I sold mine for 10g. Trophies by default don’t do anything….its just a glitch most likely. If anet is going to turn around and do something with it, there gonna be problems where everyone saves every trophy they get. Trophies don’t DO anything…..apparently people are just hoping anet sees them really buying into them and gives them something out of pity. srsly tho ur telling me i could have sold it for over 255g!?!????!?! wtfff? People are literally placing value on something that has no value. This is the guild wars version of buying overpriced art pieces from a museum for a social benefit.

lvl 80 food/utiliity on the provisioner

15 badges for a food that costs over 50s is gonna mess with the economy. Just saying.

Idk, I see this stepping on the level 80 food and utility market too much. However, I would be down with being able to purchase any recipe in the game with badges.

There is no reason for WvW players to make gold transfers to PvE farmers. Make the provisioner sold consumables work in WvW only. Problem solved.

Ya I’m inclined to support this. The fact they have been making so much money off us to date though, means they get a say in this. Its unfortunate but thats how it works lol. Its like some1 building a factory on land that was never theirs to begin with. If its been operating for 25 years you can’t just order it shut down immediately. They have a claim to the land from occupation and productive usage of it.

Why would you assume people are upset over this? I’m upset over not getting 25 supply 80% of the time but that’s a different issue.

Noone is upset at having 40 supply. Its cruel that you would try to make this conversation, and every other conversation, about something its not.
Can’t we have a normal conversation about something interesting in wvsw without people resorting to kitten? The answer is Yes we can, lets keep doing so.

4k power WvsW gunflame build

Well i’ve been having so much success from it that my brain kinda forgot how unappealing it looks. It took alot of effort to learn as well since I used to use discipline instead of strength. Meaning: ALOT less adrenaline in my build, and NO FAST HANDS! So yeah I totally agree it was dumb to worry about too many people copying and anet nerfing it.

Well… it’s not completely defenseless. OP is using Berserker Stance for one of his/her utility skills. So it’s only 99% defenseless. Lol. Why not get rid of Berserker Stance and equip Frenzy instead. If you’re going to go full glass, why stop at 99%.

Usage: Commanding (really), roaming, solo, small group fights

The ONLY commander that would run this build is one that has a macro setup to spam “Keep fighting! I’ll run back from spawn” in team chat.

If you’re cautious and fighting deep in the backline of a boon sharing zerg, this might work.

It has 0 defense if you don’t have berserker stance or endure pain in the build. I will die ALOT, compared to HARDLY EVER, without using that slot for one of the 2.

Since were all warriors, we all know how far 1 invulnerability will take us in our fights.
And if you are using Frenzy with berserker traited you have no idea what you are doing.

I’m almost always one of the last to die when commanding. I won’t command in open field in 30vs30+, anywhere up to 20vs20 is fine though. Obviously I don’t lead charges straight into the heart of a zerg unless the odds are in our favour. We are kite heavy and its very effective when you use the terrain to ur advantage. Generally its a case of ranging the blob, downing the weak section, and bombing and charging them when they are rezing. Everything is a numbers game in wvsw. Getting a good opening though can dramatically balance the odds. How you approach this game is how you play it. Some who go tanky will always just rush into the enemy regardless of how big and fight till they die and blame the population imbalances if they lose….they always say they fight perfectly and its cause theres too many that they lose. If ur jumping straight into an enemy larger than you and allowing urself to get surrounded on all 4 sides, by a larger force, its ur own fault imo. I would say lets not charge to our deaths and instead pickoff sections of the zerg bit by bit. But you know….people have different opinions. Some might consider kiting or waiting for the right moment to be boring even if it means winning. Most play the meta and rage when they can’t win after doing everything according to the book. Its really just a question of how you want to play and how comfortable you are with your class. Me? I don’t like dying or leading people to death, I like to be able to do everything I want from others myself, I’m very comfortable with my class, and i like killing things quickly so there’s time for actual ppt.

There is alot more emphasis on skill compared to going bunker warriors (which are dumb ways to fight imho, but everyone gets an opinion). You lead by example with a build like this….not by running through a lava pit and boasting about how your the only one who didn’t die. I don’t freeload off my squad. I get that you may assume that I’m dying all the time and freeloading rez’s, but its the exact opposite. People who go full tank are the ones freeloading off of others, and theres nothing wrong with that….it just lowers the skill cap and slows down gameplay a ton.

On September 9th we added Skirmishes to the game. Now that everyone has had a chance to play them, what are your thoughts on Skirmishes? If there is anything, what would you like to see changed/added?

camps shouldn’t count towards ppt. 90% of the time they can’t be defended without incurring losses to ur own ppt. They just flip back and forth a million times. couple their ppt with the yak ppt and its complete bulloney the numbers you can get off these compared to towers.
I guess the exception might be if you post a dumb tank ele at the majority of the reachable camps (so 3 usually) then have them stall while a sufficient dispatch can be set out to defend the camp from whatever is hitting it. That way you literally have 1 player gaining 3 ppt per 5 minutes and preventing many yaks from dying too….and discouraging roamers from getting sentries as well (another dumb source of ppt).

