I don’t see why you deserve a refund. If I was the sort to cry about them adding a trivial tier of gear then I would cut my losses and leave the game but I wouldn’t ask for a refund. What kind of self-entitled person would ask for a refund in that sort of circumstance? My mind boggles at the thought.
Don’t try play GW2 like you would play other games, this game relies on playing smarter and surviving rather than running in and dealing damage fast (sometimes you can do that but not always).
Play a bit more strategically/defensively.
I soloed my warrior all the way to 80 and never got stuck in any of the story instances.
I did however have trouble in dungeons until I adapted the way I played to match the situations the game presented. Timing your dodge skills is important also consider switching freely between a melee weapon set and either a rifle or a longbow when running in like a madman doesn’t seem to work.
They are an eyesore on the minimap but that’s not a big deal. Was only a PITA for me when there was a dozen commander icons clogging the map in LA during the intial lost shores karka invasion. Prevented players from finding the NPC to turn items in to and also covered the fist icons showing where the big enemies were. Other than such times it’s an eyesore but no big deal.
Why do most of you prefer to play alone?
Because people are weird and/or do things differently to me so I prefer to play with people I already know rather than with random people.
I play GW2 a lot (I am frequently online all day), and I use the internet for all the other stuff as well (youtube/emails/facebook etc) as well as my wifes internet usage. I have a 20Gb per month plan and we barely hit 10Gb used each month. After the initial download (if you are downloading it) your usage should be easily managed.
If you run out of money for waypoints then you are wasting your money on silly things. Waypoints are not expensive.
Protip: Don’t spend all of your money on silly things.

I’ll post it there but I dont have high hopes. Thanks though.
When you post there (in the 3days and older thread) have a skim through and review some of the many many many other people who had their problems resolved swiftly once Gaile Gray was on the case.
I think it will restore your hope.

I find the support is good when they can get around to it, many people forget that they are only human (which means prone to occasional errors) and trying to get through massive volumes of support tickets.
Take advantage of the thread for support tickets 3 days or older when your ticket is that old and then the magnificent Gaile Gray will try streamline your ticket as much as she can. As she has done for a whole heap of people already. Even if the rest of the GW2 support team sucked (which they don’t) then Gaile Gray would still redeem them all, put your trust in her, she will help you.

My brothers account got hacked at launch, he got his account back after about a week (?) but had to send ArenaNet a fair amount of information to confirm it was actually him before they gave it back/unbanned it.

Lol, your posts read as if written by a drunk person gobflinger, quite entertaining
I hope you get back in game and chose a nice boring name like the rest of us ><
I wouldn’t jump to accusation of thefts after your account was flagged as using a stolen serial code. That’s a serious thing and so while it is unfortunate for you, you should also expect them to be cautious with you just in case you are not the innocent party you claim to be which is entirely possible.
Do you have a support ticket in (or updated an old ticket) regarding your account now having a valid serial code but still being banned? If you have then you should post your ticket so the mod team can find out what they can for you.
Chances are that while you weren’t playing you got hacked and the hacker engaged in the activities you got banned for.
A lot of the MMO gamer community are slack with their account security in various ways and so for a semi-skilled hacker it can be a simple thing to accomplish.
The repeated advise from the moderators here is to keep your support ticket updated, don’t create multiple tickets (will slow down the process as they merge tickets), and if your ticket is not address within 3 days then there is a thread somewhere for those overdue tickets that can help get your ticket prioritised urgently if possible.
Is that legal? AFAIK, when you buy something, you have certain rights to it under the law, and these rights supercede any purchasing agreement or TOS. This includes the right to re-sell a purchased good.
If this weren’t the case, companies would just declare all their products as un-re-sellable.
You can sell the physical game discs/box etc for sure but you cannot pass on the account. When you create/open the account you agree to those terms. Generally people don’t sell MMO game discs tho since they are useless without a new account along with them. They set the rules for the world they host online and can stipulate anything they want regarding access to that online world.
If you want, for extra security, make an email account only for the game so no other improtant stuff you might have in your email might get compromised.
Could you tell us how to change the email associated with our GW2 account please.
The option to change email does not exist in ‘My Account’, so unless there is some sneaky way to do it the encouragement to change it is no help at all.
After the 24 hour period create an alt with the name you wanted to reserve it for a time when name changes are available and then at that time delete that character and change the name of your main to it.
My first thought is that he was just lying to you about being asleep lol.
But encourage him to change his passwords (both email and gw2) in case he wasn’t lying and may indeed have been hacked.
Either my account was hacked or game broke.

