I would delete one of my lvl 80’s & make a norn for this armor.
I appreciate this
+1
+1 to that!
I WANT SCARLET’S HAIR TOO!
I noticed it as well; alot of the armors textures seem to be missing & are now bland & somewhat dull.
I played a Charr named Chasind (because chasind means to run, running, flow, flowing water- all that stuff & plus I love Dragon Age: Origins) During BETA. I ended up making a human elementalist named Soceress Rinoa after Rinoa Heartilly from FF8. I didn’t keep my charr because no armor looks good on them, I also don’t find anything very extinguishable between male or female charr besides the fur on their tails & horn shapes/voices.
I’d play a charr if they didn’t look so goofy with a staff.
I’d play a norn if the female voices weren’t so awkward.
I Do in fact, play an Asura
I also have a Sylvari
It’s an animation bug; so just report it as that as detailed as you can.
Female humans now run like the human men. If I wanted to have my character run like a guy, then I’ll play a male. I really am annoyed of this bug.
+1
Please change female human run back to the way it was.
My big question is: Are these changes set in stone? Is Anet merely wanting our Feedback & then will make the necessary & actually correct adjustments?
@Nikkinella while I agree that there are issues with ele your suggestions are a bit OP cause I could grab all of those traits.
Just a quick throw together of what you said. You want elemental attunement inherent a 9 second base recharge on attunement recharge rate and a aura based on the attunement you swap to replacing elemental attunement. You don’t think that sounds remotely OP? Hello fresh air builds perma shocking aura!
I don’t think it would be the least bit overpowered considering what other classes are capable of. And what’s wrong with a perma shocking aura? People SHOULD have to think twice about just carelessly attacking us. It still wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as permastun warrior. Right now, even the best eles are little more than a nuisance to enemies. Not a real threat. The people you try to kill first when you come up against enemies are the warriors and necros, because they’re the biggest threat. Eles are just an afterthough. And its not like they cant catch us after they kill everyone else anyway. They can shrug off the mediocre damage we do in more defensive specs, and if we’re glassy and can hurt them, we’ll die easily if focused on anyway. Ele should go from being a free loot bag to a serious threat that people prioritize killing first.
So no, my suggestions aren’t the least bit OP. They’ll put us on par with other classes.
When have people ever requested to have an ele in their group for anything other than a buffbot in WvW? Or in pve our only use is icebow in AC.
This all the way +1
I’m with you Envy, I’ll report it as a bug every time I log onto my human female character until it is fixed.
You’re very welcome! I don’t like watching people struggle so it’s our job to help out – thank you for actually listening!
My female human runs as she always has, nothing like the male human I have.
Also, my asura doesn’t moan as far as I can tell. :p
That’s why I’ve reported what I’ve posted as a Bug
I’ve played only 1900 hours & I had ‘the legend’ drop for me – I don’t like any of the legendary skins & grinding to me is not fun, so id never ever go for a legendary. i just cashed that sucker in & helped my friend get his legendary instead
I want Kasmeer’s & Scarlet’s Face & hair.
I would pay $$ for that.
Has anyone noticed on their human female characters, that they now run like the male characters? I’ve reported this as a bug hopefully that’s all it is & not a perma change.
Also Female Asuran voices are now extremely annoying when using a heal skill or using a finisher in WvW – it’s a horrible moan sound. That I’ve also reported as a sound bug.
I don’t really get why commander should be bound to certain classes or builds. Only thing you need is tactical understanding. Since you’re running around in a zerg a single person/specc won’t make that much difference. I wouldn’t run GC though because it’s bad when the commander is always dead/downed first and you’re often at the front, leading your zerg and therefore the first to engage a fight.
This exactly; A dead commander is not a good commander – Any build you run that you like & you feel comfortable with; is the build for you.
Like gorni said: “only this you need is tactical understanding”
It will be a proper Squish fest!
Elementalists will get more build diversity in this patch, not less. Cleansing Water and Elemental Attunement on higher tiers will barely affect current builds.
This is not correct.
Cantrip builds that were 40-60 points in water/arcana already are mostly unaffected.
Build that are impossible now which could have been viable are:
- Any build that wanted to splash arcana because Elemental Attunement is out of reach.
