A precusor drop—- I wish and have been playing from the beginning. I did get an exotic the other day, but generally crap drops. Even with magic find boons and luck at 82%, mostly junk. Other players seem to get lots.
I firmly believe the RNG is flawed and doesn’t work equally for all players regardless of assurances and comments that there is nothing wrong with the RNG. Maybe that’s true, but for me, I can’t be convinced that I am just unlucky and there are no other factors at play.
Agree, if it’s you 1st character—it’s not the way to do it. I got two characters lvl’d the old way (story, maps/events/hearts ect.) and you miss alot by just farming.
Once there —sure, farm and ride the trains--you really must to help with the grind and help with the RNG and DR.

Oh really? I never knew “dev call outs” are against forum rules, in that case won’t happen again.
And thanks wanze!(BTW I did this sort of call out before and the specific dev actually responded and never noted me that, I really should sit and read the rules soon)
Very recent change
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Update-on-Forum-Moderation-Enforcement/first#post3036871
Also-as others have said do it at your own risk and if scammed, no Anet help.
PvE:
1: Loot RNG and DR.
2: Class Balance (focus on Rangers and Pets)
3: Rewards (For anything in the game.)
And please fix the tearing on my Ranger—-(or all characters that has it) right leg comes right through the coat.
I have experienced many many vets and champs that do not drop anything. Recently I killed a champ in Orr with 1 other player—-niether of us got a drop.
The explantions above are true WHEN and IF there is a drop when you qualify for the loot, the truth of the matter is they do not always drop stuff.
Zenguy, I’m sure that this question belongs in your email conversation with customer support.
Actually not. They are legitimate concerns/questions and the rules need to be clearly stated. As it stands an overzealous moderator or perhaps a mod who misinterprets a post due to a language problem could have a disasterous result. Clear rules regarding posts as well as posted moderator rules would be welcome. As it is now, mods are anonymous and can’t be questioned as to how they issued a ban/infraction etc when the ‘hammer’ is used in situations when it wasn’t needed and the posts intent was misinterpreted. Of course there are posts when it quite clear that a warning should be issued. There should be a way to challenge a decision as well.
Guild names or party names only option would be a welcome addition, as well as automatically turning of all names during mega events——-even if you don’t lag out —you can see anything with all those names grouped together.
Are ascended items dropping less?
I would not know, as I have never had one drop ever and neither as anyone I know in game…
99.99% of GW2 players think ascended weapon drops and precursors a myth, spread around by Anet and a few players, ‘conspiring’ with them…
Hey, don’t shut the messenger, just saying what everyone says ingame chat…
Ascended?? I wish, heck I can barely rememeber my last exotic being dropped—as for a precursor—nada. They are all myths from my experiences.
Except you can’t reforge ascended stuff into random stuff.
Just submit a ticket, maybe ANet will refund it. There have been cases where they did.
Agree—support ticket is the way to go. A few have done the same thing due to the lack of clarity while purchasing at the vendor.
There was another thread about this and others reported that Anet will refund through a support ticket.

Just wish all names/titles ect would auto turn off during any big event. It really looks like crap and ruins the experience regardless of how good your rig is.
Dear OP,
This is a huge problem in the game… but the game is all about the level 80.
I say that tongue and cheek, every game is the same bs with this topic.
Getting a dungeon with out being 80 just plain stinks, I have had the same treatment just this past week. Sorry your not 80… GOOD BYE.Or do you have a 80? get on it. Umm no .. i’m playing this toon for a reason that i want to level it up and enjoy the content.
Lame. Also I have seen more people doing crappy things that that game allows them to do in dungeons. Makes me wonder if devs play that game even. :/
The worst is kicking someone at the end and then selling your spot to highest bidder or giving to a friend/guild memeber to get the end reward and achievement. They (devs) need to review many things about the doing dungeons.
To put it in a nutshell: STOP kicking lower levels out of your groups, just because it will take 10 minutes longer…. Lets be a good community and be friendly to everyone!!
I’d say you should join a group of level thirtysomethings if you wanna do the dungeon. Otherwise, it’s not fair to expect people to carry you through the dungeon. You know that you will die and do little damage, so you are either clearly expecting the rest of the group to do things for you, or you don’t expect it to take just ‘10 minutes longer’
Can you find people lvl 80 who come along with you? of course you will, there’s always a kind spirit when you need it, but don’t expect everybody to be that kind spirit.
Last line should read-there may be an unselfish spirit when you need it, but don’t expect most to be unselfish.
I believe if you add a gem etc to the slot. Lots come without the additional ruby, flower etc.
Uh I have a topic for you as well. It is called RNG
I don’t mind some sort of RNG element in a game. It makes you open chests etc. with some amount of anticipation.
However: ……..
I feel I lack something outside the RNG. I am not a lucky person. I do however play with someone that seems to be blessed by the RNG gods. Or in his words: “I have silly RNG luck, I have always had silly RNG luck in games”.
