That begs the question – whats a contributor? Scouting? Standing around doing nothing, but taking up a slot? Most caps? Most defenses? Spikes? Hours tagged?

No, server mergers won’t work. If NA primetime has map queues now, how bad will they be when more people are added to the mix?

Putting servers together does little to nothing about the uneven distribution of players at various time of the day.

No, do not want them right now. No offense but the WvW crowd apparently hates change and 3 years of Alpine was enough, I love the change and have had great fights in the new borderlands but the only problem with them is the fact that more people would rather avoid them than try and learn them, moving around the new maps is not bad once you’ve learned your way around a little.

The issue is that IT IS NOT FUN!

It seems pretty clear from the feedback, the kills/deaths by map shows lots of people feel the same way.

I’m not a fan of this either. I play through the personal story with my wife on all our characters and almost without fail she gets killed and off to the box. Then I spend the next few dozen minutes finishing the story on my own.

Instead of a permanent ‘penalty box’ make it have a five minute timer or some such thing so people in there have a shot at rejoining the story without requiring the surviving players to intentionally die.

The new BL is not a fun map to play on.

My friends and I play the game for entertainment and the new BL fails (completely) at that.

Why can’t you do both? I think the OPs comments are perfectly reasonable and I agree. I do DS because I think it is fun, but also like to get the appropriate loot as well. I’m not complaining here as for the most part I’ve been happy with the balance, but didn’t notice the OPs issue. I think it is valid to look at those drop rates.

I wasn’t saying that his idea was bad. I was just pointing out that people are not only in there to farm.

Its a feature I doubt anyone would miss if it were removed.

The expansion (except for the disastrous WvW changes) was far superior to any LS chain. Don’t stop making them.

I’ve pretty much given up ever expecting wvw to be as fun or engaging as it used to be. Whenever they make a change, they might take one small step forward, but then take ten steps back with the next one.

Time to download BnS and see how entertaining it is.

It just boggles the mind that there are people who still think “this time they’ll get it right.” If someone at work constantly and consistently failed at his job, would your boss say, “he failed over and over and over again, never learning from his mistakes, but this time, he’ll get it right.”

You’re right that history certainly should diminish confidence.

However, we can still cross our fingers and hope for the best.

When I read that this was getting added to the game, it sounded to good to be true.

After reading the price per slot, it was. No thanks, too steep a price for the minimal convenience (IMO).

She reminds me of Wesley Crusher from ST:TNG. The young know-it-all who saves the day with whatever technobabble the writers need to have them come up with.

TD takes time to get used to and your first foray into it is going to leave you lost and confused.

I remember them saying that the cinematics can’t be skipped because of the underlying design. They move resource around and put things in place during the time the playback is running.

I’d say that was a unfortunate design decision.

I’d wager that dueling would cause all sorts of havoc with events and monster scaling. Imagine the logic to manage a dozen duelers at the foot of Tequatl or in the midst of the DS event chain.

Its the best staff skin in the game. Not nearly the best weapon skin in the game.

Its meaningless data – nothing about the deaths/kills has has any indication of what the battles looked like. It could have been 20 vs 3 for all we know.

You mistakenly assume his proposition is a positive. It is not. That is why his solution is not ‘pro’. The entire premise if faulty.

The idea is terrible. And given Anet’s turn around time on ideas that are actually worthwhile, its safe to assume this rotten one will never see the light of day.

Sometimes I stop in the home BL to make use of the crafting stations (there’s never a queue on the map even with a 50 man queue on EB) before moving on to EB or EOTM if I have to wait out an EB queue. I don’t want an artificial timer locking me in a zone I don’t want to play in.

It sure looks like gliding was something they were going to put in there, but they probably decided they didn’t want the headache of people who have HoT gliding and those that didn’t buy the expansion. Gliding would make the BL more tolerable.

I’d be ecstatic! The alpine BL was a whole lot more fun to play on than the dessert one.

I did laugh out loud at that. They’re more concerned with someone talking about a movie they had nothing to do with than with a game mode that’s been hemorrhaging players since new atrocious BL map hit us.

I don’t know if I was on the same IP as you were, but we burned down ogre lane on his second pop and I didn’t get the ogre defense achievement. I wondered the same thing; if we needed to do it on the third pop to get it.

Anet just loves to require you to play all their game areas to earn the neat weapons & armors. These ‘adventures’ are neither adventurous or entertaining to me, but they have to be tolerated to get the things I actually want.

Its nuts how far they go out of their way to make people do things they don’t find fun to earn the trinkets they want.

While I like the new maps, I was disappointed with how small an area of the continent they opened up.

That would be a mess. If the servers you’re combining already have a stacked time (OCX, NA etc) they’ll have even a longer queue to get on EB.

I created a free account a few months back – and the first time I did Teq with it, it got a horde. I feel I supported Anet in trolling all the people on the map when I pinged it.

Is anyone actually getting the Flawless Ancient Karka Husk from that chest?

I’ve ran it a few times over the last few days (both with auto looting on and off) and still haven’t gotten it. Nobody in the maps I’ve asked was either trying to get it or said they didn’t get it. I can’t progress any further until I get it.

I disliked them, but did the best I could to get the mastery points I needed. Now I can ignore them.

If I wanted to play a Nintendo type game, I would be playing Nintendo instead of guild wars.

Its frustrating enough to have to grind out the materials (exploring and combat is a journey – farming is not) but the bugs are really, really getting out of hand.

I’m still shaking my head that they use Reddit more than their own forums to say anything.
