What would GW2 be like with trinity?

This game should have been called “Guild Warriors 2”
I prefer Guild Elitists Wars 2
Why do people care if a class can run away from you fast? If they are running away they can’t kill you which would just earn more complaints.

I’m going to take some pressure of warriors, how about Elementalist being 2nd to landspeed and no balance?

It was even mentioned that Elementalists are OP from the recent stream and somehow i believe, someone in the higher ups is keeping Elementalist OP.
And that is Unacceptable.
If they are going to bring warriors landspeed down, they might as well bring Elementalsit and Thief extreme mobilities down alltogether.
Obviously these Three Superclass are being endorsed by the higher ups, no wonder why every so-called “Balance” or “Nerf” does not effect their OverPowerdness whatsoever.
In other word, it’s all Deceptions and Manipulations from the Truth.

Warriors should be The Lead Melee and Offense Class… Nothing More
Thieves should be The Lead Evasion and Critic Class.. Nothing More
Elementalists should be The Lead Aoe and Element Buffer Class.. Nothing More

zerker nerf is only 10% crit damage eles will still hit for 12k plus damage with meteors guards will hit for 15-30k still with smite thieves will still hit for huge backstabs etc
gear stat nerf aint the solution its skill damage scaling

very much yes. I mean, i don’t want to feel cheap game play but challenging. The ranger class is the only class in the game that is forced to work 10X more when fighting thieves, and that’s not right at all.
So really, in the end, it’s not about balancing the game as a whole, it’s balancing the game around you (and like minded people) and what you considering “challenging”? Is there any consideration about the thief players? Or should we just consider non-thief players?

That’s the best idea I’ve seen in a long time! It could actually work too. It would add way more counter play and it would be a nice buff to S/P and P/P.If this gets enough attention I’ll add it in the OP and see what people think. So far I looks like 2 is the most hated, and after reading the discussions here I can see why it won’t work, so I’ll scratch that from the list ^^

Rangers are Masters of the Bow but it is not the case with Guild Wars 2. In Guild Wars 2, we have 2 classes who are given that title why? for what purpose?
Simple; To help extent their control and power over the rangers. We’ve heard it all, “whatever ranger bow can do, thieves and warriors can do better”. We’ve seen it all, “thieves and warriors bow does more damage than the rangers”…
The bow gives thieves near perma-mobility, for warriors= Everything
And it’s true.
The Truth is visible to us and it need to be reinforced.
It is a total Insult and Shame to the Rangers ancestors, who fought and died tirelessly to preserve their beloved bow from the hand of blood thirsty tyrants and oppressors.
How did Guild Wars 2 honored them i in return?
By giving the bow to the hands of those who are responsible for mercilessly spilling
their innocent blood, for the sake of power, greed, control, tyranny, oppression, corruption, injustice and evil.
Till this day, their blood hasn’t ceased.
Till this day, their prestige and dignity are greatly exploited with pleasure, with malice,
by the the hand of thief and warrior

I wish you were given the position to be The Lead Programmer and Designer for thief class; to put a final end to their I AM GOD class design, once and for all.

If they remove the ability to stake when stealth are they also supposed to remove the ability to blackpowder > stake, or stake > shadowstep > shadowreturn > finish stake? I don’t think this should be removed and it’s not really and issue unless you didn’t see a thief go stealth to begin with. If someone is down and you see a thief go stealth you know where he is going to be, just use knock backs/fear/cc/or aoe him. Not that hard to counter stealth stomping as long as you know its happening.
Do know what’s happening when you are blindfolded?
Op, I waited 1 year for that miracle to happen and you know what? it never came. The best we can to do is to keep the pressure on Arena.net to redesign thief class. That’s the only way to rid this Unjust Treatment by them.

I read somewhere where Arena.net was afraid to balance ranger class due to ranger bots in Pve. So why can’t they separate pve and wvw to better balance our class? Isn’t it too obvious to do that? I’ve never seen a ranger bot since i’ve played wvw so what is Arena.net afraid of?

I know you are trying not to jeopardize your class but the truth must continue be exposed. Elementalists damage are extremely deadly compare to rangers barrage. In fact they are the hardest hitting Aoe damage class in the game. But there’s a problem? they’re gone too far.