Camps atm though are the same as sentries….they flip back and forth like nothing and they offer no reason for it other than yaks upgrading objectives or some supply for any players that need it. Its not a good system, those who play wvsw enough know this. cant say im explaining it properly but its not a good system the vets know.

They should exist for giving supply to the faction that owns them, nothing more and nothing less. Roamers can hunt yaks all they want for ppt i don’t care….but camps themselves are just stupid busywork. They should not affect ppt.

You should consider removing RI from camps as well after you remove them from ppt.

No. You would need to nerf its ability to resurrect if you did this. We already have enough kitten resurrection abilities in the game lets not be a part of the problem.

I didn’t say base power obviously haha. Take into account objective aura’s, might stacks, and other extra buffs (change food to power and utility to writs giving an extra 100 power) and you are easily above 4k power. Heck if I translate 10% bonus damage to power (from seaweed) you get +300 power right there.

Day rifle: Predator skin
Night Rifle: ascalonian skin with Sigil of night instead of sigil of force
Gs skin: Volcanus (any skin with swing effects will work to ur advantage)

Utility swaps: Berserker stance should be swapped with endure pain, and vice-versa, based on the ‘meta’ and the number of condi vs power users you are facing. Endure pain is almost always better for zerg fights obviously.

Other Alterations: Take asparagus and sage salad (5 badges of honour) instead of seaweed. Carrot souffle is another option if you are kill heavy and want more damage to ur killshot and gs (note that ur gunflame and other rifle abilities will be less damage). Take writ of power or furious sharpening stone instead of superior sharpening stone if ur rich. Actually really any utility that gives you 100 power + something else is gonna be better than superior sharpening stones (just the cost of anything else is too high imo).

Technique: Proc all ur sigils when you start wvsw. Auto-use ur signet of healing (while gs is equipped) so you maintain most of ur +500 precision stacks. Keep enemy at range at all times. Right before engaging, decide whether to increase ur damage by using ur healing signet, signet of range, dodging to activate “stick and move”. Generally open with rifle 4 or 2 depending on the enemy (if you need to get incombat still). Initiate berserker mode immediately with signet of fury, then gunflame followed up by rifle 3. Once the enemy is downed approach it. Dodge overtop of their body to proc reckless dodge. In the middle of the dodge switch to Gs to proc sigil of hydromacy. Whirlwind backwards over the body or proc another dodge first. Arcing slice as you walk away from the body, then stow your weapon immediately for dramatic effect.

Usage: Commanding (really), roaming, solo, small group fights

Primary Intent: Backline, ranged sniping, kiting

Weaknesses: Beware of druids with stone skin signets (you should actually learn to recognize if they have it or not. Zerkers are very heavy cc and you will likely die to them if you don’t evade their many stuns (including their taunt). Zerkers are easy to kite though…..them having 2 endure pains in conjunction with everything else can make the fights very long though and very kite heavy. Chrono is a guessing game. Having berserker stance against a condi chron is a win. Having endure pain vs a zerker chrono is a win. If you don’t have the right one you might wanna run and swap it in. Daredevils and thiefs that don’t 1-hit ko you are easy. Hint: ‘stand still’ and let ur rifle killshot/gunflame 360 degrees rotation do the work.

Was kinda worried about people copying this build. But then I thought to myself: “who in their right mind is gonna learn to play warrior without fast hands? Besides they will probably have 1 look at it and think its stupid (I’m cool with that).”

Have you heard of this, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”?

If people stop bringing things up, it will always be ignored. That is to say, if the community itself find balancing not necessary, why should anet cares if community don’t give a single kitten either? At the end of the day, it all depends how badly the community wants it and if community says balancing is not important, I do expect people to stop complaining about bad match up.

Well obviously you need to change HOW you ‘stop doing nothing’, cause its been 4 years now with multiple periods of complaining and the priorities have not changed.

You are absolutely right tho, if you whine enough something will happen. You are not whining enough though since the issue is too divisive atm due to the server pairings and their constant changings. I mean you should take a note from the desert bl complainers. THey posted everywhere…..and complained every single opportunity they had. ANd what did we learn from that whole experience? That the actual numbers of people who wanted desert bl gone were nowhere near a majority ruling (look no farther than the votes anet did). You are free to disagreee but I present actual evidence (as weak as it may be) and everyone who disagrees presents an opinion. Opinions alone do not represent just cause.

the OP doesnt seem to realize that anet cares more about its revenue streams and ‘play where and how u want’gameplay than it does actually balancing and creating fairness in the mode.

until the priorities change…ur arguments are wasted. and trust me, arguments and solutions are already well known and easy to implement…..but they dont want to.

Berserker+Valkyrie - Can this be a thing plz?

I didn’t even know this existed till I got my new skull backpiece from ember bay. And one of the stats is Berserker+valkyrie.

My first thoughts were: “Wow here’s a way I can deviate from the zerker only gear without missing out on much if any at all damage (is if ur running a warrior then ur losing a bit since blood reckoning converts precision to ferocity….which is dumb)”

I quickly realized why I didn’t know this existed….its on trinkets only. Why….can’t this be a thing for weapons and armour too?

