I wouldn’t use minority as a reason to take the forum with a pinch of salt, I would instead say that generally people come to MMO forums to complain, far more than people come to MMO forums to congratulate. Therefore it is more often than not a specific subset of the community. It would be like asking only homeless people who should run the country and then using their answers to represent the entire population.

You are confusing need with want. You don’t need to do anything in GW2. You do need to eat IRL to survive though. Speaking in game terms, anything visual/aesthetic cannot be a need as it does not give you any advantage.

Have you visited the Chantry of secrets? Some have said that even if they visited it previously they didn’t get credit for 100% completion until they visited it again in the same situation as you.

I have no encountered this problem personally and have 100% world completion on 2 characters.

I hope this is the correct place/format to query this.

When a thread you have posted in is moved you get a PM telling you that a thread you post in was moved and it links the new thread.

When the thread (or post) is moved to the trashcan you get the same message but the link obviously doesn’t work because the thread has been trashed.

My problem is that there is no way to know what thread it was when it is trashed. Is there any way that the thread title or post content could be included in the PM that is sent? It would save frustration when looking for particular threads that may or may not have been the one trashed.

I believe you can still play PVE content together buy joining each others party in the area you wish to play together and right clicking their portrait and choosing to go to them. I have not done this but that is what I have read.

Only if at least one party member is in an overflow and then you all have to move to that overflow. (actually not sure if you all have to be in overflow or just one)

It may be impossible if you place a timeframe on it. But any timeframe you put on it at this point is imaginary and therefore the claim that it is impossible is invalid.

It’s not like the prices will change over time like items on the TP. The T3 armors will always be the constant price and therefore they are a set goal to work towards. Not a difficult thing to do if you realise that you don’t need to get it immediately.

I personally think the prestige of having a legendary weapon justifies the effort. Heck that’s pretty much all that gear means in GW2, prestige. No gear is meant to give you a significant advantage. Skill plays the primary role.

Unfortunately that is your best shot. Keep trying. At least you can all be progressing wherever you currently are and just transfer over when the opportunity presents itself.

This is stupid how hard is fix this, this is easy problem.

Nothing is as simple as it seems.

Think of coding like playing jenga. If you pull out blocks near the bottom you can easily topple the entire tower. Likewise if you mess with a bit of code over there you can make another part of the game break. This is why new bugs keep coming up because when you fix one thing it can have a negative effect on other things.

If it was an easy fix it would have been done already.

Tier 3 cultural armor should be earned.

This can be done quickest by purchasing gems and converting them to coins. This is fine because you are contributing a good sum to the game development.

This can also be done slowly over time by saving your pennies. It can take a long time sure but you’ll get there in the end. And you will have earned it.

Finally it can be done by selling your soul to the Mad King and farming like there’s no tomorrow. In between the other two methods as regards quickness but the most insane option IMO. Still, this would mean you earned it.

It doesn’t need to be cheaper. If you want Tier 3 cultural armor then go earn it muchacho.

Regarding the vertical progression comment I have been reading everything I could find from Dev posts and interviews and it is my understanding that Ascended was intended fro launch and is the highest tier of gear. If it had been in at launch this would be a non issue but they made the regrettable decision to not include it at launch because their content that needed it (such as fractals) wasn’t ready.
It is my understanding that there will never be a higher tier than Ascended (Infused). But that the various slots of ascended gear will be added gradually.

600 gems for 30 extra bank slots equates to about 8G at the moment. This, in my opinion , is not reasonable.

Yea I would like it if those account expansions could be bought directly with coin as well, even if the price went up occasionally as the game economy inflates but tempered to keep them affordable.

That really depends highly on several factors though, such as guild and server. If your on a low population server, getting to run even one dungeon is HARD. So you can’t really say that without looking at the information from a server to server point of view, I don’t know what your server (Blackgate) is like, but our server never had any access to overflows for a long time so actually getting them done was a feat in itself.

Server transfers are free. So there is a work around. There usually is. And plenty of guilds are recruiting, and you can join several guilds, and you don’t need to be on the same server to run a dungeon so you can join a multi-server guild to run dungeons with.

i am loged into gw2 abut 3-4 hours a day. when plinx got nerfed i had 30g to my name across all toons because i had just spent 3 days farming plinx to buy all my exotic gear for my other 80 who still needs 30g worth of runes. since plinx has been nerfed i have spent about the same amount of gold as i have made running fotm and a couple other dungeons. atm i have 32g across all toons. how am i progressing toward getting infused or legendayry gear thats a 2gold gain in 2 weeks. lets do the math. im a semi-casual player i make 1g profit a week it cost about 500g to make a legendary. this is 1×500=500 weeks so ill have my first legendary in about 9.5 years…. ty for the high apr anet ill take that 500g loan now and make a 19 year payment plan out of it.

