Hello disappoint, I’m Jake
from State Farm?
Can we please have a sub-forum (read: basement) For those that obviously hate the game and only post to troll others, bash the game and only spread negativism?
I loved this episode. Loved playing a new CHARACTER. I love the new ideas coming out in recent updates. I say bravo and bring on more like these. Missions like these only broaden the game, while also giving us an idea of what can be done. As with anything else there are gonna be people who don’t like something. I am not one of those people in this regard. Bravo on a job well done Anet!
At least for win7: If you tab out during map loading GW2 will flash orange in the taskbar when map is loaded.
I love this since I alt +tab often, nice little stealth change!
I haven’t got a box as a drop, but as I see this could become an issue for me, I do support being able to trade it in to a merchant or a vendor with a fair cost.
No the horror is ANET’s complete lack of direction for these event’s, yes long term players can figure it out but there should be some explanation on the part of ANET as WHAT you do. It has always been a problem of theirs and needs to be fixed. That is another reason they have a hard time keeping people playing!
I am a long term player and I think that it is just not nice at all for new players, People should not have to wait for someone to put out a guide so they know what to do but Most People HAVE TO! mainly because of the LACK of DIRECTIONS!
I really don’ think this is a “long-term”/veteran player thing, so much as take a moment and observe what’s going on around the area. I found the execution to be a bit tricky, but I had no problems figuring out what it was Anet intended for me to do during this Living Story. There is a fine line sometimes between “clear directions” and “hand-holding”, and I don’t envy the devs that have to make that call.
That may be but I am a guild leader and most ppl DO NOT KNOW what to do as new players, it has nothing to do with hand holding it has to do with experience this game has ALOT to learn if you want to play properly and MOST of the mechanics are not know by new player so they DO NOT KNOW WHAT to look for!
I am happy for you being able to complete it but that will not be the case for the MAJORITY of players XD
As I said, this was the first stealth mission ever in GW2. Veterans were as clueless as new players. It was new to all players.
Which is WHY ANET should provide more DIRECTIONS with thier new content, Thk you for backing up my point XD
I for one DO NOT WANT directions. Personally I enjoy figuring it out myself! It was not that difficult of a mission. It was fun and I enjoyed it.
The never ending complain… just stop already.
LOVED THE NEW EPISODE AND LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT ONE. THANK YOU ANET FOR THE FREE CONTENT I WILL PLAY AND ENJOY.
Yes, opposed to what they used to say: ‘Too much content, not enough time, we feel to rushed…slow down the releases!’
So, the Devs did. They slowed down the releases, and (in my opinion) gave us less. And now? The forums are still full of complaints, just the opposite ones. Poor Devs!
This. I wonder if people will ever get tired of complaining.
People keep trying to give my Engi a hammer that he doesn’t really want… he said he would rather have a bazooka, and no not a charzooka.
I think you could live with a charzooka if it was a new weapon type eh? Still, engi probably needs a new weapon addition more than any other class since your options are almost nill anyways. I think a sword engi sounds rather cool, since you could go with sword-guns that have attached barrels for instance, and maybe more mechanical type swords that have other effects like oiled blades that ignite on strike, etc.
Or an extremely large pipe wrench! trying to think of others that would be engi-appropriate and drawing blanks really…hmm
Tool Kit gives you a wrench.
It’s actually rather satisfying bashing things with a wrench.
Oh I agree, and use it, but I mean as a main weapon, not a kit. I am talking a big 2 handed monster wrench of smacking!
I’m curious: what do you do in game that does not give you loads of ascended materials and karma?
Edge of the Mists, the karma train, or run around Silverwastes doing all the events and opening up bandit chests will gain you a good amount of all the above.
(…)
You’re talking about crafting as if it is some impossible hurdle to cross. If you follow a guide, it should take less than 30 minutes to fully level a craft. I think you just want a cheaper way to get ascended, because crafting is expensive. It is, for players that dont grind the dungeon redundancy it is expensive(i dont like pve side of gw2), followed a guide to craft armor to 400 was about craft stuff i dont need or never will use, reached arround 412-415 had to stop due gold sink in stuff that i would not need.
Edit: and IMO i rather burn money on other game than get gems for ascended gear, but each one to is own.
You are supposed to salvage the items you craft and don’t need, or sell the ones that are valuable on the TP to keep the funds flowing. I don’t do dungeons either and I have 500 crafting in the disciplines I want. It is not that big of a deal. Having said that, Ascended armor is very grindy and/or expensive, but I feel it is meant to be, and I don’t really have an issue with that.
I play GW2 because I enjoy the gameplay + Story of the game which no other MMORPG has done before. Both Gameplay & Story are equally important in video games. You may not like it but lots of players do.
Completely agree with this. I am definitely in the “do like it” crowd.

Considering all the talk this community does about an expansion on this forum and elsewhere, I would think aNet would at least verify that they’re not actively working on an expansion (which doesnt seem to violate their “we dont talk about what we are working on” policy).
I wonder what would happen if the community were to just demand an answer by posting “aNet, are you working on an expansion?” over and over, and reply with that same line, indefinitely until they responded concisely about it, without posting any other point of discussion, forsaking all other communication.
