When did FA cap “most of DBBL”? It looks as untouched as ever.
Looks more to me like both servers have been camped out in YBBL for the last few days.
Just when I said it was of course.
inb4 match thread
This is hilarious. FA capped most of DBBL while DB was “helping” FA. FA and DB both wanted that keep and were trying to kill all the YB there before going after each other.
And it isn’t like this is anything YB doesn’t do with hitting another server when it is being attacked at the same time by the third server.

My location: Romania
Time and date of incident: EVERYDAY between 20:00 and up until 00:00 (GMT+2)
Game World: Seafarer’s RestDescription:
Almost each day during the 20:00 – 00:00 (GMT+2) Time interval the game gets unplayable due to huge lag. What I get is 15 seconds or more chat delay, skill activation delay, half minute or more freezes, frequent disconnects, unable to reconnect or reconnecting takes ages, and then I get DC again. In the last 3 weeks I think only 4 or 5 days when this didn’t happen.
For me it happens ONLY during that time interval and it’s weird, any other aplication works perfectly , my internet connection is stable.
I’m in California (my provider is AT&T U-Verse) and transferred this account to Kodash a few months ago, knowing that I’d get some skill delay due to the distance. At first I had little issue, the skill lag seemed normal, and then didn’t play for like a month. I log in the past week and I get this same exact experience. All the while I am pinging the IP I am connected to and average 179ms connection. Yet the in-game experience is that I activate a skill and sit there for 25 seconds or more waiting and waiting and waiting for something to happen. If I move I get teleported back constantly. Eventually the game “catches up” and all the buttons I’ve been hitting go through, in a similar manner as to what happens sometimes in large fights in NA Prime on Fort Aspenwood. Sometimes I end up dead. Even typing /ip is delayed. I’ll try to make a video of it because this is not network to me, this is something with the servers and the latest patches that have been put in place. I’d say it happens during large fights, which is mostly true, yet it also has happened when I logged in around 7am CET and there’s almost no one on.

Plus sometimes its good to drop when you cant compete because it gives you a chance to settle into a lower tier and stabilize which will help you rebuild.
No, there’s really no rebuilding this late into a stale game mode. It would take an action by Anet to completely shake things up to revive things.
I would like to know if the employees who participated in this program are following up and playing during this sneak attack test.
If you are running a guild group in WvW, there’s a chance you could inadvertently give strategy away against a person in your guild whose server you are currently facing (if you use Guild Chat, for instance).
Plus, what happens if you have multiple officers from different servers? The guild upgrades (+5 supply, guild catas, etc) – it’s like supplying weapons to your enemy during a battle. Makes no sense at all.
So? I’m not a fan of telling guilds how they should be playing this game. And trying to create restrictions on guilds that make no sense doesn’t change the fact that anyone can buy another account and put it on another server without needing to be a member of a guild.
So, no comment on guild resources? Frankly, guilds across servers is a stupid idea. One that raises more issues than any benefit it provides – unless you do away with WvW altogether. Based on what has happened to it, and what hasn’t happened to it in 2 years, that could be coming.
I’ll reiterate. I’m not a fan of telling guilds how they should play. That includes how they decide to use their own resources that they built. Did you know that one can buy guild catas off the trading post?
What real issues does this raise over benefits? You haven’t really said. Like, it was a real big problem in the past for wvw guilds that transferred servers and had to completely rebuild all their upgrades and influence. All their past effort was made unavailable to them. You are somehow suggesting to go back to that and make it even worse, force members to not be members while transfers going on. It is far more beneficial to have a system that allows players to organize guilds in the way they want rather than shoehorn them into a single guild-type concept.

I’m fine with all this. I figured the team switching had something to do with maybe looking for players on the mini-map being in places they shouldn’t be able to be. I’ve had to ask friends on other servers sometimes to see who is on their mini-map.
Michael should use a quaggan tonic or something though. Oh, how about a Seer tonic that only GMs can use?
Oh look, just found this on the first page of this forum: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Guild-Cross-server-dueling-guild
Example of a guild that would be punished by restricting guilds to servers.

