Charr should have been the main enemy. Undead are boring and repetitive.

Becasue it goes with the lore Elder dragons create champions and minions by corrupting the current living beings in Tyria.
Zhaitan uses minions corrupted by death
Jormag uses minions corrupted by frost
Klaky are all crystal corrupted minions.
Primordus are all lava/rock like minions.
You can argue that all them uses undead in a way they just look different because of the type corruption that turned them.
Another thread about this? already discussed. he effed up, Eir effed up, both should have known better.
Never forget…
Before Destiny’s edge, before the pact, the orders…
The Norn battled Jormag… by themselves with no tanks, no cannons, no allies… not even a united effort just a few Norn stood alone against a freaking elder dragon.
Yes, they lost but they have a tooth to prove that they are not to be taken lightly.
Necro 80, because I wanted to see the the “ending” of the game.
Alts currently 31W, 30Eng, 20R, 15Ele, 15G, 10M, 4T
Am I playing like that to go slow? not really more like efficiency in crating … all my crafted gear gets used by the other toons (hence all the rounded levels)
Prob why I don’t grieve too much about TP… all my crafted gear is useful, and mats are easy to come by since each toon gets enough mats by completing their zones to craft their own gear.
Intentional or not I can’t tell you , but I have noticed that only some merchant do this in the same area. Some sell high level tools others sell regular tools.
Yeah in some parts the heavy class feels (emphasis in “feel”) easier… the switch from a light to a heavy has been quite liberating.
Are you suing fine transmutation stones ( the blue ones)?
I miss some text from guildies too… but, at least for me, the reason is that gameplay is a bit engaging (read not paying attention during battles gets me killed) unlike in GW where standing still meant nothing, So guild halls, yes and as stated already are being developed.
I have fun in dungeons but do know I mostly do them with people I know (in game not in RL) and I do not farm them. I do believe some day I will farm for tokens and will become trivial, but for now they are challenging and fun to overcome for me
Yes trans stones are there (until 80 then you need fine trans stones) but it simply doesn’t feel right to buy a skin (not actual gear just a skin) and only have 1 use out of it. and yes I’m swimming in trans stones too… still I won’t buy skins until they work like HoM rewards, soulbound of course.
It would be pretty awesome if the big bad in GW2 turned out to be the BLTC (ala eastern india trading company in some movies) tugging the strings of war to profit from all the sales taxes and fees.
It’s not that they didn’t want to rez you. It’s just the majority of players in Cursed Shore are bots and CAN’T rez you.
Maybe some kid can teach this bots to be more human… to value life and feel empathy… teach them to say things like “I’ll be back”and “hasta la vista baby”
what?
Expect it, no you should not expect it since its not required and people can be as * as they want to be.
But they should have helped, I would have done it…. well I would have asked if you need a rez in case you were afk or a bot, some people are nice some are not, just don’t start being like them.
OP says that some people are taking advantage of sellers by artificially posting a lower prices to get other sellers to undercut him/her and then buying at lower prices.
Thing is… if I post something lower that the current spread it would meet a buyer´s request and the item would get sold immediately and not affect the market.
So, no this is not a problem of such epic proportions. It could of course help a savvy buyer to get a small advantage (always between the spread) but if the other sellers are not willing to commit the effort to check the price trends (Did this happen to you OP?) and sell lower than they could then… well its the sellers problem. In the long term it wont affect the market.
Noup, the toon that is active at the moment gets the email with the goods. Since Skins are 1 use only yo can only apply it to 1 armor only. Same with dyes.
Unnless you guarantee the loan with Gems!!! then Anet can actually become a RL loan shark.
And how that differs from selling gems for gold?
1. Not a serious post hence the quip to Anet becoming a Loan Shark.
2. But if you want to argue it would be a tad different since you would get a gold loan that comes with interests and guarantee you ability to pay it with Gems (not unlike getting a loan in dollars and guaranteeing said loan with a CD in Euros) If you repay your gold loan then the gems guarantee ins’t exercised (read you don’t pay real money for the loan).
Hearts are not really there to level you, think of them as guides (level 45 heart? cool I’m 45 I can play in this area)
Leveling comes from doing events and killing mobs (yes, sometime you actually have to kill mobs not just run past them), gathering mats (crafting helps but if not interested just sell everything in the TP )
There are reasons for the bosses to aggro you its not out of spite… well actually it could be.
Can’t recall correctly but there was a thread that tested this something about, distance (moveout of range for few seconds and aggro will shift), High DPS, squikittenoons are targeted first if possible (glass cannons). Players with health already lowered will be targeted first.
I’ve seen this happen to me on Dungeons (necro) I’ve had the ranger boss followed me for what seem like an eternity (even when I threw myself in the pit to escape, the freaking boss walked all the way down to get me 2 TIMES! (pretty funny actually, since I play Asura) so I kept kitting and running past my heavier teammates to get aggro to shift again.
