Disappointed with halloween start

Reward tracks….. for wvsw the final gift is a 20 slot bag……just what?!!? Why would anyone need another way to get a 20 slot bag at this point. You already gave us cheap 20 and 17 slot bags for wvswers. And the rest of the reward is just halloween bags….which sure i can get behind but when ur final reward is ANOTHER 20 slot bag to toss in the garbage its a waste.

Tp: honestly this is really sparse pickings. What you offered leading up to halloween (the cats and the other costumes and stuff) was way wayyy better than this stuff (imo).

The new weapon skins….i think the shield looks okay other than that its alll really boring (again its my opinion).

Just nothing really exciting to buy with gems so far…..even the gem prices reflect this.
The halloween events are hopefully gonna be good enough.
I just hope more stuff comes out of this halloween. Was hoping for some excitement at the start to get my hyped.

I was really disappointed with last halloween. I mean I attended the 2012 one and it was awesome! there were special events and skins in wvsw….and all over the pve maps….and it was really great. Lions arch was awesome…the events were fun and unique and different from normal pve at the time.
Just now…..its area specific and limited….and dulll…..not a living world event anymore. I’m starting to think anet is doing this on purpose to be more tolerant to special cultures in the community….but its wrong to limit the game based on such ideas! Its really just an easy way to do less work.

Just hoping halloween isn’t like last years…..just not a good start i guess is the point of this thread (IMO). Hopefully things change in the coming week?

No invulnerability for downed players

Please please please!!!! Once you realize how great this is in pvp…..

….Please please please bring it to wvsw!!!

It will make everyone happy! People will die faster! There will be less latency! Smaller groups will have more opportunities to whittle down larger zergs! Large zergs that trample their foes won’t have any survivors making it out alive (cause before they would go down and cancel any heavy aoe/traps placed on them cause of their invulnerability)!

Everyone wins!

I guess…..except if you happen to be in a lower skill bracket and rely on teammates to heal you when downed. Or alternatively you use a glass build with the intent that ur heals come from getting revived when downed.
Getting downed would punish ur teammates more, whereas before it would actually buff alot of them to ridiculous amounts. So I mean getting downed alot gives ur party alot of combat buffs presently (they cancel high damage aoe attacks as well remember)….so those buffs would be diminished.

Its kinda like: playing in a normal mmo or any game, having a party member decapitate himself on the spot randomly, and then as the blood trickles down everyone in the group getting buffed and the headless guy coming back to life 2 seconds later.

But I mean…….everyone can change how they play a bit to make it so they still win from this change. I think that qualifies it as a win-win still.

And then…hopefully if this change comes one day we’ll see rez’ing dead bodies go away too…..I mean can you picture them including rez’ing dead bodies to pvp?
I can….and it wouldn’t be as horrible as you might think. It would just play exactly like wvsw lol. Maybe then pvpers will make us see how stupid wvsw combat can be.

And maybe then we can have the stupid ooc nerfed from wvsw too (where you walk out of an aoe and you regen from 1% to 100% hp in 3 seconds). Just a crazy idea but maybe it can mimick whats ooc is like in pvp……just crazy idea i know. Just how easy and stupid it is to get ooc when you run in a large group….i cannot begin to explain to pvpers or myself why it exists in this fashion.

I still think that warrior adrenal health in combination with the healing power of healing signet…..needs to be nerfed to some degree. Or just adrenal health itself needs more nerfs. Headbutt too is stupidly useful and dumbs the whole class down alot when you combine it with the insane healing. toss in rousing resilience and its almost as ridiculous as druid heals. was hoping for a nerf to the defense traitline. Seriously the amount of survivability we get from this single traitline (defense traitline) is just plain dumb. I get its the only thing keeping melee users viable….but its just dumb the way its setup.

Other than that, rather happy with the changes to warriors this build. Everything i saw in the notes made sense. Decrease the cd of wildblow and bullrush for example….they’ve been decreasing and decreasing them and now bullrush is literally half the cd it used to be (its about time). It honestly won’t make them viable for most people to try…but for funner and more specific/specialized types of builds they give people more viable ways to include them.
Signet of fury is now 16s cd when traited…..same as healing signet. This is absolutely awesome for gunflamers. The main problem was being unable to immediately engage the next target after finishing the last one. You would need to wait a few seconds for most of ur cd’s to go out…..now this shouldn’t be a problem since the cd of fury is so much closer to the activation time of berserker mode.

Also I’m Tired of revenant complainers…….
-everyone had the option of taking and learning this new class (its just 1 year old now).
-it was op beyond belief when it was shipped
-its been nerfed bit by bit ever since then and the complaints are the same as they are now

It was still viable and in the meta last build…..and the build before that and the build before that….it will still be viable and meta THIS build. Anet just spoiled the class when it shipped it, now you must learn to look at things more objectively.
Just go back to what you played before revenant…..get rekt, and then maybe you’ll see how good you got it with rev.

