The primary reason to transfer these days is due to WvWvW. Tier-based transfer pricing would be best.
This is the effect of…
1) free transfers
2) gold league being only 6 servers
3) ratings isolation cause of leagues (servers at the league borders being prevented from fighting each other)
4) slow glicko adjustments for population changes
5) WvWvW’s lack of teams of roughly equal size
Going to PvE might be a good idea. Wait until the ratings adjustments finally blow over.

Snowreap, please consider adding the predicted ratings used in your analysis. I’m kind of wondering what “reasonably close” means and how much of a difference is needed to throw the numbers significantly off.

Regardless of warning, it is aggravating when the golems despawn due to a patch. It doesn’t happen to other siege and the omegas are the most expensive of them all.
You notice it more if you have an alt account because it seems like one account is more lucky than another even though the other has a higher magic find %.
Ah. To be fair, they didn’t say that it was tied to the achievements, but that could have caused some gaming of the system to occur, where ppl would hold off playing until later in the tourney to see which server to go to. In your case, did you complete any achievements on SoR? The game thinks you did most achievements there it seems.
I’m convinced that the rng is salted by something unique to each account.

You can’t transfer mid-season and expect TC rewards. Anet did that to discourage mid-season transfers to winning servers. Re-read the blog post about the tourney and world association.
One of the ways to develop your scouts is to be responsive to their call-outs.
One of the reasons I liked pugmanding was that you gotta make a mental picture with the information scouts are sending you and think ahead and constantly evolve your choices like a chess game. But that is only possible when there is a challenge due to teams being of roughly equal size or you are somewhat outnumbered. If your server is outnumbering another by a wide margin, all that goes out the window and it becomes just mindless running from one objective to another. That’s why I only really pugmanded when the going got tough.
Oh, and we are West Coast so we don’t start our raid until like 9pm Pacific.

Probably. LOL. We just started raiding last match and are still working on building our team. It’ll be a story of how to take noobs and scrubs and turn them into a skill group. LOL.
It’s usually a dearth of players wanting to tag up for whatever reason. Buy a tag and become a commander yourself. Make sure you have a thick skin and don’t care about what other people think.
Kind of wish FA could fight DB but that would require another T3 server to roll a T2 match, which is next to impossible.

A few of us last night were talking in TS about how we’d prefer expansion packs we could buy as well compared to the current model. If a GvG mode were in it, we’d definitely buy it.
The answer about resources is really really really really simple. Sell game expansion packs like what was done in GW1. Include a new GvG mode maybe via guild halls, some new playable race and/or class, etc. People would buy it just like they bought Factions.
The skill isn’t overpowered just because of the design of the map. Put the skill in a different map context and it is pretty normal. This reminds me so much of the calls to nerf engineer knockbacks in PvP just because the capture nodes are too small of a radius.

Look at it this way. All the other servers we fought artificially inflated their numbers and coverage by staying up late and doing other weird things like NA militia commanders taking power naps then waking up to organize SEA. And you did that to your detriment because it doesn’t reflect your “normal operating speed”. So you end up with little idea of how your server’s performance normally would be. That’s a loss in a race cuz you got nothing left when your opponent pulls a power 10 in the last 500 feet (yes, I used to coxswain).

The real problem is that the Glicko rating is too sticky.
If there’s any doubt of this, look at SoR getting stuck in matches with DB so so many times in the month before Season 2, which caused them to then get stuck at the bottom of Silver for the season (9 kitten weeks!) when they should rightly have been in Bronze.
AFAIK the NA and EU instances are two different databases. When you transfer to EU from NA, your account data exists on both databases but only one copy is the “live” version (you can tell from seeing your account now on both the NA and EU achievements leaderboards). Probably because the EU servers are different, they cannot copy the NA rewards data for your account to the EU instance. The game has little idea which server you are associated with for rewards purposes then unless you transfer back to NA sooo…. they should make transfers free for you who are affected. Good luck.

Slow down then. It is possible that you are confusing the game. Lag, server load, and network latency are real.
Are you dodging or doing some other weird thing like trying to activate another skill or weapon swap before Entangle is fully cast? I know nothing about ranger skills, but I do know that some stuff is bugged and will go on a full cooldown without taking effect.
For example, look here. At 0:45 in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUWzyFTm0qw&feature=player_detailpage#t=49) I activate Renewed Focus then do a weapon swap before it is fully cast. The skill ends up on full cooldown and doesn’t reset the virtues.
P.S. Screenshots suck. Record video. And yea, the guy targeted in the screenshot has stability up. Being aware of skills and rotations other players are using is the “skill” part of this game. It is what makes PvP much more interesting than PvE.

Right now, SoR has the same transfer price as BG, TC, JQ, etc. Just lol.
Make it easy. Merge them smaller servers and be done with it. Pointless to have servers that barely have 1/5 population of the top 5 servers.
Server population is greater that WvW population, which presents a slight problem when suggesting server merges based solely on wvw rank. But yea, tier based pricing makes a lot more sense since megaserver implementation. It is the wvw population that cares about transfers.

They sieged N camp in HoD BL with 4 ballistas and 3 ACs along with about 10 players. Then they proceeded to farm pugs that came to flip the camp. This went on for hours and is probably going on now.
Have you never done this to an enemy’s north camp? That’s nothing unique to YB. Setting up a farm like that is very old. Usually we’d add in rams and trebs too for the lulz.
As for HoD, it couldn’t have been all transfers that made you all the powerhouse of Season 2. Must’ve been PvE’ers coming out too. Yall need them to get back in the game.

Not true. Many servers can get PvE’ers back. The core of a server community typically have good relationships with each other. It is as simple as sending in-game mail to the leaders of a server’s PvE guilds and asking them to rally in WvW for a coordinated one-night push. Bandwagon servers don’t have that. Their core community is much smaller and overwhelmed by the mass of new players who don’t have relationships with each other. The only problem with megaserver in the situation of bandwagon is that it makes it harder to increase community, but please don’t make generalizations about other servers based on that.

Yea, the year count of each map is funny, but absurd. No business operates that way. The design phase of a product is given more resources for design than when the product enters the production phase.
They’re only human, much like the players who just bash the devs.
Really would like some redesigning of Bay, Hills, Garrison, other towers, etc. It would probably take less resources than whole new maps.

Do you get loot for logging out too? Maybe they should give higher quality loot for logging in and lower quality loot for logging out.
