Actually I couldn’t care less because I don’t cry about bots disrupting my gameplay because I choose not to let bots disrupt my gameplay.
But I have no reason to not believe ArenaNet. There are a lot of bots and likely more every day so to the people who just like to complain it would appear as if no progress is made against them.
Also patience is involved, people can theorise about how easy it is to ban a bot but they don’t know what steps are taken to verify a botter before they are banned, how long it takes.
Also none of you are aware of the status of bots on all servers at all times, maybe your server is not at the top of the to-do list. You lot are lucky I am not a dev because I would leave the bots on your servers just to tick you off
I have this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Bluestone/Explorer
I hope it helps.
How is the support ticket you obviously sent in coming along? Don’t tell me you posted here amid thousands of other pointless threads without filing a support ticket about it?
Sounds like the OP just can’t do them. I love them and have them all completed (except 2 of the new ones, I have to find them first) yet keep going back on my alts.
Some of the jumping puzzles require certain things before you can get to the chest, some are basic jumping and some have very little jumping at all.
Anyone that thinks bots get away with it is a fool. Also, making threads about botting doesn’t help anyone, report them and get on with something else.
Also, a dev has said you only need to report at least one, they will then check nearby potential bots as well. So report as many as you can but don’t worry if you miss any, they will still be dealt with.
I have some Jackalope Tonics left over from before they made the chest tonics random.
I am only commenting here because I believe the complaints are far too vocal compared to the praise.
I like GW2. I enjoy all aspects of the game from WvW and Dungeons to exploring and crafting. I like the challenges that this game poses and I feel great when I learn how to overcome them.
I don’t understand why people complain about the lack of vertical gear progression at 80 in GW2. This game doesn’t have it, this game was never intended to have it. Plenty of other games do have it. Why do the complaining people think all MMOs need vertical gear progression at max level?
Sometimes I think they should have just kept the max level at 20 like in GW1. That way a massive proportion of game content would be for max level and would hopefully have deterred the complainers from trying it in the first place. Please do not pay any attention to the complainers ArenaNet, they are vocal and louder than the people who like it the way it is because those people are mostly busy enjoying the game.
I live all the way over in New Zealand, my internet never gets faster then 1.5Mbps (currently seems unable to break 0.8Mbps) download speeds, my computer is mediocre and I do not lag. Ever.
I don’t think its an ArenaNet problem.

I’ve always hated that about Americans in general. They feel entitled to not have patches on THEIR peak time and sod the rest of us.
They tend to be the ones making the games…
I would have stuck with SWTOR longer and never got GW2 if the foundation of SWTOR had been better. But luckily for me SWTOR flopped massively (IMO) and I picked up GW2 and am blown away at is core foundations, I love the class mechanics, I love the flavour of the worlds (puzzles, mini dungeons everything). I enjoy the challenge of the dungeons and I love popping enemies in WvW. They could take decades to fix the bugs (intentional exaggeration) and I would be okay with that.
I am never bothered by bugs I tend to just move on to something else and come back periodically to see if the bug has been fixed.
It’s always peak time somewhere. Take a bite of reality and deal with it.
First of all, a general answer to your thread is that they are more than likely to add one or more classes with any big content expansions (the HUGE expansions) so if a certain class isn’t in right now then go to the suggestion section of the forums and suggest it.
Secondly, the Norn race do shapeshifting. My main is a Norn warrior and he can turn into a Bear, a Wolf-man, a Raven-man and a Snow Leopard-man (not all at the same time obviously. This is one of the core aspects of the Norn race so if you had done some quick researched before playing you would have known about that.
So while you are entitled to your opinion, it is my opinion that your thread is premature.
Not at the same time. But if you and your partner both had your own GW2 accounts then you could both use the same computer at different times to play, there is nothing against that.
Second, Bluestone, you’re right that I could get about the same gear a lot cheaper. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t get a response of “Well if you put 100 gold in on the Black Lion’s Trading Post you’re going to be fine”. I would like the gear to be multifunctional: same gear for both dungeons and WvWvW. Or do you say I should buy cheap gear to do dungeons, grind my gear and then do WvWvW? Because as far as I know, and my knowledge is very restricted, in order to even get in a group you need to be “full exotic”.
Well I run WvW even on my new toons so they obviously don’t have exotics let alone L80 gear. The character I am currently working on was leveled from 10-20 just in WvW. But my server (Blackgate) has been dominating the last few matchups so it may be trickier to get much done on other servers.
So what I meant was buy L80 masterwork gear for coin or karma and then do your dungeons for exotics while at the same time mixing it up with WvW.
That area of map is not explorable.
I take it you are going for the Orr Explorer achievement. I have a checklist on the wiki that you can compare against your in-game map, here’s the link, I hope it helps: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Bluestone/Explorer#Orr_Explorer
Generally people miss 2 things when trying to apply upgrade components.
1. The level requirement of the upgrade component. This has to be lower than the level of the piece of gear you want to upgrade.
2. The type of upgrade component. Some upgrades are only for specific types of gear. (Runes are for armor, Sigils are for weapons etc).
