There are a lot of people with entitlement issues.
I hadn’t used my ranger in a long time so I though I’d do some roaming in EOTM. Holy cow, taking down 3-5 uplevels at the same time is a nice little diversion. I didn’t realize how totally infested the place is with them.
Almost want to take a few guildies in there and do a little hunting.
First day, about an hour and a half.
Of course they hype their product – as they should! Its a business!
Sorry that you’re unable to get a drop for the beta. RNG gets most of us – no matter how entitled we feel we are.
The sense of entitlement with the OP is strong.
Free transfers will not balance anything. Its more likely fairweathers on servers that are on the losing end week after week will head to ‘greener’ pastures. In other words, it’ll just exacerbate the problem.
You went through a time warp as you move around the city. In the one, he hasn’t been promoted to Captain yet.
It would be nice if my character could be left handed like me – the only time it feels somewhat right is when I duel wield.
However, I’d rather they spend their time on new content than add a ‘which hand is primary’ feature.
The slow, inevitable, locking of tiers is well underway in NA.
While the players do the stacking – its Anet that sets the rules and has ultimate control over the server balancing. Since the player base as a whole can’t/won’t do anything about it. Its up to the owners of the environment to develop and implement something to mitigate these huge wvw player base disparities.
Why? Why do they need to do anything? Do you think if players were artificially forced out of populated servers onto lesser populated ones, that many would quite wen they are ripped out of there established community? As I see it, there is reason to believe artificially forcing players into servers they didn’t chose, will cause the over all population to decline greatly.
Well, duh, its their game – of course they should do something.
The population mismatch is having a direct effect on the entire game mode.
I also never said how they should change the game – that’s your strawman.

What do you get for this title? A free precursor? I just don’t see what the point of title farming is. Am I supposed to ooh and ahh when I see this title, when I know whoever has it didn’t even earn it?
There are some dedicated AP farmers out there. If they can earn a point doing it – they’ll do it come heck or high water.
FA 0% chance of T3
YB <1% chance of T3
SoS <10% chance of T3T2 is almost locked.
T1 locked, T2 almost locked.
That’s a statement that the ratings system/match making algorithm is poor.
Occasionally our random team is competitive (or beats) one, but for the most part, its a pretty lopsided match. I don’t blame the players for grouping up and going in together. This is the match making doing it. I should add that seeing the premades isn’t frequent, but it sure stands out when it does.
Maybe have separate queues where those grouped together have to wait for other groups and the solo folks get matched with other solo ones.
I’d like more underwater content. I miss the old pvp map too – but the class balance underwater is so bad I can see why they yanked it (as opposed to fixing the balance)
I still want to know why the leaders of Tyria thought putting that twig in charge was a good idea.
The best use of Sylvari is for kindling.
I’m still surprised they haven’t recycled SAB since so many would be happy to see it.
I was never a fan, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want it back for everyone else. Since they have this huge gap with nothing new going on – why not plug it in simply for the fun people have with it?

Going into EOTM with a few friends and smashing the up levels is great fun. As long as you keep an eye out for the Karma train its easy to mow down groups triple your size.
Make it a place to pay a price for fast leveling.
It seems that the moment I enter the PvP lobby, I start getting bombarded, over and over by these guys. Extremely irritating to not be able to read the chat window. Please give us an option to block all whispers.
They’ve needed to give us a way to filter conversations based on messages we want blocked with with key words we choose (such as the common ones used by the gold sellers). Its a no brainer that we just never get…..

This is a bad idea that isn’t going to cause more grief than its going to help.
I have no pity for FA. You all brought the long queue times upon yourself. That’s what happens when you buy guilds so you can have 24/7 coverage on all borderlands. Running into a 80 man blob of FA no matter which borderland i port to is not fun. Can’t wait till the day FA finally implodes when all the bandwagoners decide to hop.
The Magumma bandwagon is in full swing. It might siphon off a few players from FA too.
If you’ve been in the game that long – you know exactly what you can spend them on.

Anet certainly didn’t spend any time thinking about the reward structure for WvW (it only takes a third grader to see the ridiculousness of Yak Slapper). Why would anyone be surprised that they cutout the wvw mapping and replaced it with nothing.
Sorry, you won’t get a lot of sympathy as there are tens of thousands of us living in RNG hell.
We all know the reason why they did it and it had nothing to do with ‘aligning’ anything.
I’d be more satisfied if they told the truth and just came out and said they were making the change to make it easier for the general population to get it done.
Once again, PVE whiners win and WvW gets nothing.