I honestly don’t understand why you add more trinket stat types or mixed up trinket stats from their armour/weapon variant……but then don’t add those to weapons/armour as well. I mean we have stats that are in everything……and stats that are in one or the other and it makes no sense to me.
Is anet planning to slooooooowly introduce all stat types to all 3 types of gear? (armour/weapons/trinkets)? Are they doing it so painfully slow cause they can’t come up with any other reason to get us to grind for new gear? Why can’t they just create more and more geartypes for pve……ferocity is already an awkward stat given how its always tacked on or missing completely, its an easy way to create new gear. Zerker players really only have 1 type of gear to use…..2 if they are playing certain classes where assassin and its precision buff is more relevant.

@ OP, by that logic we should have punishment for bad commanders as well.

-Mutiny (demote from squad or kick from squad)
-Lose tag privileges for x hours
-Feed the meat (low wvsw participation in squad after xx many minutes commanding in squad becomes grounds for dismissal)

Today there were a number of squads telling people to join them. Then when they joined…..yelling at them to act like mannequins and let some moronic commander pull all their strings.

Heck I am dragging and dropping, but I can not get it to move. My setup is like Chrysotile and no matter how many times I try to swap the chat box and party box it ain’t moving. Driving me insane at the moment.

try to pull from the top of the chat box (close to the right corner) and drag it up to the top of screen. Squad stuff now at top of screen……do ur options and what not, then drag chat box back up. if its locked still try in options, something there might be locking it (although i doubt it). More likely ur mouse or someehting ingame causing the problem.

Won’t rule out its a glitch though….I mean I get my minimap screwed up when im commanding so i can’t pan it and instead it beacons everywhere which is infuriating.

Want to start own wvsw guild

Hi I’ve been kinda wanting to start my own guild for the purposes of wvsw.

I have a guild i made already for farming with (using the daily message).

What I would want is the objective aura upgrades and the ability to claim objectives in wvsw. There isn’t really anything else I need for the guild. I kinda wanna do this myself with my own funds so its my own guild for the most part really.

I wanted to know a list of the steps I would need to fulfill to get this. And the costs if they are known. If its supplies and mats that are needed….an estimate would be nice or just mention that there is that so i can look it up myself (at whatever stage it is).

Minimum requirement: claiming camps and +5 supply objective aura 1
Maximum requirement: claiming all objectives and ALL objective aura (1-8 or whatever)

Ya I agree. Its always been underwhelming seeming for a legendary. I really just like it for the orange shots which hide my gunflame.

The footsteps r underwhelming.
The sound is pretty….meh if not bad as well haha (noone really likes that sound).
the orange glow is hardly visible at all
the fire shooting out upon drawing is also very very underwhelming cause its so small
the rifle itself is relatively small
rifles themselves are very limited since only 2 classes use….and both have meh uses for it.

its a good legendary design but the effects are just so hidden they are practically invisible. The orange shots are really the selling point of the whole weapon.

What if Objectives Downgraded Over Time?

It would be annoying for k-trainers but hellish for anyone actually looking to defend. I don’t want to have my walls downgrading for no reason other than time.

I think what would ultimately happen is an expanded schedule of k-training to hit things when they’re paper.

Let’s think about that though. If there is an expanded schedule to k-train when something is paper….that would imply there is waiting. Waiting while an objective is active is giving points to your enemy, which is the objective of the game. I won’t deny that it might very well be a case of a ktrain group planning and hitting whatever bl has held on for the longest and is all paper…..and invading and ktraining that bl. Isn’t that the idea of the game though? And when ur target is based on paper level and not score level or population…..doesn’t that change up the meta a bit? As it is, you always attack the third place server if you want easy towers and keeps. With this system it would make the strongest server look the most tempting of targets most of the time.

I mean we need to assume that all servers are operating with the same resources. And by that I mean, we need to assume they all have ktrain groups… zergs …. roamers … scouts …. defenders….everything!

And doesn’t that keep each bl active and on their feet? And what about the aftereffects of that ktraining of a bl….wouldn’t that create exciting scenario’s? (say they take half of the bl……then half of it is theirs and fortified). Or they blitz the winning team’s bl…and take it alll!!! and the winning team has to come back and waste time and resources retaking everything since its T3. I mean that would teach even the winning team to not blob up so much…..and to spread their resources more evenly to each of the borderlands.

Another way to reframe this idea is with the waypoints. Like I said i tried to edit it 5 times, each time i put in a section about waypoints. THe idea being: do we let keeps have a waypoint immediately upon being capped. Or do we get rid of them or change them or make them build them in a differnt way. I mean here’s another option: make the waypoints appear on T1 keeps and make them permanently or semi-permanently open. When I say semi-permanently perhaps there could be a way to destroy the waypoint once on the lord or contest it. Anyways, that way you always have a way to get people into a paper keep thats being hit. So communication is really the walls of the keeps at that stage.

After I wrote the Op I started thinking of all the negatives a few hours later and how it wouldn’t work. Upon further reflection though….all these negatives are similar to the ones we have with the current system. But this new system seeks to address them through the players themselves, by reintroducing the players to different roles and tactics that have been long lost in wvsw.