OMG no please! I was 2v1 ganked while on an uplevel trying to do map completion on a borderland for xp. There were a few FA nearby to rez me but it took them longer than 1 minute to reach me, especially when a YB zerg came passing through and they had to stealth. I’d have had to run all the way from a southern spawn point to north camp just for that north camp vista, the last point I needed, if I was forced to respawn after such a short timer. It’d be like making WvW just like EOTM where you fall off the edge. Kitten annoying.

TiN on Fort Aspenwood is looking for a skilled engineer for competitive PVP and roaming in WvW. Contact Haematic.4913
Here are two more thoughts on the subject
1) Influence is mostly earned in PvE but mostly spent in WvW. So if I join an WvW only guild all of the influence I earn in PvE will not go to the WvW guild until I’m playing with them in WvW The relationship between these two is not a clear split and needs to be addressed. I would think that if I joined a WvW guild, they would be kittened if I’m not earning influence for them for WvW activities but perhaps I’m wrong. I’m curious, how much influence a typical guild member earns from PvE versus WvW.
2) How to find a WvW guild? If you go out into WvW, unless you catch it at the right time you will not find a guild active out there, just a bunch of PUG players from different guilds like me. We need WvW server based forums to allow us to post in. They should be tied to the account so there can be no cross spying. That way you can post you want to join a WvW guild, plan attacks but members from other servers can access
1- no, not really. Wvw guilds earn a lot of influence in wvw too.
2- almost all servers have players who have set up a server forum and community voip servers and spam this info in wvw and major cities.
You really need to do more research.
Bumping for the fights!
Welcome back to FA. I found out tonight that you brought Mia. <3
If you’re on TC, go look up my FLOT bros and talk to them about T1 roaming/skirmishing. Your post is a first impression. Mine was similar.
FA recently got two new guilds in OCX and another forming during SEA time.
Players that are looking for stability should look into Fort Aspenwood. It’s a resilient community that bounces back in the face of adversity.
My friend Delune created a topic entitled “Fort Aspenwood” about a month ago. The thread list at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor?page=2 shows the thread is created by him and last commented on by me. When I click on the link (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor/Fort-Aspenwood) I get some year old post of the same name that was started by someone else and doesn’t have my comments on it.
Were topics like this supposed to be merged? How do I get to Delune’s post?
Welcome to RP Retribution of the Phoenix!
Hehe no this needs to come from Anet. They’re an established company, not a start-up. They are more than capable of paying for the development of such large changes by selling expansions, which I’d buy.
Welcome to CSB and BEEP (and you too, Vash)!
Glicko is not balance. It is a measure of a server’s expected performance at scoring and the PPT scoring system merely indicates population and coverage. Average PPT over 24 hours can be similar across all three servers yet the PPT during each timezone is vastly different. The players in each of those timezones experience either boredom from not having anyone to fight or feelings of futility and low morale. Both experiences drive players away from the game mode.
Balance is an attempt to equalize the populations in each timezone to make matches more fun for everyone. Competition can only happen between teams of equal size.
I have to say Anet have trolled all of us pretty kitten this one, getting us to try and FIX their game issues that THEY get paid to fix…..LOL.
They never said to us fix their game… These people are doing it by themselves because they want to keep their tier playstyle alive.
It’s a playstyle that existed in many other tiers in the past.
I have to say Anet have trolled all of us pretty kitten this one, getting us to try and FIX their game issues that THEY get paid to fix…..LOL.
What choice is left to players in light of no fixes?
Please take a moment of silence right now to remember yet another poor innocent victim of the murderous Stairs of Anzalias. RIP Random FA Pug Nov. 30 2014.
EU can only ever follow the same trend as NA of players transferring from lower to higher ranked servers without some changes from Anet.
The stairs at Anzalias are notoriously deadly.
Vash,
I’d love to speak to you. Sent you a PM.
Looking forward to stomping badwagons with new people!
Maybe they should remove the ability to resurrect by only allowing to if you have the outmanned buff.
They seriously need to retire the two TSR-80 servers – XX.XX.XX.161 and XX.XX.XX.162.
TRS-80. :P Affectionately known as “Trash-80”.
^^ LOL! Open world PvP. WTB.
That’s the same IP address that was causing laggy maps in past T2 matches. When YB was blue, when SoS was green…
not worry about PPT…
Now if this were to be a regular occurrence, it could become problematic…
Agreed. We’re trying to avoid this to be a regular occurrence, which unfortunately means a focus on PPT.
Not that DB would be much different…
Still looks like DB would have been better at this point.
The GM guy is just trying to do his job.
No. You see, they aren’t doing their job and that’s why a thread like this exists in the first place.
You’re speaking about the past, clearly. This is the first time I’ve seen a GM post and ask for cooperation. That’s a good thing.
we are now reporting every member of a guild should it have members that have been caught.
Do NOT do this! False reports make getting to legitimate reports take longer and in a cheating report there is a very short window for our GMs to react. Actions like this (false reporting) will lead to your account being terminated.
Well you know what, maybe if you guys actually did something to prevent hacking across the TWO YEARS your game has been out on the market people wouldn’t have to take drastic measures to try to improve the game experience for everyone. You think it is my fault that people have to come up with their own solutions when your company won’t even communicate what they are doing to combat the problem? It’s not exactly an unknown issue and any Google search can illuminate that this has roots going back to the beginning. I don’t think it is fair that you shut down my actions when it is clear as day that you guys know about it and are doing nothing to effectively alleviate the issue at hand. Your game is wide open. You’ve got no external software to protect it that ships with the game. You can hack kitten near every part of it besides what resides server side.
LOL. All those reasons for why you want to mass-report still does nothing to solve the issue of the hacking. The GM guy is just trying to do his job.
:O
Delune doesn’t like my recruitment thread, but I gotz videoz! QQ. Come to FA. We get the fites.
TC and PWN guilds on YB looking for fights.
Calling all EU guilds who want a piece of this:
Still trying to patch! What a disaster.
If this really is the only issue with getting the new patch, then it’s really not ArenaNet’s fault. It’s an ISP thing, DNS propagation and the time lag when ISP’s update their DNS servers. I use OpenDNS and didn’t run into this issue at all. x.X
Uh yea and no. So many people having this problem makes me wonder if Anet had given up to 72 hours (which was typical when I worked for an application service provider) for DNS propagation.
No server in the history of this game has become a T1 server without a T1 server imploding and players on that server transferring to the T1.5 server. You might end up rolling a match a few times with a T1 server and gain some more rating, but T1 matches and T1 populations are not the same thing. Yaks Bend will never have a T1 population without that mass transfer of T1 players leaving a dying server, especially with T2’s NA population able to keep YB in check during NA.
If you want T1, your only choices are to try to remain T1.5 and wait for a T1 implosion (could be a long time), or why wait? Transfer to T1 today.

