with some of our old Elonian friends (assuming we go towards Elona).
The Elite Specs didn’t kill WvW, but the desert BL was a piece of excrement (IMO). I hope for more life for WvW. Blow up the servers and introduce a more balanced match-up system.
Haven’t gotten back on TS in over a year. Roaming just fine without having to listen to kids swearing every third word.
If removing it isn’t feesable then Edge of the Mists should only be traveled to when the regular 4 WvW maps are all full.
Unavoidable queues are great way to reduce server stacking and spread population across the rest of the servers. Will also diversify matchups.
That would be a good trade-off. Reduce the bandwagon that they signed on for (I"m sure everyone will claim to have been on X server since launch LOL) and have less time waiting in a queue. The last couple days, SBI/AR has a queue on one or two maps NA prime time and haven’t seen a queue at any other time of the day that I’ve hopped on. I’d wager its the T1 bandwagon bloated servers that bought themselves a queue.
People still demanding that the game be made easier for them?
Some of us who’ve played since GW1 hit the streets feel the level requirements are just find. Well done anet.
I also received more ascended drops than normal. I chalked it up to being an anomaly like winning in in a consecutive scratch lottery tickets. Maybe that’s all it is, but maybe they improved the odds.
Its beyond a troll post. Someone who doesn’t read your last sentence is going to have a conniption.
I like where the rewards are at right now. The suggestion for a ‘double’ ticket or xp week would be a fine idea.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/No-Loyalty-Bonus
Everyone is starting at ground zero to get the loyalty perk we have to have 100 pips for three weeks. Then we start getting the bonus but you must keep reaching the 100 pip a week if you don’t anet deems you not loyal. You then have to restart over getting 100 pips for three weeksThat post says ACTIVE not TRANSFERRED.
The question is a good one… Three weeks from what?
The answer is this ‘requirement’ should have been told to players in an email to ALL players so they wouldn’t have this issue but hey, this is Anet we’re talking about…
It’s baloney… and it is yet another thing that players will give as a reason never to play WvW again.
Loyalty isn’t ‘from three weeks ago’, loyalty is a server that isn’t being abused by links and queues.
LOL seriously?! Players are going never going to play again because they have to wait to get a reward that they were never getting before? WvW players have been playing for years without these rewards. Sounds like the bandwagons wheels are starting to wobble a bit.
A graduated outnumbered buff is an interesting approach.
Steels your rewards? Seriously? You’re in for a rough WvW experience if you think that is why people are flipping maps. I’m sure a few are doing it but small wvw populations have to swing between maps to defend structures or stealth an objective and they’re not looking at the timer to make their moves.
What is WoW? Some game for pleebs?
I haven’t seen on iota of bullying on the maps I’ve been on about the outnumbered buff (SBI and Mag BL had it, lost it, had it repeat for hours last night). Nobody was toxic in map or team chat.
Big reward for going into battle against overwhelming numbers. I like it.
Badges! Perhaps you’re thinking of badges being used as the reward currency. Veterans already have a lot, they get earned by actively contributing and there isn’t a whole lot of use for them.
I like what they did. Participation is up (it’ll settle down as the days progress) and we can get better rewards for doing the things we already like to do. I call that a big win.
I was surprised that I didn’t see more tags running around.
Natural selection will whittle out the farmer tags and new players will learn what tags to follow if they want to zerg around.
Give it a little time for the novelty to wear off and we’ll be back to a less crowded queue
Day one novelty. It’ll reduce once that wears off. Prime time might be interesting for a week or two.
Is the new meme to complain about people who earned ranks in EOTM? So what! They put in the time to k train the same way off hour band wagons k train the borderlands. They can’t separate the roamer, fight centered grind out wvw levels from the zerg following 1 spammer.
You are right about the pips for being on a winning server being an encouragement for people to band wagon.
It would elevate some of the queue times in the short run, but I’d wager things will calm down once the novelty wears off. Hopefully we get some more dedicated wvw players out of it.
You need to unlock the Triumphant armour box through the reward track, then choose the item you want, you can then start working towards the T2 set, im not sure what mats you need after unlocking that you can work towards the T3 armour which requires a wvw rank of 2000
Eww, 2000? That seems excessive for freaking ascended gear.
Ascended gear with “particle effects”……
You can get the normal Ascended WvW without 2000 rank.
2000 is still an atrocious amount to try lure in players from other game modes, which will only make them dislike the game mode even more than they already do.
1000 would have been a far more reasonable amount.
You mean, its atrocious for you. Those of us who have been playing wvw see that as a very low entry amount.
I have over 3000 rank. Less assumptions are nice.
Good for you. You should rethink what is ‘reasonable’ as there was no reasons given other than throwing out a number.
Your name suites you.
Aw, going for insults instead of articulating why 1000 is a more reasonable number. You’ll go far with that approach.
You really want to put people in a tizzy, give 1 AP for each wvw level. Watch heads explode.

Just wait until NA prime time….
It’ll be a cluster for a few days at least.

They should just put in a special snowflake button for those who don’t like to do things. Call it the ‘give me what I want without having to work for it’ button. Big or small, one click and you get everything. You win, game over.
90% of the armors look better than legendary.