If it’s not one of those then we might need more information to help you.
You don’t need to spend 15g to be ready to do dungeons. Buy all L80 greens for a fraction of the price, or if you prefer buy all L80 yellows, you can get a full set for 2-5g on TP and then hit the dungeons with a vengeance. It doesn’t take long to farm for a full exotic set.
I started dungeons using all L80 green set from orr karma vendors and my warrior is now full exotics. So it can be done. I recommend not blowing 15g on L80 gear if you intend to do dungeons.
Don’t not report them just because hacking isn’t one of the options though. Selling gold wasn’t a report option either but they added it. Use one of the other options for the time being.
But nvm you are one of the people who think ArenaNet just have to press ‘enter’ to permaban all the bots, aka an unrealistic person. So you probably just wanted to complain.
Complete all the zones for the coin. You will stockpile coin from map completions.
Having a look. /15char
To report a hacker/botter:
Click the hacker/botter.
Right click the hacker/botter’s portait icon (where your targets show up)
Choose report.
Choose Hacking/Botting or whatever the option is.
Simple, done, what’s the problem?
Why Anet isn’t spending the time fixing bugs instead of focusing on a Halloween event on Oct. 22nd. Also why attention isn’t being focused elsewhere like the horrible DR system that is in place for loot/karma? While I’m glad the community is excited for the Halloween event and content, personally I’d rather have an improved game over an event that lasts for 9 days.
Don’t get me wrong I love this game and am spending a great amount of time on it but I’d just like GW2 to be cleaned up as soon as possible. THEN we can have these great events worry free from annoying bugs.
Any thoughts? Or am I just being cynical?
1) The developers responsible for fixing bugs are more than likely an entirely different team within ArenaNet than the team responsible for the Halloween content. It’s how things work in most other MMO teams so don’t be surprised if it is the case here.
2) The DR system was relaxed. If you still hit diminishing returns when playing then you are doing something absurdly crazy because it takes insane measures to actually trigger it. Also, attention IS being focused on the DR system, they relaxed it because it was not working to fix the problem and they are working on alternatives already. Such things are not instant fixes so you need to exercise some patience there kiddo.
Personally I think GW2 is extremely polished already with very few existing bugs compared to other recent-ish MMO launches. Over time the polish will increase as the few trivial bugs are addressed and as new content is released. To keep the most people happy they have to address both bugs and new content, if they favoured one and ignored the other then the uproar would likely be worse than the few vocal misinformed (or just uninformed) that come and cry on the forums.
I am starting to get the feeling that this is more of a carebear version of a real MMO, suited for very casual and non competitive players.
Non competitive? LOL, you are funny.
You think competition stems from having better gear? As that is what your last comment indicates. That is ridiculous. Competition stems from skill and GW2 provides the perfect environment for skill based competition.
Also, define casual please. Because it seems you define casual as someone who enjoys a skill based game.
They don’t need to add new rewards roqoco, only new content. The new content is the fun stuff. I really don’t understand why a game needs anything more to be considered fun.
Don’t play to tick things off a list, play to have fun. If you don’t have fun in GW2 then perhaps move on to another game. There are plenty of us that are having fun just playing GW2 and think it already has soooo much to offer. And that we are better off without vertical endgame progression.
A player playing the game and setting up their character in the way that makes the game fun for them is not selfish in the negative sense. They paid for the game and they can spec into anything they want.
A smart player will adapt as needed while playing though as the game requires being adaptable to survive many encounters.
I disagree with coming down on DPS guardians though, I am firmly on the side that all classes in GW2 can be either DPS or Support if they want to.
No they dont. The best looking skins are either crafted or mystic forged.
IMO the legendary and mystic skins are stupid looking and I will never use one of those skins.
Black Lion Salvage kits have a 100% chance to salvage the upgrade.
LoneWolfie, how much time a person can spend in game depends entirely on their personal situation and responsibilities so telling people (everyone who reads your comment) who spend more than 8 hours a day (on average) playing to cut down on it is just absurd unless you are aware of every readers personal situation, which you aren’t.
For your friends, that’s something you can speak to them about offline if you feel the need to but for anyone else I reiterate that it’s none of your business.
Congrats to the winner btw
Do you WvW? you could try leveling in WvW.
He asked for alternative, possibly faster way of leveling. Leveling in WvW is at the very least 5x slower than in PvE.
His OP said nothing about being faster, only alternative TYVM.
ok I get the replies.
But what does this mean – is this a FPS instead of a MMO?
i.e. there is no progression, we spend minimal time to get to full stats and then that is it its over?
I guess that makes sense given no subscription.
Since when is MMO defined as vertical progression? Because it’s not.
If you want to stop once you get the best gear then that’s your business. The rest of us that actually ‘get’ GW2 will see that as the beginning of testing our limits, what we can accomplish using skill and tactics (2 words I have come to love since GW2 started).
Has anyone considered that Frostbite is the name of an existing or planned ingame enemy and ArenaNet have kept it reserved for that purpose?
