The artists at ANET must have a fetish for hip drapes. They’re everywhere!
Maybe an arena where guilds could fight it out…… wait for it
I disagree with the very premise of the OP. We are not all created equal, but ANET gives us equal opportunities to complete the content. Failure to do so is our issue regardless if it is real life, insufficient skill or any other of a myriad of excuses.
Otherwise have a special little snowflake slide bar that everyone can set for themselves. That slide bar will indicate the level of difficulty the individual user wants in order to acquire things in the game. The low setting is “Push one button, give me everything” to what it is now.
Someday, I hope we can go to the Isle of Janthir area and do some exploring. Based on what the characters said in the last LS, I think that hope may come to fruition before the next expansion.
Mostly, I’d like to know what the heck has happened/is happening in Elona. It was my favorite area of GW1. I’m hoping GW2 hangs around long enough that we finally get to go back.
There is clearly more information today, though the simple method had its charms too.
I was wondering: I can check with the team, of course, but perhaps the “free play” period was designed to allow people to get into the map, choose their location, and be ready to start a round of songs. If that was eliminated, might there be complaints about how we players are always joining in the middle of a session, which means we’d lose the ability to get maximum rewards? I’m just speculating here, but it crossed my mind.
Free Play is at the end, not at the beginning. After free play is over you get sent to a new map (or don’t if you get the error message and get stuck). Joining after the session is over is worse than joining in the middle of a session. You shouldn’t be able to join a session when it’s effectively finished already.
Exactly. If it were changed to let the instance start over again, problem solved. Just don’t push us to a new map and tell us its full. Actually find us an open map or start a new one.
The last chest is repeatable – I assume it gives more shards, so nobody if forced to wait for the next season.
Look again – they are full armor sets 6/6. Or, I’m not understanding your consternation.
I waited through the free play, it doesn’t reset the instance, it wants to toss me into another, and I get the ‘its full’ message even though I didn’t actually click on anything when the free play ended. Then, I left the instance, reenter bell choir and get put in another ‘free play’ round. Wash, rinse, repeat. Its a poor implementation of instance management.
Its an annoyance that they’re not going to do anything about.

Everyone had the same opportunity to earn the points as they were released. For whatever reasons (ranging from not owning the game to real life distractions to not giving a flying cat) they did not take advantage of those opportunities.
While I wouldn’t mind if they made earning points for past content available, I would rather they work on new content then working on placating the handful of AP die hards who can’t fathom not getting something.
Arenanet your Level 3 connection is taking some major packet loss. Your Telia connection appears to be fine when the routing fails via that path. Recommend swapping your primary and secondary circuits until the trouble is clear.
Psst OP, I think they have network admins working for them. I’m confident they know what to do
We’d like to think so.
Really bad voice acting in the current LS release is probably done to distract from the clichéd writing style.
The story has always left to many dangling plot lines that do not move at all. Did this release have any update on Ritlock, Margorie or the status of Zoja? Any new info on those anomalies?
The first LS# release had promise. The second went ho-hum. The latest was a flop from a story perspective. The map itself is slick which is the only win I see.
They sure upped the points in pvp awhile back and only gave a small bump in wvw when they straightened out the achievement levels. It would be nice to get more AP for wvw focused players to also get those free gems, gold and skins at the 5K multiplier marks.
Really make it vanilla, don’t put colors on the map objectives. The only way you can tell who owns it is by walking up to it (range 1200 or something like that).
I’d wager the vanilla build thing won’t ever be possible because of the combat engine they use. It takes forever to get a balance patch out of them, just think of the coding time they’d need to accomplish what you want – then they throw it away after a week.
Braham is the only one who isn’t being a wishy-washy coward. Lets get in there and start hitting things. This standing around talking about it is the wrong tack. I want to smash the ‘1’ key (sometimes the ‘2’ key) on something, not listen to NPCs jabber on and on.
More action, less drama!
Strategy is “drama”?
I play the game to make my character do something. However, most of the time, we’re forced (no skipping option) to listen to endless (and IMO unneeded) drama inducing dialog.

When you’re camping veteran harpy, it finally spawns and you get ganked by 2 thieves…. the rage man, the rage is so real.
The daily veteran is the best. I like waiting for a ganker thief to show up – so I can gank them. Though, to flatten those thieves like the squishy bugs they are, a well played Mesmer is a scary character to show up with.
I learned years ago that GW story telling is disjointed with inconsistent characters. Once you come to that conclusion, you can not get hung up on things like ‘details’.

The voice acting of the quaggans was distractingly bad! Its bad enough I don’t want to run any more characters through the story just so I can avoid having to hear them (yeah, I’ll turn off the sound for them if I do go through again).
That cutesy dragon is eye rolling, but I get that you have to sell things on TP.
The token male member of the ‘b’ team takes an out of character turn for the worse.
Rox still rules. Thanks for not messing her up.
The map is nice to explore at least.
I don’t trust her and would never appoint her to the role my character was forced to do by the writers.
Between the Taimi being used as little more than a ‘know-it-all’ plot device and Caithe being handed the one thing she should never be given, I’m convinced the story board for the living world is a mess.
Stop writing every single NPC as a clichéd as they are. Give us a few actual choices that mater instead of forcing us to forgive and forget what is unforgivable.

