Regarding WvW chat briefly, can the invaders/defenders see ANY chat?

A couple times when I was gathering the POIs and was on the last few I just charged into enemy controlled camps. And at least once got stopped just short of it by the enemy players. And I typed something like “/s Awww, I just wanted the POI” which got no reply. So I assume they cannot see /s chat.

If you are in a party you can have someone else in your party call you out as the target. This will show your name above your head for your entire party including you (in white text).
This also puts a big red cross-hair above you as well though.

Well that’s not how I play my warrior.
I don’t consider it trial and error, I call it reading the situation/circumstances and responding to it. Health going down fast? Just used your last heal skill? Get the hell out of dodge and pop off a few longbow AoE’s then you CD’s and health should be up enough to charge back in.
If you just want to sit there hacking away at stuff then consider pumping vitality and toughness and trait into things that heal you. For instance I have traited so that my shouts also heal for a small amount, this increases the amount of time I can be in melee range significantly.

Best class depends entirely on what you can do, your playstyle and what you enjoy.

But there seem to be a heck of a lot of warriors so maybe not one of them.
(I see some dungeon groups looking for members saying no more warriors too lol)

Move sooner then, if you don’t make it then you left it too late.

This game focuses on skill rather than gear (ie. all endgame exotic gear has the same damage/armor) so it’s about what you do rather than what you’re wearing most of the time.

I solo’ed all Norn Warrior story content and so I know what sort of big zergfest fights you mean. It can be done, you just need to re-adjust the way you tackle it.

Play smart. If your build can’t melee bash continually then fall back to ranged until your CD’s are done, then run back in.

This just happened to me. Did the jumping, got the achievement, soloed the Giant Destroyer Troll. Chest animated but it cannot be ‘searched’ or looted (or interacted with in any way)

The leader can set permission for any rank to queue upgrades.

There can be more than one leader.

The others I do not know. Have not bothered using any banners yet.

Submit a ticket anyway, that will put you in the queue and they will get around to it eventually.

They are still prioritising hacked accounts submitted in the right way. So you submitting a ticket will not prevent hacked accounts being address by support.

If you change your home server then you won’t be able to meet up with your guildies on another server until guest mode is enabled.

Are you sure you are not confusing skill points with trait points? You stop gaining trait points once you reach 50 but continue to recieve skill points.

How so? Youll still have to buy the huge expansion packs with real money. The $15 sub on other MMO’s pays for the infrastructure and wage costs of the developers. In GW2, it seems the servers have been coded cheaply, and ANet seem intent on nickle and diming for almost everything. Trading post, and the fact that they intend to charge you for character slots and even to switch servers says enough.

The general consensus by those not blinded by the marketing spin have already said and proved that the game isnt worth a sub fee. At least not the $15 that other MMO’s charge for more features, a bigger game and more depth.

I realise i could be banned from the forums for this, but it seems that when you provide criticism, even constructive criticism, the posts get locked down pretty fast. But lets not get into that as that can be kept for a new thread.

The GW servers seem waaaay more stable than the SWTOR servers (and so I believe better coded).
Most subscription MMO’s I have tried lately have been one by one adopting a free-to-play model. Seems even subscription games aren’t worth a sub fee.
Trading post is fine player interaction, I think you meant the Gem Store.
You get 5 character slots, this may be less than subscription MMOs give but will be enough for many people. Those that want more can buy more (and do) with the savings from not having to pay a monthly sub…

Basically, this game obviously isn’t for you. Most of us don’t want a cookie-cutter clone of every other MMO out there. We like GW2 and don’t want Anet to cave in to the people who complain for the sake of it.

You need influence to spend on upgrades.

I’m sure scamming is a worse offense than spamming and so I report gold sellers for scamming. They are either real-money-trading or stealing accounts, either way its a scam because they are both against ToS.

I take it you have never played Day Z mod for ARMA II… THOSE zombies could move sokittenfast. The Orr risen practically crawl in comparison.

Most games I try lately I would not consider finished games (or polished games if you prefer) but this game is so polished. There is room for improvement of course but they have the best foundation to build on of any MMO I have tried in years.
Please don’t change the core fundamentals to appease the complainers, there are plenty of other games the complainers can go to.

I don’t see a need for direct trading with people you don’t know considering how the trading post works.

If you want a certain price for your item you list it for that price.
If you want a quick sale you sell it to the highest order.
If you want to buy something quick you buy it for the lowest price if it is listed.
If you want to buy something for a lower price you put in an order.
If you want to do a trade with your friend directly you do it via mail because you trust him.

All bases are covered. No need for direct trade.

Weapon swap is there for a reason.

Personally as a warrior I mix it up between ranged and melee. Straight up melee can be hard to survive but short breaks of ranged dps can give you a breather.

OT: How you get a group for a dungeon (what I think you meant to ask) depends on you. If you have a guild or friends in-game then it would be best to go with them. The dungeons can be tough and teamwork is needed to complete them without a thousand deaths.
If you don’t have a guild or in-game friends then you can do either of what you suggested, ask for or wait for a group at the dungeon or in a major city.

