I really really would love just one reliable blast finisher that isn’t a mark that has to be tripped to trigger. Maybe the reaper 5 greatsword skill instead of the stun on it make it a blast finisher. Maybe one of the new shouts could be a blast finisher.
Map looks really nice from the streams. I just wonder how the 40 or so total active world vs worlders on my server are gonna try to hold down 3 of these boarderlands and eternal.
We would be lucky to get a big enough group together to down one of these new lords 90% of the week. WvW on my server boils down to get camped at entrance till the enemy gets bored and goes to another boarderland. They let us cap a few things then they steamroll over us and camp us at the entrance again.

Reward enough would be just letting me play. Beta tested guild wars 2. Been playing for years strictly wvw and pvp. Pre oredered hot. Beta tested the rev. Nobody in our guild got an invite.

I just dont have these problems. Granted I hated my ranger for a long time. After they added the trapper runes though I love it. I play a zerker build with trapper runes. I can engage or disengage at will. I put out some of if not the highest burst dmg. I play like a thief that almost seems better than a thief cus no innititive and I can stealth on demand anytime with a trap. The stealth durations stack so i can drop more than one trap for many seconds of stealth to help get away when needed or ambush somebody from stealth that they never saw coming.
I played pvp with somebody new to the game. Gave him a ranger shout build. Dude was holding his own.

They should just make one of those racial utilities nobody ever uses for each race a 25% movement speed buff utility. Then just change the current traits/singets etc that had that bonus to something else.
You know what would have been more fun and leans towards what players been asking for a long time for. Making the event something like all gates/walls take 1/3 the normal damages from players and siege equipment. Would have made for some epic defense/offense siege videos.
You can try running trapper runes. I run a zerker/assassins mix with trapper runes just for the stealth. Now that they fixed water field to work with the runes. You take water field and 2 short cd traps like flame and poison. You now have 3 on demand stealths and a 4th from your longbow plus one utility left of your choice. Keep stealthing around letting your pet stay on the real target and pew pew or stealth in for a bit gs combo. Stealth and swoop away to gain distance reset heal etc.
Pro tip the stealth duration stacks. So you can toss a trap for 3 secs then while stealthed toss another for 3 more etc for a super sneak attack or extened stealthed getaway.

I play ranked solo q cus it gives more xp and rewards n stuff. I dont even know what my leaderboard rank or whatever is and dont care that much. I have noticed now that I am starting to face pre made teams with myself and 4 pugs almost every match now.
Just give us a deathmatch option already. Capture the point style matches only promote one style of gameplay BUNKER. These builds can be killed but it takes so much time while they sit there gaining points. Then you kill all thier pets/turrets etc then them. Boom they spawn and are right back with all the pets/turrets again forcing you to take awhile to kill the pets/turrets again and them while they sit on the point again.
Bring back belindas greatsword skin again pls.
I go alot of rounds of spvp without dieing once on my ranger. I find it pretty easy to maintain distance with greatsword 3 block longbow 3 for stealth and stone singet when needed to help u get another gs or lb 3 attack to gain some more distance. Also entangle can help as well.
I usually only use a black widow and wolf in spvp.
Black Widow = Creepy Uncle
Wolf = Fear Me
Its simple really. People have brains and will dodge block reflect etc… your big moves in a pure glass cannon build. Also spvp forces you to stand on a point which doesnt usually go well for glass cannon builds. WvW are big zergs smashing into other big zergs so again pure glass cannon doesn’t stand up to well unless you just sitting in the back or side pew pewing.
As for pve the mobs dont have a brain. They have patterns that you learn so that they never doge block reflect etc any of your attacks. You also learn those patterns so you can dodge block reflect etc their attacks so glass cannon builds work best for pve.
Solo q annoys me sometimes because it seems more than 50 percent of the people joining are builds that could never hold a point if their life depended on it. Example thieves or mesmers.
Then there is team q. I wont play it anymore. It really only matters which team brings more engi’s. Plus everybody plays all the super cheesy builds.
My engi is kinda out of control atm. I dont play it that much cus its boring. Seriously though the only single thing I worry about is a power ranger pew pewing me while im bunkering a point and being attacked by 3 other enemies.
I just want my 2 handed katana skin. Apparently it was released when I was taking a break and playing other games. Now its gone and I have to sit and wait for it to come back.