There are people that would prefer for a WvW map a big, perfectly flat land without textures, just a waypoint for each server. Don’t mind them.

Traited vengeance doesn’t exist as far as warriors are concerned.

I’d like the rally thing to change somehow as well. 25% is just ridiculous. I’d rather it be something like “gain 10 more seconds of vengeance on kill” in addition to the 25% chance to rally…..so you can keep fighting if you don’t get the rally at least.

To balance, using vengeance could lead to 30-60 seconds of disabled downed state. SO if you do rally and get downed again…you just die automatically.

Idk I made an impulse buy and got them. The headband I don’t really like…..would rather just have the ears themselves. I mean I knew all this before I bought them….I found a colour that fit my hairstyle in the preview that hid the headband in my hair.

I go and buy it though…..and first thing i notice is that the lighting affects it differntly than my hair colour. So depending on the time of day and where I am….the colour difference is really really obvious and annoying.

Really don’t get why there aren’t dyes that are the same colour as the hair dyes….like why the heck wouldn’t u?

Condi warrior running a bow is pretty effective at times….you can run whatever you want in the other weapon set (mace/sheild/sword/torch). You can run that boulder breaking primal which is kinda fun and interesting at times with all its utility.

I mean we have maybe 3-4 meta’ish builds total for each type….2 for power (melee or rifle) and 2 for condi (melee or bow). If all 4 are boring then…..idk what to tell you. Revenant time?

Wait and “1vs1 (warrior)” you mean in a mirror match rifle warrior is strongest? I would not agree with that even if you are running a defense traited rifle build.

Smarter Dueling

Sry OP but I don’t see anet doing this. They made OS a dueling zone…..gave it a nice colloseum for duelers to fight in. Nobody uses it but that’s besides the point. Your asking anet to admit their original idea was stupid and to do all this work to create a new one…..one that will cause them to get ALOT of reports/customerserviceproblems.

And honestly? Duelers pretty much don’t exist anymore. Its very very rare that I will come across them. For some reason the last week I’ve come across 2 very easy to spot dueling zones setup by players….but before that I could never find any anywhere when i searched for some.
There isn’t an inherent need. There isn’t enough demand. It goes against the zerg meta.

At this point I’m inclined to believe the major complaint about conditions is that people are too lazy/stubborn to include an actual counter or two in their builds. I mean if anet listens to you when you complain loudly enough….seems like a good tactic to free up a utility slot here and there.

That said though, I think there needs to be changes to alot of classes that use conditions. In particular my problem with conditions is that the classes that are op with them have boonrips and ways to hardcounter ur condi counters. Games should thrive on counter play. This game though…..it has a counter to counter the counter that was already cast. I mean if I have 2 condition counters added into my build and THEY DON’T do anything…..that’s a problem. Certain classes like necro should get priority for condition utility/damage. Other though like mesmer shouldn’t…..why a mesmer can bomb and boonstrip ur counters in 1 fell swoop is beyond my understanding. Resistance doesn’t stack in anything other than duration….which is ridiculous imo. 1 strip and multiple sources of resistance are completely gone. If you have a condition clear then the mesmer just simply attacks you a 2nd time with a 2nd set of conditions…..condi clears really leave alot to be desired at times. And the fact conditions don’t have built-in counters like they used to…..confusion does a ton of damage even if you don’t move.

I mean why can’t movement or dodges impede fire damage? Why can’t standing still or moving very little impede bleed damage? Why can’t…..just whatever. I woulda made conditions more so “playstyle changers” than just raw damage over time you can’t get rid of.

Its weird we can’t really deny it. 10% damage is a a big deal for freebie trait though (imo). So diminishing it a bit in different ways might be the only way it can exist. I mean with pve…..dodging into an enemy for damage definitely isn’t gonna do bad damage but it will be diminished a bit from the other moves u can do. At the same time if you run scholar’s dodging into an enemy like that is rather ideal. Regardless the dodging forces you to move around more and use differnt moves……makes certain farm more of a chore but makes you move around more and look more interesting.

With pvp stuff though..ya I literally have to manage my endurance and often use up 1-2 dodges before I engage in order to have the 10% dmg buff last for the duration I want it to. If you are running a melee build though….I mean who cares…..just engage normally and use ur dodges as damage whenever (its good damage in pvp).