Tyria evolving is a part of the halloween patch. It will add mini-dungeons, jumping puzzles and events.
I have also read about November content which is on top of anything we get during the halloween patch.
Soulbound in general I don’t have a problem with but I think the soulbound siege blueprints is silly, I have trouble remembering which character the blueprints in my bank belong to (I got them all from map completions) and I think being able to be adaptable in WvW by bringing a different class and still being able to use stored blueprints is a good thing.
Dungeons are fine, they are tactical, if you are struggling then try different traits, different stats on your gear, try read the situation better during combat to know when the best time to dodge is, when to save your heals and condition removals for, when to group up with your party and when to keep spread out.
This isn’t a pure tank’n’spank game as many people try to claim, you have to think about what you are doing, what you are going up against and prepare accordingly.
I have 100% world completion on 2 characters and am now working on a third. Playing the different classes makes me approach the hearts and events with different tactics and it makes it feel new for me. Plus each time I seem to get faster at it.
Do you WvW? you could try leveling in WvW.
That’s pretty cool. I was all ready to come in here and say it wasn’t possible on these forums but instead I learned something new
Yea, sounds like conditioning. Have to approach GW2 from a different perspective.
The way I see it (and as a result I love GW2) is that the game’s focus is skill and tactics not about having better gear. When you beat an enemy in PvP or when you defeat a dungeon boss etc you know it is because you worked out a tactic and learned the encounter, read the situation and responded accodringly. You know if you beat an encounter it was YOU and not your gear that got it done. That is a feeling I have wanted from a game for a long time now and I am so happy that GW2 makes me feel like I have actually accomplished something and overcome challenges.
Go do previous map completions which you can’t have done if you are not 80 before hitting the 70+ zones.
To the players who have played more than 8 hours daily, please remember to cut down on it.
All I can say to that line is, mind your own business, people can manage their own play time tyvm.
Soulbound = One character only.
Account Bound = Any/all characters on your account.
Can confirm it 100% for you, once you hit level 80 you stop earning trait points. This is to make you pick where to spend your points. You can refund your points and spend them again if you visit your class trainer and pay a small fee.
After 80 you will continue to earn skill points as these are used as a currency towards mystic forge recipe materials.
Plenty of games exist for those who say they prefer gear grinds. We don’t need another game like that. Let me conquer the content with skill and tactics rather than out-gearing it please, thank you.
I don’t understand? Isn’t the player responsible for their own purchasing errors?
Personally I think all the legendary weapons are hideously ugly and so don’t care much on that point, can leave that one for those that care about it.
Black Lion Chests though, I have not spent any money on gems, but i have converted ingame gold to get gems to get more character slots and expand my bank space. I have no need whatsoever to purchase Black Lion Keys even with the 60+ in my bank since I get plenty of keys from map completions (2 characters at 100% so far). I have opened at least half of the chests I have acquired since headstart.
There is no need to buy gems with money if you don’t want to. There is no disadvantage to not buying gems with money. There is therefore no reason for anyone to complain as they are not disadvantaged in any way whatsoever.
LOL @ pay-to-win Bubbles. You obviously don’t know what that means.
And LOL @ thinking having gold in this game gives you an unfair advantage. That’s a ridiculous notion. Nothing you can get with gold makes you a more skilled player and that’s what GW2 gameplay depends on, skill. Not on gear, that is why we have no vertical gear progression at 80.
Fact 1: New content is going to be added.
Fact 2: The game has only been out 2 months.
Therefore there is no point to this thread.
I believe when used correctly it serves a great purpose to be able to join multiple guilds.
For me it goes hand in hand with the concept that no guild can adequately cater to all aspects of gameplay, I think guilds do best when they specialise.
For a player that enjoys all the different aspects of gameplay then being able to join multiple guilds lets them have a guild which caters to that aspect of gameplay which they can represent when engaging in that activity.
I believe if a guild specialises in a specific aspect of the game (WvW, sPvP, Dungeons etc) and chooses to allow part-time representing, and if players respect the guilds they are in by actually representing them at the appropriate times and for a good portion of the time they spend in game (aka frequently) then a great balance can be achieved which will benefit everyone involved to the greatest degree.
Guilds which require full time representing are of course entitled to have that as a requirement but I believe they are missing out on some great contributions from players who want more from the game than any individual guild can offer.
Sticking to it and trying to read the situation to know when to dodge, when to switch weapons (or other such skill changing tactics), if you lack survivability then perhaps you need more vitality/toughness/healing on your gear (can’t get all those on a single gear tho), trait into healing/survivability.
Theres lots you can do to help yourself but you have to stick to it if any of them will work. So don’t give up, don’t avoid content. Keep at it and one day it will probably just click and you’ll be wondering how you didn’t get it sorted earlier.
Khellendros.5189What I was saying is if say by chance I farmed my exotic set via karma farming. Now why run dungeons? Loot is horrible so money making it is better to do karma grinds and loot mobs if you can tag enough of them.
For fun? You know, the thing that is meant to be the point of games lol.