I would add that the aggro shifts when the boss can’t lower your health in “x%” in “x” amount of time, since after some kitting the ranger seemed to get bored and go for someone else.
I would take that warning as a yes, bag slot will be destroyed.
Unnless you guarantee the loan with Gems!!! then Anet can actually become a RL loan shark.
The best solution that I’ve seen so far is that the TP should automatically buy stuff that will lose money because of the tax+ fee this way items that will prob won’t sell anyway won’t clutter the tp.
There are other ways to solve this.
I have the same concern in Orr (ddily achivment anyone) as the OP (which is why Im playing on alts now) they should simply change Orr so that in some “zones” risen are considered different mobs, so if you are moving around this (invisible) zones killing risen will not trigger anti farming codes.
well if its only for the armor I dont see a problem with simply giving the option to buy the armor even if you are from another order (after you have killed zhaitan of course) since you would be rcognized as a hero by all 3 orders.
The part that is missing OP is that this is the “heroes Journey” plot device think of any movie/novel/etc where the hero has this grand destiny to fight evil (sometimes he/she/it doesn’t even know it) but lacks the strength/knowledge/etc to just do it, still he travels to fight this evil and during this journey to the inevitable clash with the big bad he ecounters other people/cities/etc that need help be it bandits or a citiy being sieged or simple things like a caravan needing escort to puting out fires. So the hero helps and as he/she/it does this grows stronger and becomes a is finally able to fight the big bad. Only after the “heroe’s journey” is done then comes the climatic battle (sadly underwhelming in GW2).
So why not do it the old fashioned and give you quest? becasue Anet decided to make it about the journey, you can travel through any area and find problems that need solving and some you will take head on and some you won’t becasue you are the hero so you where your help is needed.
Remember after your intro battle? (after creating your toon) the first NPC that spoke to you? They start you on this road
Norn get this “… Think of the glory!”
simple destroy the chest. problem gone.
I don’t care either way, but support the option since it won’t require that much effort to implement.
Beware though you can still find yourself with guildies, I’ve bump into them by coincidence all the time.
Sorry for not following OP question but I Like Lions Arch what with all the booty there and all.
-Profession specializations, instead of new profession. (thief can go assassin or spy, etc) with a couple of new skills and new elites (not that many just enough to make the class seem different)
-New weapons
-Weapons could improve with usage (10000 kills with hammer makes you more proficient and apply extra conditions with the regular skills)
-New crafting tier with a really hard learning curve (read not expensive, just hard) for example needing some special mats that are account bound on acquire after max level yo can make more customized gear stats (combining stats not currently craft able)
-And sure a new region, a new race (only 1), a new dragon to kill (looking at you Klaky).
They link up at For trinity so you can travel Frot trinity → homebase (vigil, priory, whisers) whichall are convenietly close to LA where the rest of the asura gates are. so you can save some coin by walking between the gates.
Well Maxster, you kinda missed the part about mats being priced more because of high demand for leveling crafting. Once this demands dies down mats and finished good will become indifferent in price (assuming everyone has all prof, otherwise finished goods will have a profit).
Again look at the TP copper is down from 25c+ g to about 20c and still dropping. Nobody needs them to level anymore so prices drop. If everyone has all prof then mats or finished good become indifferent. If not everyone has all prof then a buyer has to look at whether is cheaper to level said prof or buy the item from a craftsman.
What you are doing is comparing what happens while you are leveling a trade against an uncertain future when everyone is already leveled just to try to prove your point.
Leveling your trade is unprofitable just like when you go to college you have to pay to learn your chosen trade, understand this please. You are “devaluating” (as you say) the values of mats to gain XP and a higher level in your trade (don’t dismiss this just to prove your point).
Finally Just because you can’t profit from it doesn’t mean no one is doing it. When +magic find items where in high demand many crafters made a lot of gold simply because not everyone had all crafts (yet) at the correct level.
My opinion is that people are lazy and that not everyone will have all trades maxed out (PvP’ers prob won’t even start one) others will quit before leveling to 400. So I’m taking a risk and leveling a couple of trades which I believe will become profitable with current market tendencies.
Ethic is right and Maxter is right and Rhaj is
The real problem here is that everyone can have all max prof for a relatively low cost.
Here is the thing:
Normally finished goods costs more than the mats used to make but in GW mats are more valuable than finished goods.. why?
because people are getting something more from the mats than the finished
goods. XP and having a Profession (think like paying college tuition, you pay now
to earn later).
Ok so then will someday I be able to make profits (large or small) out of crafting?
It depends, if one finished good has more demand than other and you can craft it
then yes you will make profit (large or small). As it has been correctly pointed out
unless you farm the mats its hard to make a profit. This will settle once everyone
has finished leveling their prof and stop demanding the mats. Once this happens
mat prices will drop. Look at TP basic mats are plummeting! why? most people
are already beyond 75+ in crafting.