But ya like i said above I get the feeling 10% base damage increases r too good for free traits especially on warriors doing good damage on dodge rolls. Plus it doesn’t really do anything for condi warriors….im actually kinda curious why they don’t change it to +7% dmg AND +7% condi damage (especially when teh strength line seems to at least try to caitor to condi and power damage in its options).

Its rather weird….I can understand them changing it in the future. Like I said tho…base 10% increase prolly too op.

OP,

Yes it is. For some reason even with autotarget turned off, my warrior will fling herself at a unrelated wall. It never seems to happen nearly as much with my guardian or engineer despite using leaps just as much. It happens rarely, but it’s enough to make me post. And then there’s the random targeting of wildlife because whatever.

Something that might help. If you run melee warrior I find enabling auto-targetting works fine. But then I bind a “disable auto-targetting on key press” (or whatever its called, was added early this year) key in options. I bind it to ‘G’ on my keyboard. So anytime I want to channel a movement skill (or attack) for the sake of moving in a specific direction, I unselect my target, hold G, and press the skill. This also enables you to move 1 direction with gs5 and then, upon targetting something, have it complete the channel towards the enemy (note this only works 50% of the time since a few patches ago). You can also change the direction of sword 2 mid-channel using this…..sometimes (or at least u used to be able to). Both those things u should be able to do without auto-targgeting as well but whatever it shows you ya don’t anything/much going this route.

I KNOW!! Everyone tells me I’m crazy as well when I bring this up! I don’t get it!!!! I really don’t understand how this isn’t a big deal. For most communities this would be the biggest priority and issue to fix in wvsw….instead we are running around complaining about that player being bigger than the other player, and that player having more bling than that other player, and that player offending the other player’s made-up sensibilities.

Ur normal tab targeting will prioritize gates/walls over actual players….like wwat?!!?!? Same with target closest enemy….if the gate/wall is closer (and its gonna be if ur near it) it targets that. WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU MAKE GATES/WALLS PART OF THE TARGET HOTKEYS? AND WHY ON EARTH ARE THEY PRIORITIZED TARGETS!?!?!?

And thats not all! Both keys will prioritize any enemies within a 360 degree radius now! So rather than target the guy infront of you it will target the guy who isn’t in ur los first!
Maybe for target nearest enemy someone out there will think it acceptable (honestly it is never acceptable imo…if i cant see if why should i be able to target it?!??!), but for both normal tab targetting and the other to function this way..!?!! NO! Maybe if my turn 180degrees button worked more than 40% of the time (and didn’t set my attacks on cd 60% of the time…why i can’t que up turn 180degrees and my next attack is beyond my understanding), or if I could turn to fire backwards while moving instead of just while standing still it might be okay.

The only way to target something reliable is to click on it. Which is easier said than done in wvsw where you have tons of things getting infront of ur target, ur targets porting around everywhere, ur targets stealthing and breaking ur target lock, ur targets moving out of ur los and breaking target lock…..why should moving out of my immediate los break target lock and yet I can retarget an enemy that is behind me without even knowing its there!?!??

Even better the target hot keys have a shorter range than ur actual click to target! If you see some1 running towards you from the distance you can ‘eventually’ target them when they get to a certain distance with the mouse (thats another problem…the max targeting range is too short for incoming targets), if you pound on tab or ur other hotkeys though they won’t register until the enemy is a couple units away from firing range.

OH! and there’s another problem! Alot of the time the targetting hotkeys don’t even register!! You can pound on the key and it won’t recognize the enemy…..it will only recognize that stupid pve bird and the maybe the dumb wall….but not the thing standing there firing at you.

And as well half the time I don’t even know what I have targetted without planting a marker on it! The target you have…‘targetted’ is so indistinct from the millions of other parts of the red blob on ur screen.

Its like looking at a where’s waldo picture, holding a gun, firing the gun, and the bullet auto-aiming itself at waldo.
Its become the most backwards system I’ve ever seen in a game…

What? That’s not right. I see it working like it did before on different characters I run across. Its just my toon that seems to have the diminished effect. And when I zoom in on my character (lik the picture below it works just like it used to). I think you are all mistaken. This can’t be intentional when on the hero/warbdrobe screen its showing the old way but ingame its not (picture above).

THANKFULLY ITS NOT LETTING ME ATTACH THE NEW PHOTOS TO THIS POST OR MY LAST POST AND IM NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE ANOTHER POST FOR 300 SECONDS. I POSTED THE WRONG PHOTO BELOW, BUT THATS HOW IT USED TO LOOK AND THATS HOW IT STILL LOOKS IN THE HERO SCREEN.

OK great the photos are working finally. The first photo is how it originally looked a few weeks ago. The 2nd photo there is how it looks CURRENTLY if I zoom in on my character. But ONLY if I zoom in. See? its the exact same as it used to look! THis can’t be intentional. And if it is its sloppy work to say the least.

