We hear you guys loud and clear! We definitely plan on mitigating the leaver issue with a form of punishment. I wont give details about what the punishment will be, but it should be enough to deter this form of behavior. Anything we add will be in addition to what happens now (loss and rating hit).

Players that leave should be forced to finish 3 tournaments playing Warrior only!!!

The punishment build is as follows:

Weapon sets: Sword+Sword, Mace+Warhorn
Utility skills: BANNERS!
Healing skill: Heal signet
Elite: Rampage

Traits… Uh, I don’t know, but you definitely need Death From Above!

Wow man really?. Why does it always have to be the W knowing they’re first to go especially using those skills. Might as well force them to play regen bunker build then. I’m pretty sure they can tank a 5 signet warrior.

Look at the forums… What have you been seeing for months?
Sure hasn’t been necros are op and class balance and kitten.

What you need to talk about is solo que.
Matchmaking while solo que. 4 thieves on one team against a balanced team? Oh yeah they do awesome matchmaking. A team of 2 guilds vs a full solo que oh yeah they couldn’t have possibly thought to move one of those guilds to other team. They need to stop with this your group is que’ed up, they need to implement grab 10 people THEN you kittening matchmake, I don’t want to see that menu pop up asking me if I want to leave group, I clicked solo que for a reason, I DONT GIVE A kitten WHOSE ON MY TEAM JUST MAKE IT BALANCED. If I got a kittening rank 1 on my team, the other team better have one as well, none of this 2 rank ones on my team bullkitten.
Ragequitting solo que’ers (obviously people don’t ragequit in premades unless its a random pug which rarely happens)…. So punishment for leavers.
Leaderboards still have issues.

Read the forums, if you pay attention to detail you see this stuff come up every god kitten week because its not being properly addressed.

Too many premade homeboys in these SOTG, solo que’ers get nothing, you wonder why the pvp community isn’t big? Because it aint solo que friendly. Theres only like 5% pros and rest are randoms, the game isn’t addressing the 95% of the community, hence why pvp is pretty much empty. Ok well not empty but its same people over and over again, those people that are new don’t stay here for long because its not a friendly environment. You ask them to go hotjoin? THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. See the attachment. You think newplayers to pvp enjoy being farmed? If you pay attention to threads you see people bicker about being farmed and how not fun it is.

So sick of these premade top 100 leaderboard players in sotg and theres no one to represent the solo que community, I don’t really consider ostrich eggs solo que’er anymore, he got too many friends, he may not have a team but he’s got people offering him groups. I bet hes probably like zoose right now, you see zoose video he was interrupted like over 10 times. No hate for those guys, but if you haven’t been in the % since these last few weeks you aint a true solo que’er because right now its super kittened up!

Just to let you know I don’t want to hear talk about professions for 30+ minutes, talk about actual PvP stuff, you guys need to realize that the balance developers do balance and not the pvp developers. The more you talk about balance the more they will kitten up stuff, the more you bring up stuff like solo que being kittened up and premade vs solo que bullkitten and that bad matchmaking solo que bullkitten the more of a priority they will make it, as well as bringing up things about new maps and rewards.

Mention to those fools that the MIM guys that don’t play anymore are still top 100 on leaderboards, that 18 wins guy is still top 10, that 13 wins guy is still rank 16. Ask them how they think there leaderboard decay is going first than slam them with that kitten.
Leaderboard decay my foot. Sure in 1 year they will all drop off leaderboards and I wont be here to even notice it.

You see the 2nd image, that team I faced was 5 guardians originally, bad matchmaking is obviously what triggers someone to ragequit, and needs addressing. and matchmaking is seriously needed in the solo que department, if there is a reason why theres not enough people for solo que match that’s because people quit after a bunch of poor matchmaking like that. And trust me I know there are a bunch of solo que’ers out there to have a solo que vs solo que match.

Over analyzing actual pvp combat with every profession build ei? That would be the day which I hope happens. I don’t think they truly invest enough time in pvp to see what really needs work. I understand where you are coming from because the Spvp community is really small seeing the same people in hotjoins / Tpvp.

Some people are so ignorant that they don’t want to see reason, pay him no mind, I just want a fun balanced game, but then again not everyone sees things in such a way, they could care less so long as they feel skilled and powerful in a video game (maybe real life is lacking I don’t know), they could care less about balance and are willing turn a blind eye, to me people like that just make it harder for a MMO Dev to do there jobs as it gives them mixed signals leaving the Dev team to let things like this go under the radar for months.

I seek balance and open communication and feedback with the Dev team nothing else.

Yeah I would assume they aren’t exposed to many professions in pvp to see the pros and cons on which one has the most difficulties. So I can understand why some are quick to defend their class they like to play the most.

Learning the hard way is the best experience ever to fully understand whats really wrong with the picture.