“PVE Whiners”. Because whining never happens in WvW. I can’t say the “people should suffer because I suffer” argument is appealing.
You are mistaken. Not that they need to ‘suffer’ its that Anet spent programming time, testing etc. to make an needed change that could have been better spent elsewhere.
The best idea i saw on this was just split the rewards
Give WvW 1 gift of exploration, and PvE 1 gift as well.
PVE is always babied and WvW has had and will always have mediocre rewards – don’t expect that to change.
The change is something to be ‘endured’ instead of something that added any value
Would love to see NSP and SBI matched up without some T2 server thrown in…

the official word is they can’t make some of the cutscenes skippable because those are the ones that generally involve characters moving around and things being triggered in response to them moving around
I would call this a poor excuse, I’d be happy with a skip button and a shortwritten summary at the end, or just a simple pointer to the next quest…well at least until the quality of writting improves.
Acually I very often just went afk when the game was waiting for some stupid chat between NPCs to be finished, and I was always able to complete the next quest.
While it is a bad design decision IMO, its not an excuse – it is how it is.
My guess is that we won’t ever see that change.
It makes you wonder what they were thinking when they picked the values to earn those achievements.
There are also the persons who don’t like those wings so they haven’t spend money on them.

There is a difference between ‘wasting a resource’ and hoarding a digital material.
These threads about removing wvw from world completion are like T2 zergs in T3 – never ending and multiplying!
They didn’t give a hoot when CD, NSP and IOJ were pounded relentlessly, they won’t care now that SBI, Darkhaven and HOD have joined the mix.
This has turned into a matchup thread instead of a request for Anet to send a dev onto the server to see rotten T3 still is (months and months on end). Now, the thread will get removed =(
Of course, if he’s intending to play with his friends in WvW, its a big problem.
Your best bet is to try at different times of the day. Sometimes, the server won’t read as full.
They need to improve their logic. Quit working from the top down and work to keep such massive glicko separation in a matchup from happening (unless their is simply no other choice).
The problem is just that, there is no other choice with the way things are right now. The difference between servers even 1-2 ranks separate are just that big.
At this stage, they would need to completely rework the entire WvW game mode (points, coverage, 6+vs6+, siege, etc++) in order to make this work with the populations and population disperancy.
Because no matter how you try to shuffle servers around. there are at this stage 7 “gold” servers. In matches of 3 servers. Where does the 7th one go ? And there is a world of difference between server #7 and #8. So what are you going to do, tell server #7 that they can’t play at all this week ? Any system MUST place them in a match-up, but there are no good candidates. At all. And if the tell server #7 that they can’t play, then we’re a server short, so 2 other servers would also have to skip that week.
Also, the more #7 “farm” #8+#9, the greater chance they have (glicko) to not roll back into T3 the next week. If they just send 90% of their players to EotM for a week, and tries to play to an even score, they’re losing glicko rating like crazy, and will likely be stuck where they are. They don’t want that (and neither do you).
TLDR: Kitten if you do, and kitten if you don’t. Either ANet redesigns the whole basics of WvW, or players have to self police and even out population somehow.
DH was nearly 40 glicko points higher than us. How in the heck did we jump them to get matchup up with SoS? Its because they don’t mitigate the glicko differences except between T1 and T2. And, if there was ever a spot to not work on the difference, that would be the place.
Flip the logic, and work from the bottom up. Yes, a few servers (mine included) would get boned but it would help limit the number of go rounds in the Tier of hades.
Watching IOJ and NSP suffer for months. Now DH, HOD and SBI moving into that torture chamber, you’d think that Anet would have made at least a token effort to do something. Kitten kitten kitten kitten kitten

- Every server gets a RNG +/-100 temp glicko rating.
- This becomes the ratings for match-up.
- Which means that server #1 can’t be matched up with server 4 because of glicko differences.
- Server #1 takes #2+#3 as the only servers within its range.
- Same with #4, random up between 5,6,7. Let’s say 4+6+7 this week.
- Then server #5, kicked out of T2, no other servers in near glicko rating. So just grabs the next two in the list (8+9), as they are likely the closest (not close, closest!).
- The 8+9+10+11 ranked servers is separated by less than 21 glicko points last week, just imagine how much a +/-100 can alter that outcome!

For those suggesting HoD and SB work together, I don’t think you realize just how lopsided this matchup is. Even if we could somehow coordinate, and get everyone from both servers on the same page (which there is no mechanism to do that) Yaks still out numbers HoD and SB combined 2:1
The thing that grinds my gears is that the difference between the top of T1 and the bottom of T2 is 250 glicko ratings. But, nobody in T1 or T2 ever get matched up. The difference between YB and SBI/HOD is 350 glicko……
Why not open up the possibility for T1 and T2 to intermingle instead of just throwing T4 servers to the wolves?