Tired of Stealth

i think its fine on just thieves. I hate how its on so many other classes though. And honestly I find it overpowered on other classes outside of thieves. It should be thief specific so it can be properly balanced and regulated. If you share an overpowered concept to other classes it makes balance next to impossible.

And yes it is ‘optional’ for other classes. But stealth is meta, because its the best defense and the best offense in this game…..since a whole class is designed to function around it. The other classes happen to be covered and powerful enough already….so when you give them this ‘option’ as well without compromising their existing strengths its really just an invitation for disaster.

How to counter zerg melee charges?

Generaly spreading up on open field will wear opponents group down, since you will not wipe and given supperior numbers eventualy prevail(reinforcements, rezes come in handy).

Pugs against a guild group(same numbers) will never result in Pugs winning, unless some pretty crapy guild is against group made of mostly guild players.

When I picture open field dispersal like that I just see a tightly packed arrowhead doing circles in a field mowing down sheep with auto-attack spam. The sheep on the outside toss rocks and stuff at the zerg but there is no avenue for focus fire, and the heal and deflect and block renewals are too strong for uncoordinated sticks and stones to do anything.

I can definitely see this working with a way-point nearby though. Where the level of reinforcement is as you described.

I was told stories of it being used effectively before adrenal health became a thing. I never truly believed those stories tbh. Honestly haven’t seen it much if at all the past couple months…..and I think we all know why. Berserker (? idk)….adrenal….healing signet (or mbe it works since its a passive idk)….ur core warrior trump cards don’t even work while ur using this so called ultimate. Then we consider the fact it was never a great skill to begin with and was very situational at best and niche build…and the long cd…..AND WE HAVE A LOSER!

Pretty simple: You asked what the purpose of sword was if it doesn’t do ‘legit’ damage … it’s a weapon people can use if they want to. It has nothing to do with performance. Obviously there are way more reasons to include weapons for classes other than “do legit damage”, because there wouldn’t be classes like warriors with a dozen weapons to choose from if that was true.

Frankly, I think what is ‘legit’ damage is debatable in the first place,a s well as the fact that damage isn’t the only factor in choosing a weapon, depending on what element of the game you play. There is no reason for Anet to jump on every weapon to improve it every time meta changes or when a player thinks they see a deficiency.

Their are reasons to use sword; I use it because it stacks significant amounts of bleeds very fast. You say Warrior bleeds suck? I beg to differ. I can apply 8 stacks of them every 7 seconds just from regular Burst, not including what I get from traits and Sword AA.

Oh, okay I get it now. I gave you the benefit of the doubt, assuming you understood what I wrote. Then since there was still a misunderstanding, I assumed I was the one in error in my interpretation. But in reality the problem was very simple. The fact is you are not understanding what “I” am writing, and you are the one having a misunderstanding.

You get 8 stacks of bleeding with Sword f1? Ok great…..in the time you are sitting there channeling this move what do you think is happening? And you do realize that 8 stacks of bleeding could total up to mere hundreds of damage? How does 8 stacks of bleeding and a few hundred in power damage, from a 4 second channel, matchup against 4 seconds of hundred blades? The point of the thread was to ask questions like that…..I literally posted other comparisons just like this above.

And in terms of ur sword AA…..I’m really curious what bleed damage values you are getting! Maybe you can post ur build or a screenshot or makeup an imaginary number and post it here to educate me? That would be thrilling.

Too bad. Maybe if siege would get a “Repair” skill instead, so you can either shoot with them OR repair, maybe that idea would get more positive votes.

It wouldn’t. People who WvW are so opposed to anything involving siege its beyond ridiculous. A lot of people saw no impact from these hammers as shown in this thread, and yet people are still complaining about the “impact” that they had.

Why do you need to repair your siege? Move on and fight. And if your tower siege get’s downed that is life, deal with it. Nobody wants to stand around and repair your walmart siege!

Ur argument is based on personal playstyle. You want to move from 1 fight to another in a fluid fashion, basic zerg behaviour. Other people want to manage the objectives and upgrades. They want to fire siege and use other static things to help the team. There isn’t a right or wrong way to play….both play styles are just as effective at ppt.

For the past 2 weeks its been doing significantly less damage in wvsw against other players.

There have been no patchnotes saying it was changed or nerfed in any way. I believe there is a glitch in the system ORRRRR that it got changed and wasn’t recorded as such.

Please look into this.

How to counter zerg melee charges?

I’m just curious what the hard counter to a zerg melee/staff charge/thrust is.

