I … don’t really do alot of map completion anymore.
That’s how we got our stones before the wardrobe, that’s still the answer. Yes, it’s only one third as effective as before (which is annoying, I agree) – but it’s the only way without paying gold/gems. Just make a new character, explore the five racial cities and Lion’s Arch, delete and reroll to repeat.
Again, as someone with plenty of <80 alts, I do feel your pain… but that’s always been and still is the only solution. Unless you count the ridiculously rare chance that dailies will drop a charge; or a black lion key dropping and the chest dropping one.
Stop making these threads. Yes, it was cool – but it’s not needed.
So, some random nobody who wrote an article about NCSoft buying the rights to use the new Unreal engine has just decided Guild Wars 3 is happening…?
Yeah…
What’s the point of the wardrobe when I still have to lug around alternate armour sets on all of my characters; just so I can use the skins without being charged every single time I swap? Please; download, install and launch LOTRO; look at their wardrobe system – you are not charged for every single outfit change and it works.
As for town clothes – ruined. I know they had clipping issues in combat, etc; but fixing those would’ve been better than tonics.
I apologise for the negativity… but even a quality of life update for cosmetics has gone wrong and turned into a marketing ploy.
This is the good part of the update.
Nice video, just a shame that it has a ten second cooldown. Sorry to burst your bubble.
That’s not really what they asked.
As for the title and lost skins, probably not. Might be worth contacting support after the patch goes live (don’t bother doing so beforehand to save time, they give a copypasta ‘we can’t help yet’ response).
This thread has really summed things up pretty much perfectly. As for the Anet respsonses:
Part of the development process is prioritization, so I’d like to know what you feel are the highest impact items you think would improve our storytelling delivery. What are your top three requests?
1) To stop saying exactly what I’ve quoted above. Sure, this isn’t entirely relevant to the pretty abysmal writing we’ve had in the Living Story (not trying to be mean, but I could write better than the end product of it and am willing to prove it), but it is a major flaw to feedback gathering. Every non-CDI thread that gets any notice is just referred to the CDIs and is sometimes asked the same dreaded question from every CDI – three things aren’t enough. With the path Anet’s walked down, a lot more than three things need to be done; sorry.
2) Sort out the game as a whole. The main gripe I have with the Living Story is that it’s seemingly the only thing that’s being worked on. There’s barely anything to do in this game one and a half years after release. Fractals are the only sizeable new content we’ve had that’s actually stayed around. The Living Story will attract a lot less negative attention if you can keep the playerbase entertained and happy with the core game.
3) Since you’ve asked for three, I’ll give three: write something decent. I know, it’s not very helpful, but it’s the truth. Read the forums, threads like this point out major flaws. You couldn’t just write a terrible book and expect it to become a bestseller and make a fortune, when it’s just a plain terrible book. Saying ‘oh, we’ll try harder next time’ isn’t really good enough… this time went out to your customers and not only have a large number of them disliked it – it’s actually had a negative impact on the game and has taken away from things they actually want (such as expansions or new content). Look back at Guild Wars – there were plots and stories back there. They were good. Compare them to… this… thing you’ve flung out here. How do they differ?
Sorry for the ‘bad’ feedback, because I know it’s not as constructive as you’d like. But in my opinion, you shouldn’t be trying to improve the Living Story; or even trying to salvage it. Wipe the slate clean and get working on the Crystal Desert, Cantha, Elona or write something decent involving the remaining dragons, or the White Mantle/Lazarus the Dire, or something that isn’t just an annoying, two dimensional ‘The Mary of all Sues’ being chased down by pretty shallow heroes.
4) Lesbians are fine. I have nothing against lesbians. However, human beings (along with sylvari, charr, norn, asura and I presume any other inhabitants of Tyria) can have more to them than just ‘lesbian’, or ‘lesbian who hiccups when nervous, but this was only explained in idle dialogue that the majority of players would never see’. If we’re going to keep this group of NPCs… could you please add the C to some of them?
I’ll be honest, as others have said, it’s basically non-existent in this game. I’ve only seen one MMO handle it better. More could be done, I agree, but I’m satisfied for now.
Berserker’s gear will be weaker when ferocity is rolled out, but it will still be the highest dps set in the game. If you want damage, go for it. If you want to actually experiment, I’d suggest waiting.