Access is not removed. Only the UI is hidden.
Use the keybind shortcuts to get into both PvP and WvW at lower levels.
First go to Heart of the Mists and equip your 2nd weapon set. Weapon swap is locked at lower levels in PvE but not in PvP. Once you equip in PvP, you can use weapon swap in both WvW and PvE. You have to always go into HotM in order to change to a different weapon set though.
Then go into WvW. Enjoy.
The TC guild on YB raids during EU. Any EU guilds looking for guild fights will find them. And you won’t be alone since we have a militia commander on during EU.
Your best bet is to go to T1. It has better competition during OCX prime. Check out Sern on TC.
T2’s OCX is uncompetitive due to higher population differences between the three servers. SoS has the largest OCX but they are mainly from PvX guilds, so lots of pugs. Their main OCX guilds went to kitten get better fights. FA’s OCX is a little more organized but with less players. I’m not as familiar with YB’s OCX, but they’re dominating in the match because they have the off-prime numbers to paper SoS and FA’s stuff during the times preceeding NA and OCX primes.
(edited by Chaba.5410)
Go to T1. OCX/SEA/EU players on other tiers after 2 years of player attrition translates into extremely unbalanced matches.
Oh no. Sounds like SoSBL’s problems hit you guys now.
Well the players can collectively do something “themselves” if they really want to.
Organize something offline where we find out what guilds mainly play in what time slots and how many per guild. Then collectively organize “ourselves” to populate a couple of tiers accordingly.
Some guilds already attempt to do this.