I mean traps are mainly based on condi attacks. The only other type is countered by stability. Zergs have both of these avenues of attack covered generally though. At most you might cause 1-2 seconds in delay of them trampling into you. In terms of a/c and siege placements…..zergs have access to portals to bypass them completely.

So what’s the counter in zerg vs zerg combat?

Also if I’m with some pugs in a group and a zerg about the same size does this charge/thrust. What is the best way to counter (pug vs zerg)?

I’m just curious. I mean if you are larger than the zerg that is charging its generally a case of them charging and bogged down inside ur group and systematically getting eaten (regardless of ur organization level). The zerg’s counter to this is really hit and run tactics to whittle less organized masses down. What is the counter if the zerg is the one that is heavy and huge? Running away obviously.

Reason I ask: I run into a number of scenarios where I’m commanding groups of randoms (pugs). And were up against a guild group. So were just staring at eachother across the field and I’m racking my brain on how we can best counter their charge. If I can get them to kite us we will have avenues for success. If I can avoid having them portal bomb us….we can use siege and height elevations to our advantage. If neither of those options exist and we can’t split them…..what do we do when they charge?

Not even that. I’m not talking about a ‘right to exist’ at all. It’s much simpler. Believe it or not, there are people that make choices based on theme, not performance. Sword fits a theme … the “I want to play sword” theme. It’s not hard to understand .. unless of course a person can’t imagine that people play this way.

The “I want to play sword” theme…..so what are you arguing for exactly in respect to this thread? Your right to play sword? I never called for the removal of sword. I just called for it to be redesigned or changed. That still enables your “I want to play sword” theme.

Are you saying You want to play that specific sword with those specific skills and those specific damage values? Well then we have a disagreement, and i’ll refer you back to my original response.

If I’m still off the mark (and im assuming I am) feel free to enlighten me further. I find this intriguing.

Okay, Scenario:
You are in a game that offers highly competitive 1vs1 duels (lets picture a Colosseum gladiator match). You enter a match against an enemy that plays the same class as you (a mirror match). Before you start the match you are given a choice of weapons. You both choose the same type of weapon, BUT you choose one that is exactly the same as ur opponent but has lower stats. You choose it on purpose cause it happens to have an unique skin. Both ur weapons do the exact same thing….but urs happens to look a little different.
Now the question is: Does this weapon have a right to exist? You would say yes. I would say no, because its a highly competitive 1vs1 duel mirror match. And that brings a host of problems as to why you don’t allow handicapped things in ur game. Its like going to an esports event and in the championships (or whatever) one of the people choosing this lower stat variant. I mean it gives them the ability to lose and save face since it wasn’t a fair fight. It gives them the ability to mock their opponent. It gives the ability to waste time basically. You are trying to determine who is better at something afterall.

What if you played a game and you found the giant amazing weapon of your dreams…..only to realize its the worst weapon in the game? Would that not leave you hurting? Is that fair? depends on the game right.

I mean in other games the level cap is so high that everyone is on different levels….so using something that some1 else doesn’t use, or maybe can’t use, can be fun and useful. In this game though were all at the same level, were all designed to be equals in a fight, were all designed so that we can swap our professions/characters for another with little work. Its like going into a 1vs1 against the same profession, and choosing ur own weapons and gear. But choosing level 78 gear instead of level 80 gear just so you do different amounts of damage than ur opponent…cause its different and that amuses you. Does lvl 78 gear have a right to exist in pvp? Its the same argument lol. Some of these analogies are boring i admit, the last one was legit tho.

You know those old school scales with the 2 platters? If power is one and responsibility is another, then anything that offsets one but not the other is gonna lead to a tipped scale. This is how trolls are born.

Maybe I’m doing it wrong, idk.

Can’t seem to do any legit damage going condi on it…or power. Whats the point of a weapon if it doesn’t do damage, or defense well?

Sword 3 pales in comparison to gs3. I mean when sword 3 hits something under 50% and crits…..its decent but its not by any means good. Why should sword 3 do at max the same damage as a regular gs3, but only when the target is below 50% and offer no invulnerability or movement or other bonuses like might/combofields proc? That really reflects the state of the weapon as a whole. The things it does okay….are really lackluster when you consider all the conditions and limitations put on them.

Especially when u consider the windup sword3 needs and the lack of defense you have while using it. Its really just a different way to land a burst hit….does that make it okay for it to fall in the state it is presently though? lol.
Sword 2 never did damage. And the cripple is short and outdated, it hardly matters against any opponent in the hot meta. And they definitely aren’t going to be scared of you being ontop of them if you are using a sword…..

Sword 1 never did damage….even with condi build (warrior bleeds suck). Offhand sword just sucks so badly, its limited to 1vs1 duels and even then its lackluster compared to other abilities that do the same but are aoe. Sword OH offers so much work for so little reward.