And like I may have mentioned , i might not have in this version, there could be a way for defenders to slow the downgrade or even reverse it at times. As well it was my hope that opening the new roles would give defenders more gameplay they would enjoy. FOr pure defenders who won’t budge regardless of what is offered…….yes they should NOT vote for anything in this OP. But I could also say pure blobbers should NOT vote for anything that changes the current wvsw.

I think everyone needs to be open to moving out of their comfort zone a bit for any positive change to happen in wvsw. I mean if I have to deal with a bit of somewhat enjoyable-medicore blob gameplay along with my pretty enjoyable-enjoyable small group gameplay….so be it.

TL:DR; theres so much text to type in defense of the downgrade idea. For every point there is a counter point. And its hopeful and intuitive since its the opposite of what alot of people think is the wrong way (the currrent wvsw). True defenders are gonna have to expand their horizons a bit and take the new exciting routes being offered to them in terms of new roles. I’d bet that most of them would be happy down the road after some time has passed, some might be very unhappy though i will not deny.

i have my chat box top left corner. squad stuff bottom left. honestly id reccommend this setup to everyone….after i changed it i havent gone back its much easier not looking down with ur eyes.

the new ui menu u bring up as a commander was not formatted properly and its cutoff below the screen…so i cant access all the options.

plz fix soooooooon. prop the menue up more or add a scroll function to it so i can access the cutoff bit

I mean just imagine if upon capture an upgrade was given tier 3 status. Then over time it degraded back to tier 1 status.

How would this change the gameplay and the game?

-I mean for starters it would change the yak mechanics completely. Maybe yaks going to the upgrade now slow the rate of decay on the objective. Or maybe yaks don’t need to exist for anything other than objective supply.

-Maybe we could get rid of RI on EVERY objective even camps. This would allow people to flip camps for usage of their supply…which makes sense to me. And would give people new ways to defend objectives and fight inside objectives…..rather than always jumping out and/or waiting 5+ minutes every time. And maybe we could get rid of ppt on camps….which also makes sense to me.

-gameplay. Taking an objective is now a BIG DEAL. Its not gonna flip back like nothing. People are gonna be inclined to defend it. Ktraining is gonna die! I mean people are gonna wanna defend. And this goes vice versa too right? the outer towers in ebg are always paper for k-training…..whats gonna happen to them now? Like I said, ktraining is GONNA DIE! The smart commanders who ktrain are gonna have to organize their groups better and select less linear paths for their farm. Zergs are gonna have to learn not to be mindless, if not they are gonna have to take T3 objectives from people who are gonna wanna defend them. TL:DR: Once something that is paper is taken…..its not gonna be paper again for a very very long time is what I’m saying….this will kill ktraining one way or the other.

-i think this is a really good point to make: it would give the losing team a “way back into the game”. I mean if you are on the losing team, just getting rekt on ebg all the time….you own absolutely nothing lets say. Over time…..the things of yours that got captured are now tier 1 paper again. Infact the entire enemy bl could be paper! Just ripe for the picking! Even if you are outnumbered 24/7 you now have a chance to “spread out” and attack paper towers and instantly have a base you can defend (tier 3 fortified!). I honestly think this is ingenious from a gameplay perspective. Its solves every problem with ktraining and server population imbalances….and it fits with the skirmish system so well. Couple this with the new skirmish gameplay….this will be awesome! A bl who dominates completely for a day can be fought by the losing bl’s with such a system. It encourages people not to ‘give up’ on the kind of one-sided matches we’ve seen to date. It would really encourage a back and forth dialogue between all servers regardless of their population/power/whatever. I mean most people don’t play for the final score and this is gonna create battles and scenarios that they can jump into on the fly at any time during the week…..and where they can actually shape the bl! I mean in the extreme scenarios we see today: one bl dominates…..all of ebg is fortified and taken over by the enemy……what can the loser do but wait till the week is over? But now everything can change with this one little rework!

You can simply put all your manpower into the other 3 borderlands to maintain ur ppt……then once some time passes in ebg everything is paper again for you to retake easily. People complain that being outnumbered on ebg means ur bl is screwed the entire week. Well now you have the option of abandoning ebg and redistributing ur forces to the other bl….creating a viable way to counter GIANT borderlands. Its really dumb to try and fight something 10x ur size in ebg…..people who do it feel like the mode has betrayed them and get upset. Well now…what happens? You can shrug it off and be like “these guys are dumb, they sent too many to ebg, now we can go to this bl and do some damage and come back later to ebg and recap it all in paper form for great ktrain and ppt and other stuff”

What do you all think of this? I don’t see any downsides to the downgrade concept. I know the homeland defense players will be upset they can’t oversee a fully fortified borderland, but I also know most of them will be more happy overall because it opens up the other roles of the game to them and their smaller groups. Small guild groups are gonna have a very real role in a borderland’s success if this change is adopted, no doubt in my mind (cause of the points listed above)

I really hope someone from Anet reads this and ‘gets it’. There are definitely many little things to work out as I had listed in the various points. Overall the concept is simple and easy to implement. I totally agree that the basic concept sounds horrible at first, but it really does accomplish everything anet has told us they want the mode to do/be…..AND it will alleviate many many concerns/frustrations the playerbase has had.

sure, anything is better than what we have currently….i tried aa in pve for the helk of it and everything was dying so slow i opted back for same old gs. it was also kinda boring usin the current aa….gs was more interesting after a while and i use gs 23/7.