I have gained new skill points for every level over 80.

Currently sitting at nearly 150 skill points in excess (not all from leveling, there are more skill challenges than needed to get all skills).

I have heard others in map chat say they have even more. It is also said that you need to spend skill points in some awesome recipes.

I have had no problems dyeing transmuted armor either.

It is possible that you cannot dye armor from one of the three factions (Vigil, Priory, Whispers) as their colours are somewhat iconic.

I have weaponsmith and armorsmith on my warrior. No problems getting them up together.

Honestly I am sure the people who are struggling to keep their crafting leveled up cannot be doing discovery or at least not doing it right. Before I figured it out I thought crafting was insanely difficult but now, with discoveries, I realise it is rather easy to level crafting.

People are complaining about free EXP now?… that’s nuts…

As you go up levels into higher zones it gets harder to accidentally get silver or gold participation without actively engaging the event. Sometimes you still get a bronze for killing guys while an escort is passing. But whether you like it or not that was helpful to the event.

Take your “free” exp and move along please.

What is an “Epic” quest? A really good quest? or a story instance?

Confuses me so much when people use terms from other games. Like asking about/selling “Epic” items… there is no tier of item in GW2 called “epic”.

Newbie question here but: We should only use discover to lvl our profession? And only make one weapon of each “signet” ex 1 bow of power and 1 bow of condition damage and so on?

Discovery is not only for leveling your craft, but it is the fastest and most efficient way to level it

It does teach you new recipes you can make. I didn’t level my crafting till after I was 80 so I didn’t make anything to level with. Karma vendors always had decent gear for leveling.

Have completed maps myself, got exotics.

I want to know about the OPs question still though. Do Exotics drops from mobs. IF they do thats great, if not is there any other way to get exotics besides map completions? Event chests have never even given me a yellow, let alone an exotic.

The changes to crafting and craft loot acquisition was to slow down the people leveling through crafting, it was not balanced, the changes were an effort to achieve balance.

Plus no one should be coming into GW2 not aware of the gem store. And therefore can’t whinge when things can be done faster with gem store purchases.

Also most subscription games I have played have had bigger money sinks than GW2 has. My earning rate against my spending rate in GW2 is much easier to handle IMO.

Only slightly related but I just got a PM saying a message I posted (or thread…) was moved to the suggestions forum which doesn’t currently exist… and so I cannot follow the link to the new thread in the PM and have no idea what message/thread it was lol.

Personally I think it’s about time people got punished for violated the ToS of an MMO. It doens’t happen often enough.

Word gets out that Anet don’t tolerate it and you can get banned and less people will resort to it and the Anet support can focus on actual improvements and problems.

Also, salvage lots to get crafting materials. Easier later in the game though.

The problem is, there are only so many discovery recipes in each “tier”.

I have been leveling only through discovery since i learned how it worked. Each ter of mats I will make all the shield discoveries, all the dagger discoveries and sometimes one or two sword discoveries, this means I have not touched the axe, hammer, mace, greatsword, spear discoveries. I am sure the other professions are similar and its just a matter of figuring out what you change to make a whole new item.
For example each shield discovery uses 1 shield boss (costs 2 metal ingots), 1 shield backing (costs 2 metal ingots) and the third component is the one that changes.

Removing the cost completely would trivialise travel and I personally think there needs to be a deterrent of some size to encourage a certain degree of other travel (like walking) as this will result in circumstantial event particpants.

Title is misleading, its not a thread about how the TP works, its about how players should be using it.

I want GvG arenas between guild forts! I recall doing that sort of thing back in GW1… I only played vanilla, no expansions.

Also on player housing briefly, if they are added I want to be able to grow veges etc for cooking there.

I personally think that the travel (and repair costs) in this game are completely reasonable and are not a hinderance to me at all. I am not a rich player in-game but I am not broke either.

I melee fine as a warrior in PvP. You can’t play melee like other games thou. Try mixing it up, use longbow as secondary and launch a cripple then do a bullrush then a hit or two before a knockdown etc. Play smart, control your target and they can drop like flies. If you get bleed then cure it, we most certainly have more than one condition cure skill and can trait for more I believe (tho i have no need for more).

Dual Axes. Good deeps + fast adrenaline.
Longbow. Good AoE + cripple.

Patience is a virtue. And people always make mistakes (that can apply to both players and support).
Banned players can appeal their bans from what I have read (as in the case of the Karma vendor being exploited).
Some hacked accounts have been restored already, which is not a quick process as they have to thoroughly verify the true account holder.
Affected players should just submit their tickets and follow the procedures ANet have set up and then wait patiently.
Once situations are resolved politely seek compensation on an individual basis if compelled.
No MMO provider is responsible for interrupted gameplay according to standard MMO terms of service.
Any compensation they offer is above and beyond what they are required to provide.