- Water builds that want to run something other than cantrips because of both Aquamancer’s Alacrity and Cleansing Wave being moved to master
- Any build that wanted to splash water because of the Cleansing Wave move
- Builds that got endurance from something other than Renewing Stamina because they can’t get EA at 10 arcana anymore
The fact is, unfortunately the most power Elementalist traits also tend to be the most generally useful across many types of builds and gameplay. Elemental Attunement is powerful because Might/Swiftness/Protection/Regen are useful almost all of the time. Cleansing Wave is powerful because conditions are a significant part of the game regardless of what you are trying to do.
By moving so many generalist traits high into the tiers, build diversity is crushed. The sad truth is, the tiering of traits should be considered both by power and by application across builds. By moving traits that almost every build might use high into the trees the player gets less options and obviously there will be less diversity.
Of course the argument can be made that having powerful traits at Adept makes Elementalists overpowered. The Devs may feel that way, but if they do they should come out and say so. General perception is not that Elementalists are overpowered right now; so in theory don’t need nerfing. This balancing was sold as promoting diversity, not being a backhanded nerf by moving good traits out of reach.
I agree with this; I don’t feel elementalists are OP in anyway – I generally love the class & I have 2 ele’s. This nerf will just make me not play them at all because what I use in master, adept, grandmaster will now all be pushed into GM trait- so my setup will still be 0, 10, 0, 30, 30 – just crappier because there won’t be any real proper condition removals or healing that I can have. It will be ‘So, do I use aurashare for my allies? Or do I used cleansing wave to remove conditions? Do I use evasive arcana? I’ll just close my eyes & pick…." That’s how I feel.
Elementalists will get more build diversity in this patch, not less. Cleansing Water and Elemental Attunement on higher tiers will barely affect current builds.
How will they get more builds?
Looks to be it will still be the old set-up of
0, 10, 0, 30, 30
Moving the traits from Grandmaster to lower tiers instead of higher would actually help imo.
By the way; these changes DO NOT promote build adversity. Moving everything good into master trait means exactly = all points go into water & arcana for that 1 master trait skill.
At least I’m 100% certain I can’t be a solo ele for sure now & I’ll have to have a Guardian to boon & heal me or a Mesmer or warrior to strip my conditions off.
I’m talking PvE btw.
Messing with arcana & water traits are only going to ruin those traits & alot of good builds- don’t move them around, just add more blast finishers & significantly buff fire, air & earth & give a longer staff range. I really don’t want to be “rangered”
Balancing builds shouldnt be destroying builds. This is a nerf to Support eles, no matter how you look at it. Anet is taking The only useful Traits & stacking them in Master Tier traits, so ele’s will be forced to use 1 or the other; it won’t be full builds Yet we will be forced to put all our trait points into master traits to get 1 effect because what could be set out nicely for adept & major (which those traits will now be useless as well after this Nerf) are being moved into master & adepts.
If anything should be moved around it should be:-Stop, drop & roll. Move that to Major & take it out of Adept. It is entirely useless.

Bump and I can confirm this is still like this. Got it from Mystic Forge just a few minutes ago and a quick search brought me here. Not complaining but sure thought it was odd.
Thank you! & also to all the other users who have replied to this topic. I wish it could be re-added to MP because I don’t see myself getting lucky with that staff anytime soon.
I was told you could get 1 a day, a Tri-Colored key & they are located outside of the tower but I have yet to find the NPC that sells them.
Any ideas on how or where I can find them? If it’s true at all
Thank you
I think I spent 10 dollars, but that was probably months ago- I used to earn gold to transfer to gems but that has gone up way to high… for 24 gold it’s around 300 gems currently. That is Sad.
Mounts have NEVER been apart of Guild Wars Lore. Why ruin it all with mounts?
Everytime I see a thread that is mount related I instantly think “This person must have came from WoW or TERA.”
I also agree, their light armors are kinda silly- why do all mage-like professions have to wear robes? Maybe as a mage I’d rather wear pants with a Wolf mantle.
+1 for this
Simply amazing, I’d go for the Eternity if it looked anything close to this.
To explain the title as is: All of the armors that are bought from the Black Lion Trading Post are all Human oriented. The Tier/Cultural armors of each race, are specific to that race.
It would be a nice change if there were more cultural-like armors sold in the Black Lion TP – Or maybe it’s all supposed to be dominated by the human race?