I’d say the weapon needs a redesign or major changes to how it does damage/defense. Maybe I’m wrong though, and I’m not using the right build.
Just tired of lackluster weapons. Everything should have a purpose for at least one of the modes in the game. What purpose is swords? I see OH sword called for in meta builds for dungeons as an alternative…but why would u bother if its more work and offers less payoff?

Why even have armor repairs anymore?

They took away the cost of armor repairs for all portions of the game, mainly because wvwers were having to spend loads of coins throughout a nightlt run repairing their armor after being run over by a zerg of 25+ everytime they set foot outside of citadel.

This change happened quite some time ago, way before HOT. But comparable to HOT bosses, imagine having to pay everytime you died, because broken armor decreases your effectiveness, and non broken is better. That money added up in wvw, where loot was bad and death was often and those players never complained about the change.

Well I wvsw and i complain about the change all the time. I highly doubt it was done to accommodate wvsw of all things. My guess would be it was to make the game more accessible to casual players. Draw more players in at the expense of game depth, compensate in other ways….they didn’t compensate very well though.

But since the alliances/mergers….people haven’t used them in that way. So yes it was redundant.

Honestly it is gonna take some adjusting. Alot of people are gonna get muted is all I can say…lol.

The reaction time of people though has been insane. Call for backup at fire keep? TONS of people show up….it should make pug commanding alot easier tbh.

The warrior...daily glitches/kitten

-get entangled by vines. destroy them. still stuck immobilized for a good second. Use whirlwind or something that kills them and breaks immobilize with warriors sprint…still stuck afterwards for a good second.

-try to break any immobilize with movement skills and warriors sprint…..anyones guess whether it works.

-hundred blades, some of the attacks in a successful channel not registering at all onscreen or in combat log ( like the last hit or one of the inbetween hits)

-whirlwind, going straight through enemies without hitting

-gs 5, only able to turn mid-channel upon target switch 50% of the time

-unable to cancel gs5 while in combat without weapon swap available….

-Gs burst (arcing divider), not hitting when there is an elevation change between you and the enemy.

-rifle abilities like gunflame going on cooldown/cancel immediately upon entering berserker mode and pressing to fire gunflame at the enemy infront of you

-Rifle abilities going on cooldown/cancel when you walk backwards while firing even when the target selected is always right infront of you.

-Rifle abilities in general not targetting properly or going on cancel OR TOTAL refresh when u press them without firing…like ur target suddenly moved behind you but they didn’t.

-npc randomly causing blind/weakness effects without actually putting the condition on me. WvsW camps for example the female gun guards do this to me out of the blue without any condition or field applied on me.

-HUNDRED BLADES on a static enemy after doing a combo/flurry of moves will STOP HITTING THE TARGETTED ENEMY and land in the air instead. For example: I gs5 into an enemy and down them….i then (without moving) activate hudnred blades….what happens? The first hit might proc and the rest will not since either the hundred blades and or the gs5 messes up ur orientation so ur not landing on the enemy u targetted. Or alternatively for some reason the range/radius of hundred blades just won’t register the enemy at all…and you’lll have to reposition and then try again.
I cannot exclaim how infuriating this has been and how many killls I have lost due to this.

-whirlwind going off in backwards direction when ur cursor is clearly pointing forwards…..omg

-when using whirlwind to go in the opposite direction (reverse) you only have a tiny bit of space between placing ur target indicator and clicking on ur hp/skillbars. Even if you aren’t on them with ur cursor…..if you are close enough to them the ability will mark itself as being deployed forwards rather than reverse. This generally means you need to be zoomed out as much as possible at all times incombat..in order to maximize the cursor space so you can whirlwind in reverse without turning ur camera 180 degrees.

-Reverse camera command under options is horrid. Half the time it doesn’t work. Half the time any of the commands I press don’t que while the turn is being initiated. You have to be still for a good second before using any ranged weapons….or tehy are bound to put the abilities you touch on cancel OR refresh!!

-do i need to mention the targetting in the game over the past 2 months? target closest and the regular tab targetting will target enemies behind you ever since they released that one dumb patch 2 months ago or so. Then since its so hard to tell which red thing you have targetted (in wvsw anyways) I’lll use a ranged attack only to have it instantly go on cd/cancel. even if you can tell it makes target closest enemy completing worthless as an ability. it makes you rely on hand clicking (which is ridiculously hard to do in certain modes like wvsw). makes you rely on basic tab targetting…and given teh number of things 1 enemy can spawn these days its insane.

Gs3 going straight through enemy wvsw

Seriously its going straight through enemies without hitting.
Both players and pve it happens to. Hard to reproduce it just happens every so often.