So kick and scream and beat fists on the floor ’til you get your way? Yeah ok. I will be glad to wait til “whatever” is ready, whenever it is ready. Thanks.
Great then you cam replace me I left 2 weeks ago. Unlike you if an expansion never shows up then neither will I.
See… I don’t get why people that (say they) don’t play the game continue to post, some on a daily basis. Makes no sense. These are the type of posts and posters that should be avoided OP. They don’t care about the game they just want to troll and be a pest to the mods.
WoW doesn’t appease me. They are charging monthly subs, something I don’t like utterly.
So I go for GW2. Let’s see how this game holds me (new player here and downloading now).
Welcome and I hope you enjoy it!
I just wish they add in more Horizontal progression, but they need to be more creative.
No more kitten things like agony resistance or Ascended gear, and getting new skins does not count as progression.I want real “horizontal” progression.
Would you mind detailing what you consider that to be? Please and Thanks!
well, there are lots of ways to do this.
1) more traits
2) introducing items with special abilities (like armor that grants you aegis every min, or boots that allow you to jump twice in the air etc…) like items that make your play style mechanically different , instead of statically different.
Thanks I do like the idea of more traits (which I’d think there will be fore sure) and also the different abilities/features/actions with armors idea, that reminds me of Diablo 2.

Yay for someone that sees the bigger picture and posts something… dare I say hopeful! amidst all the “doom and gloom” and “oh woe is me GW2 is dead posts”
Don’t blame the players posting it wasn’t them who put a freeze on all information it was management at Anet/NCSoft. People need to direct their disappointment at them and not the players here asking for information, because frankly they’re not at fault here.
What absolutely blows my mind is just how unconcerned or even oblivious management seems to be by all this negativity.
I’m not blaming anyone really, but negativism and trolling is certainly not the answer and those things are disappointing. What are they supposed to say? “You bad bad fans saying all these mean things about us, the nerve!” As I have said before I wouldn’t want to deal with a bunch of the crap that goes on here either. That said I too would like to know what Anet has up their sleeve, but I am not proclaiming the game is dead and no one wants to play it anymore and such. Clearly those things are not true, and saying them certainly isn’t going to force Anet to tell us anything. If people acted in a mature manner then maybe there would not be a “freeze” on information. I do not think there has been a freeze exactly, I feel it is more of a poker type situation of not showing their hand at the wrong time… maybe I’m wrong I guess we will see.
Honestly I wanted a worthy successor to GW1. Not sure if it is that “yet” I am willing to have faith and trust though, I don’t feel it has been damaged to the point of not giving that. I am not a white knight as there are things I take issue with, and I am not a basher or someone who just posts on here to troll or as some sort of payback for a perceived slight by devs or Anet. I am a fan of the franchise and the lore, especially the art, which has always been top notch. I want an escape from reality in a game world I enjoy. So far I think I have got way over the $60 whatever dollars I paid for the game (and various gem card purchases here and there) I feel that Anet has delivered a lot of content for free in the 2 years I have been playing GW2, and around 10 years total, and I appreciate that.
It’s hard for me to understand the negativity that is present in these forums of late and I am hopeful that can change. I don’t know if expansion is the ultimate answer, but I know I would buy it as soon as it was possible. I do feel it is worth it to stick around and see what is in store, as I have not been let down so far in any major way. I understand people want different things and that it is impossible to please everyone. However, I can say without a doubt overall I am pleased with the Guild Wars world and look forward to many more hours playing in Tyria! (and Cantha… and Elona?)
That question is senseless as we’re playing Guild Wars 2. Connecting GW2 with GW1 is the least they can do.
I feel it is essential that they do this more. Taking the good things from GW1 and incorporating them into GW2 would be a great thing in my opinion.
Most likely there will be a expansion next year I’m thinking right around the third anaversory of Guildwars2. This being the 10th anaversory of the GuildWars franchise they really need something big to go with that event why not a expansion and also maybe new content in Guildwars1. With the desaster that was Wildstar the only thing Ncsoft has making any money right now is guildwar2 and maybe Aoin. So they need a new cash flow. What better way than a payed Guildwars2 expantion

All your progress and stuff is safe.
Only in GW2 would a weapon set be judged on its ability to tag mobs over its actual contribution to a fight.
Mesmer GS is woefully underestimated in pve. It’s not as powerful as sword for dungeon melee stacking, but in a shatter build, GS is key in delivering 20k+ clone bombs which can be pulled off every 40 seconds, with 15k mind wracks every 11 seconds. It’s far superior for killing things in the open field where things move around and you can’t rely on phantasms to stay up.
Another dungeoneer chimes in… To be clear… not everyone plays dungeons in this game, or wants to.
I refuse to be told how, when, or what to use and want no part of anyone who tries to herd me.
As for you… Have you ever taken advice in your entire life? For anything? Did you stop to think maybe someone was just trying to help when they suggested you use a certain weapon? Your attitude reflects the social decay of today’s society (at least here in the U.S.) and it’s depressing. Someone opens their mouth to give free advice during a cooperative activity, and he receives a mountain of vitriol for his effort. As if advice has become an insult.