I remember 1st joining Guild Wars 2 back in BETA & made a sylvari instantly, thinking that any armor that I wear as a Sylvari won’t look the same as it would a human – For example Cabalist armor on a human is the lolita/stockings/big sleeves/frills but on a Sylvari it’s leaves, flowers, roots – but identifyable in some way to be Cabalist armor, looking similar. Same with Charr. Have more torn, patchy armors & Norn- more furs!
Similar to how Guild Wars 1 armors were, the idea of ‘Profession Driven’ as you’d never see a Necro wearing Elementalist armor, because each profession had their own tier of armors – they weren’t mixed or worn by ele’s or mesmers or ritualists & only obtainable by those of the same profession.
(Sorry if I ramble)
TLDR; More armor skins that match each race like cultural armors do & are sold as skins in BLTP.
I’d love to see builds after this nerf- I hope this is just for PVP & not PvE
Hmm I don’t care for the Arcane Nerf.
I love being a support Ele- giving boons to allies & such; this just seems to mess it up is all.
“Arcane V – Elemental Attunement. Moved to Master tier.”
This is originally in the 1st tier & a core part of my build- now it’s being taken away for master tier. I’ll still rely on Arcane. So 30 points will still be in Arcane.
“Water V – Cleansing Wave. Moved to Master tier.”
Looks like this will still be 30 in Water.
My Trait Build is- 0 10 0 30 30- looks like it still will be that because some people actually like being Boon/Support eles. Only a few things I like will be missing, Should I keep Powerful Aura? Or switch to Cleansing Wave? This does NOT solve anything!
All this does for my ele is in order to get the effects I want I still have to push 30 points into water/arcana trait line. But in this case, nothing is changing except my ele’s healing abilities.
Instead of moving important traits to master tiers- which in my opinion is a waste & a core element of many builds now(that actually people like & enjoy & are good at) – just buff air, earth & fire & lessen cooldowns.
I’d love to see builds after this update :/

Why are people throwing rares into the MF to get a pre? That makes no sense, Throw in exotics to get exotics back- Do Dungeons for the tokens, use the tokens to buy the exotic weapons- I did that with staves & got The Legend; Bifrost precursor on the 1st try. Yeah it was luck & I wasn’t even trying to get a precursor, I was going for the Delusion staff. You’re actually wasting gold buying rares & throwing them in to maybe get someone good back- there’s a very very very slim chance in doing that SO you’re better off getting the exotic weapons from dungeon tokens :P
The other night I decided I’d go for making the Delusion staff (since it is no longer on TP), it’s been months since I’ve used the mystic forge for anything. I bought 3 AC staves & 1 Ta staff, threw it in the MF & got The Legend on my 1st try. My Magic find is 83% so it may have a factor?
What I did- I wasn’t even going for a precursor- in fact I was going for the Delusion staff since it is no longer on the market- I just used my dungeon tokens getting 3 AC staves & 1 TA staff – threw it in the MF & got The Legend. What a surprise, it’s literally been months since I’ve used the MF & I got the Bifrost Precursor on the 1st try. My magic find is 83% but I think it was just luck. The best thing to do is use Dungeon tokens to get your precursor. You’re not wasting anything.. except time if that’s really important to you, but only gaining gold through dungeoning instead of wasting it on rares when it’s 100x better to use dungeon exotics which are basically free. I hope that makes sense! XD

It would be nice to see the armors in GW2 being more like the armors from GW1- But in GW1 there were no other races other than human- but the general idea of the armor was: Necro armor looked undead, fishnet stockings, skulls, spikes; while Elementalist armor was silks, jewels flowy things- It would be nice for more ‘racial’ like armors – charr having scrappy but still cool looking armors, sylvari; like you said. +1
There would be no point because of all of the WPs so close together, Atleast that’s how I feel. I’m sure this would also add lag or loading problems for alot of people.
I hope the skin is re-added to the MP
Atleast add Scarlet’s hair to the sylvari tree. It’s annoying when an NPC is added & you can’t even have their face/hair/armor options
I felt like in the personal story that trahearne was taking all my glory- so now I know what it feels like to be the main character playing a co-stars role.
Atleast he will revive you I guess….
That would be an awesome title – then I’d have a reason to complete personal story
Legendaries aren’t supposed to be the type for ‘everyone’ it’s legendary & only a certain number of people will get them- Anet likes it that way I’m sure.