“….something the majority of WvW players were thrilled about”
The article goes subjective right away. Its nothing more than a long forum post that offers nothing.
I dislike the map and wouldn’t shed a tear if it were to disappear. However, there are others who enjoy that rotten map and I don’t want to deny them their fun. Options are a good thing.
The only reason anyone wants to duel in open world PVE is so they can show off and boost their ego.
And that’s the same reason that they will then use map chat to boast of their skills/leetness, and then the (sore) loser will respond/react, and then random players will ask them both to take their argument to PMs which, of course, they will not do. Result: salty map chat all round. Abuse, Mom insults, homophobic insults etc etc. Then there is the scenario where one player is using map chat to try to provoke someone into accepting a duel.
It’s all about ego. I’ve seen it in other games and it’s always ugly.
So no thanks.
Hammer, I’d like to introduce you to nail.
The chats would become more unbearable than they already are.
Quaggan is for lunch and little else (their pelts are neither soft or absorbent enough to be used for rags).
I’m sure they’re not ignoring the issue. Thats unfair.
It would be nice if we knew more about what is happening, but I’d rather they spend their time getting to the bottom of it.
Steve
Just because the current one is so lame.
I would rather they spend their development time on something other than any of those three things.
It might just be wiser to boycott wvw and hope for a company that can do population balance right in an RvR setting.
Never and i realy don’t want to.
Same here. I mostly roam around looking to gank the ganker thieves. Any server works for that.
Seeing that BG and JQ have opened up again, balance is not something that Anet actually cares about. This entire topic is nothing more than a ruse.
Everyone bandwagon on over and let the population dwindle further.
Nobody.
/15 characters
This puts the nail in the coffin of Anet’s claim to care about balance.
Might as well just condense everything to one server and let whoever logs on first PVD all the maps and then stand around wondering where the opposition went.
more stacking…. yay….
At the end of the day, its player behavior thats the hardest to control. Bandwagons happen for reasons that we all know and unless something can be done about that, no system is going to balance out given the mantra of playing with your friends and when you want.
Its not just one week its every other week. Which means every other week will be a blow out for higher tier servers which isn’t the same as it is now. Its very uncommon to see BG in Tier 2. That doesn’t happen too often but now imagine seeing BG in Tier 2 versus SBI. Now we have a major problem.
What problem? The BG bags are as good as anyone else’s and often easier to get!
Aside from that, one up – one down is still a bad idea with these massive population disparities. If that ever gets smoothed out then it would be worth considering.
So the problem is that you want them to drop faster? Believe me, if you keep playing you will eventually wind up with more than you can possibly spend. It sounds like you may have run for a few hours and just think you should have more. Sorry, but the drop rate is fine.
I concur, the rate of badge acquisition is good. The thing I’d like to see is more wvw specific gear/goods we could spend badges on.
I don’t get it… the graph you showed has MC’s having a very stable supply and demand over a full year of time. The price has not reached equilibrium yet since people continue to hoard coins instead of sell them. This will stop when they reach correct market value and the number of people selling them equals the number of people buying them.
If the price is rising that means people have more money they wish to spend then they do coins. This seems to be functioning exactly like it is supposed to. With a nearly constant supply over a years time people clear have coins to sell so I don’t see the “problem”?
In an open economy, supply and demand sets the price based on providers and users reaching equilibrium. As demand rises, more people become providers and new inventive ways to generate supply occurs. In the case of the game, Anet directly effects the supply (providers can’t come up with new ways to generate the goods – in this case, mystic coins) and the can effect the demand by releasing new items that require its use.
I’m not saying their system if flawed or broke, but the supply & demand is being effected by big brother Anets actions.
Hooray for the delete option.
Know-it-alls are entertaining to read.
This is not directed at anyone in this thread.
Hoarders are everywhere in this game (my wife is one of them). Constantly running out of bag space. Taken every storage slot in multiple guild vaults and are always bemoaning the lack of space. She and I have played since launch, have roughly the same playing hours, same number of legendaries, characters etc. but I have fifty open slots on each character and only use four bank tabs (though I did buy a few storage expanders). As a game hoarder, she just won’t sell anything.
Until they can overcome their hoarding behavior, they will always be complaining about space.
Bottomline is this: Anet must feel that at this point, for whatever reason, they don’t need to babysit the market anymore, so they aren’t. It’s on autopilot. Prices should eventually and truly represent supply and demand. OP doesn’t like that, only because he want’s cheap MC’s, not because it won’t work.
The caveat is that Anet adds new items that require mistic coins, but didn’t introduce a way to generate more to offset the new demand.
They don’t have to offset the new demand with a new supply, but it does add more grind for people who want the upscale items.
The number of hackers is so prevalent that I don’t bother reporting any more. It doesn’t feel like Anet GMs do more than a cursory clean up from time to time. Very discouraging.
I’ve never heard it called anything else besides Steve (and Horror of course). Cecil does not fit what-so-ever.
So far the cannons have made zero difference in WvW that I’ve seen.
Maybe the pvd crowd has some more obstacles to overcome than before, but a few change of tactics can overcome siege.
Anet needs to have a special snowflake item in the gemstore so people can get whatever trinket they need from game modes they don’t like.
Linking is good. Players stacking on one server or another is exacerbating population imbalances is bad. Keep the links but reshuffle linking more frequently.
I can’t stand Caithe. I don’t trust her. I never will. Its a shame that Anet is not letting my character turn her into coleslaw. She’s slaughtered the innocent. She back-stabbed her friends. She stole from me.
Traherne was annoying at times, but he should have lived and Caithe should have burned.
I finished making it and it looks good on everyone but that Asurans. Even Astralaria looks good on the little guy, but the Eureka looks much weaker.
I really hope Anet doesn’t waste valuable development time making mounts.