It looks good in writing but in actual combat you can tell which one has the most trouble.

Most classes have access to vigor, so evade should be much a problem + you should not evade every attack, only the nasty once – for example corruption boon.

It can also be taken away as well quickly and as you said most classes do have access to vigor having it up constantly. Some can evade it depending on the situation they are in like not everything is a 1 vs 1 fight if that’s what you are referring to.

You’re right. My main point here was that, at least from my perspective, the sylvari and human female heavy armor Aetherblade skins look far better than the skins for the Asurans, Charr, and the Norn and Human males, and that it would be fantastic to have an option to change which version of the skin you use.

Are you ppl even read patch notes ? we got +0.5 sec fear from doom and Spectral Wall fear 1s. So +1.5 sec of fear is overbuff ?!xD Even if we use staff fear +1.1/4sec its not perma fear.

And yes : Stability !

Depending on the necro you’re facing…you are mostly dead after all of that condition damage. Some profession can live through it while a few mainly the W dies first.

A lot of players are starting to understand how the new blind mechanic suppose to work. I am not use to it yet and I get the feeling that it won’t change due to the fact that this is how blind works.

My suggestion is that should professions such as a ranger and warrior be accessible to have another blind condition ability on a weapon or skill slot?

Seeing how the competition will be with the new pvp meta. Professions that has some accessibility to more than 2 blind condition skills will be a problem for those that has only 1 blind condition.

I’m suggesting this idea to keep the game balance and fun to play or more threads about blind being overpowered will occur.

When underrated builds get buffed, people try them out and realize how underrated they were and since it got buffed its even better than before, that’s the deal with necros.

Just like DW axes for warriors like not many would play them in spvp. This patch did make it viable to them thanks to the buff whirling axe got. However the way it has to be build hitting like a train makes them very vulnerable to kill.

I don’t think it would of made much difference besides healing a bit quick. I think the heals should be reworked. The benefits are okay, but it could use a bit more tweaking to make it compatible to survive especially in Spvp.

I enjoy warrior too, and there are a few builds that work well, but the argument is that other classes have advantages warriors don’t.

You can do well as a warrior, but it’s an uphill battle.

Very true, but a game without challenge is just not as fun.

Necro’s have to give up a 3m CD to spam blind. Dagger 4 is hardly spam and Well of Darkness can be completely avoided by just not being dumb enough to stand in the big red circle.

I can guarantee people stood on it because they couldn’t move :P. Not because they were being dumb, but being locked down with lots of CC from other players.

The chance was necessary to give a more strategic factor behind the usage of blind, now it’s actually useful…but again warriors suffer the most against conditions spam, I can manage on my ele…on my warrior it’s close to impossible

Tell me about it lol I had to switch on thief before I got frustrated. I mean it is usually a hit or miss on my warrior when I am blind finding the target, but why torture myself when sooner or later hopefully sooner this will be fixed.

Blind hasn’t changed at all, why there is such a huge issue with it all of a sudden is surprising to me. (The patch notes about not having it removed by swinging at thin air has always been the case for most parts and has just been updated to never occur by accident.) Also blind shuts down all classes equally more or less and it only blocks 1 attack.

Most thief blinds activate only in melee range and can continue to apply if you don’t move away.
Don’t stand near plague form obviously.
Don’t waist critical skills when you’re blinded, notice that blind also affects the boarders of your screen to let you know that you’re blind.
And as a warrior, try a ranged weapon so 1. you can remove blinds at range 2. you will be less likely to be blinded by thieves or plague form.

Lastly, the idea behind the combat system is that certain builds will counter some while be weaker against others etc. So a full blind thief build will have an advantage against a melee warrior in most situations, but that thief will be venerable to condition orientated builds from others. It’s best not to try and solo a build that counters yours, pvp is a team game.

It looks good in writing, but in actual combat it is quite the opposite. I know how blind worked before the patch and it has change.

Pretty much warriors are still bad, and how are they supposued to be better if they buffed other classes?, well for someone with a little common sense would know that if you buff every class the situation its going to remain the same as before the buffs, even then the changes did to the warrior are hardly buffs necros now they recieved buffs warrior dosent.

Well this was very predictable, they are making the balance towards thieves in pvp its pretty obvious, they stealth buffed the blinds… oh surprise!, thieves can spam blinds…

They are making warriors a pve exclusive class.

Seriously, watch 30 seconds of this video, it looks like the Warrior class is from a completely different game stick a warrior in that fight and watch him run around like a dog. Teleports all over the place, blind spam, serious evade spam and spike damage. Lol we are so far behind these classes with teleports and blinds its not even funny.

That solution is remove the break stuns abilities on teleports. When a profession has teleports, stealth and massive evasion such as thief or mesmer they should have the least break stun abilities when they got loads of survivability.