If it was made easier for players to get legendaries, more than likely the players who have spent months or longer grinding would feel they’ve been cheated – if you don’t have the drive to get a legendary only simply because grinding isn’t your thing, then frankly there is no reason for you to get a legendary.
I mean it IS called ’Legend’ary- that usually doesn’t entitle easy; I think it’s fine how it is.
I do see your point of ‘anyone should be able to obtain legendary/precursor no matter the playstyle’ But I see it as those who work hard, get rewarded
(edited by Chasind.3128)
So many guilds just pack of & leave DR; seriously the transfer rate is killing us, that when people leave they are guaranteed NOT to come back. If I would have known after a year or a few months DR was going to do this bad- I wouldn’t of joined it in the first place :c
But I’ve been there since Beta so I guess I’ll stick it out & get farmed by larger servers in WvW.
Doing large events such as Teq has been impossible that I just gave up on it & rarely WvW as it is now anyways.
Save DR & the other lowly populated servers please :c
(edited by Chasind.3128)
This made me drool- it’s gorgeous – Why didn’t Anet think of this?
Medium armor for males & females is practically the same, if for guys it’s a coat- then 99% of the time for ladies it is too – There certainly needs to be medium armor that doesn’t have a coat that extends below the waist – More armors in general that can look great on not only human sets but the Charr & Asura as well & not oversized on Norn.
All I do are dungeons to because I don’t like the zergfests. Guess no karma for me.
I have 3k battle commendations & didn’t plan on using them until I saw the vendor that instead of trading gold – trades commendations; I got happy. My only question is, can I use the ascended gear that I buy in WvW in PvE? Since they are bought through 2 different Currencies, laurels aside I was hoping it didn’t affect where I could use it.
Ooo it’s totally in your norns leg there…. Norn’s though, most gear doesn’t fit them right it seems.
Is it really that hard? I mean, I log on and do my daily however I want and I get ascended gear out of it. I don’t call that a grind. It’s time gated yeah, but its not like it’s such a major stat buff that I can’t get groups or I’ll die without it….
It’s not hard, though it’s kittening annoying. Why can’t I get BiS gear by doing challenging content like fractals 80 and not by spamming 1 during those “world” events? Wait, I don’t even spam 1, I just leave autoattack turned on and watch a movie. Is this game really skill > gear? Is this how “end content” should look like? Standing in LA near crafting panel.
this…seriously…this.
and when ascended armor comes out, ascended WILL be the gear check in the future. (the total difference is huge)
This is what I don’t look forward to :c
Ascended weapons are redundant compared to legendaries. Why would you take something stagnant and time consuming when you can use the same time for something that is infinitely scaling, interchangeable stats and at least looks nice? I would never build ascended over a legendary, because its a guaranteed solution. Once you have a legendary, that weapon slot is immune to level caps, new tiers, and anything between.
You talk of a goal to make over time? Riddle me this. There are many, many, many reasons for why people can’t get one. Some people don’t have the gold. Some people don’t like crafting. Some people don’t like wasting Obby shards on something that may or may not be the top tier. Some people can’t make it to the champs and bosses in time to get a few hits. Some people don’t like spending hours on end running from champ to champ to Lyssa to Dwayna to champ to champ. And guess what. These are all legitimate, acceptable, enjoyable playstyles. In WvW, if you trebbed a wall, you can’t get any loot unless some idiot manages to get himself killed by your treb’s boulders. And realistically, a small drop rate is not a reliable method to get any item. Should all these play styles be cast aside because Anet thinks they’ve done the right thing? Should I trade off fun for good gear? Punishing people for their playstyle is anything but a good way to get customers, if anything it’s brilliant for chasing me away.
You’re right. If you put effort, you deserve rewards. That’s why we have legendaries. But anything lower than that should have No say in the way I want to play my game. I bought GW2 to play happily without being forced to raids to keep up with the game or be forced to do anything else to have equal oppurtunity with other players. Ascended basically says “CRAFTING OR GTFO”. Prove me wrong.
Perhaps I should be more clear. More than Ascended, the issue for me is the manner of implementation. There’s only one way to get ascended and if you don’t take that way, it’s tough luck. That’s a bullkitten policy and makes it that much harder to enjoy this game.
+1
This exactly