Never been able to play the map since its always full when I try to join one where the event isn’t 60 minutes away.

Am I expected to wait 30 minutes on a new map to play the friggin map?

AN ENTIRE MAP AND I HAVE TO WAIT 30 MINUTES JUST TO PLAY IN IT? dumbest map ever imo…can’t do anything without the event and you can’t play the event if you don’t wait cause its always COMPLETELY FULLLLLLLLL 24/7 as soon as the even is near.

HoT was 3 maps as far as im concerned….idk wtf dragon stand was meant to be but its a failure. Its like making me wait 30 minutes to play a fractal……or making me wait 30 minutes to join ANY wvsw map……or making me wait 30 minutes to join EoTM….or making me wait 30 minutes…..like wtf if you have to wait 30 minutes to play solo pve content something is really really wrong.

Honestly the only game I can think of with truly awesome independent friendly ai was x-wing alliance. I mean these guys would finish entire missions while my joystick went crazy and i went off flying around getting lost…..it really made you feel like you were just 1 person amongst a ‘team’. You arent the only hero that does miracles every mission….you are just a normal person with normal powers. It was awesome, I loved it. So refreshing compared to the current “YOU HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING AND NOBODY CAN DO ANY OF IT FOR YOU” single player experiences.

Srsly tho rytlock just kept dying over and over in alot of the HoT story content…..worthless npc. I mean at least logan and other npc would buff you back in the day….rytlock and the others make me laugh. I mean why are they even there if I’m doing all the world….makes the story seem dumb and the characters unworthy. Didn’t help that even in the cutscenes the npc are shown as about as worthless as they are ingame…yet the dialogue and everything indicates that they are actually insanely strong (as strong as you or more). Its dumb.

The NPC’s are the same as they have been in every story instance since the game launched. Why now, four years later, are some people complaining about them?

Cause its been stupid for 4 years and enough is enough were tired of dealing with it.

well the gamemode is dying because of imper and others holding those viewpoints. its stuck when u cant add anything of value. it hurts more when u take content out.

u cant expect anything to change or get better when u hold the mode to a Run and gun jump in jump out freeforall. we literally have 6 borderlands divided between 2 modes….and for some reason they all have to play the same way, which is a really dumb design at this point. but people exist who dont want to learn new things or change the easy-in easy-out mechanics we have now, so were all crewed. the mode is only killing itself with this lack of identity and catoring to 2 opposing groups of players. and there is no energy to redesign at this point….so were all stuck.

-wargamers have to find new ways to play to keep it interesting.
-casuals have to deal with being unable to shape or really matter in the mode, they are joining zergs and relishing in whatever victories are given to them, or running around solo learning and having fun……once they learn enough tho they turn into wargamers. and once wargamers get bored they leave. new players join in to keep this cycle afloat..but i mean why are people leaving? its cause concerns like the op are not being acted on to retain the interest of wargamers.

i mean its fun to plan a week with ur servers and guilds and coordinate contributions and stuff…..its like having a giant weeklong raid. wargamers plan, guilds commit to times, casuals jump in and give what they can……everyone is happy. wargamers have no reason to do this anymore now since there is no raid reward at the end of it….so the overall sense of community and things to do is low.

the solutions are easy to see and implement but the refusal to adjust things is keeping the ship sinking

i prefer hero mode as well. zerg fights are boring to me…..and roaming around zerg fights is boring to me. i want to feel important…i want my killls and the contribution i put forward to matter. they dont when its so zergy thus i dont play in primetime cause it bores me. why even be there if nothing u do has an impact..lol. i mean its like playing one of the generic creeps in a moba game rather than an actual hero unit. the only ones who matter are the commanders and the guild names…..nothing else has any value.

ideally i want fights of mbe up to 15vs15. and to have people defending to some extent when im not there to do it. i would like a lower pop tier as well.

i have my chat box top left corner. squad stuff bottom left. honestly id reccommend this setup to everyone….after i changed it i havent gone back its much easier not looking down with ur eyes.

the new ui menu u bring up as a commander was not formatted properly and its cutoff below the screen…so i cant access all the options.

plz fix soooooooon. prop the menue up more or add a scroll function to it so i can access the cutoff bit

Ported to bay on home bl (tier 3), went to get my extra 5 supply…..could not get any (was capped at 20). The guild claim had 5 + 5 from presence = 25 supply…..yet no it doesn’t.

We lost half of ebg and soon after our keep when this blockout started happening…. scoring didn’t start back up tilll after the blockout ended but when it did we owned nothing. Loss of points and T3 objectives…..

Hey everyone,

We adjusted Yak’s Bend rating by +150 so they would move out of tier 3.

Do you guys ever reflect on how you tend to only reward those who complain loudly with selfish requests?

I mean not to downplay yb’s position or anything…but they were asking for 1 server to get preferential fidgeting on the almighty untouchable glicko. I mean…that is HUGE that you granted this server request when there are countless others asking for the same thing. You didn’t even give a reason why yb out of all the servers was granted this…its like all the other grants you give off these forums.