Would that make them very vulnerable to a lot of opponents? Not at all

I don’t understand this whole blind thing. Before the patch everyone could auto-attack the air and clear the blind? Then such a change was needed, just how, a few months back, blind wouldn’t negate basilisk venom until that was fixed aswell.

In GW2 with limited weapon buttons to use, every attack counts. No, you shouldn’t be able to clear blind if you are attacking the air. However, you should be able to clear blind when your auto attack is in range of an enemy.

That doesn’t make sense. Can you please elaborate why after June 25th, 2013 patch blind cpndition can’t be clear when you attack. Why does it have to be cleared when hitting the enemy? For those professions that can do it instantly such as black powder will always have an advantage in fights / team fights.

Why is it that anet keeps ignoring warriorss weakness as a melee in this game. Time after time. New traits are complete useless, the dmg is low. You can’t land 100bs anymore. I dont get it. Condi AoE stronger than ever. What is it anet has against warriors. Prove me wrong with a viable warrior setup on top 200 play. Else don’t come with warrior pve responses. Deleted this game twice because it got so frustrating playing the warrior in pvp. Rank 50 pvp. top 200-400.

You got to have more than one option until they make the warrior profession comfortable to play in Spvp. The devs said warriors should not have the same gameplay as guardians and I understand that concept, but that should not oblige them to not have certain survivability boons such as protection. In a sense any defense trait in the game should be accessible to that boon.

If I had to delete the game twice then I have to rethink why did I buy this game in the first place? It’s a waste of time reinstalling and I don’t have patience for that.

This is an overall issue for all professions because even for beginner players that enters in Spvp not knowing about what condition removals are will go through this dilemma. Next thing you know they will lose interest which probably would happen.

If that was a bug fix then that is really a bad mechanic. I have to hit the target to see again or wait til the duration wears off?

Well depending on armor I did 6.9k crit on a heavy golem dummy in HoTM. A lot better than what it did before.

Give it time man this is just an experiment. I wish they lowered our heals though because they aren’t that great. As for damage I just tried DW axe and man it hits like a train wreck. Too bad in zerker build you don’t live long enough, but that is understandable.

I wasn’t aware they stacked, yes I know the difference between combat and noncombat speeds, the rest of my statements still stands, no to pulls, yes to mobility on weapon sets.

I know that is what you are for but what if it doesn’t change anything? What would you think of next? You’ll probably start thinking of my idea lol. Having the ability to pull opponents similar to what the professions I have mention is a great asset to warriors.

As a melee warrior you want a pull ability especially a AoE pull instead chasing the opponent knowing they can countered the chase by using impairing conditions.

I’m not sure if you are seeing my view on what I am trying to explain, but I hope the devs understands it. This one skill isn’t going to make the profession an unstoppable beast, but it would make be useful on teams and 1 vs 1 situation if the enemy wants to kite or escape.

Yes it will stack with swiftness, that’s what most professions use to escape. However it does not apply to passive speed which is out of combat speed. If you play this game enough you should notice the difference between in combat speed and out of combat speed.

In a fight in combat speed can be countered by impairing conditions which we know as well.

Edit: Please get out of the WoW mindset and focus on GW2 pvp. They are different gameplay style. In GW2 pvp there is no such thing as diminished returns when being CC. WoW has that and if they didn’t the pvp community would be hectic than it is now.

GW2 provides skills to not be CC 24/7 by an opponent instead of waiting on a 2minute insignia that WoW offers.

Since you caught my wow relevance you realized what DG did to melee relevance in terms of RBG composition right (since domination point style pvp is closer to wow battlegrounds than arenas)?

Its always an uphill battle for melee to begin with, for the game to balanced around 1 class being able to pull people to their group – CC lock them – then blow them the kitten up royally locks melee into the spot and they will never get the proper mobility buffs as long as that is their role.

Too bad this game isn’t like warcraft then right? Having stability counters those pull attacks if you are traited for stability boon, block it or have it as a skill slot. Teleports also helps out as well depending on the profession and with support professions on your team pull attacks won’t give you a scare.

First off I am not being an idiot, I’m just giving out suggestions as I usually do and if you don’t like it then just say you don’t like them. It would make you look mature than looking juvenile.

As for speed in combat I don’t think you are aware of what I am referring too.

Among many things, pulls are stupid and they should decrease in quantity if anything, because they can be game breaking. We need to stop the arms race of high reward – low risk gameplay that defines GW2.

If the leaked notes hold true Warrior Sprint (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Warrior%27s_Sprint) will be buffed to 25% movement speed.

Why are pulls are stupid? If the player is a close gap fighter then it makes sense for them to have an ability like that. If this game didn’t provide pulls for close gap fighters then this game should be called Kite Wars 2. We already know which profession would be removed first.

As for warrior sprint that’s out of combat speed, not in combat because when you’re in combat your speed decreases dramatically. Swiftness only helps a little, but not much if the player doesn’t have mobility.

