They can’t show the tag and a guild at the same time but they can switch between the two.

Forgive my ignorance here but i also keep hearing that there is a forced 50/50 win rate that the system puts you in so shouldn’t the OP be winning some matches soon?

Two of my accounts have been right around the 50% mark, but the other…. holy cow its not even remotely close to 50.

On that account, I was above 50% until I got to the last tier in Sapphire. Then the loss streaks of 13, 11 several 9s occurred. A few were competitive and we came out on the short end – it happens. But most of those were monster blow outs. Sometimes by over 300 points. It might get a 2 game win streak, then right back to one blow out loss after another.

It took almost 100 games to finally cross the last tier of sapphire. Compared to last season, on this account, its been a matchup nightmare.

So, same player playing the same classes on different accounts is getting inconsistent matchups. Fix your system Anet.

Chak must be related to the Karka. Silly bugs need to be stomped.

Plop those crafting stations in the PVP waiting zone. Same zone in and zone out effect as wvw but doesn’t actively take a slot from someone who actually wants to play the game mode.

The DBL is a terrible place to play, but the folks who like it should have the opportunity to go there just as much as I do the alpine maps. Keep them both active so people don’t have to wait months to get the map they want.

Anyone out there want to team up. I’ve been on a win-lose-lose-lose streak for three weeks (since I got to the last tier of sapphire)

They’re probably not going to tell us to prevent people from stacking servers before the merger (in essences skewing the pairing before it starts).

My biggest fear is that they’re going to have even fewer explorable zones then the pitiful few we got with HOT.

I’ve come to grips with the mediocre story telling, but the lack of new open world areas is really sad.

For the same reason people take the time to customize their characters armor, dye’s, hairstyle, display title and any other visual aspect of their character.

I still don’t find any logic in removing the Gift of Battle from the vendor.

I don’t understand why they couldn’t leave the vendor as it was. Sure, add the reward track, but why does that mean that the vendor option had to go?

The drama and arrogance in some of the above posts is quite comical and I agree with Letoll – there is pure gold in this thread.

It turns out the DBL was a piece of kitten leavings and between the repeated calls for Anet to do something about them (fix or remove) they were removed in favor of the Alpine BLs (yay!) at least for now.

There was a recent poll – you may have seen an in-game mail about it – and we’ll probably end up with the DBL and ABL cycling every quarter.

i never said WvW is dead right now, ofcourse there are alot of people playing … but there was used to be way more people playing than this… and we did not need a merge for it

there used to be 24 servers total….

12 servers got annoyed cause anet transfered them forcefully…

12 servers got so much happy cause they got a entire server to fight for their war.. SO THEY ALL LOG IN AND PLAY AND HAPPY!! oh yea those happy servers are the top servers expect alot of population… adding a few bodies from the guest servers it makes it so much alot…

but if you really actually look or actually be in the 12 guest servers…. its very less.. you dont see them playing anymore since after this merge…..

anet should just make it all new world names… should be better and attracts more players…

With the eventual relinking, the links won’t necessarily be the same and there could be 3 or more servers linked together. That would potentially require a whole new set of names each time things are linked.

Eventually, they’ll come up with a few good ideas to present to us to help each server keep its identity in the link (I hope).

I voted 2 alpine, 1 desert simply to minimize the damage that kitten map does to WvW.
If they had clearly stated they were willing to do a weekly rotation I would have voted for that, but 3 months of that terrible map would decimate the population just like it did last time.
I would rather permanently have 3 out of 4 maps be playable all the time and be stuck with 1 garbage map, rather than see another mass exodus because the queues make EBG impossible to get into and the deserted bl is all we have to play on.

This in no way means I prefer having 1 dbl.

I would prefer that the DBL go into the dustbin of history, never to be seen again. At least by having the Alpine BL available all the time, I won’t be tied to just EB for the three months that the awful DBL would be in the rotation.

Its a bummer that they’ve stopped. It’ll be a long time for me to bridge the 2K gap to the 30K level to get those 400 gems. I’d like to keep earning just to get those.

It’ll be interesting to see how the mixed BL poll goes. I’d rather that the desert BL get deleted and forgotten – but we’ll see how it goes when it comes up.

Its a false premise to think that because we didn’t like the map, that we hadn’t learned the map. We knew the map and a lot of us found that the DBBL was NOT FUN. I was not a fan of the aesthetics either, but I can live with that if the playtime on the map were enjoyable.

I know they’re rotating it back in. That’ll be a few months where they’ll be empty of our guild again.

I believe there was a post recently that there won’t be a WvW season for the foreseeable future. Aside from that, your write-up is asking for Anet to manage a GvG system.

They stopped development on legendary weapons, I doubt they’re going to put resources in to developing a whole new system.

My wife and I voted an emphatic ‘YES’. I’m hoping that they reshuffle the pairings more frequently. They should leave some servers unpaired if their population is large enough already or potentially putting three servers together.

You just have to wait it out if you want to join those stacked servers. Otherwise, you’re just taking your chances by server hopping to the linked lower tiered server.