It is possible that the hacker also had access to your email account and used the email verification for password change then deleted it. They can be sneaky when they want to be.
Idk how to get back in
You can’t get back in.
Come on Anet even your RNG is flawed.
I lol whenever someone says RNG is flawed just because they have had bad luck.
You could go forever and never get an ascended/infused ring buddy, or you could get one on every single run. Those are the two extremes, the vast majority if not all people will fall anywhere in between.
Wow, you seem impatient.
Also, during the events, for most of the phase patches there were fixes for other stuff rolled out, so I don’t know what you are referring to… the pace seems great to me.

At some point in the future it will cost gems to transfer between worlds but they will give us plenty of warning before the charge is added to transferring.

You should not label people trolls just because you do not like what they say, that if anything puts you in the troll category. But I am not calling you a troll, I know you are simply frustrated at your situation.
My suggestion which was not 100% confirmed was merely one thing for you and anyone else in a similar situation that reads this thread to you to consider in future. There is no need for you to become aggressive about such a suggestion.
OK, some of the fine detail, I had all my characters in my old guild, all representing that guild, and all should still be in that guild… I left my old guild with my highest level character as I could not accept the invite to the new guild as it was saying I was already in a guild.
The above quote is where you say all your characters were representing the guild before you quit your guild. I did not assume your characters were representing, you said it yourself.
Also, you are posting on a public forum and personal opinions will be offered whether you ask for them explicitly or not.
Here are the facts you were apparently unaware of and overlooked in my earlier post:
1. Guilds are account-wide not character specific.
2. If you leave a guild on any character you leave it on all your characters (see #1).
3. Your old guild will still exist with the 2 inactive players in it. None of your characters will be in it (see #2).
4. Leaving your guild was a user error, not ArenaNet’s error. You may not like that but it is a fact.
Anyway, you may or may not appreciate the facts, but I am simply helping to inform you so you can avoid such situations as much as possible in the future (and anyone else that reads this thread in the future as well).
The situation is less severe than in real life but people should not be surprised that if they waste all their money they will be penalised.
Don’t be an idiot, save some money for waypoints and repairs. If you spend all your money on repairs then change the way you play, be defensive, play smart, this isn’t your standard MMO.
A confirmation popup when promoting someone to the highest guild rank would be the best way to avoid the accidental leader promotions. In the confirmation box it could warn you that you will not be able to demote the person.

Resources to sort what out? You left the guild with your account. Therefore your account (and all it’s characters) are no longer in the guild.
Do you want ArenaNet to undo your own error? I don’t think they should, I think people need to be accountable for their own mistakes even if done while not aware of how the guild systems work.
I am pretty sure that to join a new guild you need to stop representing your current guild to accept the invite. What you have said so far doesn’t indicate that you stopped representing, in fact you say all your characters were representing.
In any case you should have put in a support ticket before leaving your own guild.
So where is the old guild which should have my alts in and two people who haven’t played since about the end of the first week after launch?
It will still exist with the two people in it but you left the guild with your account so no your alts will not be in it.

