Yak’s bend is beating Crystal Desert right now. They are probably a better candidate considering they recently got more transfers

CD’s rating puts them in rank 7, two to three ranks above YB.

This will be the third WvW season where a server (Maguuma) is locked into a league it has no business being in simply because of RNG match-making and the failure of the ratings system to account for mass-transfers into and out of servers. Maguuma can’t lose rating fast enough despite ticking sub-100 PPT for the majority of the match.

Crystal Desert got the closest to T2 out of the T3 servers. Please consider switching them with Maguuma for the Fall Tournament.

How are they supposed to fix this? Force players into certain servers? Merge server communities that hold animosity towards each other? WE made these unbalanced matches, not anet. WE chose what servers to play on, creating these stacked servers.

You on ET? Do you not remember the 13 straight weeks of SF’s complete blowout of ET and FC or how Anet manually intervened?

The T8 adjustment occurred in response to the Kaineng free-transfer bandwagon sucking rating points out of T8. Look at today and the ratings system still has issues with regards to accounting for mass transfers in and out of servers. It just doesn’t react fast enough to settle a server into a tier suitable for it’s new population size.

See SoR, HoD, and now Maguuma.

It is too late for that. There was a match one week months ago where Anet manually intervened for T8.

The exact quote is that Yak’s Bend would be spawn camped. Players in T2 really aren’t thrilled by YB’s lack of fights. Additional comments were also made regarding FA seeking a 2v1 against SoS with CD’s help if they were able to roll a T2 match.

The reward duration is weekly but the amount is determined by placement which as I stated causes players to stack on “winning” servers.

Yea, there’s that problem. The only worthwhile server to stack on would be the one expected to come in first for the whole tournament. The rewards are not worth stacking to first place server every match.

Servers in T3-4 right now are not fighting to their full potential. The competitive matches are merely an illusion and do not predict actual tournament performance.

In all likelihood, T2 populations won’t stabilize until Mag drops. There’s just no way to stabilize in 3-way matches with only 2 servers.

Make it happent, Anet! Let’s not have another server stuck at the bottom of a league they don’t belong in, like what happened to SoR in Season 2.

The appearance of even matches pre-season in T3-4 is only an illusion. The tournament will consist of four matches where a server’s full force shows up in WvWvW on overdrive.

Yes. And I understand that there isn’t much out side of prime time but seeing as most people play during prime time (hence the name) it still applies in a general sense

Yep, the NA prime players do get fun matches.

In my experience, during season 2 there wasn’t much outside of NA prime for late PST players/early OCX below T2 unless the EST players decided to stay up late. FA’s just on the cusp of that currently it seems. The number of players SoS has out during late PST means plenty of enemies to fight against for me, even knowing that after I log everything will be gone. Mag doesn’t have it anymore. That’s why off-prime players have been aggregating into T1. It’s hard to get good match-ups for the OCX/SEA/EU primes when those populations are spread out on servers that won’t match each other often, even harder to play off-prime.

This is too true. SInce pre-launch, through the ups and the downs.

The tournament will shake things around a bit and SoS OCX will have some competition in match ups against JQ/BG/TC. Looking forward to it.

At some point players realize that the state of WvWvW two years since launch are not the same as when they first started playing.

What I meant by not caring is that they’re casuals to WvW; not involved in it to the extent that players in WvW guilds are. I can’t be the only one here to remember posts to this forum from such players not understanding why they’re locked out of WvW.

There’s a lot of players who don’t care for WvWvW or the tournament and got stuck with this lockout thing from the last season. It lead to a lot of confusion and more than a handful of posts in this forum. I’m not surprised there’s no lock-out. Good riddance.

To be fair, you did not explicitly include equipped gear in your definition of “inventory”. When someone looks at their “inventory” in this game, it only shows stuff in their bags, not their equipped gear. A player has to look at a their hero screen to access equipped gear.

Yep, there would be a subset of players running with an inventory full of spikes just to be kitten. And then what is the point of the system anyway? Spikes, mats, some armor and weapons, and other loot are already dropped.

I can only conclude that the 6-9-9 leagues indicate that the population distribution does not linearly decline down the ranks. Most of it is concentrated near the top.