You might consider giving a more inclusive reason for granting the request so people don’t feel you are rewarding the loudest most selfish requests….might help try to delude people into thinking you grant community requests on an argument basis rather than….I can only say selfish and loud so many times. Would that not be wise?

Like here is just an idea for a better response off the top of my head:

“Upon reviewing community arguments, and crosschecking with our own data, we have decided to move YB up 150 points out of tier 3 in order to to provide better matchups for the rest of the servers.”

Just a thought.

You really need to read the things you quote. Its about who and what you listen too….nobody else had a problem understanding that.

Here I’ll give you an example: a game has 100 players, there are many problems with the game and the players are divided into 10 servers. Each of the servers complain on the forums and to community support outlets to get the creators to fix their individual problems. These individual problems however are not granted because their solutions negatively affect the other 9 servers.
One day a developer looks at a posting 1 server posted and decided to fix their problems at the expense of that other 9 servers. Now they have made 10 people happy, but 90 people are now negatively affected.

The game listened to the players as you stated. ANd we should all be happy about that as you stated. So lets be happy.

I’ll give you an easier example: lets say 10% of the players wanted desert bl as all 3 borderlands, 90% wanted alpine. The 10% posted the loudest and most selfish requests, and the developer granted their request.
Now according to your argument: They listened to the people and we should all be happy. So lets be happy.

TL:DR: So ya I got on here and complained that anet listened to “some” players at the expense of “others”. Can ya follow that reasoning? I can dumb it down even more if need be.

If they really cared about making the game balanced for all servers they would delete the glicko and repick the tiers every week or so to find the most balanced tiers possible. That way winning, and having won does not matter anymore, and the future of all servers can be a part of the same vision….rather than half of them having to be dragged through the mudd all the time. But no, they keep the glicko and one day they come along and say “hey why is Yb one of the servers being dragged through the mudd with these plebs? Come here buddy….lets get u cleaned up so you can start riding on the ponies with the cool servers.”. And you expect everyone, in the mudd or on the other ponies, to stop start CHEEERING ecstatically that their peer has been freed from pleb status….meanwhile everyone has to deal with more mudd and more horse skritt because of it.

I mean anything 50s or higher per 30 mins for food+utility is not viable imo. GIVEN that they are all level 80 across the board…..and should have similar LEVELS of ability. If we were in a different game where you have amazing food gold gated for special occasions, or that you might never be able to afford to use, sure thats great but this game isn’t setup like that.

Why is the game designed to gate so many of the different kinds of buffs behind paywalls? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to use each and every buff type for 50s or less? It really kills ur build diversity, if ur glass cannon the 200 or 160+ whatever when above 90% hp is great…..but because of cost ur never gonna use it unless u have utility primers to burn.

And utility/food primers are over 1 gold per half hour EACH. Making them not at all viable for anything other than special occasion…..unless u want to sink ur gold.

Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree since I mainly use my stuff for wvsw…..and ur mostly pve players, but I’m sure you’ve shared these sentiments many times as well?
If there is no way for me to break-even the gold cost from the loot of my 30 minute playsession…….the food can’t be justified (for anything other than completion runs)!

Looking through the food types and being like “Oh I didn’t know this stat existed that would be perfect for my build…..oh I can’t afford that haha better go with the other lvl 80 food that is less useful.”

Especially the account bound food…..these should not all cost such an insane amount!

The 10% damage reduction ones….yes those should cost an arm and a leg cause why anyone would think that such a stat is balanced is beyond my understanding. Everything else though……why u killing build diversity anet? And adding more types of stats to food would be nice too….everytime you DO that though you jack the price range of them to the classic 50s or higher pricetag.

@Cerby, the Assassin’s gear for crits is for more might through Forceful Greatsword, the Might on Crit trait, not just for more crits.

i mean theres a reason why the meta builds with forceful gs…..dumplings…..and whatever else that all rely on crits (lightning, fire. bursts) keep to 50-60% crit rate (w/o fury). Payoff is better. I mean i run basically 100% crit rate and i still use all zerker gear and runes…its perty sweet to always crit so i can seee the allure of assassins just i still feel in support of full zerk…if in doubt use maintenance oil with ur zerk gear

You Really really reallly should not have opened ur argument with this point. Really Really Really not a gooooooooooood idea to automatically give +10% dmg to our highest dps weapon. The meta builds dont have access to the strength line and berserker…..the meta build NEEEED to NOT have access to more gs damage. But ya other than that…..this change would work great for my own build and free up axe mastery builds….but because it buffs the meta builds that arent taking the strentgh line, its a big nono. You would need to change the idea a bit more. Honestly keeping it and making the might stacks work with all weapons is an option…..or divide it into 2 separate traits.

ya the daze SWT troll lord…..oh man i miss his OPness sometimes. set lord….has been a cakewalk, hammer char but he offers lord defenders very useful support cc abilities. NWT on the other hand is a bit tankier but offers defenders alot less suppport and help.

I wish they all did more damage on their easy to read and dodge windups attacks.