I do very well with my zerker ranger in spvp. Its just a very squishy high burst build. If you can use that massive range to your advantage its great. Problem is most people that play rangers are just bad. They don’t weapon swap they dont know when to use rapid fire. All they do is hit auto attack and rapid fire. They use entagle then knock them out of it with point blank shot because its a skill off cooldown.
Apparently it was limited time only in the gem store and I happen to miss it. I been wanting a katana like sword/greatsword forever. I will gladly pay the gems for it if it were available again and I am sure others missed it as well.
Didn’t read all 37 pages so maybe somebody already mentioned this but. All I have wanted for the longest time in gw2 is Katana or samurai sword/great sword. Perferable a kinda long greatsword like sephiroth wields in final fantasy 7. Most all the swords/great swords in gw2 are all huge bulky things that dont appeal to me.

I fail to see the problem. Rangers were pretty much meant to be deadly from afar and fairly weak when you closed in compared to say guards/wars. Seems to be pretty spot on in pvp for me lately on my ranger. Also my warrior is still stronger in almost every aspect and can put out just as much dmg with a killshot from 1500 range as well that always crits.

Because for the first time since launch like 3 years ago there are finally a few viable ranger builds. Ranger has always been the hands down worst class with worst class mechanic for every aspect of the game. The class mechanic is still the worst and alot of the traits are still awful and dont deserve to be as high up the trait line as they are. After 3 years of complaining though they have finally fixed some small things that killed the ranger and given them proper buffs so now a few builds are actually viable.
Man all these new ranger gm traits just look very meh. Yet on my other classes almost every one im like man that seems very nice. 20sec cooldown for a 1k aoe heal what a joke.
Like the title says I use a pet command and see no healing on myself my pet or allies. Figured I would grab some low cooldown pets like eagles and try to see if I can throw out some good heals but im not noticing any healing whatsoever.
Even the thieves are almost all condi builds now. Seriously its out of control. I played a condi Mesmer to see what the rage is all about. I was disgusted after a few matches. I died like once in 10 rounds. I had almost perma uptime on half a dozen conditions on enemies.
I have been holding points like a boss after patch with a cleric staff ele in spvp. Using cleric trinket monk runes benevolence/water sigils and 0 0 10 30 30 traits. With another bunker like guardian you aren’t getting us off mid point.
DD just isnt gonna be a heal bot. Staff has 2 water fields and the auto attack in water is a strong heal to allies. DD pretty much just has a 40 second cooldown small heal then things from traits.
While I agree that ele is in a better place than before. I feel its mostly just due to the ferocity nerf. Other classes aren’t hitting ele as hard now. But basically now as an ele you need to go full glass use one specific runeset and stack might putting some of your blasts and attunements on cooldown to do the damage you get by choosing warrior and putting on pvt gear and a hammer.
Been running close to the same deal. In wvw I am running full celestial armor and cleric trinkets. On my staff im using benevolence and water sigils. Found even just running behind your zerg shooting staff auto attack in water heals people even if you don’t hit an enemy target. The heal is pretty darn strong to. All together 47.5 more outgoing healing. Currently my staff auto heals about 700. So 47.5 more is 1015 on a 3/4 second cast staff auto attack that heals several allies each time.
Only spent a couple hours trying out some spvp buids. Cit dmg across the board on all classes seems way down. What it seemed like to me was not that the ele got buffed to help be on par with the other classes. But the other classes that were doing insane dmg aka thief warrior mesmer got nerfed to be more on par with my ele. I wasn’t just a free kill for thieves anymore no matter what build I ran. The support staff healer ele build did some pretty good healing to allies.

Yup Thief can hit for the same or higher with backstab and has stealth to get away. Warrior can hit for much higher with killshot or eviscrate and still be pretty tanky with higher armor/health and healing singet. A mesmer combo can dish out insane damage as well and they also have stealth and clones to help survive.
Anet just seems to refuse to understand that ele has no real class mechanic to help them out. I don’t count attunement swapping as a mechanic. Its just another set of cooldowns. Attunement swapping doesn’t really help the ele survive at all. Almost all ele’s use cantrip utilites cus they are like the only thing ele has to help them survive a little bit. Ele gets these extra heals like trident or cleansing wave but they are just really small heals that any class can match or beat. Also the ele heal slot skills themselves are awful.
I did some spvp last night. Started out on my glass cannon ele. Running full glass might stacking build. With 12+ stacks of might I was able to do some decent dmg and get some kills but died alot. A guildmate comes in the match on his mes and died a good bit I asked him why he is dieing so much. I said a good mesmer/thief will pretty much never die even full glass ones in spvp. He asked if I ever play glass mesmer. I said all the time and got on mine. Running full glass gs sword pistol build. Played 5 matches straight with no deaths before I quit for the night. The difference was just insane to me how much easier it is for mesmer. With 0 might stacks throw a clone form 1200 range away and do the same kind of damage on my ele’s high cooldown easily dodgeable skills plus I actually have a defensive mechanic clones plus stealth if I am ever in trouble.