Why are Guardian Scepters still terrible with their AA?
Why can’t Guardians stick to their targets well, considering that they are built as a melee class?
Why are Warriors with the Fast Hands trait so kitten ed fun to play?
-Couldn’t help it with the last one. 183 hours into my warrior compared to 77x hours on my Guardian and I’m loving the class.

First of all, let me talk about a thing call Common Sense. Common Sense tells us that there are no way a wooden stick(daggers) can hit more damage than a metal rod(hammer, great sword, sword, axe). I end will end this part here because you intentionally refuse to understand me.
By your own logic, fire hot enought to melt steel and giant rocks from space should insta kill anyone hit by them. This is common sense. And this is why we don’t use common sense for game balance.
Unless you want t be one shoted by all elementalist from 1200 range. Oh wait, such range is too small for magic, this is common sense. There is no reason for giant rocks from space to hit only from such small range.Also you are totally incorrect about Ragnarok Online, Assasin Class and Guild Wars Assassin doing more damage than Warrior Class. Again, good effort.
Yup, totally. Only one of the greatest points of Reneval in Ragnarock was nerfing Assasin Cross Deadly Poison damage to stop them from dominating WoE and PvP. But what could I say… i just played this game for 6 or 7 years.
On another note, I really love how empty fists or iron knucles of Monk deal even more damage than any Knight or Assasin blade. Common sense fails~Secondly, this is my Favorite one… thief having less Survivability than a warrior and a Guardian??? Oh my!!

Thief have 17 high output damages traits in their trait line, why not put them at the top place?
We all welcome 30/30/30/30/30/30 builds with 10 additional Major Traits Slots and 4 weapon slots. To not talk about fact that % Traits alone don’t make DPS build, but good synergy between them and class skills.
And I’m pretty sure you have never seen perma Lava Font or Lightning Hammer Elementalist, cause then you would be here crying about their damage, not Thieves.And your list of Guardian’s “DPS Traits” shows perfectly how do you not know anything about this class, missing on all extremely important minors or vulnerability on blind.
Of course I know about Guardian class; If you had paid attention to my posts than you would know why i did that.

Does this sound reasonable to you?
Example; how can someone not wearing any bulletproof armor (thief) and only carrying a wooden stick, can absorb every incoming bullets and still able to walk up to his enemies and kill them with a single blow?

What kittening game are you playing? I guarantee you that if you try running through an enemy zerg, you are still going to get hit by every AOE that is being dropped.

Not using Daggerstorm and dodge rolling through. You might as well have a Warrior pop Endure Pain and use Shield Stance and send them through.

What kittening game are you playing? I guarantee you that if you try running through an enemy zerg, you are still going to get hit by every AOE that is being dropped.
It would be nice to backup claims like with my warrior after “5 hours max i wreck faces with it”.
I could say i wreck faces after half an hour with my elementalist in pvp.Except you never see this argument from other classes. I started a warrior the other day. First time warrior, did the PVE intro and nothing else, immediately went to the mists, copy and pasted first build I saw online, and was top scoring player in my TPVP match and won. Hmmm

Again as i stated; where in MMo history where you will ever hear, find and see a DAGGER outputting equal or more damage than heavy set weapons?

Let me think… first, there are no tanks in this game.
Second, dodging attacks is not tanking. At all. Aegis/block are much closer. Also, thief has much less survivability tha both warrior and guardian, unless you dodge/evade, which is not tanking.
Second, where in MMO daggers do more damage than heavy weapons… hmm, let me think…
Ragnarok Online, Assasin Class rules in damage over Knights and expecially Crusaders.
Guild Wars, Assasin DPS/Burst is extreme.
As far as I know, in WOW Rogues deal more damage than warriors too (or this was the case when I was playing long time ago).Also, all your claims about “hightest damage” in this game are wrong, as Guanglai Kangyi has shown before first DPS class is ele, then mesmer, then thief, then guardian and then rest is on the very similar tier.