Like the earth keep lord golemn boss is imo the best boss in terms of balance and abilities. They are easy to read and dodge/block……very easy fight that requires jumping….dodging….blocks….etc. Thats all great! The thing is tho……most of his attacks don’t do any damage! His ground pound shockwave one should do alot of damage given how easy it is to avoid yet his unavoidable fire spewer and single target spike attacks are the attacks that do the most dmg….why?

big tip to note is Dodge is not a perfect eva mech in the game. there is a .1 frame in between dodge so if you time your skill to land on in between dodge frames you easily nuke down thief unless there con. in that case your basically dead no matter what you run XD.

I’ve done this multiple times on thiefs but recreating it reliably has been impossible….but now that I know its in between dodges that they are vulnerable i might be able to. I’d like to see a video or more information on how to take advantage of this. I run gunflame….so having points in their dodges that I can land the hit would be amazing.

i am just giving you my insight as a 7000 hour thief <3 if people want thief to be better they need to allow other classes know of there punish frames for anet to properly balance it.

i ask one of my friends to help me with the recording. as you can view he start a dodge at .3 frame in you start gun flame it should hit. in the last clip i still casted it at .3 frame but i assume because of him not being directly on top of me cause me to miss.

Its like right as soon as he lands behind you, ya have to start the windup. Oh man that is gonna take some practice….especially when i don’t have positional ques.

This thread has turned into something entirely different than the original OP. Keep it on topic……

Everyone should be allowed to play the way they want to play. If they want only Ts users in their squad following them ….fine. If they want only non-Ts users in their squad following them…..fine. If you are kicking someone for either of these reasons you are limiting ur effectiveness in wvsw…..but thats UR choice as well. You can’t force people not to follow the tags either……so if you want to start hating on people I don’t see how that is going to be in ur best interest. If it does make you popular and allows you to gain the followers you seek……then i kind of pity humanity. But play the way you want, and respect others for playing the way they want.

That’s really what it boils down to….a lack of respect. Be respectful. The game is setup originally to be played through text based chat. People not following that are really the ones who are rebelling…..its rather ironic that voip users are the ones doing the discriminating when in similar examples it would easily be the other way around.

i just never got into bow….from the first time i tried it at launch i never felt any affinity with it. it aways felt like a bunch of random array of straight attacks….why would i want an exploding shot and a blind and a lb 2 and a cripple ALLL BINDED TO DIFFERENT ATTACKS….just give me 1-2 attacks that do alll this cc and condi stuff.

rifle felt more complete…..felt personality and control over a fight (cc, breathing room, kite ability). with bow i was just firing shots and hoping the thing im shoooting dies before it hits me enough times.

Get Assasin Earrings and Berserker everything else, that’ll get you at 96% crit chance (I think).
Then just faceroll all pve content.

Here’s what the old Berserker Stance will give you – nothing. Anyone who can counterplay Berserker Stance now will be able to kite you for the original 8s of Berserker Stance, nevermind the 4s you’re proposing.

And yet the current berserker stance is giving me nothing because it doesnt work for even 3 seconds. mbe I’m not running the meta melee builds…mbe im not even running defense traitline….

mbe i dont have a stability and thats why signet of stamina and its 1/4 cast is a BIG DEAL. if ur going to come at me from the meta you haven’t read my OP and you are approaching the problem from an alrdy narrow minded stance.

choppy ur posts are always about creating bunker builds with versatility in defense….basically ur basic axeshield gs warrior. yes these are effective and high damage. but is it viable to say endure pain should last 2 seconds since we get 2 of them with defense traitline? WHAT IF YOU DONT USE DEFENSE TRAIT LINE….UR ENDURE PAIN IS 2 SECONDS SHORTER.

U can’t justify a skill not being underpowered because of it pairing with a build specific traitline. thats like me saying alll stabilities should have half their duration except when ur traited for balanced state over rousin resilence and cleansing ire. how would u feel about that? cause that is exactly equivalent to ur argument about how 3 second bursts of resistance are more than sufficient on a warrior. it aint sufficient, and thats the point of the thread.

I wish you would approach discussions on the forums from a broader mindset. Warrior shouldn’t have to be discussed and balanced from the perspective of just the meta builds….they r meta to begin with because some1 did that. having 2 different sets of condi defense should mean two relatively equal defensive options….yet ur disagreeing with this since the winning of the two sets is is alrdy ur meta.

downed state needs nerfs in unlikely places

-traps and any aoe that hasn’t been proc’d should be removed when some1 enters downed state. Its not so much cause it offers unfair advantages (it offers alot for druids)…its cause it stalls gameplay which is not good for managing server issues or the flow of gameplay.

-ele mistform needs fixes. any attack initiated before they exit mistform is negated even if they become vulnerable. this is rly dumb and unfair. u can aim a ranged shot to go off and hit once they exit mistform and it will be negated with invulnerable when they are actually vulnerable (same with melee with windup attacks). no other classes get this advantage….and it makes no sense for it to exist given how amazing ele downed state abilities alrdy are. Make misftform work like the engineers elixir c (mini potion)…that way skilled players can be rewarded for timing their attacks….and the rest of us dont get awkward invulnerability shutting down our attacks.

obviously these will be unpopular changes given all things state are meta, but it needs to be done.

