Hey there spammer.

If your ticket to support is older than 3 days then post your ticket ID in the 3 days and older for review stickied thread in the Account Issues section. Before then you just have to wait it out. Some people are dealt with fast because their issues were easy to resolve and they came up in queue. Some peoples tickets are not as fast since there could be bigger issues in the queue before them and/or your issue is not easy to resolve. So sit back, relax, and wait. And do the 3 day or older thread thing… Posting thread bumps isn’t going to help you at all.

My theory is that the hacks have not just happened, it is people returning to the game for the event and discovering they were hacked. Even though the hack happened during their absence from the game.

I have just noticed a few threads that start with “I stopped playing for X amount of time and came back to find I was hacked”.

I see in previous cases a mod has been able to provide insight into a support tickets status, may I request a status report into my issue if possible? I am aware I am still in the 24-48 hour window, just anxious to play!

Perhaps OP you should instead be in the suggestion forum asking for a lock of some kind to prevent deleting of characters from the character menu. Might be worthwhile for people like you and people who get high recreationally would probably benefit too lol.

In the situation the OP describes it only seems like it will come down to learning a tough lesson and moving on, unfortunate yes but it is likely the reality he will have to face and hopefully learn from.

All I get from the OP post is that he should take more care with his passwords so that family members do not get into his account in the future.

Account restorations are only for actual hacked accounts and since the action was taken from your own home on your own laptop there is no way for you to prove it wasn’t you.

So my suggestion is that you learn from the experience and try be more careful with your passwords in the future. Family can do the stupidest things and leave you to deal with the aftermath sometimes.

And how can you be outraged at the lack of support? You got contact from support and they told you what the deal was. What you are “outraged” at is what the contact from support said.

I browse the account issues forum section a fair bit trying to help where I can and have made a few observations:

1. Support generally get it right but they have made the odd mistake which gets magnified and screamed about.

2. Support seem to have a habit of not being specific enough with their replies, for instance to Titan Cronus above they have been far too vague for a reply stating no more messages will be taken. Why the hell not would be my question, if I knew WHY no more messages would be taken then I could move on with closure. I think if anything makes support seem bad it is the vagueness. Even when telling someone their account is closed indefinitely the support person should be giving enough information for the player to know why what happened had to happen.

Gaile however is of a much higher standard than the staff who deal with support tickets. Though I can easily imagine that their bosses are pushing them to roll through tickets faster than they can give them appropriate attention, perhaps they have a daily quota which I think would be very counter-productive to providing good customer service. They should be prioritising quality service since the reputation they would get for that would far outweigh the wait for tickets to be addressed.

The above is entirely simply my opinion of course.

I know it sounds like a stupid thing but did she have CAPSLOCK on when entering her password at registration but then not when entering it in the launcher (or vice versa).

If little things like the above can all be ruled out then the only option is to wait it out with support. At least she is not wasting a subscription in the meantime (since GW2 has no subscription).

Hackers have been targeting GW2 with a vengeance since launch and people with small holes in their personal security measures are potentially at risk so ArenaNet have been stressing high standards of personal security since launch. ArenaNet’s databases have not been compromised yet they do what they can to help people get through their problems, one just needs to be patient with them considering the volume of tickets they receive daily for all manner of player issues.

ArenaNet do not do phone support. Which makes sense to me, I never find phone support very useful.

Yes, sigils for weapons are available in PvE as well.

Regarding the amulets I am not sure if those specific ones are available though there are many options for PvE amulets even if those ones are not available.

Sit back, relax, wait it out. If you have been waiting less than a week then you have not waited at all. If you have waited for more than 3 days then post in the 3-days-and-older thread. Continually posting the same thing over and over will do nothing to help your ticket be resolved, likely won’t hurt it either but you seem to keep posting with the misconception that it will help. It won’t.

U might want to talk to a lawyer actually. The environment they are breeding is one where you have to buy gold via their real money shop to get even materials to gear up to do the dungeons they’ve made this game focus on, whether intentional or not, so theres a chance but only a lawyer will tell you yes or no.