It will be solo and duo roamers in tears as the PvErs run groups of 5-10 zerging yaks, sentries and camps
Those of us who roam alone will be smashing into those five man groups (tagged guildies for that extra pip).
Yes, I want them to focus on it! Sure they will have some missteps (golem week – really?) but it cannot survive as is and sometimes they can really hit it out of the park.
If nothing else, the new shinnies can bring in some fresh blood. That could help the long term survivability of the game mode.
The rewards based on server position will still heavily favor the band wagon servers. I seriously doubt people will be dissuaded by the three week hold.
I generally have the whisper turned off.
I roam alone and don’t want to play anything else so I don’t need whispers on at all. Only my wife can influence what area I go play in and she doesn’t need to whisper to ask for help.
Last go around, PvP was nearly a wasteland compared to the prior ones. My guess is that it’ll stay that way.
WvW has been bleeding participation for a long time. Skill balance and server balance contribute a lot to that. Nothing they’re releasing hits those to items so I don’t see more than a quick bump in participation for the novelty. The core problems remain.
The rewards might entice some people who haven’t experienced WvW to maybe give it a try. That might infuse some new players, which is a good thing.
The skirmish business…. I know they put up a poll and that was the winner. But, it was like the naming of the new guild, it was the best choice of three mediocre ones. I won’t help balance but it will help rewards, so marginally helpful.
WvW got some attention, so yay for that.
There are usually a few players who are not part of the zerg who try to succeed in the event. The zerg will than move close to, let’s say, the outer side of a wall. The idea is to be close enough to scale up the boss, but don’t get aggro. This way, the boss will usually be too strong for the few who try to kill him.
I like when the zerg does that. It scales up, but the Champs can’t kill me so it prolongs the fight. Now the a zerg is wasting all its time watching me end the event eventually. Worked well in Queensdale back in the day too.
Yes, the best battle against toxicity is to not give a spit what they say and go do what you want to do.
If you’re a PVP or WVW player, you have seen the huge decrease in player participation the last year. Assuming that a number of those players play those game modes exclusively, then those people have left the game entirely.
While not dead, those modes are no attracting much in the way of new blood.
The mistake was including stealth of any form in the game in the first place. Always a bad idea.
It is the worst mechanic ever introduced in an MMO.
Still though, thieves, are soft and squishy, but give decent bags if they don’t run away like the cowards we all know them to be.
We’ve not had many balanced matchups for the last few months. Two teams in a tier might be close, but a close three way is almost never seen.
1 up 1 down is not a great solution, but glicko rankings that mean nothing to tier placement isn’t working either.
Doesn’t matter. With player shifting we’re ending up with bloated servers just like we had before the linking. They may be going to the primary server of the link or the linked server, but the bloat is clearly there and Anet isn’t taking any steps to fix this primary problem with wvw.
My guess is that this (rewards) will accelerate the stacking of certain servers. Eventually, they’ll need to drop another tier and merge even more servers until they finally blow it up and reorganize wvw to enforce team balances.
Keep bandwagonning until their are only 2 servers left and more people can complain (from the bandwagonned server) that they have nobody to fight.
Problem is that there were in ve farmers karma training eotm whole day, so by using ranks to limit stuff you are aimply rewarding them
Its true it would reward the eotm train, but it will also draw others in for the goods. They may end up liking the game mode and move over to standard wvw. It could be a way to infuse new blood – we sure need it.
I have had some especially tough/fun 1v1 fights in EOTM. Its a good way to find players from servers that we don’t see much of. Of course, you run into the 1v4 where the 4 get crushed because they’re up levels spamming 1. Makes me sad, but I still appreciate their bags.
It is fun to head to ABL and watch the PVE’ers waiting for Harpy to just melt where they stand. Flattened a few of those puffballs myself.
Keep transferring so we only have one server left in the game with multitudes of people complaining that they have nobody to fight.
Solo. WvW roaming and thief sniping. Gank the zergling gankers before they make their move.
In PVE, I still prefer to go it alone, but the ‘boss’ monsters can’t be soloed. Teq doesn’t go down 1v1.
I know people will argue about EOTM being wvw, but this was funny in a cruel way www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7XU7tGrJKA
So as a roamer u dont like there allot of wats to escape from a zerg? Allot waus range precure jump see enemies coming to a camp? That u can litterly let a zerg chase u true the map? pretty pls explain how and why wuld roamer hate that map?
I already explained why I hate the map.
I still don’t want it removed. Let those who like it stay on it. Just don’t assume that someone who doesn’t like is a K-Training zergling.
Al u guys conplain about ure karma train cant move fast treu border and ure blobs when the lose a figt cant geth the dead poeple fast enough back on tag pls stop saying kitten abou desert borderland cause ure not good enoug to actelie play on it
Ouch, that’s tough to read.
You make false equivalencies and misguided conclusions.
As a roamer, I despise the DBL. Its not fun. Its not pleasant to look at. Red dots all die the same as they do in ABL, but at least there I enjoy the ambiance of dead thieves. In the DBL, dead thieves sort of get hidden in the blowing sand.
Seems there are people who want others to play their way. Whether its the DPS elitists or the DPS meter haters – both are demanding that the ‘other guy’ is doing it wrong.
As has been said. If you don’t like it, don’t do it and start your own group. If you somehow end up in a group you don’t want to be in, kindly say I’m outta here and move on.