Perhaps you just aren’t in a position to get a legendary. May have to face the facts and let it go.

Usually yes. But not always. Time spent in game should not be the only measure for hardcore or casual. I consider myself casual but I spend up to 12 hours a day ingame sometimes.

The best f2p model Ive come upon so far is Lotro. Everything costs turbine points, however you can earn those points ingame, so its entirely possible to purchase every single bit of content in that game merely by playing the game. (althoug you might have to grind the points on more than one char). That coupled with the possibility of subscribing (heck you can even subscribe for only a month and permanently unlock traits slots, bag slots and more). Plus all the areas are free without purchase, letting you play through the storyquests.

I don’t like Lotro’s f2p model because of the basic core content that is denied to you without spending turbine points. I was a lifetime sub to Lotro so am all to aware of what the f2p players are missing out on while grinding out turbine points.

The new SWTOR f2p model is by far the worst in the issue of withholding content though.

One of the major problems is just simply making gold in order to spend, if you roll and alt for instance, getting from 1 to 80 is simple ~ gearing that fresh 80 in all exotic gear is where the cost comes into play now. Lets see the casual players face off against fully ascended players in WvW, assuming the game will survive to that point.

This is where I disagree. If a player chooses to purchase their exotic L80 gear then that is their chose and the financial strain is their own choice. If a play chooses to get their exotic gear through dungeons then they can even gear an army of L80 alts running dungeons with a single character, or spread it across multiple characters.

A dedicated dungeon runner would have enough tokens to fully gear a new L80 alt straight away without spending 25-50+ gold.

The financial strain regarding buying L80 exotic gear is by choice since they are choosing between spending the coin on TP or spending the time in dungeons.

It is my belief that the market will find its own equilibrium where supply and demand come to some sort of agreement. Prices can’t get too high or no one will buy anything, they can’t get too low or no one will sell anything.

I do choose the waiting game since I am going nowhere, and if I am wrong it won’t be the end of the world lol, my life will go on even without one of those ugly legendary weapons.

No .. HC player is someone who takes game really seriously. Player that plays 8+ hours a day instead of 3 hours that casuals play (made up numbers).

For instance I have 1200 hours played almost. So I call myself HC player.

I personally use the labels Hardcore and Casual against someones attitude towards the game and hours have no bearing on it in my opinion.

Ah, but that is not the issue. The issue is that people who want to make gold are watching as avenues to do so get closed, one after the other. What is wrong with asking for more ways to earn gold while having fun? Asking worked for the “nothing to do” folks. Exotic is kind of a red herring here anyway. I mentioned those costs only because someone else did and was under-estimating the costs.

I suppose asking for more ways to earn money is okay. But I stand by my opinion that most income avenues are fine as they are. And there is not a lack of current ways to make money, just perhaps a lack of ways that hold interest to a subset of the community.

Yea so what is driving you to need 250 ectos (for infusion I assume) asap? Have you hit a wall in fractals and need more agony resist?

What is driving you to think that you need to make ‘serious gold’ really quickly?

What is preventing you from working towards your objective over a longer period of time?

Some people like having the best gear regardless of how much difference it makes or doesn’t make. Running dungeons may not appeal to everyone. GW2 was supposed to be about playing the aspects of the game that appeal to you. Rewards are not a function of time spent, they are very much of function of what you choose to do, and those options are getting smaller.

Yes, no amount of fiddling by the developer is going to equalize returns on time spent across the entire game. However, they could come a lot closer to balancing returns than they are now. They seem to be moving towards funneling players into fewer and fewer avenues. Maybe they are moving towards eliminating anything being lucrative, then rewards will be more balanced.

People who choose the more expensive ways to acquire gear aren’t in a position to complain about money then really. If they choose to spend 25-50+ gold on an exotic set from the trading post then that is their choice and they should not complain afterwards at their lack of funds when that gold could be in their bank going towards whatever else they want to spend money on if they chose to acquire their exotic gear another way. They don’t like dungeons perhaps so they can buy it sure but they chose the expensive option willingly.