How to put it…? Anet doesn’t believe in adding permanent content.
During all of the living story kitten we’ve had, they’ve said they’ve added stuff that’ll stick around… but just tiny titbits here and there – nothing of actual note. Oh, and they wrecked Lion’s Arch just because they could.
I love this game, but we need something new. And not new shinies being dangled in front of us – actual content that people will play because it’s fun to play.
While I agree that not all of the changes in the feature pack are my cup of tea either, I must disagree with the idea that they’ve barely been requested (wardrobe, guilds, champion farming nerf and the sort have been asked for, sorry).
However, I do believe that more needed to be done for such a big song and dance. Yes, they can’t give us everything instantly, I appreciate that. But they could be doing a lot more.
- A sizeable number of weapon/armour sets that aren’t just a couple of pieces, in the gem store or gated behind strange requirements. GW1 has a ton of stuff – use it!
- Overhaul the music system so it uses regular notes, instead of the solfege nonsense we have now. How about a .abc system while we’re at it?
- Make condition damage worth using.
- Make healing power worth using.
- Make everything in the game besides champions, boss events, some dungeons, WvW and PvP appealing (and not by throwing loot at it)
- Actually balance the classes.
- Make the game live up to the manifesto and the broken promises made before launch.
- Guild halls/player housing.
- Give smaller guilds a purpose.
- Make SAB open every Tuesday or Thursday, or something like that.
- Work on some behind the scenes stuff to make large scale events not lag the hell out of those of us without superior computers/internet connections.
- Add some permanent new content.
- Continue the story. And by story, I mean story – not cutscenes prioritising lesbian kissing over the villain’s master plan.
- New game mode akin to SAB, where you play as Poobadoo and gain points for disrupting and licking Tengu merchant caravans.
- Hell, how aren’t Tengu on this list?
But yeah… Anet has been slacking off for the past year or so – you’ve got some catching up to do!
How about all of them? Select the primary stat, then select the secondary and tertiary stats (no duplicates, of course). Sure, this would change crafting and ascended boxes a lot… but it’s a lot better than receiving a couple of nearly useless stat combos every year.
If that’s too much to ask, how about some combination of Healing Power, Boon Duration and Condition Damage?
On a personal note: I still hate you for what you did to Angorodon’s Gaze, Izzy. -.-
- The intent of the schedule is to:
- consistently provide access to large scale content for players who want to play it
I want to play it, I have limited play time and might not be able to log on at X o’clock on any day of the week. Most of the events are stuck to their timers and the ones which can be played at any time, are only so if a large guild makes it so. The playerbase is not a hivemind (despite what Queensdale, Frostgorge or a WvW map with Vizunah in it may seem like).
To be, consistently means never.
Right… where to begin?
I can’t be on twenty four hours a day and I don’t belong to, or want to be forced to join, a large guild that can invoke the world bosses. Also, smaller guilds still struggle with the insane costs for most of these unlocks – we’re already forced to join larger guilds just to play some of the game’s content and access the rewards.
So, I guess I can summarise it with two questions:
1) When will smaller guilds be able to do… anything?
2) Why do I always get the short straw with every update?Hi Chameleon Dude,
let me try to answer your questions:
1) I think with the new megaserver thingy you will be able to find a lot of new people you may like and play with. So maybe you can form/extend your guild by new people? Even if not, maybe you just can start playing with them and “do anything”. I see the potential here
2) Quiet the same answer as on the first one, but let me add something. Without a large guild you would not even be able to kill those hardcore bosses by yourself on some servers (no players are going to try it) but with this update, you may have the possibility to get some new players which are going to try it. I’d say, let’s see what time gives us.
Thanks for a sensible reply, as opposed to ‘let the huge guilds do it’. Sadly, even with the smaller world bosses – most of them will be off-limits to those of us who don’t have eight hours a day to dedicate to the game. Being a Desolation player, I’ve never had issues with these bosses before; so while some are receiving these new possibilities, others are losing old ones.
I am not sure if your responding to my post with a quote from your post but i addressed it you cant do these events in a small guild as is your more or less tagging along with other larger guilds to do them in a way you already joined a large guild to do these events you just did not ask or your not flying there tag.
Again, how am I supposed to know what another guild is doing and when? These events have and are often completed by servers, not just specialised or large guilds; apart from those who can be on at time X or Y, this is now a thing of the past.
