I stopped bothering to listen to him a while back as there is nothing of worth to gather from the words he is permitted to say to us. Kinda like the words of a fortune being meaningless as they are so generalized that they may apply to anything.
Yup, precisely. John is barely allowed to tell us anything and when he does it’s so vague and cryptic that it’s essentially worthless.
I can think of absolutely no reason why the player base shouldn’t be permitted access to basic information about the economy. His remark about the median returns from gauntlet farming is a perfect example. The median alone tells us almost nothing. What was the mean? What about gold earned by the top quintiles or deciles and the population statistics to match?
A guaranteed exotic per boss would be nice, even if they remain account-bound on acquisition as they are now.
Plenty of folks on this forum have demonstrated beating the tree the same way even after a wipe. It’s harder but not impossible.
dude I know there’s not a dungeon team, fer chrissake
what I’m saying is CJ is not a dev, so there still hasn’t been a “dev posting in dungeon threads”
Mr. Johanson is the game director, so not really a “dev” per se. More of a PR man in his position. What we want is actual dialogue with people doing the coding for dungeons.
There aren’t any of those people.
Apparently there’s at least one person tinkering with fractals since they get changed in almost every patch. Yes I know there’s no dungeon team, but if what Colin says is true there are going to be people doing actual dungeon work.
Plus, there were people that did the coding for the revamped rewards. Those didn’t magically poof into existence.

looking frame by frame (recorded at 60 fps) at doing rushes on the targets in Lion’s Arch I’ve only been able to count 60-ish as well. not that that’s a more scientific test, since we know some skills have floater issues.
I guess it would make sense if they were easier to craft but I can’t imagine there will be a huge disparity.
But if the two-handed infusion is just as easy to get as the one-handed infusion it makes 2 handers the automatic choice since obtaining the ascended weapons will be time-gated.
Man, if dungeon revamps are tied into Living Story, the changes are gonna be full of bugs and glitches and it’ll have terrible QA, unlike the pristine state of dungeons at the moment.
That’s gonna be awful!
It worked!