Commonly happens against camp guards. There will be no damage done to the guard, no numbers in the combat log, or any numbers onscreen, no adrenaline gain. Its like ur whirlwinding through thin air. There is no indication of lagg or anything of the sort. And many of the pve enemies getting hit don’t move hardly at all….so theres no way that a sudden visual error is to blame since the enemy is always in the target zone.

Same for players, will be no markers on screen showing any damage or lack of damage/evade/invunerable. And nothing in the combat log (dmg, absorbs, whatever). ANd the player being hit won’t be invulnerable or unhittable in any visible way.

Again none of the guards had any form of invulnerability or “Determined to survive” on them….nor did they recently spawn. THey had been sitting there and I came along and attacked and the whirlwind goes through them like thin air.

I’ve maybe had this happen 3-5 times total in the past 2 weeks

can't play dragon stands map. always full

The entire map is a meta event that starts every friggin hour or longer. There is nothing else do to other than wait for this stupid event. And You will NEVER land on a map that is anywhere near the timer cause everyone has filled them completely. So every time I waypoint to this map I have to wait 45-60 minutes for the event to start. If I waypoint out during that timeframe to do something else then come back…..the map I was in gets filled and im back to waiting 45-60 minutes.

I see squad postings in the lfg….i always join then and spend 10 minutes trying to get in and it never happens. I even ask them inchat if its full or not and noone ever answers. Noone ever removes the listing if the map is full either. I guess cause the map is always full and its just implied. Rude nontheless.

So I would like to play on this map someday plz anet. So if you could come up with a better system that allows me to wait maybe 10-15 minutes max….illl come back and wait and play the ‘defining’ map of the seemingly wasteful expansion.

Like my god how do you design the meta servers? You design them to open up when 1 map gets full and each meta server that spawns starts fresh?!!!!?? Don’t you seee how stupid and problematic that is with dragon’s stand? You need people to do the event! So even if you do wait in a map theres always the chance that the other ones are the full ones and urs is the empty one even if the event is going on in urs.

Everyone will bottleneck into the maps that have the event going. Once they are full new maps starting at 1 hr will appear and people will get dumped into them waiting to try to join into the event map. Then the maps with the event will end and people will jump into the dumping map of the last event since its the closest. Then probably a couple of other maps will open up. People won’t want to wait tho so they will bottlneck into the one map…others will just leave. Creating a scenario where there are very few maps with the event near/ongoing. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out how stupid such a system is.

back in gw2 on cursed shore many years ago you scattered the k-trains for screwing up the pve experience of other players. Why can’t you scatter the farm of this map so we can enjoy play the event for enjoyment like were supposed to?!??!?!
I just want to play….I can’t imagine how you would advertise HoT honestly:
“play in 4 new maps. the 3rd map though we designed so you can’t play unless you wait an hour and luck out on finding the map with population and hopefully ur map isn’t closed down due to lack of population while you wait! kitten de kitten ya’ll!”

Food duration should be stacking

Food and nourishment, to me, is lackluster and cheesy.
Frankly, I’d rather them remove food and nourishment and balance it accordingly. Seriously, was the last time you did raids or wvw without food or nourishment? On top of that, the game is beyond easy already, food just further negates any diffucult content.

That literally made no sense….

You have 0 reason to not like the OP’s idea. Ur problems are with food itself. Here someone is offering a way to improve upon food without any further negative impact. And you are posting about how food should be removed from the game. I suggest making ur own Opening rather than piggybacking, since it subtracts from discussion of the topic at hand.
Besides food is one, if the only, stats in the game you can mix and match on the fly. Ur builds rely on static gear choices that can’t be changed without considerable investment. I mean food should be celebrated for raising the customization level of all builds. But ur complaints are with how easy the game is and the fact that more stat sources are making it worse. That’s a design choice anet made. If someone needs help with content….buying a boost of some kind to get through the content is more than fair. I mean the best option here for some1 like you is to actually increase the effectiveness of foood (and decrease is availability)…..and increase the difficulty of game content. That way people who need it can opt for food at times they get stuck. While you and the others can have ur game difficulty.

Shrine Buffs Problem

‘Ur commanders’ don’t use zero fall damage or fire portal cause they have no idea how to play the map. That’s not the game’s fault.

IMpossible to rely on? Well it takes real effort to get them all inplace at the same time. The reward for doing so is rather lackluster tbh but if it was any better ‘some’ people would complain nonstop for months to have them removed.

If ur smart you are always directing ur squad to the nearest shrine you pass by. It gives 140% base movement speed to all ur members. WHich is a fairly significant edge for combat. Whether or not ur server puts in the effort to retain the shrines is another story. Our pairing has no problem getting all 3 shrines active. Its gonna differ depending on ur server obviously. SHould anet balance it based on server use and commander competency? The answer is no they should not. Its gonna fall on you and others in ur server to teach people how to use them.