I’ll stop posting now, I’m clogging up the thread.
Sorry. XD
(edited by Chameleon Dude.1564)
And how do we know when these are? Guilds usually plan their events, some guilds make seperate ranks just for people who only want to join for guild missions, and don’t have to represent outside of that. I’m sure some guilds will do the same with world events. Just try to get help of guilds, it’s what this game is about after all.
Will these times be any more convenient for us? depends on what guild you roll with
Will the large guilds even want us randoms there? Even if they don’t, they can not kick you so they really have no choice. But if you just cooperate with them, they will most likely appreciate the help.
You have to understand that these large events are made to be completed through cooperation with a lot of people. It only makes sense this is made easier if you are in a large guild.
I don’t belong to, or want to be forced to join, a large guild
Easier? Sure, I’m fine with that. As it stands, content that was available to all is literally impossible for some of us to access now. Sorry for using my guilds for social reasons, not farming and boss hunting.
That the old argument about GM when they first came out so small guilds CAN get these events to trigger but its going to take a longer time for them to get to that point and most of these events need a high number of players in the first places so if your doing them on anything lower then say a 50 man guild you cant even complete at least 2 of the 3 major events (i think you can kill KQ but there no way you can kill teq or JW.)
I think what may happen is you will have guild like TTS become trigger guilds for ppl it would be nice to see more bigger guilds step up for there worlds to become trigger guilds too. I think unlike GM you do not need to be in the guild to get a reward form this system so there realty no need to join the guild more on the lines know when the guild dose there events.
As things stand now the system kind of a mess making OF just to make sure your guild is in at the right time waiting 2hr+ to make sure you get the mob this should give a lot more order and contort to the guilds that do these events (lets faces it your not going to have 10 small man guilds come together to do this event its going to take a large guild as it dose now and has been for the start of these major events.)
I don’t belong to, or want to be forced to join, a large guild
(edited by Chameleon Dude.1564)
We get this thread daily,; the answer has always been, still is, and hopefully will always be: no.
The game is already a complete cluster-kitten of max size characters, giant, spiky armour, glowing greatswords and special effects. We don’t need them riding horses, sparkly unicorns or even some sort of mechanized, steampunk hippopotamus that radiates a green cloud full of carrots out of its nostrils.
I doubt it. But don’t worry, they’re now account bound! You can always give that PVT shield to your mesmer.
While reading this i’d like to puke all over you. People like you are the worst thing which could ever happen to a game!
So, wouldn’t you rather give them their own private instance of the map so we don’t have to put up with them?
Everyone can participate in Boss Event started a by a guild, so no worries.
And how do we know when these are? Will these times be any more convenient for us? Will the large guilds even want us randoms there?
Right… where to begin?

Discourage teamwork, encourage leeching
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

It’s no worse than WvW Season 1 – telling everyone to waste supplies instead of fighting.
Seriously though, Anet need to sort out their idea of achievements… so many of them are like this, or are temporary and either difficult/out of the player’s control.
There is nothing wrong with Farming / Zerg
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Chameleon Dude.1564
Sorry, but if nobody else is going to say it, I guess I will.
Events scale
Be it eight or eighty players, the events in Lion’s Arch scale accordingly. If there wasn’t a zerg at point X, the enemies could be handled. When a zerg passes through an objective or simply doesn’t do it properly in order to farm – it hurts the overall effort. Every person in the zerg, making the events scale to the zerg, is another person who isn’t elsewhere where they might actually be needed.
Of course, some zergers do try to at least do the events, and I appreciate that a lot. However, as already stated, it is a bit of a pain that Anet has designed the game so that nearly anything and everything seems as if it should be zerged. Still, it’s a loophole with a core game mechanic, we can hardly blame the players for it… unless they’re just plain toxic (see: Queensdale/Frostgorge).
I know you don’t want to get into the split xp/loot thing, but it really isn’t split. Mobs give xp based on 1) the type of mob, and 2) how long it has been alive in the world – so places don’t get farmed repeatedly for xp.
As for what there is to do in the game: since players seem to be content zerging around to grind in a game that promised to be grind-free… not much, I’m afraid. PvP is lackluster, WvW is either a zergy lag-fest or a laggy zerg-fest, crafting is a few minutes looking at a recipe list and minigames… yeah… I’m normally a fan of those, but the ones here are meh.