Ele spvp 0 wvw 1 waterfield bot pve zerker like everybody else.
Should be pretty easy to figure out dude without any spreadsheets or anything. Here I will break it down for you. To do good raw damage you need power precision and crit dmg/ferocity. You also need defensive stats like vit and toughness to survive more than a few seconds. So thats 5 total stats you need but you could probably get away with 4 no vit on a warrior. Only 3 stats come on gear.
To do high condi damage you only need condi dmg. Condi duration helps some but its not 100% needed. So with 1 Stat you have all the damage you need or 2 if you really want duration as well. This leaves you 1 or 2 more stats to stack with your gear/runes to help you survive.
Pretty darn funny that they have to change and nerf the entire stat because thief backstab was hitting to hard and stealth is op and warriors are not squishy at all when specing glassy. Both of which were class issues. Now classes who hit like wet noodles and dont have op stealth or high hp armor etc like ele will be even more useless.
Just lol if they do add a ring to metor. Yet another nerf to one of if not the worst classes in the game. Actually if they do fix the ranger pet to use its f2 skill on demand like they are claiming it will I think I will move ele down to worst class on my list.
I know I have seen more than 60 enemies from one server on my home bl before so I am not sure your numbers could be accurate. I think its more of a total numbers from all 3 servers combined cap. Why you ask well because on numerous occasions I have had the outnumbered buff and a queue on that boarderland at the same time. Guildies trying to get into the bl and there being a queue for them while we are somehow outnumbered.
Conjurs glyphs and arcane utilities are all garbage. Ele is forced to use cantrips cus they have no defensive mechanics like pretty much every other class has.
Anybody besides me notice dd auto attacks are not 1/2 second like the tool tip says. I mean try it out. Spam your 1 key. It takes about a full second from the time you press 1 before the bar goes up and the animation finishes and you can start the second auto attack. Maybe if you could actually use an auto attack every 1/2 second they would be alright.
I will save you some time and be honest. No play another class. Ele had its time as a strong class but it got tons of nerfs while other classes got tons of buffs. In pvp you now have to play perfectly to beat a bad player. The new patch isn’t gonna add much to the ele and actually offers some more nerfs in the form of the gm traits being awful and other classes getting good gm traits and will be able to use more sigils. Last anet only does one of these big balance patches every 6 months or so. Meaning its gonna take like a year or more before ele is on par with other classes.
I really don’t see the point of feroicty change. There is like 2-3 skills in game that hit to hard with to short of a cd or no cooldown at all that just needed to be tweaked. First one is backstab. It hits to hard still and can come out of nowhere and the thief can go right back into stealth and do it again. An internal cooldown would have fixed it. Second is warrior earthshaker and just hammer in general. It needed its dmg reduced further to be used as a cc weapon and not a cc weapon that does tons of dmg as well. Other than that I have never had any problem with any other classes using glass cannon builds. They all are taking the trade off of being squishy to do good dmg. Thief has stealth which is near impossible to balance the way it is and warrior is not squishy at all going full zerk due to healing singet. Those were the only problems I saw.
Nice vid bud. All I could think about during that fight with the warrior that started around 6 mins in was man that warrior is awful and you still have had to work your butt off to kill him.
Just another nerf to ele that is already in really bad shape with no help coming in the next patch. Oh sucks for engis to but they are in a pretty good spot balance wise.
based on the swiss style tournament, and ranking system, you’ll see only SoS and TC switching groups week in week out. BG will always be stuck with JQ, while Mags will always be stuck with DB.

This looks pretty spot on to me. I highly doubt any 2v1’s will happen that might change these outcomes. DB could possibly get a 2nd place beating mag if they either got thier act together or TC helps 2v1 mag. SOS for whatever reason hates DB with a passion and hits us kitten every map gernerally leaving Mag alone on their bl for the most part. DB not really trying though its mostly smaller guilds looking for fights getting blobbed by huge SOS blobs. DB doesn’t scout upgrade defend or place/refresh siege for crap.

Warrior= 100% crit chance on burst skills such as eviscerate killshot earthshaker and combustive shot. Now the warrior doesn’t even have to put points into precision and can spend them elsewhere lol.