We do the same events, the same dungeons etc. I have more magic find than he does, I even play more hours a day than he does, but since the greatest rewards come from RNG…. Well, it doesn’t really matter how much I play or don’t play. It is not that I am jealous of him in that regard, we have played together for more that 5 years and we share a bank, materials, recipes etc. anyway, but I do think it shows the flaws in the RNG system.I have played this game since February and yesterday I got my 6th exotic drop ever (which sells for the impressive amount of 1.20g) In the meantime, he got 20+. One, which sold for nearly 200g.
I think it adds to the problem that we now have ascended items. Those are not just cosmetic enhancements, those are actually +stats enhancements. Whether you gain those weapons through drops or through earning gold and buying the materials of the TP, it would help if your income to a higher extend was based on your effort. Outside chopping wood and mining materials, it is all about RNG. I would love to discuss how to possibly change that.
RNG would be a great topic to discuss!
Chris
This post genuinly made me sad. Well done Reesha, you wrote that really well explaining one of the biggest disheartening things in this game. The huge RNG aspect of this game so far, continues to make so many people just feel terrible.
My biggest one has to be when i opened (and mostly paid for) thousands upon thousands of coffers to get a ticket for a jade skin. My friends got so concerned by how much i spent on them, that towards the end of the chance for getting them they started sending me all theirs. On the last batch of a couple hundred my friend had, he sent me them wishing me all the luck…and on the very last 2-4…i got one!
Great that on my last opportunity that i got one, but it just felt wrong spending so much. When my friends had a few drop for them and they hadnt opened a huge amount in comparison.
If there is gonna be RNG, the gap between needs to be alot milder. Or like you said, there needs to be less of it and/or other ways to aquire.
I too believe RNG needs to be addressed so that it functions in an equitable for all players. This includes all drops. I’ve not seen many exotics for lately (1 or 2 if I remeber right) but I read posts of people getting them continually and others 0. Threads I read seem to reflect that this is the way it works, and if you don’t get drops, that’s just the way it works and you are just having bad luck. Well,in my case, if it wasn’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all.
There are timers—they let kmow when the pre-events in the chains start.
The FE timer will let you know about ‘destroy chaos material’ etc. For the wurm it will let you know when Gamarien is ready to walk, or grawl are attacking to start maw chain. etc. The timers are very accurate.

Pick you region and your server and away you go.
Hopefully the devs are reading between the lines of most of the posts in the thread.
Although they may be funny, tongue in cheek, sarcastic, there is a genuine feeling that alot of players are tired of RNG and poor/limited/empty drops. People seem to accept it and actually expect little to change.
Justin Timberlake.
The question is what’s in the box, not in the closet.
OK—that one wins the chuckle of the day award.
Nothing in the box the 1st 100 times you open it—then you get 1 blue/2 greens and a locked Black Lion Chest.
Guardian. Easy play. Easy to carry PUGs.
Rangers are good in sPvP, decent in wvw, and that’s about it.
Rangers are great for PvE.
expansion=new maps,more heart quest,more dynamic events,more npcs,new tier of armors added,more time gated crafting,more vistas and poi.
Throw in quaggans and I bet all the 10 – 15 and 50 – 80 year old age groups playing this game will descend upon it like a hungry lion on a limping gazelle.
+1 so true.
- 2 so untrue
and of course there are the trolls from the otherside of the spectrum, those that attack/put down anyone who makes a comment that is critical of anet or the game. Which is equally unhealthy, btw.
I’d like this new dungeon if the first boss wasn’t so hard, and if the annoying puzzles were removed. There’s no point for that ooze and electric floor puzzle. They only serve to frustrate people. It’s lame.
Seeing what they can add to frustrate people seems to be the only way the devs think now.
A new area to explore is what is needed and not modelled after ORR with the cheap mobs and respawns. Some original, something new not something borrowed or, in the case of the new weapons, something blue.
The whole targeting system haas been bad since day one. Disabling it isn’t the answer. ANet fixing it is—like they said they were going to do.
It’s been reported and it’s being worked on. But it sure is taking a long time.
See this
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Fire-elemental-again/first#post2942528
While you are working on it please add some more appropriate boss loot to the steam ogre?
He’s been neglected for so long now…(Also megadestroyer still has no dragonite ore….)
ktnxby
Add an ultimate fighter cage around the platform while you are at it. Please.
Hey folks,
We’re working on a fix for Fire Elemental.
For those that are reporting issues with Golem Mark II – is the exact same issue occurring?
Thanks!
Any updates on when it will be fixed. It’s still happening. It also affect the Matrix key as well—can’t activate it because of the it.
Thanks.
Thank goodness.
I can get in to the main at any time, even if the event has started and has been on for a while. No overflow, infact I was only put in the overflow once since the event was added. (ET).
(edited by Blude.6812)
It’s been happening for a while across multiple servers, and apparently they are working on it
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Fire-elemental-again/first#post2930203
It sure is taking a while to fix though.
Kinda agree, I wish mags like PC gamer would re—review the game after it’s 1st year. I think that it wouldn’t be getting a repeat of the positive review that they 1st presented.