For me the links also lead to a message saying the server cannot be located.
I wanted to let them know how much I enjoyed the event
Depends on the back peice you want. I only spent about 5g for all the T6 mats (already had 50 globs of ecto) for my back peice. I am now saving ectos to get it infused (need 250 ectos, will take me a while).
If you are relatively poor like me then choose a different back peice, not all the T6 mats are 20s+ each. Ancient bones were only 1s80c when I bought nearly 250 of them.
Toon is easiest to say and easiest to type.
I would advise not to expect the game to be like WoW. It does bear similarities but you have to approach GW2 with a different mindset. IE there is no vertical gear progression in GW2 so the goal isn’t about getting better gear than the content or your enemy. What it is about depends on you and what you enjoy.
At the moment you can transfer for free once every 7 days so just keep checking Blackgate (which is a great server btw) especially at weird times of day and hope to stumble upon a time when it is not full. You only need to find it less than full once and then you will always be able to log into it.
Still start on another server first though unless you intend to level side-by-side with your friend.
I had a friend buy the game a week or two after launch and Blackgate was always full but one morning he got up at like 4am to check it and it wasn’t full then so he could transfer.
you were effectively botting
grats on not being banned
That is one of the dumbest post I have seen on these forums. I don’t even know how you would come to that conclusion.
Anyway, on topic, if I am feeling particularly mean when I encounter an afk player I sometimes go as far as pulling mobs to the victim to cause their death then revive them and repeat.
Closest thing to free-for-all open-world pvp in GW2 ;D
OP is a troll? Screenshot shows he isn’t even up to the last tier of krytan explorer and is only at 145/150, not 175/180 as he claims…
The achievement is unchanged. The guy either derped or is trolling.
For the explorer achievements I have a checklist on the wiki that a few people have found useful. I hope it helps you too:
To see if someone has you as their friend you can unfriend them and then check the Followers tab in the friends window.
Anyone on the followers tab has you as their friend but you don’t have them as your friend.
The warrior skill “On My Target!” puts that circle on the warriors targeted enemy:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/%22On_My_Mark!%22
There may be other skills on other classes but I know this one for sure.
You can not manually choose to go to overflow. Your homeworld version of that particular map must be full first.
Guesting is coming in the future.
Ya’ll must have little hands lol. F1-4 are totally within easy reach :P
The existing skill system works fine because it forces you to consider what weapon you take into a particular encounter along with what utility skills to pick, which elite skill along with the other strategic choices you need to make to be successful in the various game encounters.
Please don’t change it.
This of course has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Being able to change the order of skills 2 to 5 would have zero impact on what you just mentioned. The only thing it would do is allow a preference of order per weapon , it would change nothing about any weapon and all weapon skills would remain the same.
It is simple really, just like you can change the order of your availlable utility skills, nothing more.
This:
Skills are fine in their existing orders IMO. If you don’t like it try a different weapon or quit GW2
(edited by Bluestone.7106)
My ranger seems great, no complaints from me. If any changes are made to ranger I will adapt and my ranger will still be great.
I consider being adaptable with how you play a class as a core concept with playing any MMO.

It appears that the title of this thread was not noticed. Re-read the title, think Twitter, then try again! I was hoping to get some amazingly clever responses from the community.
For example:
Tips nobody gives – Build a legendary weapon for your toon and then transmute a level 1 skin onto it!
Get the gist?
Title doesn’t make sense to me if the above is the intent of the thread. Surely they aren’t tips if they are wrong.
Just because one or a number of individuals do not see the bots they personally reported disappear swiftly it does not mean nothing is being done.
While bots are a big issue I am sure it is not the only thing the developers have to deal with. Hence time will pass.
Yea, on my server the majority of group finding seems to be done in Lion’s Arch since many people idle there, so I would suggest going to LA and typing /m LFG AC story. Just don’t spam it.
I actually feel that the GW2 maps are so full of content (when compared to many other MMOs that seem to add random expanses just to make an area feel bigger – lazy IMO) that there is no room in them for non-instanced housing.
I would be fine with housing being a part of my racial home instance, as long as there is customisation and plenty of options for it then I will be content.
No. They are account bound so even if you delete all your characters you will keep all your achievements.
The people who think teleport costs are expensive must be spending their money on silly things and/or not actually playing the game enough (read as: doing anything other than standing still) to earn the tiny amount of money that is required to travel via waypoints.
I don’t farm at all, I just play and I have never thought twice about the negligible amounts required to waypoint travel.
Aside from Chantry’s I don’t know what to suggest. You obviously have them missed somewhere so if I was in your situation I would do another sweep of the maps.
I did all the puzzles with a maximum sized Norn warrior (huge shoulder guards too).
It can be done, camera isn’t that bad if you get used to maneuvering it.