Mesmers Trairs
Domination- 1, 3, 10
Dueling- 2, 11
Illusions- 1, 3
Thief Traits
Deadly Arts- 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10
Critical Strikes- 2, 3, 5, 9, 12
Shadow Arts- 7,
Acrobatics- 2, 3
Trickery- 4, 5, 7
Where do you find Elementalist being first in high ouput damage in the trait line? They only have 9 high output damage traits in their trait lines??
Where do you find Memsers being 2nd in high output damage in the trait line? They only have 7 high output damage traits in their trait lines??
Thief have 17 high output damages traits in their trait line, why not put them at the top place?

While ‘other game’ arguments have no value anyway, you are, as usual, quite mistaken on the ‘facts’. Other games do allow (re-) entering stealth from combat – and have for quite some time. Not that you’d care though.
Im sorry you had to resort to personal attacks, but no, most other games, and all decent pvp games dont allow restealthing while in combat unless there are easy hard counters to permastealth. So you are misinformed.
Interesting that you’d find personal attacks in there, that sounds almost as if any statement that opposes your opinion would be seen as a personal attack.
You were, and are, wrong, in many ways. First, other games are just that, other games. They balance their classes differently, rogues/assassins may have less stealth, but more defensive abilities, or passive evasion while in stealth, or perhaps they have even more access to stealth and defensive abilities, but do less damage. They might even not exist and lack or have any abilities, or penalties you care to bring into, or leave out of the discussion, how is anyone going to show otherwise? And if they do, you just wiggle like a politician and add some vague qualification like ‘decent’ in there somewhere.
You weren’t just wrong in bringing other games into the discussion, you were also wrong about the other games, you were wrong about permastealth in other games, you were wrong about entering stealth during combat, you are wrong about (hard) counters to stealth in GW.
So, yeah, you were wrong. Again.
And why, if you think GW has such a sub-par PvP, are you still here?
Well, my experience is with daoc, Warhammer, Aion, TF2 and Wow. All had or have some combination of hard counters and/or very limited ability to enter stealth while in combat. This game has neither, hence the constant hatred for on demand perma stealth in this game. I find playing a stealth class much much easier here than in those other games.
I completely agree with you Sanduskel in fact recently last week i had 17 guild players quit the game because of this. They stated how “cheap” thief class in and how this game is based on ‘playing hide and seek’ and favoritism. They laughed on the way out.
And i laughed too… why not? as i myself am much closer to the way out than ever
Yes, it is the same thief guild i belong in and it is rapidly falling apart. In fact within each months; 3-8 thief players walks away from this game due to same theatrics and nonsense etc…
It’s either Arena.net listen to their players and make thief class worth challenging, worth playing and fun or continue to witness more and more players quitting the game.
Alongside with their Favoritism, Superiority and Elitism mindset of having God classes in the game.
By the way, i’ve been playing a lot less with my zombie ranger; (seriously, who need a dead corpse following them around?) and spending more time with other lively worthily classes.

I also feel that this accurately sums up what’ wrong w/ the warrior: it does everything too well. They heal like they’re guardians, they deal damage like they’re thieves, and they have high mobility to to it off with.

In pretty much every MMO, because in most MMO you have armor OR damage. Light and Medium armor classes pretty much always deal more damage than Heavy armor classes.
And you know what? Compared to most MMO I had played warrior in GW2 is much, much closer to Thief DPS.

Ranger should be Master of Range, Long Range Damage, Applying Condition, Applying Traps, Removing Condition, Mobility, Regeneration, and Survivability; not Warrior or Thief.
Thief in the other hand, should be Master of Mobility as well, and Evasion; nothing more, nothing else.
Only in Guild Wars 2 where you will find these two classes being freely given God Mode status mechanics and having Full Unlimited Domination among the remaining classes and the game.

In support to the Op, i took my necromancer to wvw and was 1vs1 with an elementalist, i asked myself, why not 1 drop of damage?
I even had party members who came to my aid to burst that elementalist with their conditions, again, no damage whatsoever.
There’s even a thread about their aoe’kittenting all the way inside of a keep, preventing players from defending their keep.
Seriously, we need the balance team from guild war 1 back or a new balance team who do not practice Elitism and Favoritism.
We are very tired of it.