Let me tell you something. When a player suggests you play a certain way, they aren’t doing so out of some secret Illuminati world domination conspiracy. They just want to increase the groups chances of beating the boss. Everyone benefits, including you. You don’t have to do everything everyone says, but it doesn’t hurt to listen.
K well thanks for all that I guess… I never said I didn’t listen or even take the advice, I said I didn’t want to be herded and feel like I “have” to do something in order to play in someone’s party or use this or that or anything… I am always open to suggestions and THOUGHTFUL input… which of course is up to me whether I implement it or not. Not sure why you turned things personal and attacking, but hey I can take it.

Seems easy to me Put it away. No confusion there just common sense.
True Statement right there. CS is severely lacking in this world these days.
The newer mobs are indeed smarter and are working together and actually utilizes their skills in a good way.
Increasing the AI and having the enemies work together (ala GW1) could only be a good thing IMO. Glad to see this more in the recent updates.
Ranged tagging is a niche and completely unneeded. You can tag perfectly fine with sword auto and wardens and it does more damage.
You guys really need to stop being so defensive. If you like using gs you can. I dont care. But to answer the OP’s question I wouldnt include mesmer in the list.
Sorry, but I don’t find the whole of PVE to be an “extremely niche situation”
The anti-GS Mesmer thing probably originated in the dungeon forum. And it is a poor weapon choice when damage really matters, but it’s perfectly fine for general PvE.
Well good I can disregard that and play the way I enjoy still!
Dont use greatsword on mesmer.
Um ok… why?
I have no idea what that’s about either. Skill #1 is a very good attack, particularly at longer ranges (the further away you are, the more damage it inflicts), and skill #3 is pretty good at tagging multiple targets. In fact, the greatsword is my mesmer’s primary weapon.
Same here, with staff as my weapon swap. Not sure what that poster is talking about.
Dont use greatsword on mesmer.
Um ok… why?
GW1 system where builds was created around elites was better.
This. There doesn’t seem to be much synergy between weapon skills, utility skills and Elite skills at times. Would like to see more synergy between skills and more flexibility with skills and where they can be slotted, in a fair and balanced manner.
I just converted a ton of green planks into dowels when I meant to create green planks from logs to promote to soft planks.
I swear the crafting recipes in the crafting screen get randomize every session. Why put green dowels at the bottom after green planks? You need planks to get dowels, and every other green wood item.
Grrr.
I have wondered what was the point of the materials and such shuffling around every time too. Why make things more difficult than necessary?
I totally support this. I think it is a great idea, and something I have wished for since launch.
This is a game about combat and war. The dating stuff and anything cutesy could be deleted and it would only improve things.
0% interest in cat girls and cutesy rainbow sparkles and unicorns and all other such stuff. Were it my choice I would remove it all. Having said that I would like to be able to one day play a Tengu character.
The OP is fine, and clear, I don’t see a need for editing it. I do agree that I would like to see recipes that are account unlocked. I would just go ahead and unlock the inscription on the second character so there is no need for switching.
Please don’t speak for me. I play GW2 almost every evening, and I’m still excited every time I log in and click Play.
Yep. Having fun and enjoying playing here. Please don’t speak for me either OP.
My gameplay experience is not the same as yours. Just seems like you made a post to complain and bash.
As others have said, not seeing a problem here.
The answer to the question Mounts: Yes/No is obviously YES, because they already exist in the game….. the Flying Broom, the Flying Carpet, someone can argue that the Transforms work like mounts. Then we go to the “meat” of the questions and further split it into a variety of options.
Cosmetic Only
Just passive speed boosts (with different opinions on their speed)
Full unique SkillbarsAnd then we go to acquisitions methods
Dungeons, Gold, Gem store etctl:dr The question Mounts Yes/No has been answered by Anet, we have Mounts in the game, the REAL question is, “Do you want Mounts to be expanded to something more?”
NO. /15 characters
Voting no/15 message length
I see no reason why this should be included in GW2.
I’d like to trade runs in GW1 content for runs in GW2 content. Example: I want my character in GW2 to have dungeon master title. I would like a way to help others further their GW1 account, by helping me with my GW2 account.
Ok, got it and what search terms do I need to look for?
Over 70% of veteran players (those who started playing this game at launch) have moved on to new games or reverted back to older MMOs which still dish out more content. It is only a very small group of people who are actually content with the progress of LS. Everyone knows that for an MMO to be good, it must continue to grow in the amount of content it provides. This is fact. Otherwise, it is simply a single player game with multiplayer features.
Wow. Do you have a link showing the current playerbase numbers, and who has left, who hasn’t and how often they play? I’d be very interested in seeing these numbers!
Google it.
So in other words you can’t produce a link.
Spent 2 BL tickets and accidentally double clicked on 2 skins that were worth far less than the 2 I was intending to buy.
You may want to check Divinity’s Reach too. At least that’s where I park my toons.
We don’t have toons in this game, surely you are mistaken and meant to say characters.