If you want to play, I’d suggest finding people to play with – fun can happen and no, they won’t steal your loot or xp.
Re-releasing them made me happy – screwed over plenty of hoarders who artificially inflate the economy and make things out of reach for the rest of us. Plus more of these pretty dyes are floating around to actually be used.
This blog post can be seen by anyone, not only the ones who have already bought GW2, did you seriously expected that they would bash their own game saying things like “we dropped the ball multiple times” or that “for quite some time we had no communication with devs”?
Did I expect it? No.
Should they have admitted that they’ve made some mistakes this year and attempt to reassure their playerbase that they’ve learnt from them and have bettered themselves from the experience – even if it was just a lie? Yes.
I’m glad to see some constructive discussion taking part on this thread, as opposed to typical forum responses (hence the part in my post about my opinion being wrong; as several of you have said, it can’t be – but it’s the sort of response normally given if opinions differ).
Something did catch my eye though:
-Ascended Gear
-PvP rewards
-New Fractals
-New Tequatl
-New Runes/Sigils
-New Skills
-New events in Southsun Cove
Yes, these have been added, but without meaning to attack this little list… I do want to expand upon why I’m not particularly impressed with any of these.
- Ascended Gear – The skins were nice, I’m always up for more customisation. But all this tier of gear has done is force grind to be competitive (grind which just recycles the same content at that, and in the case of bloodstone dust/dragonite ore – encourages zerging about in either champion or world boss event chains) and give us more access to the Agony Resist stat – which I will go into more detail about. Many games have had a stat which exists purely to gate content; and many games have then removed it years later due to feedback since it’s a horrible gating mechanic. Sadly, all Ascended gear really adds to the game are stat increases only needed to fight other people with those same stat increases in World vs World and have more access to Agony Resist. Not really that helpful to the game, apart from adding a grind.
- PvP Rewards – When this system is fully released next year, I can see it being a nice way to integrate PvE and PvP – along with removing a lot of clutter and making some weapon and armour skins more accessible (and since people can just pay for dungeons to be ran for them – no harm is really done). I don’t really have anything to say against this one, apart from that it won’t do much until next year. Again, I’m not someone who demands everything to happen right now, but it can’t really count for this year.
- New Fractals – To be honest, I feel that everything apart from the Thaumanova Reactor should’ve been left in the game as dungeons. Sure, it wouldn’t make sense chronologically, but neither does completing story mode more than once in any dungeon. They’re nice to have, but they never should’ve left in the first place.
- New Tequatl – Great on paper, but there were so many problems when it was actually implemented… and they haven’t been addressed at all. Empty servers just give up, unless some large guild forces it to happen; large servers still have overflow problems and usually can’t make it happen anyway without a large guild’s presence; and the fact that the encounter requires the turrets to be used perfectly isn’t exactly great since once person can near enough ruin the event single handedly. Then of course, there are the lovely overflows to take into account. It was a nice attempt and (hopefully) a learning point for Anet, but they need to revisit it.
- New Runes/Sigils – Yeah, they’ve happened. I can’t bury my head in the sand with these. Pretty small and simple, nothing too major – but they’ve happened.
- New Skills – Again, these have happened. The toxin-related heal was pretty forced and tied to specific content, but the other heals will be a bit better. It’s a shame some of them completely outclass their counterparts though.
- New Events in Southsun Cove – I’m sorry, but that zone is another thing on the list of ‘added, but needs revisiting’. Good for resources, good for the Karka Queen event (since people feel the need to farm the world bosses) – that’s about it. The zone is a deathtrap of artificial difficulty.
After all that, I really feel I need to say sorry for being so cynical… but I’ve really not felt this year to be that amazing. I actually felt that more was done in the end of 2012 than in the whole of 2013.
Well, I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I saw this news post. After reading it, I can safely say that I’m sorely disappointed. Nothing meaningful was said, apart from that there will be plenty more Scarlet next year.
I really feel that the Living Story has killed this game for me. We’ve barely had anything actually added to the game this year – it’s all been washed away after a few weeks of being released. Instead of going forward, the plot has gone diagonally downwards-backwards-to-the-left, in a wiggly line, with occasional breaks in said line. The idea of achievement points has gone from ‘an indication of how much of the game a player has seen and done’ to ’who’s joined the zerg in the latest two-to-four week Scarlet-fest’.