I’m not a fan of blobbing so I don’t frequently take part. However, I see no reason to force my preferences on others. If they want to blob, then blob!

I think its a bit premature to say ‘most’ people since 86 total have voted.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be ok if they moved the reset time back an hour or two, but just like you, it would only be convenience for me but perhaps make others west of us unhappy.

Oh you are from the west… I mean you are from West you shouldn’t be complaining because your argument is completely irrelevant not to sound rude. I know 6pm pst is rush hour in California but that’s not the time I expect you guys to sleep. 10pm est gets pretty late for East Coast players and if you work on weekends I expect most of us to get in bed around 10:30 or 11ishpm. Where if you are on West coast you still have the whole kittening night play.

No, I said I was in the East in an earlier post. I also said that 10pm is hardly to late for me. The point of my post was what convenient for you or me will probably be an inconvenience for someone else.

:D good dig, but I still don’t get it. At the risk of getting the thread locked(!) Yes, very bad week this week. Although, interestingly, until last night we were still winning by kills and kill ratios and that is still really tight (http://wvwintel.com/#2010).

But otherwise we have, anyway, been deliberately trying to avoid nightcapping and the top international server spot as it just leads to bandwagoning and poor fights. At one point last year it was just about impossible to get any fights in the borders because we were so dominant and, if we didn’t try really hard, almost all keeps but enemy garri’s were ours and T3.

However, even if you disregard all that, I don’t know what the tournaments have got to do with any of it.

The short answer is server stacking. As soon as the tournaments were announced, people banded together to stack servers in each of the divisions to win the ‘better loots’.

I’m happy with change back of the reset time. I’m in EST and its certainly not to late for me. We all have different schedules and its unfortunate that its to late for you, but based on the queues being seen on most maps for reset, I’d say the time is about perfect.

I really don’t see this ever happening. Scaling content that’s designed for a group down to a single player would change the very nature of the content. Raids specifically revolve around players taking certain roles through the fight. That would be impossible by yourself.

GW1 was more ‘fun’ for me than GW2 has been overall. Take it for what its worth, but most of the things that drag GW2 down usually revolve around the mediocre story telling (not that GW1 was great).

Whenever I interact with the hero challenge, it just tells me "The rest of the meat appears inedible. It doesn’t look like most common meats, either. Mysterious. Definitely mysterious. " but I have no mystery meat in my inventory.

I tried going to the character selection screen and it did the same thing.
I closed the game and then went back in, still the same.

They’re also available from the TP for dirt cheap.

I find nothing in the OP that I agree with and the justifications used to be subjective at best.

The linking and the return of the Alpine BL has brought several of my guild mates back into wvw. From that subjective perspective, keep doing what your doing Anet!

Role playing?!

Aside from that ludicrous idea (who’s going to judge if/how someone is ‘role playing’), the contribution in PVE would probably could line up with the daily activities. Crafting would be tough – in wvw and pvp, you can jump in with what you have, crafting requires that you actually participate in whatever mastery they pick, materials and potentially leveling in that mastery. Puzzles I assume are jps and would probably fit nicely here. Exploration would be problematic to tell if someone is exploring an area they have already been.

If server 1 has 40 people and server 2 & 3 have 5 each, server 1 is going to steam roll every BL and tick 600+ A different time of the day each server is running 80 and all tick about the same. That smaller group of people has a bigger impact on the overall scoring than they should. The larger group is still going to outscore the other servers, but not so far as to keep the others from having a chance to compete.

Off hours, in my opinion, has just as much right to effect the score equally as “prime hours.” Especially since all the servers are not balanced in what Anet is dictating as “prime hours.” They put in just as much time and effort as the rest of us to work towards their server’s success and that shouldn’t be discredited in any way shape or form. Someone earlier in the thread told servers with low NA population (which includes mine) to “buy more NA coverage.” With these proposed changes not only are you telling what coverage my server does have that they matter less, but you are hurting what little NA coverage we do have more by weighting that timezone more. And I’m sorry….but neither of those situations sound like situations that is encouraging my server to push for a win more/show up to fight/etc.

And I won’t even touch on how much I hate the idea of “buying” coverage and how much that practice has screwed the game already.

I’m not talking NA or prime time. When a server vastly outnumbers another for a slice of time, those people playing have a disproportionate effect on the score than their server mates. 40 v 5 v 5 people ticking 600 is rewarding more points over time per person than the 80 v 80 v 80 ticking 200.

Opportunity cost – spend time and money working in DX12 or write content that you can sell……. Yeah, I’m wagering that they’ll look at it, but their efforts are going to be on content that’s going to make them money. I seriously doubt there are very many people who said, “Its not using DX12? Then I’m not buying it.”

Its been so fun not having to deal with the simplistic DBL and the PVD squads. It’ll be a sad day when that inferior map comes back.

The best you can hope for (other than follow mcarsell’s advice) is to wait for a few other people at the spawn point and venture out together to overcome the gankers.

You are so wrong. My guild mates and I are playing on our BL which we haven’t done in several months. We hate the simplistic and tedious desert BL and appreciate the superior Alpine BL.
