You should probably avoid presenting assumptions as facts Agemnon, especially in a forum section designed for players to help players as your assumptions may lead to a lot of confusion for other players.

Lol, the first time I used vengeance I was not deceived, I knew there would be a catch so I read the tooltip the next time and have now traited to the “100% chance to rally if I kill a foe” thing, it’s very handy.

If it let you send the mail then the account exists and you have lost the mail contents unless the person decides to send it back.

Otherwise it is completely fine to mail to an account name instead of a character name since mail is account-wide not character specific.

Yes, you can have all 8 crafts maxed out to 400/400 on a single character if you wish.

When switching between crafts it will cost you 10 copper per craft level.

So if you switched away from a craft you have at 400 and then wanted to switch back to it then you would be charged 40 silvers for the switch back.

I don’t like the way any of those legendaries look so I guess I won’t be trying to make any.

OMG the kitten filter picks up who followed by reads as a bad word. That kind of crummy coding explains a lot of what we see in game.

The word WHO and the first two letters of REad spell the filtered word.

The filter ignores spaces because people are known to try circumvent filters by adding spaces.

171/175 is usually the magic number for people who stopped doing their story missions before Claw Island which adds 4 locations to the Krytan Explorer achievement.

There was potential for so many of the achievements to grant titles. I don’t know why they decided to limit titles so much when it’s just a little bit of text.

Anyone in the leader rank (or whatever a guild has set their highest rank name to) has to change their own rank to lower it. Members cannot change the ranks of people in the same rank as them.

You 100% most definitely will not lose your name. (unless its offensive or against the Rules of Conduct in which case you may lose it if someone reports you).

When did they enable guesting? Has been disabled from launch and I have seen no announcement that it was up and running yet.

I can’t think of any reason a legitimate player would need multiple accounts running at one time.

Gear scales with level. So a level 30 warrior in all level 30 gear is maximized for damage. Once he hits level 33 in his same level 30 gear he is doing less damage.

Do you have a source for this? I have seen it speculated before but have not seen any proof. I would be interested to know for sure.

Why would it be undetectable? You seem to only assume that.

Warping would be something that would set it apart from legitimate players on its own, all they need to do is have an automatic alert for movement outside of defined parameters.

But I’m not a game developer so I am just speculating out of my kitten. Just pointing out that it’s no help to assume Anet can’t detect it.

I assume you reported the botters in game? Some people don’t know how to do this, so here it is for anyone else:
1. click the botters character (target them).
2. right click the botters character portrait (target portrait).
3. select report, choose botting or whatever the appropriate option is.

Existing game mechanics can be exploited for prolonged player absence, but that is still exploiting and is bannable.

I am working on a complete list of exploration required for the explorer achievements.

Currently finished Kryta, Orr and Maguuma then my eyes started throbbing so I decided to take a break lol. (Those maps can be murder on the eyes if you concentrate too hard).

Basically for the explorer achievements you need the white name labels on the maps (And only a couple that aren’t labeled). It does not count waypoints/points of interest/vistas/hearts.

Your best method to find what you have missed is to check off the white name labels on your map against a list. (It’s how I found the last few that I needed, but I had to hunt for some, thus why I wanted to put together a complete list in one page).

I hit a critter for 314k damage in a single hit. But I don’t use that as a gauge for my PvE or PvP performance lol.

When you transfer it moves all your characters.

You can not ever end up with characters spread across multiple servers.

Running multiple clients on the same computer at the same time? Sounds like a botter to me…

Answering PMs was said to most definitely not be a bot checking method of the GMs so you don’t have to worry about that point.

I will run with my current setup. I could disable the keyboard software that allows the creation of macros but then I would have to put my push-to-talk key back on left-ctrl (as the same program let’s me use my keyboards extra buttons for that) and that ctrl button just gets annoying when it keeps linking skills lol.

I don’t believe it has been stated that they will definitely be able to retroactively restore accounts but it was at very least mentioned as a possibility once the tool is ready for them to use.

Paid transfers are not yet enabled.

Even when paid transfers are enabled I expect that you will still have to wait 24 hours between transfers for the same reason as the restriction is currently in place.

I don’t think the 2 gifts of exploration have anything to do with the chantry of secrets specifically though that place does count towards 100% so if you are 100% I am surprised you had not been there.

They do not currently have the tools in place to restore items and gear.

NO ONE can have their things restored, no matter their circumstance.

They are working on implementing such a tool but that doesn’t change the current situation which is not being able to restore items etc.

I have a macro. When I press a single button it types: ‘/s thanks’ then presses enter. I use it to quickly say thank you to anyone who revives my character (because I want to thank them but I am also too lazy to type it, especially mid-event).

I assume this type of macro is ok lol.

The game doesn’t need mounts. At no point on any of my characters have I felt that I needed to get anywhere quicker than I got their walking/waypointing.

I do not think travel costs are excessive, I am not a rich player, I do not farm for items or gold or anything, I just play casually and I have a few gold in the bank, I even just bought an extra character slot with in-game gold to gem exchange.

The game doesn’t need mounts. Travel costs are fine.

gw2cartographers doesn’t look like it would help with the explorer achievements as the sub-area names aren’t even shown.

If I were a mob I’d pick off all the easy targets first. Then focus the high dmg dealer who has no support left.

So Monday evening my game crashed and I received an error that said “password was wrong”(after checking to see if it was changed it wasn’t and I noticed many people on facebook saying they had the same issue).So I log back in and 60g is gone that I made over the past weekend along with 4 skill points (level 80). Same with roughly 3k Karma… Anyone else have this happen? I have yet to even get a reply from a GM about it…Guessing normal sweep under the rug oh well we screwed up to bad. Kinda makes me wonder if I want to even continue to play..That gold was going towards my Legendary and took forever to make.

I heard there was a rollback though I doubt you got 60g within the rollback period.

Perhaps the way you acquired your 60g was considered an exploit and so it was taken off you.
If that was the case then I would have hoped they would have sent you an email about it or something.

You cannot move to a server that is listed as ‘Full’ at the time.

We lost our Architecture level 3 upgrade (5000 influence) when it had ~24 hours left to go.

I put in a bug report. Next day the upgrade was all complete. I do not know if it was just not displaying for that one day or if it was a fixed by a GM.

24 or 14 hours is nothing considering the volume of people who get tricked into getting hacked.

ArenaNet themselves have not been hacked so anyone who gets hacked is either using the same login information as another site or game that had their database hacked or they have a keylogger on their computer or they tried to buy gold from illegal gold sellers.

ArenaNet have been trying so hard to convince people to take more care with their accounts but it is falling on many deaf ears.
Yes the hacked people are victims but they left themselves open by being slack with security.

I think not being able to restore items atm is a great incentive to try harder to protect your account in the first place…

I have Orr filled in 60/60 and have been compiling a check list for the explorer achievements.

What about them makes you think they were botting?

If they were botting then it’d getting harder and harder to tell because I wouldn’t have looked twice at them. Nothing stood out for me.

Who exactly are you reporting? Or are you just trying to mass report a bunch of people standing together?

I am going to have to regularly authenticate the one and only computer I play GW2 on because my IP provides dynamic IP for my house and I don’t intend to pay for a static IP.

An annoyance for sure but I don’t know how it can be avoided.