So many people that are just better and want you to know by insulting 90% of the player base. Actually GW would be much better served if these elitist fanboy trolls would quit and move on to something else. Please!! Better for the community aand the game.
(edited by Blude.6812)
One thing I would urge all people that have given up on the encounter to do is stop going there, to make it easier for the people that are still motivated to form up together.
Nah—got to get my daily ‘There Be dragons’—lol
FE has bing like this for a few days on Eredon also.
AFK people might also be a problem but that is a problem common to all events along with the inability to scale back down. It is just more noticeable here.
In over a year playing GW2, I have not seen any event other than this one where people AFK were a problem.
Ahhhh—you forget about Dragon Ball.
FWIW, mini-games are instanced content, not open world events.
True, but anet would have been even more aware of the problems that afk’rs create because of the complaints they received, which suggest to me they ignored the problem, they don’t know how to fix it, or it would take time to fix it and don’t want to commit resources.
Agree-Queensdale is the place for vets to be done quickly—the vet oaks respawn fast too. There vet bears, ettins and a boar close to (Phinney WP). Go over the Champ Area and there are a few more vet boars. Also because there is usually a big group running —you will have a few people likely to help ya.
Jumping Puzzles-—-> http://dulfy.net/2012/09/16/gw2-jumping-puzzles-guides-guild-wars-2/
They are rated by difficulty there also. I generally don’t bother with them( not because the puzzles aren’t good-I just am not a good jumper—lol), there are so many other ways to get the monthly that I find quicker and easier.
(edited by Blude.6812)
Im quite sure that all servers can muster 100 ppl to defeat tequatl
Yeah most servers can…. the problem however is a not being able to kick all the Leechers who don’t even read Map Chat. Even in orr temple and wvw zergs you get dozens of these people who do nothing but suck & die. (a lot of them are Rangers & poorly geared Warriors if you look at Anet’s own Class demo put out recently)
Once all those people stop showing up, usually a decent server will succeed… assuming all of their people went +Power gear, and enough of them are using an Ascended
Ahh more Ranger misinformation, wish peeps would quit spreading just how bad they mistaken believe rangers are. And even if you feel it’s the gospel truth, any character of any class should have the a chance to succeed at an event as long as they are able to play their toon properly. What about afks, overflow, can’t see AOE because of water, using 3rd party programs etc.
The problem is with the event as it is designed—pure and simple. It wasn’t a positive experience for a variey of reasons for some players, others like the challenge even though the drops are crap-but don’t put all the blame on players that aren’t as capable as you.
AFK people might also be a problem but that is a problem common to all events along with the inability to scale back down. It is just more noticeable here.
In over a year playing GW2, I have not seen any event other than this one where people AFK were a problem.
Ahhhh—you forget about Dragon Ball.
Great info—I bought 2 of the same kind and found I could only equip one. I just figured that support would laugh and say too bad so I never did it. I will now. But I agree that there needs to be a clear warning when making the purchase, there isn’t and that likely why they will refund. And yes a sell back for karma, laurels should be implemented.
Soulbound needs to be changed for a number of items, especially the one that you buy with real gems and real money ( gem cards), The biggest example being the lastest permanent pick as others have mentioned,
I have used both of the links mentioned (I’m on Eredon Terrace) and they both have made the gather much easier. Both sites support all the servers as well. The main difference is that Orr maps show more resources (all ????) to get while Nodes limits itself to wood/ ore/omniberries and various truffles.
Thanks for the info Astral. I don’t use the traits that you mentioned and would be why I haven’t experienced this bug.
I harvested many times while being attacked and never seen ruined materials. I have even stopped and went into battle and went back to mining. I have never seen ruined materials using any of the permanent harvesting tools.
Yep lots of other threads echoing your statement.
Yep—I got gems from my last card purchase—-it may likely be my last purchase.
So yes you are right.
The only thing missing from the equation is there are too many that will buy them and don’t care /or missed the last perm pick. Look at the Black Lion Keys—such a waste of money—but those with the cash don’t care and those that just don’t know how bad a deal the keys are still buy them like crazy.
(edited by Blude.6812)
The ranger and the speed boost! When I bring out my norn guardian and see just slow he is—-Ranger is redeployed. You need to get around a map fast—-Ranger for me.
That’s how the Teq change could have been handled,, Not by changing TEQ, but by opening up the map/zone—making a new dragon for it— and areas to explore.
The way they changed TEQ and the timers everywhere—not for me, but then again some liked it too.
Great explantion. But there is no doubt I have gotten less exotic in the last few weeks. I usually got 1-3 a week—but since all the changes—nadda one.
Some described it as an oil fountain—not blood. Anet could have made it blood red—but since you are mining—it’s oil not blood.
New item on store : makes soulbound item account bound (but soulbound on use), boom, now you swap them to a new char and done.
Basically what I and others have said—-can’t see any reason why it wasn’t done other the accountants from NC told them ’mo money NOW!