I thought Teksavvy was Rogers.
But yeah, Toronto with Rogers here too, 200-400 ms latency to GW2 servers since this morning.
trying to start another front page liberation, come on y’all
Would really appreciate it if there was a statement telling us that the new token rewards being account limited rather than character limited is intended or not. Thanks and toodles.
man dis some bullkitten
10, and pet has it too
what’s with the two bursts during the feedback? are those just two separate waves of projectiles?
So I know for stuff like speedkilling Lupi you’d want a straight up 30/30 mantra build, but what’s the best general build for generic dungeon runs?
If there was an actual dungeon team that got paid based on how many bugs or unintended mechanics were detected, fixed, and sent to the patch every two weeks we’d see a lot more of those “valid skip” paths being taken out. Just saying.
can I bring my level 37 ranger, I have a sweet MF shortbow and I just charmed a wicked cool bear
why do people post what essentially boils down to fanfic
here’s an example of a suggestion that Anet can actually take and implement:
“hey anet, make dungeon rewards better”
here’s an example of a suggestion that Anet can not and will not ever implement
this entire thread
the only number that matters minutes : seconds of clear time
inb4 everyone apologizes to Guang again after Mesmers become the new meta.
don’t you mean inb4 guang gets someone else to do his heavy lifting
“I recently did a numbers crunch and”
just makes me want to reach for the shotgun to blow my kittening brains out
I think Jeff Vaughan is still assigned to fractals but everyone forgot about him because almost every 2-week-patch there’s some tiny little update to fractals and it’s never listed in the patch notes.
And aside from him fixing the cultist issue on Cliffside, all of his changes suck.
Chryzo: sword 5 will block without riposte if you’re not in melee range. But if you are in melee range, even though you might be blocking a ranged attack, riposte will trigger and end the block channel.
Oh well, that might be true.
Also: Can we call this the great TAFU SNAFU? Pretty please? I just want an excuse to say it.
Any efforts by Anet to “make dungeons harder” will probably just add time gating a la Molten Facility or Mai Trin/Horrik’s annoying AoE phase. Though I guess some of the gauntlet enemies had interesting mechanics, like the 4 pirates that would give each other different abilities depending on who you kill first.
But then, look at how whiny baby cry cry everyone got over the AC changes, then look at how they screamed about the Liadri gauntlet, then imagine them making a dungeon boss that was actually “difficult”.
The tears would be legendary.
You know, ANet could put an end to these topics if one of the devs would kindly say a word about the subject.
and why would that put an end to it
as long as scrubblebutt pugs keep failing, there will be threads
I agree Zerker is the best gear in PvE, but it doesn’t mean that it’s the only viable gear.
Play however you want but don’t make a ruckus on why people usually looks for Zerker equipped players.
yeah but we don’t give a kitten what’s viable when “viable” means completes a single path in 1.5 hours
No you are wrong. We traded in our token because at that moment at least I assumed that the vendor would disappear within a certain amount of time and he did.
A lot of people assumed that the vendor would disappear and that the token would be made worthless since back when the fused weapons first came up there was no black lion skin vendor.
Hey, I traded mine in back then too because I also assumed, but you know what they say about making assumptions…
Same here the Vendor DID disappear but then reappeared who would expect that when they were saying these are once off chances… so i used my ticket, if id known this garbage was going to happen i wouldn’t have used it, most likely i wouldn’t have even purchased one, what a double standard this is..i’m really mad at this and feel scammed badly by this company..
Meanwhile in other threads forum posters are upset that BOA items can be sold at all, and want them to not be able to be listed on the TP for anyone.
Gotta love forums.
Well as far as the fused weapons, the exclusivity was either implied or outright stated, which led myself and others to purchase lots of black lion chests in order to get one of those skins.
Guess what I’ll never be purchasing from the gem store again…
lately I’ve been trying to get my pugs to stack might before boss battles with warriors, thieves, guardians, and eles present and they’re usually like “WHUUUUUH?”
They should just rename the game to Hindsight Wars
well yeah I usually just go run in while the brambles are down and whack him a few times
So what’s the most challenging aspect of this game, pve-wise? Liadri?
Staying interested in the game
definitely breathed through my nose hard at this one. +1
He reflects projectiles though or destroys them. Only mesmers and necro’s can range the husk afaik. Just run in, auto attack with axe a few times then move out before you get murdered.
He only destroys projectiles when his bramble “shield” is up. He stomps or something to bring it up and then it kinda fades away over 30 seconds or so IIRC. It stays completely down for just a little bit before he brings it back up again.
As our good friend Koptev would say, No no no!
Also btw, this always applied, but doubly so now with champ boxes dropping, make sure to put some actual hurt on the boss before he dies to the golems to ensure you get loot from him as well as the chest. About 3K-5K damage seems to do the trick.
yeah most of these stories can be safely filed under thatdidnthappen.txt
This “one hand doesn’t know what the other hand’s doing” business is getting ridiculous. You load us up with support tickets, then “SURPRISE! hope you didn’t waste them all by actually participating in the election, cause now you can sell them!” You offer a ticket-for-skin trade and then go “SURPRISE! hope you didn’t waste the chance to sell them by actually redeeming the tickets!” You make it sound like the weapon skins are going to be one-time only and then go “SURPRISE! hope you don’t feel like you wasted tons of gold or real life money on horrible RNG black lion chests cause now you can just TP for the skin you wanted that was supposed to be gone forever!”
Get your kitten together Anet and coordinate for once. Or, actually rectify your mistakes and not just say “meh, we don’t feel like fixing that.”
there is no mod only ModBot
l2p necro, at least
how about be open minded and appreciate fear builds in high lvl fractals?
please make a fear build necro for fractals, on par with your staff MF build
it’ll be glorious
Considering it’s not moderated at all it’s pretty awesome that it has the smallest portion of whiners compared to that trainwreck which is … every other forum. People who want to play how they want just get beaten in to submission so hard here they don’t post again.
I know, and I love it. The bads barely post here. Dungeon forum best forum.
Yes, this poisonous atmosphere surely is a great contribution to the forum. And you’re praising it too. Stunning.
For a change perhaps we could simply answer someone’s question politely. Instead of jumping on to every single opportunity to be a jerk to them. I know that it is extremely tempting and fun to express yourself. But sometimes being helpful is better. Just answer their question.
or maybe you could leave
or l2p necro, at least
awesome job, I’m actually glad I wasn’t there for this one because 13 minutes sounds awful lol
Why was a change to fractals not put in the patch notes?
From now on when I pug I’m going to start the instance and pop quiz everyone of them with “Play How You Want to Play: Y/N?”
guess which ones get the boot
Excellent idea. See folks? This is what I’m talking about right here – Innovation. We don’t get to gear check bads very easily (they ping one set, then wear another), so this is the next best option. Good work Broadicea, furthering the betterment of GW2 society as expected from such an exemplary player.
someday I’ll get called a scumbag elitist and it’ll literally be the highlight of my GW2 career
From now on when I pug I’m going to start the instance and pop quiz everyone of them with “Play How You Want to Play: Y/N?”

It sounds like you’ll be allowed access back into the normal pavillion when you finish Zorpp’s quest line.
Well as I was able to come up with a sub-60 second farming rotation with about a half-hour of practice and that’s with a grand total of 83 hours on necro. I’m not trying to toot my own horn, I’m pointing that out to say that if a whole forum of necro-players are having trouble, maybe necro just attracts bad players who are too wedded to condition builds in PvE.
I’m way way worse on necro than on other classes, and I was still able to find a way to kill him every bit as easily as on them. It’s not a class imbalance issue with this boss, it’s a player skill issue. The biggest part of that is accepting the zerker meta in PvE.
Edit: Shout out to spoj for his build idea.
I haven’t done TA since I left on my holiday like 2 months ago, but back then there were only a handful of white mob spiders in the room when you started it, and spiders usually wouldn’t spawn until like 10-15 seconds into the fight (usually around when he was at 60-50% health).
Yeah you missed the change then, but could probably see it in one of Nikaido’s videos. Not that I’m agreeing with the NERF TAFU NOW!! crowd, but we should all at least agree that it did change.