-invulnerability absorbing attacks especially aoe on downed players recently revived should be looked into as well. honestly i think invulnerability upon being downed and being revived shouldnt exist (definitely not in wvsw), but 1 thing at a time…

Well if you think siege is good the way it is……I don’t know how to convince you otherwise.

It is a mess as the OP states…..it reallly is. Things no longer make any conventional sense they just work a certain way for the sake of working a certain way. The pulls too…..my gawddddd the pulls you can inflict on people on walls is absolutely disgusting. Totally agree the best tactic to defending an objective is to camp it and (a) create a killzone with siege for when the enemy gets in; (b) use the tower’s entrance teleport to get the drop on the enemy group; © use both a and b

Its a steep learning curve with this game but it all comes down to: if you buy gems with real money make sure you use them on things you know you will get. Buying gems with gold or whatever…..it works a bit better but its still bulloney, but thats the design choice they chose for the game and its just a matter of opinion whether you like it.

I wish I had known this ahead of time, and I wish other people had more access to this information going into the gemstore. In my case I just lost a bit of gold but everything i spend my gold on IS…..arguably a waste of gold at this point.

I mean intuitively you would think that you could buy legendary weapons with real cash for a decent price….when in reality it costs many times the actual game in real world cash to buy just 1. Nothing in this game regarding gems is intuitive.

About Rifle Butt.. hard to land

problem with rifle is the targetting of it is horrid. So with rifle butt there is a delay on it which you can adapt to for targets in the firing radius…..but couple that delay with “turning” more than 90degrees and often time you’ll just put it on cd rather than proc it. Also if you have something targetted that gets behind you when u proc the butt….what happens? It goes on cd and doesnt even go off….so anyone infront of you who would have gotten hit doesn’t. Rifle is too targetting heavey……and when the targetting system sucks its not a good combination.

I would honestly take a 4 second pure condi invulnerability over this 9s of no condi invulnerability vs necro/chrono (like endure pain).

You cannot dooooo anything in alot of situations.

My condi is as follows: healing signet, and berserk stance. This is 2 slots out of 5 dedicated to condi resistance…..and what happens?

Chrono condi bombs me: I hit berseker stance…chrono eats my boons….i activate healing signet….resistance doesn’t have stacks so what happens? chrono eats my boons.
If I use healing signet and berserker stance at the same time 1 boonstrip will take away the first 3 seconds of condi resistance from berserker state AND the 6 seconds of healing signet. Given the number of weakness conditions these 2 classes seem able to inflict on me…what happens if I’m a power user? Well I do no meaningful damage while they are attacking me. So…I can’t do damage against these guys…I can’t defend myself against these guys….what the kitten am I supposed to do other than try to outrun a chrono?

Warriors aren’t boon heavy….stripping the right boons is the easiest thing in the world when fighting one.

I don’t get how this is fair given how few other condi classes actually have the ability to do insane cc/condi/stealth/boonstrips. Condi warriors can’t boonstrip me….engies can’t boonstrip me…rangers can’t boonstrip….when thieves can boonstrip me ill go cry in a corner but they CAN"T right now. Rev can’t either…..its just 2 classes that can. And honestly it makes sense that necro can do it as a built-in class mechanic.

But if I’m up against a zerg or a group of 2 with 1 or more reaper/chrono what the helk can I do exactly? NOTHING. my RESISTANCE IS WORTHLESSSSSS. I have to spec condi clears instead….what condi clears do I have? signet of stamina….but that has a cast time so i need a stability when using it and time to use it and im not doing damage or anything when im using it. what else do i have?….nothing, i have nothing else unless i trait for it…and that kills so many build options right there.

If I had the old berserker stance for wvsw though….maybe the game would allow me to kill someone in a large zerg when I outplay the zerg? Maybe? i mean wtf happens when you down a player in a large zerg as a warrior…..u go to flag plant or finish them:
-u need a stability
-u need condi resistance
-u need an endure pain
you need those 3 things to flag plant or stay in the fighting area to cleave them. all the while ur attack radius is small while theirs is larger…so most of them don’t have to worry about u hurting them and can just glass cannon you. They can stealth the enemy who got downed, they can freeze you if necro there, they can heal the downed player faster than you can flagplant or cleave. You don’t have stealth…..you don’t have giant aoe…..what other class has the short end of the stick other than warrior? the only 1 that comes to mind is revenant (but they have built-in ways to resist while warrior does not), all the others have stealth or heavy aoe/block/damage resistance (easy way to not need stability or condi resistance or endure pain……and land ur flagplant/cleave easily).

If I’m fighting 2 reapers….fine let them make my use of resistance worthless. If I’m fighting 1 cannon chrono tho its like……wtf?!?!!?! They condi bomb me from stealth, i proc a resistance….they remove it…..i proc another….they remove it….ive got weakness and cripples on me and theres no way to outrun a blink so im pretty much just waiting to die at that point since they just block/stealth anything i throw at them in this dying state not that it would do any damage to them anyways.

Our class needs another condi clear……seriously. If you don’t have cleansing ire ur screwed with these berserker stance changes. Just another reason why not having defense traitline is a buildkiller. You already have to have berseker trait line…..like wtf u killed 3/4 of the class mechanics right there.