So what happens when everyone is a 400 crafter?
Here is where the problem comes to play either everyone maxes out all prof. in
which case buying mats or finished good is indifferent and profit will be really
difficult to make. Or not all prof are covered and you can sell your goods for a
better profit
To the OP as you pointed out “I thought” and “I want” these are things you assumed you were going to be able to do, but not necessary Anet’s intention. Crafting is meant to make you self sufficient for gear not self sufficient for gold, you can make a profit if the conditions are right, but only time will tell.
There is a reason fro both of those negatives.
1. race change because if you want to try a new prof just start a new toon (or buy more slots wink wink)
2. Since names are world wide (not server wide) you can build a rep good or bad and it stays with you.
Now Appearance change, this will happen, Devs have hinted at something that will be worked on (on other similar threads) and we had it in GW1 (even sex change)
I like this idea!
I played ranged for my first toon (necro) and didn’t had troubles with knockback much I still had to move a lot due my low health/defense, then I switched to a warrior and I thought well this class is freaking easy to play Tons of health + armor + regen (signet) move in spam abilities, done…. for the first 20 levels then knockback came into play…
Point being the reason for knockback/daze/etc is to counterbalance phys centric builds. I’m learning how to avoid some. It is frustrating though, but with time I´m sure we will find workarounds.
When I looged to WvW first thing I do is look for the vets and follow their lead, have a blast storming keeps and defending towers. My guild is not WvW centric but we are very casual so not everyone is level 80 yet. (yes some people take their time enjoying the journey imagine that!) But we in GW! we had “events” to raid dungeons or vanquish so I can already see WvWW (World vs World Weekend) events thrown into the mix.
Why do you miss your grind? Is someone keeping you from grinding?
BTW those legendaries sure look like grind to me.
GOTY.
Lol no…
Yet. I’m sure it will get a lot better as time goes by. By then I hope to have all my 8 toons at max level = P and start my way for dungeon armor and legendaries.
To the OP.
1 reason right? and this thread will go away?
fine.
Because the game was NOT designed to include mounts. Is not about not giving you what you want its simply that by DESIGN there will be no mounts.
Like the autorelease idea. The safe box/invisible bags are fine as they are.
@GummiBear actually no I do not mean heart vendors (and thanks for proving my point =P )
Some of the medium post have actual weapon and armor sellers they even tier it (first tier are x level second tier a higher level) Their icons are a sword and an helmet. They work exactly like they do in GW1 (minus the crafting components).
And not getting all the weapons skills right away might not be so bad, some players will get to “stay” with a weapon longer because they have already spent the cooper and will suddenly find a “free” drop of a different weapon much more valuable.
“also this suggestions would take care of the botting problems to a degree since removing the dependancy on so many gold removes the need to have many gold entirely which in the end will discourage buying it.”
See, your problem is right here.
Anet also profits from gold selling, so the more gold you need for cosmetic purposes the more money they (may) get. While I don’t think your suggestion are invalid (nor do I support them) You have to understand that the need for gold will not change.
My suggestion is to take a laid back approach, hopefully this game will be around for quite some time and you will be able to make one of this by simply playing regularly (while of course saving what you know needs saving)
Use /sit or /sleep most people will understand you are not playing atm.
Yes, the Devs notice it, said it wans’t intended and that they are fixing it.
At level 80 you can engage in the beatiful art of complaining about there not being anything to do.
Have fun!
No they dont work like the HoM rewards skins.
You can only apply them once after that if you want to use it on another armor you must use transmutations stones (or fine trans stones if the gear is level 80) to move the look from your current armor to a new piece of equipment.
The HoM rewards can applied and reapplied as many times as you want to as many items as you want withut any t stones.
@ GummiBeat again I must fall back on GW1 example, first time I played I thought how on earth am I supposed to get armor if no one drops them (I was coming from D2). Bu there were armor sellers (with no magical properties for low level ones) at prices that were affordable to what was expected of a toon of the level they were in.
IN GW2 we have armor sellers too but I don’t think anyone even notices them because really why would you? the firefly that you just killed dropped a chainmail (prob casue it liked the bling?).
I was surprised when I got armor drops in Beta, maybe not complety erase the drops but add a chance of the item beign broken?
yeah events repeat a lot (there are other players out there), when you see one either decide to do it again (for drops for example) or keep going.
If at some point you feel “underleveled” repeating events is a great way of geting xp and loot.
Is it free when you have to work for them? Nope, last I checked Arena net wants me to explore or complete daily tasks and complete dungeons.
Sure they are not promised but the last thing I want is a ton of unopened chests.
You can destroy the chests you know (or sell them in the tp).
And yes they are free, all of the things you mentioned are rewarded with etiher xp, karma, copper, items or mystic coins the keys are freebies to get you to try the chest and hopefully buy a few sometime.
I can’t stop laughing. Best thread ever.