Except you don’t have to buy gold via their real money shop to do anything. You just either have to be committed/good at playing or patient.

I think it would be nifty if the Explorable zones (not cities) were always ‘overflow’ ie cross-server.

I think that would be the best solution to empty zones.

This would remove the need for guesting feature too which some of us were expecting at launch and made plans around it.

Or if they removed servers entirely and added guild alliances and then made WvWvW into AvAvA (A = Alliance) since WvWvW is the only feature that actually depends on the current server setup.

If you have a spare character slot try making a new thief with the hood, then transmute it to crap stats which are not soulbound to you then put it in your bank, retrieve it with your main thief then transmute it to your current headgear stats.

May or may not work, I haven’t done this myself but have seen other people suggest it before.

Reason: Account Issue.

Meaning there is something wrong with the account. It could be a fraudulent code or credit card or similar. The issue is with your account (the details not the characters or any in-game feature). It seems detailed enough to pursue contact with support.

A ticket posted at the very end of the 16th would not hit 3 days until the very end of the 19th, just as an example of how a ticket might not be 3 days old yet.

One report is all it takes for ArenaNet to start their investigations against a botter. A report is simply that and does not directly ban botters.

No, it will not be everytime, only when they change something in the game.

Currently however there is an event going on so they have to do almost daily updates to progress the event.

When there is no event you will go days or weeks without any updates/patches.

If there is a patch you will be required to download and install it before you can play. This is normal for online games. Patches serve many purposes such as fixing broken content, making changes to existing content and also adding new content so they are important to the ongoing life of the game.

Ah I read it NZ style, we put the date before the month ie Dec 18th would be 18-12-12 or 18th December 2012 etc.

My bad try using commas or something to separate your GMT deviation and the date lol.

Anyway, if your ticket is 3 days or older post your ticket number in that thread and Gaile will get it prioritised asap.

There is not a traditional vertical progression at this time. All things are possible though, however it is very unlikely that GW2 will ever have vertical progression mirroring standard MMOs.

Yup just make sure your GW2 account and your associated email account do NOT have the same password, because if they are the same then if one is compromised so is the other and in some cases that gives the hacker access to all the information they need to change the password/email themselves.

If you have authenticated your email then yes. They are unlikely to even consider adding a self-changing option until after they have calmed the hack attempts since self-changing emails could slow or complicate account restorations.

None of the concerns presented in posts on the forums are concerns of mine.

Actually as I typed that I realised there is one, DCing in fractals and not being able to rejoin. But the problem isn’t preventing me from doing fractals or enjoying the rest of the game.

I am still enjoying the game. I agree with one thing you said OP, that many people seem to take the ‘game’ too seriously. I have a good time, I don’t do stuff in the game I don’t want to, I just cruise through content and am still enthralled by the game.

I think it would just be better if they removed the representing thing as it is now so all your guilds benefit when you are online playing and just had a toggle for which TAG to display over your character with no other effects.
I also think you should be able to see guild chat from all your guilds at once.
I think these changes would allow for the benefits of multiple-guilding while also negating some of the bigger disadvantages.

Or to preview ingame you have to do the meta-events associated with the temples in Orr. Each temple when under Pact control has a karma vendor which has the same skin at all the temples but different stat combinations.

How does Aggro work?

The way some (perhaps all) enemies determine aggro seems to change over time as well, it can do one thing during one encounter and another thing the next time you encounter the same enemy.

I like how the aggro is somewhat unpredictable though, helps keep everyone on their toes since you don’t know if the boss will just hate you and you alone for an entire fight or he might leave you alone entirely, or he might switch back and forth, I love it, it’s more exciting than predictable aggro.

If things are killing you in one shot, you may have set yourself up as a glass cannon, and if that is the case, well then yea, that is going to happen, push into stats that help with taking hits and that will be a problem of the past.

He said that HE one shots everything when going back to do low level hearts.

To which I say to the OP: SHENANIGANS!
With level scaling you will not be 1-shotting everything. Methinks you never actually tried this option before complaining about it.

Correct, you cannot mail to yourself.

If you want to transfer an item from one character to another put it in your bank vault and then pick it up on the other character.