Your solution for warriors is that we should have more mobility on weapons besides GS and sword. How would mobility be able to perform using maces, hammer, rifle. axes, shield and longbow? We going to use the longbow strings and shoot ourselves towards the opponent? If they have a way to give us mobility on warriors weapons then I would like to see how that plays out, but I do not think it would make the profession any different than it is now.

So having increase combat speed as a trait may solve the mobility problem for warriors to get closer to their opponents than being kite 24/7 if don’t have the mobility utilities.

Rampage is also bad because the one boon can be stripped away easily.

^ No one likes death grips, personally would rather just have more reliable and accessible mobility skills on weapon sets outside of sword and GS.

If they gave a trait that made us move faster in combat that would solve the mobility problem. Engineers have that type of trait if they spec into it moving at 25% in combat. Deathgrip which is a warcraft move for death knights is only crowd control which pvp is all about. Since most warriors play closer gaps combat than range. Making a warrior have deathgrip or if we get lucky a move like guardians number 5 GS skill, but as a skill slot will change the tides a bit for warriors in pvp. Players may have to debate about bringing what profession into their Tpvp roster.

If this ability was put in for warriors will this make them annoying?

  • Yes if the player have nothing to counter it

but it wouldn’t be overpowered because with break stun, stability, and teleports in this game. The opponent can get away with no problem and continue to kite or go somewhere else.

This refers to their “Slow and Steady” philosophy, as well as all the (wrong) feedback they receive making them afraid to do changes. The developers are afraid to overhaul mechanics, they are afraid to shake up the meta. Is a warr’s survivability going to be at a viable level by addding a few condition cleanses? No! Not untill Every class has it’s mechanics brought in-line with warrior’s (invulns, risk-reward ratios, get out of jail free cards) or the warrior’s brought up to theirs, will it be viable. But despite all the evident flaws I can list out when comparing warr mechanics(cough Brawn cough), this isn’t the thread for that.
And that’s why Warriors will never be viable unless Arenanet stops being so timid with their changes.

This is the main reason why they won’t make warriors go further and if warriors an unstoppable beast then it would have more survivability. I will be adding some suggestions to this since warriors are mostly upfront fighters they need utilities to pull their opponents closer to them giving kiters a scare. Rushing at a kiter will only make the player kite more especially if the melee warrior can’t get closer.

For instance:

  • Thieves scorpion wire = pulls the player to the thief,
  • Engineers have an ability like thieves that pulls the player to the engineer
  • Guardians greatsword number 5 attack = does an aoe pull bringing more than one player to the guardian.
  • I remember a champion elite mob in Brisban Wildlands by Triforge waypoint has an ability to pull their enemies closer to them by using a shout.* If I may recall her name was Ebon Knight Carriadar and she posses this ability. I think other champion mobs have something similar to that ability, but greater and that’s what a warrior needs.

As for warriors weapons Hammer weapon combos such as their final attack, number 5 attack and burst attack*earth shaker* needs to have the cripple condition
Why? because players with stability and break stun utilities will be unaffected by hammer CC attacks making the weapon completely useless. Just like in my statement above this one it will put pressure on players unless they want to remove the cripple condition because hammer number 3 attack won’t be enough. I know people will say swap to another weapon, but that would only make the CC warrior more vulnerable to die quicker and judging how the pvp meta is warriors wouldn’t last long.

I know they are working on their condition removal system I hope so they can last longer in a fight dealing with conditions, but what about bunkering especially those who are regen banner builds. If regeneration is what they specialize in then that should be strengthen for bunker warriors that chooses a healing path.

This means Healing Signet and Adrenal Health should scale better with healing power than it does now. Bunkering is suppose to hold more than 2 opponents right? This will branch out the diversity for warriors instead of what we see today.

That’s all I’m going to say for now to help this profession out. I hope it gets through because playing a warrior is frustrating in pvp especially for those other professions that have greater advantages in that field.

I know people say what about the other professions in pvp and their builds. That’s where you step in to support your profession to bring more diversity builds out than the standard viable builds we see today in pvp. However this topic thread is about warriors which why I talked about them.

ANET its 12 am where I’m at, am waiting for the event. please tell us now if its broken, so that I can sleep.

Will even if it is not, the next one is not supposed to start in 2 hours, so I would say go to sleep. You have the whole weekend to complete the achievement.

Not the best answer when they said it starts at 9 A.M. Reset the servers and fireworks so the players can get their achievement.

I am starting to notice too many players are going akitten every round. I came into one game recently I had to leave immediately because the score board was 460 to 0. This isn’t making the game fun to play if you are the only player active on the team. I do not want to abuse the report button for stuff like this. Can there be a timer to kick these players out?

For an example if the player is akitten for 30 secs or 1 minute. The player will be automatically booted from Dragon Ball.