You ever think that being ‘meta’ in wvsw really isn’t all that? I mean meta for wvsw is just a set of guidelines of how to run around the map acting like a glorified gundam/transformer/robot/insertreferencehere. Is that really all its played out to be?
In wvsw being meta doesn’t mean being useful and it definitely doesn’t mean being awesome. Its just 1 playstyle among many viable alternatives.

Maybe just sit out the meta with ur druid instead. Change how you play and/or the role you play. Work on forming ur own squad and getting them to play to druid strengths….you could make a zerg full of people playing this way and find no difference in ur success rates compared to a meta zerg. The meta is just teaching you how to play like a clog in a robot. Its based on theory crafting for defeating a force of equal size. But honestly what does that have to do with winning in wvsw? Maybe druids weren’t meant to be clogs….I personally think its okay that they aren’t clogs.

Would put on-kill stacks of some kind on ur gs instead of sigil of force (that literally does nothing for ur build) since you’ll be running in a zerg and be, presumably, running people down all the time, or put another ‘on weapon swap’ sigil.

Suggestions - improving commanding (w/o voip)

Brief suggestions on how to improve the ingame features, mainly those that bridge the gap between the voip and non-voip experience.

Voip gives you more control over a squad and the people u command no doubt. Its a third party system though, not supported by the game itself. Its important we have a system ingame that brings the ability to play as close as possible to the voip experience. Many great features have been rolled out to address this. Not limited to:
-the target marker
-our wonderful 8 markers
-our wonderful 8 target markers
-our 4 map command markers
-squad messages
-squad broadcasts

Things that weren’t done well though:
-map pings
-shift+T target markers
-distinguishing between party and squad members
-drawing on the map with the line tool

Things needed:
-Even More distinguishable markers tbh
-easier ways to get players in the squad
-ways to bring the party ui into a squad
-More ways to bring little bits of information to the attention of the squad
-ability to mark a route for moving the squad from 1 point to the other. (would love an actual line system ingame indicating to squad members how u want them to traverse certain territories.)

I don’t really feel like giving specific ideas. I could but I feel general broad statements are the most useful to both my purposes and the purposes of any developers looking at this. I mean to get people to do something, the best method is to give them a say in how its done.

If anet is going to turn around and do something with it, there gonna be problems where everyone saves every trophy they get. Trophies don’t DO anything…..apparently people are just hoping anet sees them really buying into them and gives them something out of pity. srsly tho ur telling me i could have sold it for over 255g!?!????!?! wtfff? People are literally placing value on something that has no value. This is the guild wars version of buying overpriced art pieces from a museum for a social benefit.

It would have been helpful to actually quote what you heard. It’s roughly Nellie Hughes (ANet dev) saying there already is a known purpose for the strange rock but she wasn’t going to spoil it for others.

Repair hammers… does anyone use them? I actually bought a couple and forgot I had them. Frankly I don’t think they’re needed in WvW at all… kind of a waste of pocket change imo.

if you dont use them or notice their use you should abstain from voting. people who use them in earnest should be the ones voting yes or no.

i hate to think some1 tries to deny features based on whether or not they personally use them. thats like me denying golemns from the game:

voted yes. but on the basis that they are a step forward toward spicing up and adding meaningful features to the mode. they fall short though since there is too much supply tossed around ingame. they rly need to limit the amount and or the access to supply.

But thats a separate issue…repair hammers themselves are a worthy addition.
I liked the idea of taking a keep with golemn rushes and healing the golemns for reuse if the enemy leaves the supply behind for you to use. i mean people just throw money at the game to make golemns when they need them. now you have the ability to look after them like pets if some1 wants to put the time in. thats the key…u need to put the time in to take care of them.

there were issues with zergs just wrecking the entire map with this method….but thats due to population imbalances, which is its own issue anet refuses to address.

I was using Frenzy as a joke because your build is almost totally offensive.
….
I didn’t come here to upset you. But I can point out the pros and cons of this build from my prospective.

  • Extremely low armor without any sustain, blocks or invulnerability
    NO Thick Skin
    NO Adrenal Health
    NO Defy Pain
    NO Spiked Armor
    NO Rousing Resilience
  • Very little condition mitigation (2 skills provide resistance but no clears)
    NO Cleansing Ire
    NO Brawler’s Recovery
    NO Savage Instinct

Well I’m no social psychologist but you apparently came here to upset yourself.
Thanks for the lovely Pro and cons list though. A bit reaching in some sections but overall good reflection of the build.