Even the Living Story itself has got worse – going from at least trying to tell a story to one or two lines of plot piled with a bunch of achievements tied to content that’s already in the game.
I know that the many, many loose ends still need to be tied up Anet; but please: scrap the Living Story as it is after we’ve reached a conclusion of any sort. ‘Scarlet did it’ isn’t the answer to every lore-related question. Throwing achievement points, a back piece and the occasional title at people for zerging or redoing old content isn’t interesting – it’s lazy. I’m not asking for the Crystal Desert and Cantha to open up immediately and for all the dragons to wake up from their Living Story-induced comas – but please, give us some actual lasting content which people want to play because it’s actually fun.
‘On behalf of everyone here at ArenaNet, thank you all for an amazing 2013. Without your collaboration, feedback, dedication, and love for the world of Tyria, Guild Wars 2 simply wouldn’t be the success that it is today —nor could we reach the lofty goals we’ve set for the future.’ – This was the bit which got to me and convinced me to make the thread. As much as I love this game, 2013 was not amazing. Our feedback is only selectively considered; although dedication and love have definitely kept people playing – as opposed to the Living Story. And, lastly and sadly, I can say that I’m genuinely worried about these ‘lofty goals’. More grind being added to a game that was supposed to focus on fun over grind? More Living Story since it was such a ‘success’?
Please – step up your game Anet. I’m not sure how you measure how well the game’s doing (although I presume it’s some sort of effort:money ratio) – but 2013 really hasn’t been a success from where I’ve been looking. I’ve seen my friends list and guild lists become more and more inactive; players feeling they have to grind and join zergs; and the game reaching a point where you have to play the new, temporary content (or old content with a new, temporary carrot dangled in front of you) when Anet tells you to – otherwise it and any rewards are gone forever. How fun.
Anywho, semi-rant over. I’m not particularly sure what purpose this thread will really have past this post, so feel free to tell me my opinion is wrong and to quit.
- Death 5 – Reanimator. Decreased cooldown from 30s to 15s.
Oh joy. Please, Anet, if you do anything to this trait – make it toggleable! For those of us who trait into death magic for the staff buffs, yet don’t use minions… this trait is horrible. Why do I want a weak, useless minion spawning that leeroys and looks silly? I’m not asking for anything in place of it… just let give us an on/off switch so I can have staff skill cooldown reduction or mark radius without having to deal with these silly things.
I will build a shrine in honour of the dev who does this.
So. What this means for you is, to add your glow, I reworked the dye channels to give you the largest choice and control possible over the glow. The areas that glow are now selectable for you. Some of the textures are also better balanced to give you more consistent results… you won’t have to guess what color you need to find to make the red feel red, for example. It will just work.
Tier 2 medium, female, here. The glow is a sickly grey colour on all pieces, despite blacks and reds being used for both skin and armour colours. Loving the change, apart from the horrible new ‘third’ dye slot’s position on the legs; but I really hope this glow can become a bit better. Since the set only has three dye slots as of now, how about adding a fourth slot purely for the glow? How’s that for control?
I’ll agree that bloodstone dust is just a joke… but if that’s how quickly you can get empyreal fragments, something’s wrong. Am I the only person who logs out their level 80s at a JP chest, so they can just open it the next day? The three puzzles in Lion’s Arch, the two easy chests in the Aetherblade one just north of it and the Queensdale puzzle on several characters are just such quick and easy fragments…
My problem is with dragonite to be honest, I don’t like having to use a website’s timers to waypoint next to an event; rushing to get the the boss before it dies instantly and start spamming 1 in a kittenstorm of lag and special effects… then going on to the next one. That isn’t how the game should be played… yet it’s all most people do.
Can we change the word ‘dungeon’ in the title to ‘the game’, or even ‘besides the game devs, MMOs’?
I can’t say I’ve tried this path yet, or will even bother due to various reasons, but the elitist attitude is something I commonly see in this game and have seen plenty of times elsewhere… and I hate it. On another MMO, I worked my way up to the elite of the elite as a healer. Then I had to make that difficult situation: do I use my raid locks to run this end game content with the elitist kittens who will give me a slightly faster run at the cost of making me feel sick; or do I join a random small guild/group of friends/pug and near enough carry them through it while teaching them the mechanics and helping them get the better gear so that they can compete with the elitists? Safe to say, there were a lot of players walking around in shiny new gear that would’ve otherwise been vendored.
If you’re such an amazing player, why do you need a group of amazing players to get through a run? Why not use your god-like skills to help those who need it? The feeling that you’ve actually helped someone is (or at least should) much greater than shaving a few minutes off a run.
Also, ilr, you’re definitely correct about a lot of the so-called ‘elitists’ being bad players wanting an easy ride… but the people you called ‘elitists’ are simply ‘elite’. They can often be, but don’t necessarily have to be, one in the same.
(edited by Chameleon Dude.1564)
It will be harder this time… the shattered wings are huge.
At least Adam’s still with us – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Adam.
Fortnightly content? Great, if it’s any good. In the past, I played a certain MMO which offered good weekly content. Then it offered weekly content. Then it offered regular content updates. Then each update just destroyed the game a little bit more. Sadly… I feel like we’re already on the last step already, the plot is going sideways and doing a loop-de-loop and Anet’s going back on everything they haven’t already gone back on. Meanwhile, the almighty salad marshal is using his new found forces to help that kid in Queensdale chase that bloody chicken.
Also, I forgot to mention that daily chores and fortnightly grind lists are not fun. I want to explore that lovely world which I fell in love with. Oh, and the completionist inside of me hanged himself a while back.
Most of those will be due to players having the player music volume setting too low, although there probably will be some actual bugs in it.
They’re too small for my Asura and Foostivoo doesn’t want to play dress-up.
Quaggan liked to gather pearls in the lake to build quaggan’s weather nodes. Now quaggan has no place to go, three whole quaggan villages have been taken from quaggan. Quaggan is angry, foo on Anet. There is no place for quaggan to quaggan quaggan quaggan quaggan.

It would also be nice if two-handed weapons cost twice the materials and were time gated for twice as long, while dropped ones were twice as rare… to balance the cost of dual-wielding versus two-handed weapons.

So, there is a lot of speculation about Livia being Scarlet and such… but what if we rearrange the pieces of the puzzle slightly? We know that Livia lost the Sceptre of Orr, but who could posses it now? Who do we know who has incredible knowledge of Orr? Who do we know who travelled into the very heart of Orr? Who do we know who lead an army to defeat Zhaitan – a dragon who was devouring all of Orr’s magical artefacts? Who do we know who, despite all reason and logic, can take any role he wants? Who do we know who wouldn’t want to be upstaged by Queen Jennah? Who do we know who could make flaws such as Scarlet being referred to as ‘she’ and ‘her’ completely irrelevant?
You have your answer people.
To the thief I fought at some ungodly hour in the morning – thank you for the best 1v1 I’ve ever had. Must’ve gone on for at least twenty minutes, underwater and with a ring of quaggans surrounding us and cheering.
How good it is to be able to fight without three digits of Vizunah swarming in.
I was one of the lucky people who got a ticket from a coffer drop, however I have no idea what to do with it. Some of the skins look great, but they don’t really match any of my characters. I would happily trade it for one of the fused weapon skins that eluded me so.
Named after Lion’s Arch’s founder, Cobiah Marriner, the Marriner’s Horn is a permanent instrument themed for spreading festive tunes.
Has anyone been able to find this elusive item hiding in the gem store yet, or will it most likely be coming out with the next batch of Dragon Bash updates?
(edited by Chameleon Dude.1564)
Hopefully Lord kittenbutt Faren will be inside a karka’s digestive system. Oh how I wished he’d never return to the story.
Once again, we’ve been offered another nice selection of town clothes on the gem store – and I really and grateful to all those involved with making them. However, once again, it’s mostly shirts. If we could have some more legwear, footwear and such to choose from next time; I would greatly appreciate it – and I’m sure many others would too.
N.B. – Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving the cargo shorts! It’s just that we’ve only really got those, the riding pants and the starter ones… chef’s and pirate’s don’t really mix and match.
While I usually respect convention, I will always pronounce it as ‘Or-ee-helk-um’.
I first heard the term in Slayers and it will always stick with me.
This makes sense, as long as the con is addressed – trying to get an alt into that dungeon is a pain as it is. Usually the elitist attitude comes from the players, not the content. =/
